Abstract
An amplitude analysis of flavor-untagged B_{s}^{0}→J/ψpp[over ¯] decays is performed using a sample of 797±31 decays reconstructed with the LHCb detector. The data, collected in proton-proton collisions between 2011 and 2018, correspond to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. Evidence for a new structure in the J/ψp and J/ψp[over ¯] systems with a mass of 4337_{-4}^{+7} _{-2}^{+2} MeV and a width of 29_{-12}^{+26} _{-14}^{+14} MeV is found, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, with a significance in the range of 3.1 to 3.7σ, depending on the assigned J^{P} hypothesis.

Abstract
Branching fraction and effective lifetime measurements of the rare decay B_{s}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} and searches for the decays B^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} and B_{s}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-}γ are reported using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to a luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. The branching fraction B(B_{s}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})=(3.09_{-0.43-0.11}^{+0.46+0.15})×10^{-9} and the effective lifetime τ(B_{s}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})=2.07±0.29±0.03 ps are measured, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. No significant signal for B^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} and B_{s}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-}γ decays is found and upper limits B(B^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})<2.6×10^{-10} and B(B_{s}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-}γ)<2.0×10^{-9} at the 95% C.L. are determined, where the latter is limited to the range m_{μμ}>4.9 GeV/c^{2}. The results are in agreement with the standard model expectations.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the genetic basis for a child with Rothmund-Thomson syndrome (RTS). METHODS The child has featured poikeloderma, short stature, cataract, sparse hair and skeletal malformation. Peripheral blood samples of the child and her family members were collected and subjected to whole exome sequencing. Candidate variants were verified by Sanger sequencing. RESULTS The child was found to harbor compound heterozygous variants of the RECQL4 gene, namely c.1048_1049delAG and c.2886-1G>A, among which c.2886-1G>A was unreported previously. According to the ACMG guidelines, the c.1048_1049delAG was predicted to be pathogenic (PVS1+PM3_Strong+PM2), while the c.2886-1G>A was predicted to be likely pathogenic (PVS1+PM2). CONCLUSION The compound heterozygous variants of the RECQL4 gene probably underlay the pathogenesis of RTS in this patient. Above finding has enriched the mutational spectrum of the RECQL4 gene.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Childhood obesity is rapidly rising in China and effective diet interventions are needed. Here, we determine whether the Chinese government-recommended diet (GRD) or a modified diet of further restriction of sugar and ultra-processed food but without energy restriction, minimally processed diet (MPD) is effective on weight loss in children and adolescents with obesity/overweight. METHODS AND STUDY DESIGN This open-label, randomized study included 60 children and adolescents between 5-18 years old with overweight/obesity. Participants were randomized 1:1 to the GRD or MPD and self-managed at home for 12 weeks. Both groups received general recommendations in physical activities. The changes were evaluated in body weight, fasting glucose and insulin, lipid metabolism and serum uric acid between baseline and week 12. RESULTS The results indicated great reductions by time for BMI, BMI z-score, fat mass percentage and fat mass index in both groups. An obvious decrease by time for weight was found in the MPD group (p<0.001) as well as fasting glucose (p=0.005), fasting insulin (p=0.001), total cholesterol (p=0.007) and serum uric acid (p=0.006). As for the amount of visceral fat, greater reduction by time was observed in MPD group compared with GRD group. CONCLUSIONS A 12-week self-intervention combining the Chinese government-recommended diet with physical activities was effective on weight loss in children and adolescents with overweight/obesity. The minimally processed diet was more effective on decreasing visceral fat mass and may be beneficial to improving insulin resistance. Further studies are required to assess long-term outcomes of the general public.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic condition associated with multiple complications that substantially affect both the quality of life and the life-span of children. Untargeted Metabolomics has provided new insights into disease pathogenesis and risk assessment. METHODS In this study, we characterized the serum metabolic profiles of 76 children with T1D and 65 gender- and age- matched healthy controls using gas chromatography coupled with timeof-flight mass spectrometry. In parallel, we comprehensively evaluated the clinical phenome of T1D patients, including routine blood and urine tests, and concentrations of cytokines, hormones, proteins, and trace elements. RESULTS A total of 70 differential metabolites covering 11 metabolic pathways associated with T1D were identified, which were mainly carbohydrates, indoles, unsaturated fatty acids, amino acids, and organic acids. Subgroup analysis revealed that the metabolic changes were consistent among pediatric patients at different ages or gender but were closely associated with the duration of the disease. DISCUSSION Carbohydrate metabolism, unsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis, and gut microbial metabolism were identified as