Abstract
BackgroundOsteoporosis(OP) is one of the major comorbidities of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) which is associated with immune disorders[1]. The gut microbiota has been highlighted to be an important environmental factor to influence immune system in maintaining bone health and regulating bone remodeling[2]. However, the alterations of intestinal flora and its relationship with immune system in RA patients with OP are unclear.ObjectivesTo investigate the characteristics of gut microbiome as well as the associations between flora and peripheral lymphocyte subpopulations and cytokines in rheumatoid arthritis patients complicated with osteoporosis.MethodsTotal 28 RA patients were divided into 14 RA-non-OP and 14 gender- and age-matched RA-OP groups according to their bone mineral density (BMD) and the history of fragility fracture. Gut microbiota of participants were investigated by 16s rRNA and peripheral lymphocyte subsets and cytokines were assessed via flow cytometry. Indicators like erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reaction protein (CRP), anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (ACPA) and anti-mutated citrullinated vimentin (MCV) antibody were recorded meanwhile. Alpha diversity (ACE, Chao1, Simpson, Shannon) and beta diversity indices were analyzed using QIIME2. Biomarker species were recognized based on STEMP. Spearman analysis was adopted for correlation of two variables. All P-values reported herein were two-tailed and P-value<0.05 was taken as statistically significant.ResultsThe alpha-diversity have no significant difference between RA-non-OP and RA-OP groups (P >0.05, Figure 1A). The community structure of microflora differed between two groups (P <0.05, Figure 1B). As for the composition of intestinal flora at genus level, Faecalibacterium, Proteus, Catenibacterium, Enterobacter and Erysipelatoclostridium in RA-OP group as well as Lachnospiraceae_ND3007_group, Parasutterella, Megasphaera, Tyzzerella, UCG-005, Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1, UCG-002, Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group, Christensenellaceae_R-7_group, Prevotella, Parabacteroides in RA-non-OP group were significantly increased (Figure 1C). There were positive correlations between Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group and the level of T, Th1 and Th17 cells, but negative relevance with ESR, CRP and IL-10 (P <0.05). The relative abundance of Faecalibacterium was negatively correlated with IL-2, IL-4, TNF-α and positively with MCV (P <0.05). Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1 and Lachnospiraceae_ND3007_group were negatively correlated with ACPA and MCV respectively as well as IL-2 (P <0.05, Figure 1D-E).ConclusionAbnormality of immune system may contribute directly or indirectly to OP in RA, which may be related to the disturbance of gut microbiota.References[1]Horta-Baas G, Romero-Figueroa MDS, Montiel-Jarquín AJ, et al. Abstract
BackgroundThe presence of dysbiosis in the gut microbiome is responsible for the initiation of autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases. However, such dysbiosis is difficult to characterize in sweeping generalization owing to the high dimensional complexity of the gut microbiota.ObjectivesThis study designed to characterize the gut microbial enterotype in patients with undifferentiated spondyloarthritis (USpA) from lower dimensionality and describe the dysbiosis.MethodsThe Fecal samples of 105 patients were diagnosed with USpA and gender- and age- matched 105 healthy controls (HC) were included in the intestinal microbiota composition analyses via Illumina sequencing of bacterial 16S rRNA genes. Microbiota-derived clustering was performed using Dirichlet multinomial mixtures (DMM) modeling. To identify discriminative features in abundance between enterotypes, the Linear Discriminant Analysis Effect Size (LEfSe) algorithm was used with the online interface Galaxy (Log10 LDA score > 4.0). The phyloseq R package to compute alpha diversity (ACE, Chao1, Shannon and Simpson indices), beta diversity (Bray-Curtis dissimilarity) and the microbial composition (at the genus level) to describe the richness and diversity of the microbiota between two enterotypes.ResultsAs showed in Figure 1A and C, by evaluating the Laplace approximation to the negative log mode, 2 distinctly enterotypes were identified in the USpA and HC microbiota dataset. LEfSe Analysis indicated the distinctive abundant microbial clades between the 2 enterotypes (LDA score >4) in both the USpA and HC group respectively. At the genus level, Faecalibacterium