Biological Evaluation of Azo‐ and Imino‐Based Carboxylate Triphenyltin(IV) Compounds

Hydrazo Pyrazole-Pyridone Fluorescent tag for NLO, Live cell imaging, LFPs visualization, Photophysical probing, and Electrochemical sensor for Dopamine detection

The present communication reports on the synthesis of a novel methyl-pyridone azo fluorescent tag (MPAFT) were proven through 1H (NMR), FT-IR, UV-vis, and high-resolution mass spectrometry. The quantum chemical parameters of MPAFT were evaluated using density functional theory (DFT) analysis. It was further investigated for its latent fingerprint (LFPs) in various surfaces and anticounterfeiting applications. By exposing Level I-Level III, ridge features to UV light with a wavelength of 365 nm, a bioimaging investigation has also demonstrated the potential of MPAFT's emission behaviour. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) at MPAFT/MGCE (modified glassy carbon electrode) were used to explore the electrochemical sensitivity and reliable detection of dopamine (DA) in neutral PBS (pH 7) electrolyte solution, and the results show good sensitivity and detection. The lower detection limit for LSV was 0.81 μM under optimum conditions.

Iodine-mediated oxidative triple functionalization of indolines with azoles and diazonium salts

We report an innovative synthetic strategy for the generation of polysubstituted indoles from indolines, aryldiazonium salts, and azoles. The methodology encompasses an electrophilic substitution reaction affording C5-indoline intermediates which undergo an iodine-mediated oxidative transformation coupled with C-H functionalization to yield the indole derivatives.

One-pot multicomponent synthesis of novel pyridine derivatives for antidiabetic and antiproliferative activities

Background: Due to the close relationship of diabetes with hypertension reported in various research, a set of pyridine derivatives with US FDA-approved drug cores were designed and integrated by artificial intelligence. Methods: Novel pyridines were designed and synthesized. Compounds MNS-1-MNS-4 were evaluated for their structure and were screened for their in vitro antidiabetic (α-amylase) activity and anticancer (HepG2) activity by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay. Comparative 3D quantitative structure-activity relationship analysis and pharmacophore generation were carried out. Results: The study revealed MNS-1 and MNS-4 as good alternatives to acarbose as antidiabetic agents, and MNS-2 as a more viable, better alternative to doxorubicin in the methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay. Conclusion: This combination of studies identifies new and more active analogs of existing FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of diabetes.

Biological Activity of Oleanolic Acid Derivatives HIMOXOL and Br-HIMOLID in Breast Cancer Cells Is Mediated by ER and EGFR

Breast cancer is one of the most frequently observed malignancies worldwide and represents a heterogeneous group of cancers. For this reason, it is crucial to properly diagnose every single case so a specific and efficient therapy can be adjusted. One of the most critical diagnostic parameters evaluated in cancer tissue is the status of the estrogen receptor (ER) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Interestingly, the expression of the indicated receptors may be used in a personalized therapy approach. Importantly, the promising role of phytochemicals in the modulation of pathways controlled by ER and EGFR was also demonstrated in several types of cancer. One such biologically active compound is oleanolic acid, but due to poor water solubility and cell membrane permeability that limits its use, alternative derivative compounds were developed. These are HIMOXOL and Br-HIMOLID, which were demonstrated to be capable of inducing apoptosis and autophagy or diminishing the migratory and invasive potential of breast cancer cells in vitro. In our study, we revealed that proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis, autophagy, and also the migratory potential of HIMOXOL and Br-HIMOLID in breast cancer cells are mediated by ER (MCF7) and EGFR (MDA-MB-231) receptors. These observations make the studied compounds interesting in the context of anticancer strategies.

Bioanalytical applications of Mössbauer spectroscopy

Data on the applications of Mössbauer spectroscopy in the transmission (mainly on 57Fe nuclei) and emission (on 57Co nuclei) variants for analytical studies at the molecular level of metal-containing components in a wide range of biological objects (from biocomplexes and biomacromolecules to supramolecular structures, cells, tissues and organisms) and of objects that are participants or products of biological processes, published in the last 15 years are discussed and systematized. The prospects of the technique in its biological applications, including the developing fields (emission variant, use of synchrotron radiation), are formulated.