distinct metabolic features of pediatric T1D. These metabolic changes were also associated with T1D, which may provide important insights into the pathogenesis of the complications associated with diabetes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to outline the clinical characteristics of pediatric NAFLD, as well as establish and validate a prediction model for the disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS The retrospective study enrolled 3216 children with obesity from January 2003 to May 2021. They were divided into obese without NAFLD, nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFL), and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) groups. Clinical data were retrieved, and gender and chronologic characteristics were compared between groups. Data from the training set (3036) were assessed using univariate analyses and stepwise multivariate logistic regression, by which a nomogram was developed to estimate the probability of NAFLD. Another 180 cases received additional liver hydrogen proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) as a validation set. RESULTS The prevalence of NAFLD was higher in males than in females and has increased over the last 19 years. In total, 1915 cases were NAFLD, and the peak onset age was 10-12 years old. Hyperuricemia ranked first in childhood NAFLD comorbidities, followed by dyslipidemia, hypertension, metabolic syndrome (MetS), and dysglycemia. The AUROC of the eight-parameter nomogram, including waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), hip circumference (HC), triglyceride glucose-waist circumference (TyG-WC), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), apolipoprotein A1(ApoA1), insulin sensitivity index [ISI (composite)], and gender, for predicting NAFLD was 0.913 (sensitivity 80.70%, specificity 90.10%). Calibration curves demonstrated a great calibration ability of the model. CONCLUSION AND RELEVANCE NAFLD is the most common complication in children with obesity. The nomogram based on anthropometric and laboratory indicators performed well in predicting NAFLD. This can be used as a quick screening tool to assess pediatric NAFLD in children with obesity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To evaluate the safety and efficacy of daily somatropin (Jintropin®), a recombinant human growth hormone, in prepubertal children with ISS in China. METHODS This study was a multicenter, randomized, controlled, open-label, phase 3 study. All subjects were randomized 3:1 to daily somatropin 0.05 mg/kg/day or no treatment for 52 weeks. A total of 481 subjects with a mean baseline age of 5.8 years were enrolled in the study. The primary endpoint was change in (△) height standard deviation score (HT-SDS) for chronological age (CA). Secondary endpoints included △height from baseline; △bone age (BA)/CA; △height velocity (HV) and △insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1 SDS). RESULTS △HT-SDS at week 52 was 1.04 ± 0.31 in the treatment group and 0.20 ± 0.33 in the control group (P < 0.001). At week 52, statistical significance was observed in the treatment group compared with control for △height (10.19 ± 1.47 cm vs. 5.85 ± 1.80 cm; P < 0.001), △BA/CA (0.04 ± 0.09 vs. 0.004 ± 0.01; P < 0.001), △HV (5.17 ± 3.70 cm/year vs. 0.75 ± 4.34 cm/year; P < 0.001), and △IGF-1 SDS (2.31 ± 1.20 vs. 0.22 ± 0.98; P < 0.001). The frequencies of treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were similar for the treatment and the control groups (89.8% vs. 82.4%); most TEAEs were mild to moderate in severity and 23 AEs were considered study-drug related. CONCLUSIONS Daily subcutaneous administration of somatropin at 0.05 mg/kg/day for 52 weeks demonstrated improvement in growth outcomes and was well tolerated with a favorable safety profile. Abstract
BACKGROUND Leuprorelin is an analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone that is used for the therapy of central precocious puberty (CPP). The aims of this prospective, open label, multicenter clinical trial were to establish its efficacy and safety during long-term use. METHODS Patients, who were all children, were treated with 1.88 to 3.75 mg leuprorelin subcutaneously once every 4 weeks for a total of 96 weeks between 2015 and 2018. The primary endpoint was the rate of occurrence of adverse events (AEs) and the secondary endpoint was no progression in the Tanner stage or regression by week 96 compared to baseline. RESULTS A total of 307 CPP patients, 305 (99.3%) females and 2 males (0.7%), completed the 96-weeks of treatment. Due to limited data for male patients, they are not discussed in the efficacy results. Treatment-emergent AEs (TEAEs) were reported for 252 (82.1%) patients, mostly (79.5%) being mild or moderate and only 33 (10.7%) of patients experienced TEAEs related to leuprorelin therapy. The most frequent (>2%) drug-related TEAEs were injection site induration (4.6%, 14/307) and vaginal bleeding (2.3%, 7/305). After treatment, 83.5% of patients had regression or no progression in the Tanner stage (95% confidence interval: 78.68%, 87.62%) and the majority had decreased gonadotropin-releasing hormone-stimulated peak luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone concentrations, as well as reduced sex hormone concentrations and a reduction in the bone age/chronological age ratio compared to baseline. CONCLUSIONS The trial revealed that CPP was effectively treated in most patients who received leuprorelin for nearly 2 years. Any drug-related AEs were reported with low incidence (<5%) and were consistent with the known safety profile of leuprorelin. TRIAL REGISTRATION The trial was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (registration number: NCT02427958).