and Prevotella was the driving genus of enterotype 1 and Bacteroides contributed to enterotype 2 (Figure 1B, D). The alpha-diversity and beta diversity between the distinctive enterotypes was highly significantly different (P < 0.01, Figure 1E, F). Distinct bacterial profiles were also observed in enterotype 1 and 2 (Figure 1G). Interestingly, no significant differences were found between USpA patients and HC for the corresponding same intestinal type. This may be because USpA was at a comparatively early stage of spondyloarthritis (SpA).ConclusionTwo significantly distinct bacterial microbiota structures existed in the USpA patients which was consistent with the general healthy population.References[1]Belkaid Y, Hand TW: Role of the microbiota in immunity and inflammation. Abstract
BackgroundPatients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) displays extreme dysbiosis in microbiota. However, such dysbiosis is difficult to characterize owing to the high dimensional complexity of the gut microbiota1,2.ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to discover the enterotype characters of intestinal flora in RA.MethodsFecal samples from 145 RA patients were collected for bacterial 16S rRNA genes sequencing. Mathematical modeling using Dirichlet multinomial mixtures (DMM) was applied to describe the variability in the microbiome data and cluster samples into enterotypes. The alpha-diversity, beta-diversity and the microbial composition analysis of the gut microbiome were used to define the difference of gut microbiota profiles between different enterotypes. The nonredundant taxonomic biomarkers for each enterotype were selected by using LEfSe. Inflammatory biomarkers (ESR, CRP), auto-antibodies(ACPA, MCV), peripheral lymphocytes subsets and cytokines were analyzed in our cohort using the Kruskal-Wallis test.ResultsLaplace approximation of DMM indicated two significantly distinct bacterial microbiota structures (RAE1 and RA E2) existed in the dataset (Figure 1a). Principal co-ordinates analyses confirmed that these two microbiota states explained a reasonable proportion of observed variance in microbiota composition(ANOSIM R2 = 0.267, p = 0.001; Figure 1b), with distinct bacterial genus distribution of in each enterotype (Figure 1c). RA E1 were primarily dominated by Prevotella while RA E2 by Bacteroides. Interestingly, Chao1, ACE, Shannon and Simpson revealed a higher alpha diversity in Prevotella-enriched enterotype (p< 0.001, Figure 1d). Fourteen selected taxonomic biomarkers at different phylogenetic levels showed great discriminant ability, with Log10 LDA score > 4.0 (Figure 1e-g). Further, inflammatory biomarkers (ESR, CRP) and auto-antibodies(ACPA, MCV) as well as the number of T, B and CD4+T, Th1, Th2, Th17, and Treg were consistent in RA E1 and RA E2 (p > 0.05, Figure 2h). But CD8+T were significantly higher in RA E2 than in RA E2 (p < 0.05).ConclusionDespite RA gut microbiota being of different dysbiosis, two patterns of dysbiosis, designated as RA-enterotypes, were predominant among the RA patient cohort. RA E2 exhibited a loss of Prevotella but a growth of Bacteroides, while RA E1 presented the opposite results.References[1]Arumugam M, Raes J, Pelletier E, et al. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of maternal exposure to lipopolysaccharide during pregnancy on allergic asthma in offspring in mice. Methods: Animal experimental research was carried out from June 2019 to June 2021.Pregnant C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 2 groups by intraperitoneal injection with 7 μg/kg lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or phosphate buffered saline (PBS) at day 15.5 of gestation. After birth, 6 offspring were randomly chosen from each group at the age of 4 weeks, and stimulated with house dust mites (HDM) or PBS, further divided into 4 groups, such as LPS+PBS group, LPS+HDM group, PBS+PBS group, PBS+HDM group, with 3 mice in each group. The cough and wheezing were observed, the histological changes in lung tissue were examined after HE staining, and the expression of inflammatory factors including interleukin (IL)-4, IL-6, IL-17A, IL-23, interferon (IFN)-α and IFN-β in the lung tissue were detected by high-throughput liquid protein chip detection. T test or rank sum test was used for the comparison among these groups. Results: The asthma-like airway inflammation was more obvious in PBS+HDM group after stimulated by HDM than that in PBS+PBS group, nevertheless, this manifestation in LPS+HDM group was milder than that in PBS+HDM group. HE staining showed that inflammatory cell aggregation in the lung tissue