Abstract
Introduction Patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis have a higher prevalence of cardiometabolic comorbidities compared to the general population. Clinical data suggest apremilast may reduce weight and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). Objective To describe changes in cardiometabolic parameters among patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis newly treated with apremilast by prediabetes/diabetes or obesity status. Methods This was a retrospective cohort study of electronic medical records from patients with psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis in the OM1 Real-World Data Cloud who newly initiated apremilast. Changes from baseline in body mass index, weight, HbA1c, and lipids were evaluated at 6 and 12 months using a multivariable linear regression model stratified by prediabetes/diabetes or obesity status. Results Of 8487 patients initiating apremilast, 24% had diabetes. Of 8250 patients with body mass index available, 27% were obese and 34% were severely obese. Patients experienced decreases in body mass index and weight at 6 and 12 months regardless of diabetes or obesity status, with the greatest reductions seen in those with diabetes and obesity. Reductions in HbA1c at 6 months were seen in patients without diabetes and patients with severe obesity. Conclusions Treatment with apremilast may provide the greatest cardiometabolic benefit to those with the greatest burden of cardiometabolic disease.

Abstract
Objective Over the years when biologic psoriasis therapies (TNF inhibitors, IL-12/23 inhibitors, IL-23 inhibitors, and IL-17 inhibitors) have been used in psoriasis patients, reports of major cardiovascular events (MACEs) have emerged. This study aims to investigate the association between MACEs and biologic psoriasis therapies by using information reported to the US Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS). Methods FAERS data (January 2004 to December 2022) were reviewed. For each drug-event pair, the proportional reporting ratio (PRR) and the multi-item gamma Poisson shrinker (MGPS) algorithms were used to identify drug-adverse event associations. Results We filtered the query for indication and identified 173,330 reports with psoriasis indication in FAERS throughout the analyzed time frame. MACEs occurred in 4,206 patients treated with biologics. All the four biological classes had an elevated and similar reporting rates for MACEs relative to other alternative psoriasis treatments (PRR from 2.10 to 4.26; EB05 from 1.15 to 2.45). The descending order of association was IL-12/23 inhibitors>IL-17 inhibitors>IL-23 inhibitors>TNF inhibitors. The signal strength for myocardial infarction (PRR, 2.86; χ2, 296.27; EBGM 05, 1.13) was stronger than that for stroke, cardiac fatality, and death. All the biological classes demonstrated a little higher EBGM 05 score≥1 for the MACEs in patients aged 45-64 years. The time-to-onset of MACEs was calculated with a median of 228 days. Conclusions Analysis of adverse event reports in the FAERS reflects the potential risk of MACEs associated with the real-world use of biological therapies in comparison to other alternative psoriasis treatments. Future long-term and well-designed studies are needed to further our knowledge regarding the cardiovascular safety profile of these agents.

Abstract
Psoriasis (PSO) is a common skin disease affecting approximately 1%-3% of the population, and the incidence rate is increasing yearly. PSO is associated with a dramatically increased risk of cardiovascular disease, the most common of which is atherosclerosis (AS). In the past, inflammation was considered to be the triggering factor of the two comorbidities, but in recent years, studies have found that lipid metabolism disorders increase the probability of atherosclerosis in patients with psoriasis. In this review, we discuss epidemiological studies, clinical treatment methods, risk factors, and lipid metabolism of psoriasis and atherosclerosis comorbidities.

Abstract
Derangements in the innate and adaptive immune responses observed in systemic inflammatory syndromes contributes to unique elevated atherosclerotic risk and incident cardiovascular disease. Novel multimodality imaging techniques may improve diagnostic precision for the screening and monitoring of disease activity. The integrated application of these technologies lead to earlier diagnosis and noninvasive monitoring of cardiac involvement in systemic inflammatory diseases that will aid in preclinical studies, enhance patient selection, and provide surrogate endpoints in clinical trials, thereby improving clinical outcomes. We review the common cardiovascular manifestations of immune-mediated systemic inflammatory diseases and address the clinical and investigational role of advanced multimodality cardiac imaging.