Abstract
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) show a large overlap in clinical presentation, which presents diagnostic challenges. As a consequence, invasive and burdensome endoscopies are often used to distinguish between IBD and IBS. Here, we aimed to develop a noninvasive fecal test that can distinguish between IBD and IBS and reduce the number of endoscopies. We used shotgun metagenomic sequencing to analyze the composition and function of gut microbiota of 169 IBS patients, 447 IBD patients and 1044 population controls and measured fecal Calprotectin (FCal), human beta defensin 2 (HBD2), and chromogranin A (CgA) in these samples. These measurements were used to construct training sets (75% of data) for logistic regression and machine learning models to differentiate IBS from IBD and inactive from active IBD. The results were replicated on test sets (remaining 25% of the data) and microbiome data obtained using 16S sequencing.Fecal HBD2 showed high sensitivity and specificity for differentiating between IBD and IBS (sensitivity = 0.89, specificity = 0.76), while the inclusion of microbiome data with biomarkers (HBD2 and FCal) showed a potential for improvement in predictive power (optimal sensitivity = 0.87, specificity = 0.93). Shotgun sequencing-based models produced comparable results using 16S-sequencing data. HBD2 and FCal were found to have predictive power for IBD disease activity (AUC ≈ 0.7).HBD2 is a novel biomarker for IBD in patients with gastro-intestinal complaints, especially when used in combination with FCal and potentially in combination with gut microbiome data.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Recessive WFS1 mutations are known to cause Wolfram syndrome, a very rare systemic disorder. However, they were also found in non-syndromic diabetes in Han Chinese misdiagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D), a molecular cause that appears to be considerably more common than the fully expressed syndrome. We aimed to better define the incidence and clinical features of non-syndromic diabetes due to recessive WFS1 mutation. DESIGN We analyzed the genotype and phenotype of 320 consecutive incident Chinese pediatric diabetic patients diagnosed from 2016 to 2019 to search for non-syndromic diabetic cases due to recessive WFS1 mutation. METHODS A cohort of 105 pancreatic autoantibody-negative patients were recruited for exome sequencing. All patients tested positive for pathogenic diallelic WFS1 mutations were examined for phenotypic features (fundoscopy, audiogram, and urine density). RESULTS We found three cases of non-syndromic diabetes due to recessive WFS1 mutations (incidence = 0.94% (95% CI: 0.25-2.7%)). All three cases only had mild diabetes when diagnosed. All patients had well-conserved fasting C-peptide when diagnosed but one of them progressed to T1D-like insulin deficiency. In addition, we found a fourth case with previously undetected features of Wolfram syndrome. CONCLUSIONS Non-syndromic diabetes due to WFS1 mutation may be common among Chinese pediatric patients with diabetes. It is important to differentiate it from other maturity-onset diabetes in the young subtypes with similar phenotype by molecular diagnosis because of different prognosis and, potentially, therapy.