in PBS+HDM group was significantly higher than that in PBS+PBS group (4.0 (3.5, 4.0) vs. 0 (0, 0.5), Z=2.02, P=0.043), while it was much lower in LPS+HDM group compared to PBS+HDM group (1.0 (0.5, 1.5) vs. 4.0 (3.5, 4.0), Z=1.99, P=0.046). High-throughput liquid protein chip detection of lung tissue showed that IL-6, IL-23 and IFN-β levels were significantly higher in PBS+HDM group when compared to those in PBS+PBS group ((114±3) vs. (94±4) ng/L, (210±4) vs. (173±7) ng/L, (113±2) vs. (94±4) ng/L, t=4.37, 4.84, 3.96, all P<0.05), while the levels of IL-6, IL-23, IFN-α, IFN-β in LPS+HDM group were significantly lower than those in PBS+HDM group ((87±5) vs. (114±3) ng/L, (171±7) vs. (210±4) ng/L, (16.1±0.6) vs. (20.9±0.3) ng/L, (95±1) vs. (113±2) ng/L, t=5.07, 5.07, 7.28, 7.47, all P<0.05). Conclusions: Prenatal low dose LPS exposure can reduce offspring's airway inflammatory reactions and prevent the development of allergic disease. Maternal infection during pregnancy may affect the occurrence and development of allergic asthma in offspring.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate ferroptosis in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) and its regulation by M2 macrophage-derived exosomes. Methods: LSCC and adjacent noncancerous tissue samples were collected from 32 patients treated in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin between September 2018 and April 2021, including 26 males and 6 females, aged 43-79 years. The expressions of ferroptosis marker glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4) in LSCC and adjacent noncancerous tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The correlations between GPX4 expression and clinicopathological factors in LSCC were analyzed. Biological changes of TU212 cells after treated with ferroptosis-induced agent erastin were detected by transmission electron microscope, cell counting kit-8(CCK-8), clone test, reactive oxygen species(ROS), malondialdehyde(MDA), glutathione(GSH), JC-1, RT-PCR and western blot. Exosomes were isolated from the supernatant of M0/M2 macrophages (M0-exos/M2-exos) and co-incubated with erastin-treated TU212 cells to detect the change of ferroptosis in cells of each group. The data were analyzed by SPSS software of version19.0. Results: GPX4 expression in LSCC tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent noncancerous tissues (2.04±0.65 vs. 0.99±0.09, F=30.36, P<0.001), and was closely related to T stage and clinical stage (Ⅰ-Ⅱvs.Ⅲ-Ⅳ: 1.75±0.39 vs. 2.18±0.71, F=2.25, P<0.05; T1-2 vs. T3-4: 1.71±0.42 vs. 2.20±0.69, F=2.06, P<0.05). In TU212 cells treated with erastin, mitochondrial crest became smaller, membrane density increased, proliferation rate decreased, intracellular ROS level increased, mitochondrial membrane potential depolarized, GSH content decreased, intracellular MDA level increased and expressions of GPX4 mRNA and protein decreased. Change of M0 into M2 macrophages was induced by IL-4 stimulation. When erastin-treated TU212 cells were incubated with M2-exos, cell proliferation was partially restored and GPX4 expression was enhanced, and also with the recoveries of levels of ROS, MDA and GSH (all P<0.05). Conclusions: Ferroptosis is one of the cell death ways of LSCC. M2-exos may inhibit ferroptosis of LSCC cells.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to investigate the perceptions and opinions of orthodontists and periodontists on the management of gingival recession in orthodontic patients. METHODS An online survey was sent to 29 periodontists and 80 orthodontists registered and currently practising in New Zealand. All participants answered questions about the timing and clinical indications of mucogingival surgeries in orthodontic patients diagnosed with mucogingival deformities. RESULTS Most periodontists and orthodontists believed that gingival grafts should ideally be performed after orthodontic treatment. In clinical practice, 40% of periodontists indicated that they would receive referrals after completion of orthodontic treatment. However, 29.6% of orthodontists indicated that they would refer to a periodontist before orthodontic treatment in clinical practice. The most crucial factor that affected periodontists' decision-making was 'evidence-based guidelines' (35.0%), followed by 'clinical experience' (30.0%) and 'patient concerns' (15.0%). All four factors of 'gingival phenotype', 'presence of gingival recession', 'amount of keratinised tissue' and 'planning specific tooth movements' were equally considered by orthodontists regarding their decision-making. CONCLUSIONS The majority of the surveyed New Zealand