Abstract
The development of C(sp3 )-H functionalization reactions that use common protecting groups and practical oxidants remains a significant challenge. Herein we report a monoprotected aminoethyl thioether (MPAThio) ligand-enabled β-C(sp3 )-H lactamization of tosyl-protected aliphatic amides using tert-butyl hydrogen peroxide (TBHP) as the sole oxidant. This protocol features exceedingly mild reaction conditions, reliable scalability, and the use of practical oxidants and protecting groups. Further derivatization of the β-lactam products enables the synthesis of a range of biologically important motifs including β-amino acids, γ-amino alcohols, and azetidines.

Abstract
Palladium-catalyzed intermolecular amination of unactivated C(sp3)-H bonds was developed. Using NFSI as both the amino source and the oxidant, this protocol operates under mild conditions with excellent terminal selectivity and a broad substrate scope. Moreover, the directing group can be easily removed to produce 1,2-amino alcohols.

Abstract
The functionalization of C(sp3 )-H bonds streamlines chemical synthesis by allowing the use of simple molecules and providing novel synthetic disconnections. Intensive recent efforts in the development of new reactions based on C-H functionalization have led to its wider adoption across a range of research areas. This Review discusses the strengths and weaknesses of three main approaches: transition-metal-catalyzed C-H activation, 1,n-hydrogen atom transfer, and transition-metal-catalyzed carbene/nitrene transfer, for the directed functionalization of unactivated C(sp3 )-H bonds. For each strategy, the scope, the reactivity of different C-H bonds, the position of the reacting C-H bonds relative to the directing group, and stereochemical outcomes are illustrated with examples in the literature. The aim of this Review is to provide guidance for the use of C-H functionalization reactions and inspire future research in this area.

Abstract
Arylamines constitute the core structure of many therapeutic agents, agrochemicals, and organic materials. The development of methods for the efficient and selective construction of these structural motifs from simple building blocks is desirable but still challenging. We demonstrate that protonated electron-poor O-aryl hydroxylamines give aminium radicals in the presence of Ru(bpy)3 Cl2 . These highly electrophilic species undergo polarized radical addition to aromatic compounds in high yield and selectivity. We successfully applied this method to the late-stage modification of chiral catalyst templates, therapeutic agents, and natural products.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed oxidative C(sp3 )-H/N-H coupling of NH-heterocycles with affordable (cyclo)alkanes has been developed. This procedure involves C(sp3 )-N bond formation through a radical pathway generated by homolytic cleavage of di-tert-butyl peroxide and trapping of the radical(s) by copper catalysts. The reaction tolerates a series of functional groups, such as bromo, fluoro, ester, ketone, nitrile, methyl, and methoxy. free-NH-containing indoles, pyrroles, pyrazoles, indazoles, and benzotriazoles are successfully N-alkylated.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed regioselective and stereospecific aminoboration of vinylsilanes with bis(pinacolato)diboron (pinB-Bpin) and hydroxylamines has been developed. In the presence of a CuCl/MeO-dppbz catalyst, the boryl group and amino group are incorporated at the β position and α position, respectively, and the corresponding β-boryl-α-aminosilanes are obtained with good diastereoselectivity. The boryl group is a good latent functional group, and subsequent manipulations provide a variety of β-functionalized α-aminosilanes of great potential in medicinal chemistry. Additionally, preliminary application to asymmetric catalysis is also described.

Abstract
Aza-Heck cyclizations initiated by oxidative addition of Pd(0) -catalysts into the N-O bond of N-(pentafluoro-benzoyloxy)sulfonamides are described. These studies, which encompass only the second class of aza-Heck reaction developed to date, provide direct access to diverse N-heterocyclic ring systems.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed electrophilic amination has been developed into a powerful tool for C-N bond construction. So far, O-benzoylhydroxylamines are the most widely used electrophilic aminating reagents. Herein, we summarize the recent advances of O-benzoylhydroxylamines involved in electrophilic amination catalyzed by transition metals. Several pioneering studies and some of the relevant mechanisms are discussed in this review.
