A fuzzy rule-based efficient hospital bed management approach for coronavirus disease-19 infected patients

PSO-XnB: a proposed model for predicting hospital stay of CAD patients

Coronary artery disease poses a significant challenge in decision-making when predicting the length of stay for a hospitalized patient. This study presents a predictive model-a Particle Swarm Optimized-Enhanced NeuroBoost-that combines the deep autoencoder with an eXtreme gradient boosting model optimized using particle swarm optimization. The model uses a fuzzy set of rules to categorize the length of stay into four distinct classes, followed by data preparation and preprocessing. In this study, the dimensionality of the data is reduced using deep neural autoencoders. The reconstructed data obtained from autoencoders is given as input to an eXtreme gradient boosting model. Finally, the model is tuned with particle swarm optimization to obtain optimal hyperparameters. With the proposed technique, the model achieved superior performance with an overall accuracy of 98.8% compared to traditional ensemble models and past research works. The model also scored highest in other metrics such as precision, recall, and particularly F1 scores for all categories of hospital stay. These scores validate the suitability of our proposed model in medical healthcare applications.

DLSDHMS: Design of a deep learning-based analysis model for secure and distributed hospital management using context-aware sidechains

Designing an efficient hospital management solution requires the integration of multidomain operations that include secure storage, alert system modelling, infrastructure management, staff management, report analysis, and feedback-based learning tasks. Existing hospital management models are either highly complex or do not incorporate comprehensive deep learning analysis, which limits their deployment capabilities. Moreover, most of these models use mutable storage solutions, which restricts their trust levels under multi-patient to multi-doctor mapping scenarios. To overcome these issues, this article proposes the design of a novel deep Learning-based analysis model for secure and distributed hospital management via context-aware sidechains. The model initially collects large-scale information sets from different hospital entities via an IoT-based network and stores the information on context-sensitive sidechains. These context-sensitive sidechains store information sets related to Medicine Management, Doctor Management, Insurance and Billing Management, and Appointment Management operations. These chains are optimized via an Iterative Genetic Algorithm (IGA) that assists in improving storage and retrieval performance via intelligent merging and splitting operations. Information stored on these chains is processed via a combination of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), that assist in identifying patient-level diseases and issues. The information obtained from these classifiers is updated on the central repository and assists in the pre-emption of diseases for other patients. Due to these integrations, the proposed model is capable of reducing computational delay by 3.5 % and reducing storage cost by 8.3 % when compared to other blockchain-based deployments. The model is also able to pre-empt patient issues with 9.3 % higher accuracy and 4.8 % higher precision, which makes it useful for real-time clinical deployments.

Bio-medical imaging (X-ray, CT, ultrasound, ECG), genome sequences applications of deep neural network and machine learning in diagnosis, detection, classification, and segmentation of COVID-19: a Meta-analysis & systematic review

This review investigates how Deep Machine Learning (DML) has dealt with the Covid-19 epidemic and provides recommendations for future Covid-19 research. Despite the fact that vaccines for this epidemic have been developed, DL methods have proven to be a valuable asset in radiologists' arsenals for the automated assessment of Covid-19. This detailed review debates the techniques and applications developed for Covid-19 findings using DL systems. It also provides insights into notable datasets used to train neural networks, data partitioning, and various performance measurement metrics. The PRISMA taxonomy has been formed based on pretrained(45 systems) and hybrid/custom(17 systems) models with radiography modalities. A total of 62 systems with respect to X-ray(32), CT(19), ultrasound(7), ECG(2), and genome sequence(2) based modalities as taxonomy are selected from the studied articles. We originate by valuing the present phase of DL and conclude with significant limitations. The restrictions contain incomprehensibility, simplification measures, learning from incomplete labeled data, and data secrecy. Moreover, DML can be utilized to detect and classify Covid-19 from other COPD illnesses. The proposed literature review has found many DL-based systems to fight against Covid19. We expect this article will assist in speeding up the procedure of DL for Covid-19 researchers, including medical, radiology technicians, and data engineers.