periodontists and orthodontists expressed a belief that the ideal timing for the management of gingival recessions would be after the completion of orthodontic treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the association of thromboytopenia with mortality of Standford type A aortic dissection after cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. Methods: Total of 498 patients with Standford type A aortic dissection after surgery in Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from May 2017 to December 2018 were collected retrospectively. There were 350 males and 148 females, with a mean age of (51.7±12.0) years. The patients were divided into thrombocytopenia group (platelet count<75×1015/L, n=178) and normal platelet group (platelet count≥75×1015/L, n=320) according to the lowest platelet count within 72 hours after surgery. The perioperative in-hospital mortality and related complications were calculated by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The primary endpoint was in-hospital mortality, and the secondary endpoints included secondary thoracotomy, pneumonia, postoperative continuous renal replacement therapy, paraplegia, heart failure, length of hospital stay and intensive care unit (ICU) stay time. Results: The morbidity of thrombocytopenia after Standford type A aortic dissection surgery was 35.7% (178/498). Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that postoperative thrombocytopenia was significantly associated with in-hospital mortality and 7 secondary endpoints (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed thrombocytopenia after aortic dissection surgery was significantly associated with increased postoperative mortality (OR=12.57, 95%CI: 2.26-69.93, P=0.004), secondary thoracotomy (OR=6.21, 95%CI: 1.31-29.46, P=0.022), continuous renal replacement therapy (OR=7.51, 95%CI: 2.53-22.34, P<0.001), paraplegia (OR=23.99, 95%CI: 1.47-392.21, P=0.026), heart failure (OR=4.71, 95%CI: 1.19-18.62, P=0.027) and longer ICU stay time (OR=1.86, 95%CI: 1.11-3.12, P=0.019). Conclusions: Thrombocytopenia after Standford type A aortic dissection after cardiopulmonary bypass surgery (the lowest platelet count within 72 hours) is strongly associated with postoperative in-hospital mortality. Trying to avoid the factors related to thrombocytopenia can prevent more complications at the same time.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Exogenous melatonin inhibited the senescence of preosteoblast cells in type 1 diabetic (T1D) mice and those cultured in high glucose (HG) by multiple regulations. Exogenous melatonin had a protective effect on diabetic osteoporosis, which may depend on the inhibition of senescence. INTRODUCTION Senescence is thought to play an important role in the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying diabetic bone loss. Increasing evidence has shown that melatonin exerts anti-senescence effects. In this study, we investigated whether melatonin can inhibit senescence and prevent diabetic bone loss. METHODS C57BL/6 mice received a single intraperitoneal injection of 160 mg/kg streptozotocin, followed by the oral administration of melatonin or vehicle for 2 months. Then, tissues were harvested and subsequently examined. MC3T3-E1 cells were cultured under HG conditions for 7 days and then treated with melatonin or not for 24 h. Sirt1-specific siRNAs and MT1- or MT2-specific shRNA plasmids were transfected into MC3T3-E1 cells for mechanistic study. RESULTS The total protein extracted from mouse femurs revealed that melatonin prevented senescence in T1D mice. The micro-CT results indicated that melatonin prevented bone loss in T1D mice. Cellular experiments indicated that melatonin administration prevented HG-induced senescence, whereas knockdown of the melatonin receptors MT1 or MT2 abolished these effects. Sirt1 expression was upregulated by melatonin administration but significantly reduced after MT1 or MT2 was knocked down. Knockdown of Sirt1 blocked the anti-senescence effects of melatonin. Additionally, melatonin promoted the expression of CDK2, CDK4, and CyclinD1, while knockdown of MT1 or MT2 abolished these effects. Furthermore, melatonin increased the expression of the polycomb repressive complex (PRC), but knockdown of MT1 or MT2 abolished these effects. Furthermore, melatonin increased the protein levels of Sirt1, PRC1/2 complex-, and cell cycle-related proteins. CONCLUSION This work shows that melatonin protects against T1D-induced bone loss, probably by inhibiting senescence. Targeting senescence in the investigation of diabetic osteoporosis may lead to novel discoveries.

