Abstract
Cancer is most frequently treated with antineoplastic agents (ANAs) that are hazardous to patients undergoing chemotherapy and the healthcare workers who handle ANAs in the course of their duties. All aspects related to hazardous oncological drugs illustrate that the monitoring of ANAs is essential to minimize the risks associated with these drugs. Among all analytical techniques used to test ANAs, electrochemistry holds an important position. This review, for the first time, comprehensively describes the progress done in electrochemistry of ANAs by means of a variety of bare or modified (bio)sensors over the last four decades (in the period of 1982-2021). Attention is paid not only to the development of electrochemical sensing protocols of ANAs in various biological, environmental, and pharmaceutical matrices but also to achievements of electrochemical techniques in the examination of the interactions of ANAs with deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), carcinogenic cells, biomimetic membranes, peptides, and enzymes. Other aspects, including the enantiopurity studies, differentiation between single-stranded and double-stranded DNA without using any label or tag, studies on ANAs degradation, and their pharmacokinetics, by means of electrochemical techniques are also commented. Finally, concluding remarks that underline the existence of a significant niche for the basic electrochemical research that should be filled in the future are presented.

Abstract
Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and muscle tissue. They also play a significant role in physiological processes related to energy, recovery, mood, muscle and brain function, fat burning and stimulating growth hormone or insulin secretion. Accurate determination of amino acids in biological fluids is necessary because any changes in their normal ranges in the body warn diseases like kidney disease, liver disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer. To date, many methods such as liquid chromatography, fluorescence mass spectrometry, etc. have been used for the determination of amino acids. Compared with the above techniques, electrochemical systems using modified electrodes offer a rapid, accurate, cheap, real-time analytical path through simple operations with high selectivity and sensitivity. Nanomaterials have found many interests to create smart electrochemical sensors in different application fields e.g. biomedical, environmental, and food analysis because of their exceptional properties. This review summarizes recent advances in the development of nanomaterial-based electrochemical sensors in 2017-2022 for the detection of amino acids in various matrices such as serum, urine, blood and pharmaceuticals.

Abstract
A disposable and portable electrochemical sensor was fabricated by integrating vertically-ordered silica mesoporous films (VMSF) and electrochemically reduced graphene (ErGO) on a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE). Such VMSF/ErGO/SPCEs could be prepared by a simple and controllable electrochemical method. Stable growth of VMSF on SPCE could be accomplished by the introduction of an adhesive ErGO nanolayer owing to its oxygen-containing groups and two-dimensional (2D) planar structure. An outer VMSF layer acting as a protective coating is able to prevent the leakage of the inner ErGO layer from the SPCE surface. Thanks to the electrostatic permselectivity and anti-fouling capacity of VMSF and to the good electroactive activity of ErGO, binary nanocomposites of VMSF and ErGO endow the SPCE with excellent analytical performance, which could be used to quantitatively detect doxorubicin (DOX) in biological samples (human serum and urine) with high sensitivity, good long-term stability, and low sample amounts.

Abstract
In this work, a novel electrochemical biosensor assisted by multivariate calibration methods was developed for simultaneous estimation of rates of DNA damage induced by doxorubicin (DX), daunorubicin (DR) and idarubicin (ID), and also to simultaneous determination of the drugs. A glassy carbon electrode was efficiently modified and used as the biosensing platform. Binding and interactions of DX, DR and ID with DNA were modeled by molecular docking methods, and theoretical information was completed by experimental results. The methylene blue was able to intercalate within the DNA structure and by incubation of the biosensor with DX or DR or ID, the methylene blue was replaced by drug and therefore, the voltammetric signal of the biosensor was changed due to the exposed DNA and repelling the electrochemical probe molecules carrying negative charge. The DNA damage induced by each drug was individually monitored by differential pulse voltammetry and then, rates of DNA damage were calibrated and validated by mixture design and multivariate calibration methods. The developed multivariate calibration model constructed based on vectorization of the data was able to simultaneous detection of the rates of DNA damage induced by all the three drugs. The change in the biosensor response in the presence of the drugs was also modeled by multivariate calibration methods to simultaneous determination of the drugs.