Abstract
Autoimmune dermatological diseases (AIDD) encompass a diverse group of disorders characterized by aberrant immune responses targeting the skin and its associated structures. In recent years, emerging evidence suggests a potential involvement of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) in the pathogenesis and progression of these conditions. RAS is a multicomponent cascade, primarily known for its role in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance. All of the RAS components play an important role in controlling inflammation and other immune responses. Angiotensin II, the main effector, acts on two essential receptors: Angiotensin Receptor 1 and 2 (AT1R and AT2R). A disturbance in the axis can lead to many pathological processes, including autoimmune (AI) diseases. AT1R activation triggers diverse signaling cascades involved in inflammation, fibrosis and tissue remodeling. Experimental studies have demonstrated the presence of AT1R in various cutaneous cells and immune cells, further emphasizing its potential contribution to the AI processes in the skin. Furthermore, recent investigations have highlighted the role of other RAS components, beyond angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and Ang II, that may contribute to the pathophysiology of AIDD. Alternative pathways involving ACE2, Ang receptors and Ang-(1-7) have been implicated in regulating immune responses and tissue homeostasis within the skin microenvironment. Understanding the intricate involvement of the RAS in AIDD may provide novel therapeutic opportunities. Targeting specific components of the RAS, such as angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), ACE inhibitors (ACEIs) or alternative RAS pathway modulators, could potentially ameliorate inflammatory responses, reduce tissue damage and lessen disease manifestations. Further research is warranted to outline the exact mechanisms underlying RAS-mediated immune dysregulation in AIDD. This abstract aims to provide a concise overview of the intricate interplay between the RAS and AIDD. Therefore, we elaborate a systematic review of the potential challenge of RAS in the AIDD, including psoriasis, systemic sclerosis, vitiligo, lupus erythematosus and many more.

Abstract
Background Psoriasis is a global health concern as a chronic inflammatory skin disease. Endothelial dysfunction has been implicated in psoriasis pathogenesis. Objective This study aims to explore the scientific literature on the relationship between psoriasis and endothelial cells using bibliometric analysis, identifying research trends and public interest in this topic. Methods We analyzed articles on the topic of endothelial cells and psoriasis in the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection from 1987 to 2022, examining their distribution by publication year, country, organization, author, and journal. We used bibliometric software, including CiteSpace and R package bibliometrix, to visualize co-authorship relations, keyword citation burst analysis, co citation networks, keyword time zone map, burst references and cluster analysis. Results Our analysis included 993 publications. The bibliometric analysis revealed a steady increase in the number of publications on psoriasis and endothelial cells over the past decade. The United States was the leading contributor to this field. The Journal of Investigative Dermatology was the most high-yield publication journal. Burst references analysis identified key articles that have significantly influenced the field, including studies on the role of endothelial dysfunction in psoriasis pathogenesis and the association between psoriasis severity and cardiovascular outcomes. 9 clusters were grouped in the key-word citation network. "Expression", "inflammation", "endothelial growth factor" and "angiogenesis" were the research focuses, while "cardiovascular disease", "atherosclerosis", "endothelial dysfunction", and "oxidative stress" might be the future research hotspots. Conclusion This bibliometric analysis sheds light on the growing acknowledgement of the involvement of endothelial cells in psoriasis, with the United States taking the lead. It also emphasizes the necessity for additional research to unravel the underlying mechanisms connecting psoriasis, endothelial dysfunction, and cardiovascular comorbidities. Ultimately, this research will contribute to the development of enhanced management strategies for psoriasis patients.

Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a common autoimmune disease with a global incidence and newly diagnosed population estimated at 5.14 (range, 1.4-15.13) per 100,000 person-years and 0.40 million people annually, respectively, affects multiple tissues and organs; for example, skin, blood system, heart and kidneys. Accumulating data has also demonstrated that psoriasis (PS) can be a systemic inflammatory disease, which can affect organs other than the skin and occur alongside other autoimmune diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and SLE. The current explanations for the possible comorbidity of PS and SLE include: i) The two diseases share susceptible gene loci; ii) they share a common IL-23/T helper 17 (Th17) axis inflammatory pathway; and iii) the immunopathogenesis of the two conditions is a consequence of the interactions between IL-17 cytokines with effector Th17 cells, T regulatory cells, as well as B cells. In addition, the therapeutic efficacy of IL-17 or TNF-α inhibitors has been demonstrated in PS, and has also become evident in SLE. However, the mechanisms have not been investigated. To the best of our knowledge, there remains a lack of substantial studies on the correlation between PS and SLE. In the present review, the literature, with regards to the epidemiology, genetic predisposition, inflammatory mechanisms and treatment of the patients with both PS and SLE, has been reviewed. Further investigations into the molecular pathogenic mechanism may provide drug targets that could benefit the patients with concomitant PS and SLE.

