Abstract
As a type of readily available small strained-ring heterocycle, meso-aziridines may undergo catalytic desymmetrizing transformations to empower the rapid construction of diverse nitrogen-containing structures bearing contiguous stereocenters, which have great relevance in natural product synthesis, drug development and the design and synthesis of chiral catalysts/ligands for asymmetric catalysis. This review outlines the advances achieved in the catalytic asymmetric desymmetrization of meso aziridines and highlights some promising avenues for further work in this realm.

Abstract
An efficient synthesis of various protected syn-β-sulfenyl amides is described. These are prepared from the corresponding enantiopure amino allylsilanes which are in turn obtained from naturally occurring amino acids. The key step for introduction of the sulfur substituent is a diastereoselective electrophilic sulfodesilylation which is carried out with phthalimidesulfenyl chloride. The resulting homochiral β-phthalimidesulfenyl amines with an allylic sulforated stereogenic center are useful building blocks, as they represent a starting point for subsequent functional manipulations.

Abstract
Conditions for a catalytic asymmetric aza-Darzens aziridine synthesis mediated by a vaulted biphenanthrol (VAPOL) magnesium phosphate salt is described. Using simple substrates, this methodology explores the scope and reactivity of a new magnesium catalyst for an aziridination reaction capable of building chirality and complexity simultaneously.

Abstract
Ring-opening reactions of aziridines with trimethylsilyl compounds triggered by tetrabutylammonium fluoride give the corresponding products regioselectively in excellent yield. It provides a facile and efficient procedure for the ring-opening reactions of aziridines and affords a practical access to the synthesis of cyano-, azido-, or chloroamines because of its efficiency and simplicity. The products are easily transformed to vicinal diamines or beta-amino acids.