Abstract
:
N,Nʹ-dialkylimidazolium-ion liquids is one of the important ionic liquids with a wide range of application as
conductive electrolyte and in electrochemistry. The modified electrodes create a new view in fabrication of
electroanalytical sensors. Many modifiers have beeen suggested for modification of electroanalytical sensor since many
years ago. Over these years, ionic liquids and especially room temperature ionic liquids have attracted more attention due
to their wide range of electrochemical windows and high electrical conductivity. N,Nʹ-dialkylimidazolium-ion liquids are
one of the main important ionic liquids suggested for modification of bare electrodes and especially carbon paste
electrodes. Although many review articles have reported onthe use of ionic liquids in electrochemical sensors, no review
article has been specifically introduced so far on the review of the advantages of N,Nʹ-dialkylimidazolium ionic liquid.
Therefore, in this review paper we focused on the introduction of recent advantages of N,Nʹ-dialkyl imidazolium ionic
liquid in electrochemistry.

Abstract
Direct and accurate detection of doxorubicin (DOX) in unprocessed human whole blood is of vital importance in medical diagnosis and monitoring. In this work, we demonstrate the utilization of electrochemically pretreated glassy carbon electrodes (p-GCE) modified with vertically-ordered mesoporous silica films (VMSF) for rapid and sensitive electrochemical detection of DOX. The electrochemically pretreated process is a simple, cost-effective and environmentally friendly approach for improving interface catalytic properties and introducing oxygen-containing groups into the GCE surface, which could be suitable for stably growing VMSF without any adhesive layer simultaneously retaining the underlying electrode activity. Benefiting from the highly sensitive electrode substrate of p-GCE and electrostatic preconcentration effect of VMSF, the present VMSF/p-GCE sensor was able to determine DOX with an ultrahigh sensitivity (23.94 μA μM-1) and a relatively low limit of detection (0.2 nM) and a rather wide linear range (0.5 nM to 23 μM). Furthermore, direct and reliable electrochemical detection of DOX in human whole blood without complicated sample pretreatments was achieved owing to the excellent anti-fouling and anti-interference ability of VMSF.

Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) MoS2core-shell nanoparticles were synthesized using an eco-friendly surface functionalization-agent with L-glutathione and cystamine (L-GSH-MoS2-CYS) using ultrasonic frequency of 20-25 kHz. The novel modified electrode was evaluated for the electrochemical detection of doxorubicin (DOX), through cyclic and differential pulse voltammetric techniques. The electro-catalytic oxidation currents of DOX exhibited a linear relationship in the concentration ranges 0.1-78.3 and 98.3-1218 μM, with a detection limit of 31 nM. A sensitivity of 0.017μA μM-1 cm-2 was acquired at 0.48 V. The fabricated L-GSH-MoS2-CYS modified electrode showed excellent precision, selectivity, repeatability, and reproducibility during the determination of DOX levels in blood serum samples. Thus, the fabricated L-GSH-MoS2-CYS/GCE modified electrode has potential for clinical applications for optimization of chemotherapeutic drugs owing to its selectivity, ease of preparation, and long-term stability. Abstract
Doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) is an effective anthracycline anticancer drug. However, the exceeded taken up could induce several side-effects such as cardiotoxicity, alopecia. Therefore, the level of DOX needs to be closely monitored to avoid the occurrence of its side-effects. Herein, we report a novel core CuInSe2 - shell ZnS quantum dots (CuInSe2@ZnS, QDs) and Ag nanoparticles (NPs) fluorescence sensor based on the surface plasmon resonance effect (SPR) of Ag NPs. The CuInSe2@ZnS QDs were prepared by water phase reflux method with the 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) as stabilizer and ligand. The fluorescence intensity of CuInSe2@ZnS QDs/Ag NPs significantly reduced by DOX, which is mainly based on the electrostatic interaction between the DOX and fluorescence sensors. The inhibition of photoluminescence (ln F0/F) was linearly relationship to the concentration of DOX in the range of 2-100 μM with the detection limit as low as 0.05 μM. The as-prepared sensor has a high selectivity and sensitivity to DOX. Furthermore, the new sensor has been successfully applied to the determination of DOX in human serum samples with satisfactory results. Our work provides a clue for developing a novel CuInSe2@ZnS QDs/Ag NPs based fluorescence sensor for DOX detection.

