Abstract
Cysticercosis is caused by Taenia solium, a cestode or tapeworm that preferentially affects the subcutaneous tissue, brain, muscle, and the eye. It is traditionally a disease of low socioeconomic regions, but large-scale population migration has made it a matter of global concern. Its ocular invasion is a potentially blinding disease. In the last two decades, there has been considerable discussion of cysticercosis; however, most comes from a limited number of case observations. Thus, to overcome this limitation, we summarize and analyse twenty years of medical literature (from 2000 to 2020) on cysticercosis in ophthalmology.

Abstract
Neurocysticercosis (NCC) is one of the most common parasitic infestations (Taenia solium) of central nervous system (CNS) in children. Seizures are the common presenting symptoms. Hydrocephalus and optic atrophy are rare complications which may require neurosurgical interventions. We report a case of NCC with hydrocephalus and bilateral optic atrophy associated with vision loss in a Nepalese patient who improved with anti-parasitic therapy followed by ventriculo-peritoneal (VP) shunting.

Abstract
Neurocysticercosis (NCC), a common helminthic infestation in developing countries, may cause acquired epilepsy and neurological morbidities. Acute symptomatic seizure is the most common manifestation. The other clinical conditions include headache, hydrocephalus, chronic meningitis, focal neurological deficits, and psychological disorders. Altered sensorium and raised intracranial pressure (ICP) may require ventilatory support in an intensive care unit (ICU). Definitive diagnosis is made by identification of parasites in tissues or by a radiological demonstration of the scolex in cystic lesions. Antiepileptic drugs are used to control seizures after NCC. Steroids are generally administered along with antihelminthics, in order to control the edema and intracranial hypertension that may occur as a result of antiparasitic medications. In patients with intracranial hypertension, the priority is to manage the ICP before considering other treatment options. Antiparasitic drug treatment is never the mainstay of treatment, especially in the setting of elevated ICP. Here, we present the ICU management of two such cases.

Abstract
The authors report 2 cases of cysticercosis with widespread involvement of both orbits and subcutaneous tissue and muscles of the head, face, and neck. These cases highlight the severity of orbital involvement in patients with disseminated disease without signs of orbital infection. To the best of our knowledge, such an extensive involvement of both orbits has never been reported.