Abstract
Resuscitation-promoting factors (Rpfs) belong to peptidoglycan hydrolases, which participate in recovery of dormant cells and promoting bacteria growth. In this study, the resuscitation promoting factor rpf2 gene of Rhodococcus erythropolis KB1 was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified by Ni2+ affinity chromatography. The purified recombinant fusion protein Rpf2 showed a closely 50 kDa band on sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The protein showed muralytic activity, with a specific activity of 1503 ± 123 U mg-1 when determined with 4-methylumbelliferyl-β-d-N, N',N″-triacetotri-ylchitoside as substrate. It also showed protease activity when measured with azocasein as substrate, with a specific activity of 1528 ± 411 U mg-1 . The addition of the recombinant Rpf2 protein significantly increased petroleum degradation efficiency of the indigenous micro-organisms and the petroleum degradation rates increased from 30·86 to 43·45%, 45·20 and 49·23% in the treatment groups. The recombinant protein also increased the petroleum-degrading bacterial diversities enriched from the contaminated soils. The cultivable bacterial flora of the treatment groups supplemented with different concentrations of Rpf2 increased from 82 genera in 9 phyla to 116 genera in 16 phyla and 138 genera in 16 phyla respectively. Thirteen extra petroleum-degrading bacteria strains were isolated from the petroleum-contaminated soils in the groups containing the recombinant Rpf2.

Abstract
Proopiomelanocortin-positive amacrine cells (POMC ACs) were first discovered in adult mouse retinas in 2010; however, the development of POMC-ACs has not been studied. We bred POMC-EGFP mice to label POMC-positive cells and investigated the development of POMC neurons from embryonic to adult stages. We found that POMC neuron development is mainly divided into three stages: the embryonic stage, the closed-eye stage, and the open-eye stage. Each stage has unique characteristics. In the embryonic stage, POMC neurons appeared in the retina at about E13. There was a cell number developmental peak at E15, followed by a steep decline at E16. POMC neurons showed a large soma and increased spine numbers at the closed-eye stage, and two dendritic sublaminas formed in the inner plexiform layer (IPL). The appearance and increased soma size and dendrite numbers did not occur continuously in space. We found that the soma number was asymmetric between the superior and inferior retinas according to the developmental topographic map. Density peaked in the superior retina, which existed persistently in the retinal ganglion cell layer (GCL), but disappeared from the inner nuclear layer (INL) at about P6. At the same time, the soma distribution in the INL was the most regular. At the open-eye stage, the development of POMC neurons was nearly stable only with only an increase in the IPL width, which increased the soma–dendrite distance.

