Abstract
BACKGROUND Hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL) is a rare and aggressive peripheral T-cell lymphoma with historically dismal outcomes, representing less than one percent of non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Given its rarity, the true incidence of HSTCL is unknown and most data have been extrapolated through case reports. To the best of our knowledge, the largest and most up to date study addressing the epidemiology and outcomes of patients with HSTCL in the United States covered a period from 1996 to 2014, with a sample size of 122 patients. AIM To paint the most updated epidemiological picture of HSTCL. METHODS A total of 186 patients diagnosed with HSTCL, between 2000 and 2017, were ultimately enrolled in our study by retrieving data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. We analyzed demographics, clinical characteristics, and overall mortality (OM) as well as cancer-specific mortality (CSM) of HSTCL. Variables with a P value < 0.01 in the univariate Cox regression were incorporated into the multivariate Cox model to determine the independent prognostic factors, with a hazard ratio of greater than 1 representing adverse prognostic factors. RESULTS Male gender was the most represented. HSTCL was most common in middle-aged patients (40-59) and less common in the elderly (80+). Non-Hispanic whites (60.75%) and non-Hispanic blacks (20.97%) were the most represented racial groups. Univariate Cox proportional hazard regression analysis of factors influencing all-cause mortality showed a higher OM among non-Hispanic black patients. CSM was also higher among non-Hispanic blacks and patients with distant metastasis. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression analysis of factors affecting CSM revealed higher mortality in patients aged 80 or older and non-Hispanic blacks. CONCLUSION Overall, the outlook for this rare malignancy is very grim. In this retrospective cohort study of the United States population, non-Hispanic blacks and the elderly had a higher CSM. This data highlights the need for larger prospective studies to investigate factors associated with worse prognosis in one ethnic group, such as treatment delays, which have been shown to increase mortality in this racial/ethnic group for other cancers.

Abstract
Breast cancer is a significant global health concern affecting millions of women each year. Digital health platforms are an easily accessible intervention that can improve patient care, though their efficacy in breast cancer care is unknown. This scoping review aims to provide an overview of existing research on the utilization of digital health platforms for breast cancer care and identify key trends and gaps in the literature. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across electronic databases, including Ovid MEDLINE, Elsevier EMBASE, and Elsevier Scopus databases. The search strategy incorporated keywords related to "digital health platforms", "breast cancer care", and associated terminologies. After screening for eligibility, a total of 25 articles were included in this scoping review. The identified studies comprised mobile applications and web-based interventions. These platforms demonstrated various functionalities, including patient education, symptom monitoring, treatment adherence, and psychosocial support. The findings indicate the potential of digital health platforms in improving breast cancer care and patients' overall experiences. The positive impact on patient outcomes, including improved quality of life and reduced psychological distress, underscores the importance of incorporating digital health solutions into breast cancer management. Additional research is necessary to validate the effectiveness of these platforms in diverse patient populations and assess their impact on healthcare-resource utilization.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Update on current racial disparities in the detection and treatment of breast cancer. RECENT FINDINGS Breast cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death among Black and Hispanic women. Mammography rates among Black and Hispanic women have surpassed those among White women, with studies now advocating for earlier initiation of breast cancer screening in Black women. Black, Hispanic, Asian, and American Indian and Alaskan Native women continue to experience delays in diagnosis and time to treatment. Further, racial discrepancies in receipt of guideline-concordant care, access to genetic testing and surgical reconstruction persist. Disparities in the initiation, completion, toxicity, and efficacy of chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, and targeted drug therapy remain for racially marginalized women. Efforts to evaluate the impact of race and ethnicity across the breast cancer spectrum are increasing, but knowledge gaps remain and further research is necessary to reduce the disparity gap.

Abstract
PURPOSE To analyze the association between the Neighborhood Deprivation Index (NDI) and clinical outcomes of locoregional breast cancer (BC). METHODS Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database is queried to evaluate overall survival (OS) and disease-specific survival (DSS) of early- stage BC patients diagnosed between 2010 and 2016. Cox multivariate regression was performed to measure the association between NDI (Quintiles corresponding to most deprivation (Q1), above average deprivation (Q2), average deprivation (Q3), below average deprivation (Q4), least deprivation (Q5)) and OS/DSS. RESULTS Of the 88,572 locoregional BC patients, 27.4% (n = 24,307) were in the Q1 quintile, 26.5% (n = 23,447) were in the Q3 quintile, 17% (n = 15,035) were in the Q2 quintile, 13.5% (n = 11,945) were in the Q4 quintile, and 15.6% (n = 13,838) were in the Q5 quintile. There was a predominance of racial minorities in the Q1 and Q2 quintiles with Black women being 13-15% and Hispanic women being 15% compared to only 8% Black women and 6% Hispanic women in the Q5 quintile (p < 0.001). In multivariate analysis, in the overall cohort, those who live in Q2 and Q1 quintile have inferior OS and DSS compared to those who live in Q5 quintile (OS:- Q2: Hazard Ratio (HR) 1.28, Q1: HR 1.2; DSS:- Q2: HR 1.33, Q1: HR 1.25, all p < 0.001). CONCLUSION Locoregional BC patients from areas with worse NDI have poor OS and DSS. Investments to improve the socioeconomic status of areas with high deprivation may help to reduce healthcare disparities and improve breast cancer outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cancer diagnosis is increasing around the world and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The proportion of thyroid cancer has increased over the past three decades. There are very few studies on cancer epidemiology, and in particular on thyroid cancer in the DRC.
AIM To establish the most recent proportion of thyroid cancer in the DRC compared to other cancers.
METHODS This is a retrospective and descriptive study of 6106 consecutive cancer cases listed in the pathological registers of 4 Laboratories in the city of Kinshasa. This study included all cancer cases recorded in the registers between 2005 and 2019.
RESULTS From a sample of 6106 patients, including all cancer types, 68.3% cases were female and 31.7% were male. Breast and cervical cancer were the most common types of cancer in women and, prostate and skin cancer were the most common types in men. Thyroid cancer was sixth in proportion in women and eleventh in men compared to all cancers. Papillary carcinoma was the most common of thyroid cancers. Rare cancers such as anaplastic and medullary thyroid carcinomas had a proportion of 7% and 2%, respectively.
CONCLUSION Newer diagnostic tools led to a surge in cancer diagnoses in the DRC. Thyroid cancer has more than doubled its proportion over the last several decades in the country.