Abstract
An innovative and portable design to fabricate an electrochemical sensor based on metallic phase MoS2 (1T-MoS2) decorated with shape-dependent gold nanostructures for the determination of doxorubicin (DOX) is presented. In this context, homogenous and uniform single-crystal gold nanospheres (AuNSPs) and nanorods (AuNRDs) were firstly synthesized by seeded growth approach. Afterwards, AuNSPs and AuNRDs were anchored on 1T-MoS2 surfaces to construct the desired electrochemical sensing platform towards the DOX assay. 1T-MoS2 was exfoliated by metal intercalation process using NaK metal alloys. The structure and surface morphology of 1T-MoS2, AuNSPs, and AuNRDs were characterized by XPS, Raman, UV-vis, TEM, and SEM. The electrochemical behavior of DOX using various MoS2-based electrochemical sensors prepared on screen-printed electrode (SPE) was examined by cyclic voltammetry and adsorptive stripping differential pulse voltammetry. The electrocatalytic efficiency of AuNRDs on 1T-MoS2 was also compared with that of AuNSPs on 1T-MoS2, and it showed much better electrocatalytic activity towards the DOX. A nanocomposite prepared with AuNRDs and 1T-MoS2 on SPE (AuNRDs/1T-MoS2/SPE) exhibited a linear relationship between peak current and DOX concentration in the range 0.01-9.5 μM with a detection limit of 2.5 nM. The AuNRDs/1T-MoS2/SPE was successfully applied to the sensitive and rapid determination of DOX in spiked human serum samples with satisfactory recoveries in the range 99.2-100.8%. Abstract
Paraquat (1,10-dimethyl-4,40-dipyridinium chloride), also known as methyl viologen, is widely used as a quaternary ammonium herbicide (broadleaf weed killer) all over the world owing to its excellent effect in plant cells for crop protection and horticultural use. However, it is dangerous because of its high acute toxicity even at low concentrations. Its detection in the environment is therefore necessary. As a consequence of its widespread usage, it causes genotoxic, teratogenic as well as other environmental and ecological adverse impacts. Exposure to PQ leads to a high mortality rate because no specific drug is effective for treatment. Excessive consumption of PQ can cause cellular damage and necrosis in the brain, heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys. The diversity and sensitivity of the analyses currently required have forced the experimenter to use more advanced and efficient techniques, which can provide qualitative and quantitative results in complex environments. Electrochemical methods generally meet these criteria while offering other advantages to achieve excellent accuracy and fast handling. This paper provides an overview of the determination of PQ using electrochemical methods combined with several modified electrodes in food samples, including milk, apple juice, tomato juice, and potato juice. Emphasis was placed on the most relevant modifiers used to generate high selectivity and sensitivity such as noble metals, metallic nanoparticles, polymers, biomolecules, clay, and apatite minerals. Comprehensively, it is strongly convincing that the synergy between the sensor substrate and the modifier architecture gives the electrodes a high capacity to detect paraquat in complex matrices such as food. In line with the context, information's on the mechanism of electrooxidation or reduction of PQ has been reported with the discussion of some future prospects and some insights. To the best of our knowledge, there is no review article relating the electrochemical determination of paraquat.