Abstract
CONTEXT Although gonadotropin-releasing hormone stimulation test (GnRHST) is the gold standard in diagnosing central precocious puberty (CPP), it is invasive, expensive, and time-consuming, requiring multiple blood samples to measure gonadotropin levels. OBJECTIVE We evaluated whether urinary hormones could be potential biomarkers for prepuberty or postpuberty, aiming to simplify the current diagnosis and prognosis procedure. METHODS We performed a cross-sectional study of a total of 355 girls with CPP in National Clinical Research Center for Child Health in China, including 258 girls with positive and 97 girls with negative results from GnRHST. Twenty patients received GnRH analogue (GnRHa) treatment and completed a 6-month follow up. We measured luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol, prolactin, progesterone, testosterone, and human chorionic gonadotropin in the first morning voided urine samples. RESULTS Their urinary LH levels and the ratios of LH to FSH increased significantly with the advancement in Tanner stages. uLH levels were positively associated with basal and peak LH levels in the serum after GnRH stimulation. A cutoff value of 1.74 IU/L for uLH reached a sensitivity of 69.4% and a specificity of 75.3% in predicting a positive GnRHST result. For the combined threshold (uLH ≥ 1.74 + uLH-to-uFSH ratio > 0.4), the specificity reached 86.6%. After 3 months of GnRHa therapy, the uLH and uFSH levels decreased accordingly. CONCLUSION uLH could be a reliable biomarker for initial CPP diagnosis and screening; uLH could also be an effective marker for evaluating the efficacy of clinical treatment.

Abstract
The branching fraction of the rare B_{s}^{0}→ϕμ^{+}μ^{-} decay is measured using data collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1, 2, and 6 fb^{-1}, respectively. The branching fraction is reported in intervals of q^{2}, the square of the dimuon invariant mass. In the q^{2} region between 1.1 and 6.0 GeV^{2}/c^{4}, the measurement is found to lie 3.6 standard deviations below a standard model prediction based on a combination of light cone sum rule and lattice QCD calculations. In addition, the first observation of the rare B_{s}^{0}→f_{2}^{'}(1525)μ^{+}μ^{-} decay is reported with a statistical significance of 9 standard deviations and its branching fraction is determined.

Abstract
Objectives: To investigate the prevalence of cough and its influencing factors in community children under 5 years old. Methods: From October to December 2019, we selected 3 102 community children under the age of 5 from 50 natural villages/residential communities in 14 towns/streets of Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, using multi-stage random sampling method. A face-to-face and on-site questionnaire survey was conducted among child caregivers to collect demographic data and information about children's cough in the last 1 month. Multiple logistic regression model was used to analyze children's cough and the influencing factors of different cough states. Results: Multivariate logistic regression model analysis results showed that compared with 0-1 year old, dispersed, caregivers with education level below high school, families with 1 child under 5 years old, Cough risk was higher in 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 years old, nurseries, caregivers with education level of high school or above, and families with more than 2 children under 5 years old. OR (95%CI) values were 1.52(1.19-1.92), 1.65(1.29-2.10), 1.86(1.36-2.54), 2.59(1.99-3.38), 1.48(1.26-1.74) and 1.35(1.13-1.62), respectively. Further analysis of the influencing factors of different states of cough, multivariate logistic regression model analysis results showed that preschool status, the number of children under 5 years old in the family and the education level of caregivers were the influencing factors of acute, prolonged and chronic cough. Age was only an influencing factor of acute and persistent cough. Conclusions: The disease burden of cough in children under 5 years old community was heavy, and the cough was related to children's age, education level of caregivers, number of children under 5 years old in the family and childcare status.