Abstract
Progress in understanding of the mechanisms underlying chronic inflammatory skin disorders, such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis vulgaris, has led to new treatment options with the primary goal of alleviating symptoms. In addition, this knowledge has the potential to inform on new strategies aimed at inducing deep and therapy-free remission, that is, disease modification, potentially impacting on associated comorbidities. However, to reach this goal, key areas require further exploration, including the definitions of disease modification and disease activity index, further understanding of disease mechanisms and systemic spillover effects, potential windows of opportunity, biomarkers for patient stratification and successful intervention, as well as appropriate study design. This Perspective article assesses the opportunities and challenges in the discovery and development of disease-modifying therapies for chronic inflammatory skin disorders.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a common dermatosis which affects the patient's skin and general well-being because of its link to diseases such as depression, kidney disease and metabolic syndrome. Pathogenesis remains unknown; however, genetic, environmental and immunological factors seem to play a role in the development of the disease. Due to a lack of complete understanding of the psoriasis pathology, effective treatment is yet to be developed. The kynurenine pathway is one of the ways amino acid tryptophan is metabolised. In comorbidities typical for psoriasis such as chronic kidney disease, depression and atherosclerotic alterations in the activation of the kynurenine pathway were observed, which were mainly characterised by higher activity compared to that in healthy individuals. However, the kynurenine pathway has not been thoroughly studied among patients with psoriasis even though increased levels of L-kynurenine, one of the enzymes in the kynurenine pathway, were found in psoriatic skin lesions. Given the unknown pathogenesis of the disease, this finding seems to be a potential new field of study and shows a possible link between psoriasis and its comorbidities that could also lead to novel effective treatment for this chronic condition.

Abstract
Introduction Psoriasis (PSO) is a chronic skin condition that affects a variety of disorders, especially the cardiovascular system. This study investigated the association between PSO and peripheral arterial disease (PAOD). Methods A retrospective cohort study design was carried out between 2000 and 2018. The exposure subject was a newly diagnosed PSO. The diagnosis of PSO was never elaborated as a comparison subject. Balanced heterogeneity of the two groups was used by propensity score matching. The cumulative incidence of PAOD between the two groups was performed using Kaplan-Meier analysis. The Cox proportional hazard model was used to measure the risk of PAOD risk hazard ratio. Results After matching the 1: 1 propensity score, 15,696 subjects with PSO and the same number of subjects without the diagnosis of PSO were recruited. The PSO subject had a higher risk of PAOD than the non-PSO subject (adjusted HR = 1.25; 95% CI = 1.03-1.50). In the 40-64-year-old subgroup, the subject of PSO exhibited an increased risk of PAOD than the subject without PSO. Conclusion Psoriasis is associated with an increased risk of peripheral arterial disease and curative care is necessary to reduce the risk of PAOD..

Abstract
Background and objective Previous studies have shown that patients with psoriasis are at higher risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) compared with general population; however, data on the differences in the occurrence of CKD and ESRD between patients with psoriasis and non-psoriatic controls are limited and inconsistent. The aim of this study was to carry out a comparison of the probability of suffering CKD and ESRD in patients with or without psoriasis by conducting a meta-analysis of cohort studies. Methods Cohort studies on PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and Cochrane Library by March, 2023 were searched for. The studies were screened according to pre-established inclusion criteria. Hazard ratios (HRs) and a 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the renal outcomes among patients with psoriasis were calculated using the random-effect, generic inverse variance method. Subgroup analysis was related to the severity of psoriasis. Results A total of seven retrospective cohort studies were included, including 738,104 psoriasis patients and 3,443,438 non-psoriasis subjects, published from 2013 to 2020. Compared to controls without psoriasis, patients with psoriasis had an increased risk of CKD and ESRD, with pooled hazard ratios of 1.65 (95% CI, 1.29-2.12) and 1.37 (95% CI, 1.14-1.64), respectively. Besides, the incidence of CKD and ESRD is positively correlated with the severity of psoriasis. Conclusion This study showed that compared to patients without psoriasis, patients with psoriasis, especially those with severe psoriasis, had a significantly increased risk of developing CKD and ESRD. Considering the limitations of this meta-analysis, more high-quality and well-designed studies are needed in the future to validate our findings.