Abstract
The interpretation of imaging in medicine in general and in oncology specifically remains problematic due to several limitations which include the need to incorporate detailed clinical history, patient and disease-specific history, clinical exam features, previous and ongoing treatment, and account for the dependency on reproducible human interpretation of multiple factors with incomplete data linkage. To standardize reporting, minimize bias, expedite management, and improve outcomes, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gained significant prominence in imaging analysis. In oncology, AI methods have as a result been explored in most cancer types with ongoing progress in employing AI towards imaging for oncology treatment, assessing treatment response, and understanding and communicating prognosis. Challenges remain with limited available data sets, variability in imaging changes over time augmented by a growing heterogeneity in analysis approaches. We review the imaging analysis workflow and examine how hand-crafted features also referred to as traditional Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL) approaches, and hybrid analyses, are being employed in AI-driven imaging analysis in central nervous system tumors. ML, DL, and hybrid approaches coexist, and their combination may produce superior results although data in this space is as yet novel, and conclusions and pitfalls have yet to be fully explored. We note the growing technical complexities that may become increasingly separated from the clinic and enforce the acute need for clinician engagement to guide progress and ensure that conclusions derived from AI-driven imaging analysis reflect that same level of scrutiny lent to other avenues of clinical research.

Abstract
Nanocarriers with intrinsic immune adjuvant properties can activate the innate immune system while delivering tumor antigen, thus efficiently facilitating antitumor adaptive immunity. Bacteria-derived outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are an excellent candidate due to their abundance of pathogen associated molecular patterns. However, during the uptake of OMVs by dendritic cells (DCs), the interaction between lipopolysaccharide and toll-like receptor 4 induces rapid DC maturation and uptake blockage, a phenomenon we refer to as "maturation-induced uptake obstruction" (MUO). Herein we decorated OMV with the DC-targeting αDEC205 antibody (OMV-DEC), which endowed the nanovaccine with an uptake mechanism termed as "not restricted to maturation via antibody modifying" (Normandy), thereby overcoming the MUO phenomenon. We also proved the applicability of this nanovaccine in identifying the human tumor neoantigens through rapid antigen display. In summary, this engineered OMV represents a powerful nanocarrier for personalized cancer vaccines, and this antibody modification strategy provides a reference to remodel the DC uptake pattern in nanocarrier design.

Abstract
Iron is an essential element for cell proliferation and homeostasis by engaging in cell metabolism including DNA synthesis, cell cycle, and redox cycling; however, iron overload could contribute to tumor initiation, proliferation, metastasis, and angiogenesis. Therefore, manipulating iron metabolisms, such as using iron chelators, transferrin receptor 1 (TFR1) Abs, and cytotoxic ligands conjugated to transferrin, has become a considerable strategy for cancer therapy. However, there remain major limitations for potential translation to the clinic based on the regulation of iron metabolism in cancer treatment. Nanotechnology has made great advances for cancer treatment by improving the therapeutic potential and lowering the side‐effects of the proved drugs and those under various stages of development. Early studies that combined nanotechnology with therapeutic means for the regulation of iron metabolism have shown certain promise for developing specific treatment options based on the intervention of cancer iron acquisition, transportation, and utilization. In this review, we summarize the current understanding of iron metabolism involved in cancer and review the recent advances in iron‐regulatory nanotherapeutics for improved cancer therapy. We also envision the future development of nanotherapeutics for improved treatment for certain types of cancers.