Abstract
IMPORTANCE Obesity is a public health challenge in China, but the geographical profiles of overweight and obesity among Chinese children are limited. OBJECTIVE To examine regional disparities in the prevalence of obesity among the heterogeneous population of Chinese children and adolescents to provide a more accurate profile of obesity among children in China. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS The Prevalence and Risk Factors for Obesity and Diabetes in Youth (PRODY) study was a cross-sectional survey study conducted from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2019, among 201 098 children aged 3 to 18 years from 11 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities that produced a sample of Chinese children with a full range of ages and wide geographical coverage using a multistage, stratified, cluster-sampling design. EXPOSURES Five regions geographically representative of China (northern, eastern, southern, western, and central). MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES The body weights and heights of all participants were measured. Multilevel, multinomial logistic regression models were used to estimate the prevalence of overweight and obesity. RESULTS Among 201 098 healthy children (105 875 boys [52.6%]; mean [SD] age, 9.8 [3.8] years) from eastern, southern, northern, central, and western China, the highest obesity prevalence was estimated for children aged 8 to 13 years in northern China (from 18.8% [95% CI, 16.2%-21.7%] to 23.6% [95% CI, 20.5%-26.9%]) and for boys aged 3 to 6 years in western China (from 18.1% [95% CI, 10.4%-29.4%] to 28.6% [95% CI, 14.3%-49.0%]). Boys had a higher prevalence than girls of obesity only in eastern and northern China, with a mean difference in prevalence of 4.6% (95% CI, 3.8%-5.4%) and 7.6% (95% CI, 6.5%-8.6%), respectively. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE In this survey study, substantial geographic disparities in the prevalence of obesity and overweight were found among the heterogeneous population of Chinese children. The results suggest that special attention should be paid to vulnerable children and that regionally adapted interventions are needed to efficiently mitigate obesity in children.

Abstract
Cisplatin, an anticancer drug used in treating various types of cancers, can cause reproductive toxicities during chemotherapy. Keeping this in view, the present study was designed to investigate the possible protective effects of normal vitamin C and E and vitamin C and E nanoparticles (embedded in chitosan) against cisplatin-induced reproductive toxicities. Vitamins C, E, and their nanoparticles in this regard proved to be an effective therapy. The work aimed to treat cisplatin-induced reproductive toxicities through vitamin C and E and their nanoparticles. Cisplatin exposure caused significant reduction in the weight, testosterone level, and changed lipid profile. Similarly, cisplatin induced significant widespread testicular atrophy and testicular lesions as evidenced by the gaps in the epithelium and loss of differentiating germ cells. Vitamin C and E and their nanoparticles rescued the weight, testosterone level, and testicular disturbances, which is associated with improved histological view of testicular tissues. The current study highlights evidence that designing a medication of vitamin C and E nanoparticles is useful in mitigating cisplatin-induced reproductive toxicity in cancerous male patients underlying chemotherapy.

Abstract
Searches for the lepton number violating K^{+}→π^{-}μ^{+}e^{+} decay and the lepton flavor violating K^{+}→π^{+}μ^{-}e^{+} and π^{0}→μ^{-}e^{+} decays are reported using data collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN in 2017-2018. No evidence for these decays is found and upper limits of the branching ratios are obtained at 90% confidence level: B(K^{+}→π^{-}μ^{+}e^{+})<4.2×10^{-11}, B(K^{+}→π^{+}μ^{-}e^{+})<6.6×10^{-11} and B(π^{0}→μ^{-}e^{+})<3.2×10^{-10}. These results improve by 1 order of magnitude over previous results for these decay modes.

Observation of the Mass Difference between Neutral Charm-Meson Eigenstates. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 127:111801. Abstract
A measurement of mixing and CP violation in neutral charm mesons is performed using data reconstructed in proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment from 2016 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb^{-1}. A total of 30.6 million D^{0}→K_{S}^{0}π^{+}π^{-} decays are analyzed using a method optimized for the measurement of the mass difference between neutral charm-meson eigenstates. Allowing for CP violation in mixing and in the interference between mixing and decay, the mass and decay-width differences are measured to be x_{CP}=[3.97±0.46(stat)±0.29(syst)]×10^{-3} and y_{CP}=[4.59±1.20(stat)±0.85(syst)]×10^{-3}, respectively. The CP-violating parameters are measured as Δx=[-0.27±0.18(stat)±0.01(syst)]×10^{-3} and Δy=[0.20±0.36(stat)±0.13(syst)]×10^{-3}. This is the first observation of a nonzero mass difference in the D^{0} meson system, with a significance exceeding seven standard deviations. The data are consistent with CP symmetry and improve existing constraints on the associated parameters.