Abstract
Psoriasis is associated with cardiometabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Biologic therapy targeting tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-23, and IL-17 may improve not only psoriasis but also cardiometabolic diseases. We retrospectively evaluated whether biologic therapy improved various indicators of cardiometabolic disease. Between January 2010 and September 2022, 165 patients with psoriasis were treated with biologics targeting TNF-α, IL-17, or IL-23. The patients' body mass index; serum levels of HbA1c, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, triglyceride (TG), and uric acid (UA); and systolic and diastolic blood pressures were recorded at weeks 0, 12, and 52 of the treatment. Baseline psoriasis area and severity index (week 0) positively correlated with TG and UA levels but negatively correlated with HDL-C levels, which increased at week 12 of IFX treatment compared to those at week 0. UA levels decreased at week 12 after ADA treatment compared with week 0. HDL-C levels decreased 52 weeks after IXE treatment. In patients treated with TNF-α inhibitors, HDL-C levels increased at week 12, and UA levels decreased at week 52, compared to week 0. Thus, the results at two different time points (at weeks 12 and 52) were inconsistent. However, the results still indicated that TNF-α inhibitors may improve hyperuricemia and dyslipidemia.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The relationship between atopic dermatitis and atopic diseases such as food allergies, asthma, and allergic rhinitis in terms of co-occurrence, underlying mechanisms, and therapy is well documented. There is increasing evidence that atopic dermatitis is associated with non-atopic comorbidities such as cardiac, autoimmune, and neuropsychological comorbidities, as well as cutaneous and extracutaneous infections, establishing atopic dermatitis as a systemic disease. AREAS COVERED The authors reviewed evidence on atopic and non-atopic comorbidities of atopic dermatitis. A literature search was conducted in PubMed for peer-reviewed articles published until October 2022. EXPERT OPINION Atopic and non-atopic diseases coexist with atopic dermatitis more often than would be expected by chance. The effect of biologics and small molecules on atopic and non-atopic comorbidities may contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between atopic dermatitis and its comorbidities. Their relationship needs to be explored further to dismantle the underlying mechanism and move toward an atopic dermatitis endotype-based therapeutic approach.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that features localized or widespread erythema, papules, and scaling. It is common worldwide and may be distributed throughout the whole body. The pathogenesis of psoriasis is quite complex and the result of the interplay of genetic, environmental and immune factors. Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent programmed death that is different from cell senescence, apoptosis, pyroptosis and other forms of cell death. Ferroptosis involves three core metabolites, iron, lipids, and reactive oxygen species (ROS), and it is primarily driven by lipid peroxidation. Ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1) is an effective inhibitor of lipid peroxidation that inhibited the changes related to ferroptosis in erastin-treated keratinocytes and blocked inflammatory responses. Therefore, it has a certain effect on the treatment of psoriatic lesions. Although ferroptosis is closely associated with a variety of human diseases, such as inflammatory diseases, no review has focused on ferroptosis in psoriasis. This mini review primarily focused on the pathogenesis of psoriasis, the mechanisms of ferroptosis, the connection between ferroptosis and psoriasis and ferroptosis inhibitors in psoriasis treatment. We discussed recent research advances and perspectives on the relationship between ferroptosis and psoriasis.