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of apoptosis-associated protein kinase-like 1 (DAPL1) hypomethylation on prognosis of lung cancer patients with epidermal growth factor receptor gene exon 19 deletion (EGFR Del19) mutation. Methods: The clinicopathological data of lung cancer patients in databases of genomic data sharing (GDC) TCGA lung adenocarcinoma, TCGA lung adenocarcinoma, and TCGA lung cancer were collected to analyze the effect of DAPL1 methylation level on the prognosis of patients with EGFR Del19 mutation. Linear regression model was used for correlation analysis, Kaplan-Meier method was used to draw the survival curve, and the difference of survival curve between the two groups was tested by Log rank. Results: In GDC TCGA lung adenocarcinoma, TCGA lung adenocarcinoma and TCGA lung cancer databases, the 5-year survival rates of lung cancer patients with high DAPL1 expression (31.9%, 27.5% and 33.0%, respectively) were higher than those with low DAPL1 expression (11.0%, 11.6% and 13.8%, respectively). The differences were statistically significant (P=0.006, 0.028 and 0.025, respectively). The median expression levels of DAPL1 in patients with EGFR Del19 mutation (12.8, 2.75 and 2.9, respectively) were higher than those in patients with other EGFR mutations (11.6, 1.75 and 1.8, respectively, P<0.05). In TCGA lung adenocarcinoma and TCGA lung cancer database, the 5-year survival rate of lung cancer patients with lower DAPL1 methylation levels (22.4% and 16.4%, respectively) were higher than those of lung cancer patients with higher DAPL1 methylation levels (15.1% and 14.2%, respectively), with statistical significance (P<0.05). The expression level of DAPL1 was positively correlated with the EGFR mutant subtype (r=0.909, P<0.05), and negatively correlated with DNA methylation (r=-0.891, P<0.05). The expression of DAPL1 in lung cancer patients was regulated by DNA methylation, which affected the prognosis of lung cancer patients. Conclusion: High DAPL1 expression, or hypomethylation, is associated with lung cancer EGFR Del19 mutation subtype, and DAPL1 hypomethylated lung cancer patients have longer overall survival.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the influence of different characteristics of implant-supported fixed dental prostheses on the incidence of peri-implant disease. Methods: Prospective cohort was established for patients who received implant-supported fixed dental prostheses at the Department of Prosthodontics, School of Stomatology, The Fourth Military Medical University between June 2014 and September 2015. Several patient-related factors, implant prostheses factors, and oral hygiene maintenance factors were collected. The Log-rank test was used to compare the peri-implant disease rates of various factors, and the Cox proportional hazards model was used to conduct multivariate study on single factor significant factors to analyze the impact on the incidence of peri-implant disease. Results: A total of 214 subjects and 351 implants were included in the cohort, the follow-up period was (11.0±3.5) months. Finally, 43.0% (92/214) of patients and 37.3% (131/351) of implants developed peri-implant diseases. The incidence of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis was 41.1% (88/214) and 4.2% (9/214) at the subject level, and 34.2% (120/351) and 3.1% (11/351) at the implant level. Among the factors associated with the implant prosthesis, single factor Log-rank analysis showed that prostheses retention methods, proximal contact of the prostheses, occlusion situation were statistical significance (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis using Cox proportional hazards model showed that screw retention (hazard ratio=2.38, 95%CI: 1.42-3.99), proximal contact loss of the prostheses (hazard ratio=2.36, 95%CI: 1.31-4.27) were independent risk factors for peri-implant disease (P<0.05). Conclusions: Factors such as prostheses retention mode and proximal contact characteristics have important influence on the health status of the implant.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of applying hydrogel dressings in deep partial-thickness burn wounds after dermabrasion and tangential excision. Methods: A prospective randomized controlled study was conducted. From November 2015 to August 2019, 168 patients with deep partial-thickness burns hospitalized in Zibo Sixth People's Hospital met the inclusion criteria. According to the random number table, the patients were divided into hydrogel dressing+vaseline gauze group (84 cases, 67 males and 17 females) and vaseline gauze only group (84 cases, 65 males and 19 females) who were aged (31±16) and (35±17) years, respectively, and were given corresponding treatment after dermabrasion and tangential excision. The dressings were changed every 3-5 days. Autologous skin grafting was performed with split-thickness or medium-thickness skin grafts taken from trunk or thigh if the wounds failed to heal over 21 days or the wounds were less than 21 days but located in the joints, which might affect the functional activities at later stage. After operation, the general condition of the wounds was observed continuously and dynamically till the wounds were healed. The degree of dressing adhesion was evaluated during the first 4 dressing changes after operation, and the degree of pain was evaluated using Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). The wound healing rate on post operation day (POD) 3, 6, and 15 was calculated. The positive proportion of bacterial culture of wound exudates/cleanout fluid on admission and at dressing change on POD 3, 6, and 15 was calculated. The number of dressing changes were recorded, the rate of skin grafting operation was calculated, and the time of complete wound healing was recorded. Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) was used in 6 months of follow-up to evaluate the hyperplasia of scar. Data were statistically analyzed with analysis of variance for repeated measurement, independent sample t test, Mann-Whitney U test, chi-square test or Fisher's exact probability test, and Bonferroni correction. Results: During the observation period after operation, the wound was moist with less exudates and the wound healed much faster in patients of hydrogel dressing+vaseline gauze group, with the inner dressing being easier to remove with mild pain, while the wounds showed more exudates and slower healing in patients of vaseline gauze only group with the obvious adhesions of inner dressing, stronger pain, and bleeding in the wounds. Compared with those in vaseline gauze only group, the degree of dressing adhesion and pain NRS score of patients in hydrogel dressing+vaseline gauze group decreased significantly during the first 4 dressing changes after operation (χ2=52.625, Z=-10.854, P<0.01), the wound healing rate increased significantly at dressing change on POD 3, 6, and 15 (t=10.347, 41.150, 167.627, P<0.01), the positive proportion of wound exudates/cleanout fluid bacterial culture did not change significantly on admission or at dressing change on POD 3 (P>0.05) but decreased significantly at dressing change on POD 6 and 15 (χ2=15.616, 15.226, P<0.01), the dressing change times was significantly reduced (t=-11.986, P<0.01), and the rate of skin grafting operation was significantly decreased (χ2=35.850, P<0.01). The complete wound healing time of patients in hydrogel dressing+vaseline gauze group was (17.6±2.8) d, significantly shorter than (27.1±3.0) d in vaseline gauze only group (t=-21.288, P<0.01). During the follow-up of 6 months, the VSS score of scar hyperplasia of patients in hydrogel dressing+vaseline gauze group was significantly lower than that in vaseline gauze only group (Z=-11.287, P<0.01). Conclusions: Compared with the use of vaseline gauze only, the application of vaseline gauze coated with hydrogel dressing in deep partial-thickness burn wounds after dermabrasion and tangential excision is more effective in moisturizing, significantly reducing the degree of dressing adhesion and patients' pain during dressing change, increasing wound healing rate, decreasing wound infection rate and the rate of skin grafting operation, and reducing the number of dressing changes. It shortens the time for complete wound healing, and effectively relieves scar hyperplasia.

Abstract
In order to deepen the understanding of the thermochemical behavior of reactive inorganics, which play an important role in slagging and fouling during combustion of agro-stalks, the oxidation behavior of the water-soluble fraction of corn stover, wheat straw and rice straw was examined using a simultaneous thermogravimetric analyzer. The oxidation characteristics were discussed in combination with elemental analysis of water-soluble fractions. Results showed that reactive inorganics elements account for 30–40% in water-soluble fractions of the three agro-stalks and carbon was oxidized at two separate stages. Four stages were found during oxidation of water-soluble fractions – (1) devolatilisation of organics (100‒400 °C); (2) oxidation of char (400–650 °C); (3) oxidation of char with melting of salts or decomposition of carbonate (650–800 °C); (4) vaporization of KCl (800–1000 °C). This work provides a base study for an optimized design of combustion for agro-stalks and pharmaceutical waste.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
DNA 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) modification is an epigenetic marker involved in a range of biological processes. However, little information is available about its role in coronary artery disease (CAD), particularly in the acute phase of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
Aims
To investigate whether 5hmC modification correlates with the pathogenesis and progression of CAD and whether 5hmC in cfDNA can be used as biomarkers.
Methods
We utilized 5hmC-Seal to generate genome-wide 5hmC profiles in plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) of normal coronary artery (NCA, n=200) controls and CAD patients, including stable coronary artery disease (sCAD, n=200) patients and ACS patients (n=371). To investigate the correlation between 5hmC modifications and CAD subtypes, we separated samples into training and validation cohorts and developed a 5hmC-based logistic regression model from the training cohort to predict the progression of CAD in the validation cohort.
Results
We detected a significant difference of 5hmC enrichment in gene bodies from CAD patients compared with NCA individuals. Particularly, our results showed that patients of CAD subgroups can be well separated from NCA individuals by 5hmC markers. The prediction performance of the model established by differentially regulated 5hmC modified genes achieved an AUC of 0.81 (sCAD vs. NCA) and 0.74 (ACS vs. NCA) in validation cohorts.