Abstract
AIMS To explore the contagiousness and new SARS-CoV-2 mutations in pediatric COVID-19. METHODS This cohort study enrolled all pediatric patients admitted to 8 hospitals in Zhejiang Province of China between 21 January and 29 February 2020, their family members and close-contact classmates. Epidemiological, demographic, clinical and laboratory data were collected. Bioinformatics was used to analyze the features of SARS-CoV-2. Individuals were divided into 3 groups by the first-generation case: Groups 1 (unclear), 2 (adult), and 3 (child). The secondary attack rate (SAR) and R0 were compared among the groups. RESULTS The infection rate among 211 individuals was 64% (135/211). The SAR in Groups 2 and 3 was 71% (73/103) and 3% (1/30), respectively; the median R0 in Groups 2 and 3 was 2 (range: 1-8) and 0 (range: 0-1), respectively. Compared with adult cases, the SAR and R0 of pediatric cases were significantly lower (p<0.05). We obtained SARS-CoV-2 sequences from the same infant's throat and fecal samples at a two-month interval and found that the new spike protein A958D mutation detected in the stool improved thermostability theoretically. CONCLUSIONS Children have lower ability to spread SARS-CoV-2. The new A958D mutation is a potential reason for its long residence in the intestine.

The safety and efficacy of transarterial chemoembolisation with bleomycin for hepatocellular carcinoma unresponsive to doxorubicin: a prospective single-centre study. Abstract
AIM To investigate the safety and efficacy of transarterial chemoembolisation (TACE) with bleomycin for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) unresponsive to doxorubicin. MATERIALS AND METHODS A randomised controlled trial was undertaken of HCC patients resistant to TACE with doxorubicin to assess the survival benefits of the experimental group (TACE with bleomycin) compared with the control group (TACE with doxorubicin). One hundred and seventy patients were allocated randomly between December 2015 and December 2017, and 80 patients of each group were analysed. The modified response evaluation criteria in solid tumours (mRECIST) was used to evaluated the tumour response every 4-6 weeks. The primary endpoint was median progression-free survival (mPFS) and median overall survival (mOS). Safety was assessed by post-procedure complications. RESULTS The study was completed in October 2018. Objective response rate (ORR) of the experimental group was 27.5% (22/80), mPFS and mOS was 5.8 and 8.1 months. ORR of the control group was 7.5% (6/80), mPFS and mOS was 2.9 and 4 months. The ORR were significantly different between two groups (χ2 = 0.348, p<0.05). The differences of mPFS and mOS between the two groups were statistically significant (χ2 = 2.865, p<0.05 and χ2 = 0.926, p<0.05, respectively). There were no significant difference in post-procedure complications (p>0.05) and no major complications occurred. CONCLUSION It is suggested that TACE with bleomycin is a safe and effective method for HCC and bleomycin can be a second-line chemotherapeutic agent for the HCC patients unresponsive to TACE with doxorubicin.

Observation of New Resonances Decaying to J/ψK^{+} and J/ψϕ. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 127:082001. [PMID: 34477418 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.127.082001] [Citation(s) in RCA: 5] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.7] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 03/02/2021] [Accepted: 07/07/2021] [Indexed: 06/13/2023]
Abstract
The first observation of exotic states with a new quark content cc[over ¯]us[over ¯] decaying to the J/ψK^{+} final state is reported with high significance from an amplitude analysis of the B^{+}→J/ψϕK^{+} decay. The analysis is carried out using proton-proton collision data corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. The most significant state, Z_{cs}(4000)^{+}, has a mass of 4003±6_{-14}^{+4} MeV, a width of 131±15±26 MeV, and spin parity J^{P}=1^{+}, where the quoted uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. A new 1^{+} X(4685) state decaying to the J/ψϕ final state is also observed with high significance. In addition, the four previously reported J/ψϕ states are confirmed and two more exotic states, Z_{cs}(4220)^{+} and X(4630), are observed with significance exceeding 5 standard deviations.