Abstract
COVID-19 causes thromboembolic complications that affect the patient’s prognosis. COVID-19 vaccines significantly improve the prognosis for the course of the infection. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impacts of patient characteristics, including COVID-19 vaccinations, on perioperative mortality in acute coronary syndrome in Poland during the pandemic. We analyzed the data of 243,515 patients from the National Registry of Invasive Cardiology Procedures (Ogólnopolski Rejestr Procedur Kardiologii Inwazyjnej [ORPKI]). In this group, 7407 patients (21.74%) had COVID-19. The statistical analysis was based on a neural network that was verified by the random forest method. In 2020, the most significant impact on prognosis came from a diagnosis of unstable angina, a short period (<2 h) from pain occurrence to first medical contact, and a history of stroke. In 2021, the most significant factors were pre-hospital cardiac arrest, female sex, and a short period (<2 h) from first medical contact to coronary angiography. After adjusting for a six-week lag, a diagnosis of unstable angina and psoriasis were found to be relevant in the data from 2020, while in 2021, it was the time from the pain occurrence to the first medical contact (2−12 h) in non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction and the time from first contact to balloon inflation (2−12 h) in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. The number of vaccinations was one of the least significant factors. COVID-19 vaccination does not directly affect perioperative prognosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic systemic inflammatory disease associated with a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease, especially in patients with moderate to severe psoriasis. It has been estimated that severe psoriasis confers a 25% increase in relative risk of cardiovascular disease, regardless of traditional risk factors. Although the underlying pathogenic mechanisms relating psoriasis to increased cardiovascular risk are not clear, atherosclerosis is emerging as a possible link between skin and vascular affection. The hypothesis that the inflammatory cascade activated in psoriasis contributes to the atherosclerotic process provides the underlying basis to suggest that an anti-inflammatory therapy that improved atherosclerosis would also reduce the risk of MACEs. In this sense, the introduction of biological drugs which specifically target cytokines implicated in the inflammatory cascade have increased the expectations of control over the cardiovascular comorbidity present in psoriasis patients, however, their role in vascular damage processes remains controversial. The aim of this paper is to review the mechanistic link between psoriasis and cardiovascular disease development, as well as analyzing which of the biological treatments could also reduce the cardiovascular risk in these patients, fueling a growing debate on the modification of the general algorithm of treatment.

Abstract
Irisin is an adipo-myokine, mainly synthetized in skeletal muscles and adipose tissues, that is involved in multiple processes. Only a few studies have evaluated serum irisin in psoriatic patients. This study aims to analyze serum irisin levels in patients with chronic plaque psoriasis, to compare them with values in controls, and to assess whether concentration of circulating irisin correlates with the severity of psoriasis, calculated by means of Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI). We enrolled 46 patients with chronic plaque psoriasis; the control group included 46 sex- and age-matched subjects without any skin or systemic diseases. Serum irisin levels were measured by competitive enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Our results showed a non-significant increase in serum irisin concentration in psoriatic patients compared to controls. A negative non-linear correlation between PASI and irisin levels was detected in psoriatic patients. Indeed, dividing patients according to psoriasis severity, the negative association between irisin and PASI was stronger in patients with mild psoriasis than in patients with higher PASI scores. Several control variables we tested showed no significant impact on serum irisin. However, erythrocyte sedimentation rate in the normal range was associated with significantly higher irisin levels in psoriatic patients. In conclusion, although irisin levels were not significantly different between controls and psoriatic patients, irisin was found to be negatively associated with psoriasis severity, especially in subjects with low PASI scores; however, further studies are needed to clarify the role of irisin in subjects with psoriasis.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic systemic inflammatory disease. Due to systemic inflammation, it is associated with many comorbidities. Among them, cardiovascular diseases represent the most common causes of morbidity and mortality in this population. Therefore, physicians treating patients with psoriasis should keep in mind that, as important as the treatment of psoriasis, awareness of cardiovascular risk deserves additional attention. Thus, in parallel with psoriasis treatment, a cardiovascular risk assessment must also be performed and addressed accordingly. In addition to encouraging non-pharmacologic strategies for a healthy lifestyle, physicians should be familiar with different pharmacologic options that can target psoriasis and reduce cardiovascular risk. In the present article, we present the pathophysiological mechanisms of the psoriasis and cardiometabolic interplay, our view on the interaction of psoriasis and cardiovascular disease, review the atherosclerotic effect of therapeutic options used in psoriasis, and vice versa, i.e., what the effect of medications used in the prevention of atherosclerosis could be on psoriasis.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease, characterized by well-demarcated scaly, erythematous, infiltrated plaques. The cutaneous-to-systemic expansion of the inflammation in psoriasis leads to the concept of “psoriatic march” or “inflammatory skin march”. Accordingly, psoriasis is thought to be a systemic inflammatory disease associated with numerous comorbidities. Indeed, it’s currently considered an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Here, we discuss the current knowledge on TNF-α and IL-23/IL-17 mediated pathways linking the psoriatic plaque to the cardiovascular compartment. We further argue the possible involvement of the endothelial compartment in the psoriatic plaque- cardiovascular system crosstalk.