Conclusions
Our results demonstrated that patients of CAD subtypes and NCA individuals had distinct differences in 5hmC enrichment. 5hmC markers derived from plasma cfDNA may potentially serve as a clinical-applicable, minimally invasive, and liquid biopsy-based approach to diagnose CAD, particularly used to predict the occurrence of fetal ACS.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of a contact-free sleep apnea monitor in Chinese adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Methods: One hundred and ninety-eight participants with snoring were recruited between July 2018 and May 2019 in Sleep Center of Peking University People's Hospital, using nocturnal polysomnography (PSG) and contact-free sleep apnea monitor simultaneously. We evaluated the difference between respiratory event index (REI) generated by contact-free sleep apnea monitor and PSG-Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI). We calculated the sensitivity and specificity of OSA diagnosis using the contact-free sleep apnea monitor by hypothesis testing for means, Pearson correlation coefficient and Bland-Altman plots. Then, we used the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve to find out the best cut-off of OSA diagnosis. Results: PSG-AHI and the REI of contact-free sleep apnea monitor showed no statistically significant difference [15.9 (4.7, 40.2) vs. 16.2 (6.1, 40.0), P=0.381], and they were significantly correlated (r=0.914, P<0.05), with mean difference of -0.06 (95%CI:-18.44, 18.31). The ROC curve showed that if REI ≥5 events/h was used as diagnostic criteria, the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosing OSA were 91.2% and 58.0%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of the contact-free sleep apnea monitor REI≥13.3 in diagnosing moderate and severe OSA were 90.1% and 71.1%, respectively. Conclusion: The REI obtained from the contact-free sleep apnea monitor showed a good agreement with the PSG-AHI, and therefore, the contact-free sleep apnea monitor can be used for the screening of patients with moderate and severe OSA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We evaluated the modified anterior midline approach and its efficacy for hyperextension bicondylar tibial plateau (HEBTP) fractures. METHODS From 2015 to 2019, 18 patients with HEBTP fractures with just little posterior cortical displacement were treated using the modified anterior midline approach. The operative protocols are fully described in this article, and the following parameters: articular step-off height (ASH), posterior tibial slope angle (pTSA), and medial tibial plateau angle (mTPA) were measured perioperatively and at the final follow-up. We also recorded the Rasmussen score and range of motion (ROM) to assess knee joint function at the final follow-up. RESULTS No complications, such as percutaneous nerve damage, infection, skin necrosis, and internal fixation breakage or loosening occurred perioperatively. The mean time for bony union was 13.7 weeks, and the mean preoperative ASH of the anterior cortex was 4.49 mm; this was restored to its normal height after surgery. The mean preoperative pTSA and mTPA were - 5.89° and 81.69°, respectively, compared with 3.89° and 87.91°, respectively, postoperatively. Comparing the postoperative and final follow-up radiographs, there were no significant differences in ASH, pTSA, and mTPA (P < 0.05). The average Rasmussen score was 27.2 (range, 23-29) at the final follow-up. Excellent results were achieved in 14 (77.8%) patients and good in 4 (22.2%) patients. The mean ROM in flexion was 123.2° and 2.9° in extension at the final follow-up. CONCLUSIONS This study suggested that the modified anterior midline approach is a reasonable alternative for HEBTP fracture repair.

Abstract
Flatheads in family Platycephalidae are ecologically and commercially important marine fish species in the Indo-West Pacific. Due to similar morphological characters, the taxonomy and phylogenetics of flatheads are in confusion. Studies on phylogenetics and molecular marker development are required to discriminate congeners of flatheads. In the present study, we performed whole genome survey sequencing of crocodile flathead Cociella crocodilus to provide genomic information and genetic markers of this species. In total, 54.03 Gb of clean genomic data were generated. The genome size was estimated to be 732.99 Mb with the heterozygosity ratio of 0.73% and the repeat sequence ratio of 33.48%. The preliminary assembled genome sequences were 794.07 Mb with contig N50 of 1504 bp. We detected 2 624 875 genome-wide SNPs with transition/transversion ratio of 1.422. A total of 313 842 microsatellite motifs were identified, most of which were dinucleotide motifs with a frequency of 74.89%. In addition, we assembled the complete mitogenome of C. crocodilus and subsequent phylogenetic analysis were performed. Phylogenetic analyses revealed numbers of polyphyletic groups in family Platycephalidae. The reported genomic data and genetic markers in our study should be useful in further phylogeny and phylogenomics studies of flathead species.