Abstract
Although psoriasis is predominantly a chronic inflammatory skin disorder, epidemiological data provide a solid link between psoriasis, especially in its more severe forms, and increased risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Apart from the increased prevalence of traditional cardiovascular risk factors, chronic inflammation appears to act synergistically with the underlying process of endothelial dysfunction toward the development of accelerated atherosclerosis, subclinical vascular injury and subsequently, clinically evident cardiovascular manifestations. Endothelial dysfunction is regarded as an early precursor of atherosclerosis with a predictive value for the development of future cardiovascular events. A thorough understanding of the mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction in psoriasis might pave the path for the development of more accurate cardiovascular risk prediction tools and possible therapeutic targets aiming to alleviate the increased cardiovascular burden associated with the disease. The present review summarizes the available evidence about the role of chronic inflammation and other important pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the development of endothelial dysfunction in psoriasis. An overview of studies implementing the most widely applied circulating and vascular biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction in psoriasis patients will be provided, and the impact of systemic psoriasis treatments on endothelial dysfunction and patients' cardiovascular risk will be discussed.

Abstract
Immune responses differ between men and women, with women at higher risk of developing chronic autoimmune diseases and having more robust immune responses to many viruses, including HIV and hepatitis C virus. Although immune dysregulation plays a prominent role in chronic systemic inflammation, a key driver in the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), standard ASCVD risk prediction scores underestimate risk in populations with immune disorders, particularly women. This review focuses on the ASCVD implications of immune dysregulation due to disorders with varying global prevalence by sex: autoimmune disorders (female predominant), HIV (male-female equivalent), and hepatitis C virus (male predominant). Factors contributing to ASCVD in women with immune disorders, including traditional risk factors, dysregulated innate and adaptive immunity, sex hormones, and treatment modalities, are discussed. Finally, the need to develop new ASCVD risk stratification tools that incorporate variables specific to populations with chronic immune disorders, particularly in women, is emphasized.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to explore the dysregulated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) expression profile in psoriatic tissue vs. normal skin tissue via RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), then further sort candidate lncRNAs to be validated by reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), in order to investigate the comprehensive linkage of lncRNA with psoriasis. METHODS Twenty-five psoriasis patients were consecutively enrolled, with their psoriatic and surrounding normal skin tissues obtained. Ten pairs of psoriatic and normal tissues were proposed to RNA-seq. Then, top 6 differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNA) were sorted as candidate lncRNAs for validation by RT-qPCR in 25 pairs of samples. RESULTS Principal component analysis (PCA) exhibited that lncRNA profile clearly distinguished psoriatic tissue from normal tissue, so did heatmap. Volcano plot disclosed 412 upregulated and 625 downregulated DElncRNAs in psoriatic tissue vs. normal tissue. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoko Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses exhibited that these DElncRNAs were mainly enriched in immune, inflammation, or proliferation-related biological processes and pathways such as neutrophil degranulation, regulation of immune response, positive regulation of cell proliferation, and MAPK signaling pathway. By RT-qPCR validation, lncRNAs RP11-22A3.2, RP11-342L8.2, and CTD-2006H14.2 were increased (all P < 0.001), while lncRNAs AP000442.4, CCDC144NL-AS1, and MIR663AHG were decreased (all P < 0.01) in psoriatic tissue vs. normal tissue. Interestingly, psoriatic lncRNA RP11-342L8.2 was also observed to positively correlated with psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) (r = 0.405, P = 0.045). CONCLUSION Our present study exhibits some evidence for the landscape of lncRNAs implicated in psoriasis.
