Abstract
Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGL) are rare neuroendocrine tumors derived from chromaffin cells in the autonomic nervous system. Depending on their location, these tumors are capable of excessive catecholamine production, which may lead to uncontrolled hypertension and other life-threatening complications. They are associated with a significant risk of metastatic disease and are often caused by an inherited germline mutation. Although surgery can cure localized disease and lead to remission, treatments for metastatic PPGL (mPPGL)-including chemotherapy, radiopharmaceutical agents, multikinase inhibitors, and immunotherapy used alone or in combination- aim to control tumor growth and limit organ damage. Substantial advances have been made in understanding hereditary and somatic molecular signaling pathways that play a role in tumor growth and metastasis. Treatment options for metastatic disease are rapidly evolving, and this paper aims to provide a brief overview of the management of mPPGL with a focus on therapy options.

Abstract
Recently, the treatment landscape for metastatic pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (MPPGL) has seen both progress and setbacks. We provide an up-to-date review of the multimodality management of MPPGL and discuss novel opportunities and current challenges in the treatment landscape. Given the unique clinical presentation of MPPGL, we discuss the management of hormone-related clinical sequelae and traditional modalities of therapy. Advances in the understanding of the molecular biology of these diverse tumors have enabled novel strategies such as augmenting DNA damage by targeted delivery of radionuclides such as 131I and 177Lu, abrogating tumor angiogenesis, hypoxia resistance, and DNA damage repair. Despite progress, we address the significant challenges still faced by patients and researchers engaged in efforts to improve outcomes in these rare cancers.

Abstract
A challenging task in routine practice is finding the distinction between benign and malignant paragangliomas and pheochromocytomas. The aim of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of angiogenesis by assessing intratumoral microvascular density (MVD) with immunohistochemical (IHC) markers (CD31, CD34, CD105, ERG), and S100 immunoreactivity, Ki67 proliferative index, succinate dehydrogenase B (SDHB) expressiveness, tumor size with one the most utilized score Pheochromocytoma of Adrenal Gland Scales Score (PASS), using tissue microarray (TMA) with 115 tumor samples, 61 benign (PASS < 4) and 54 potentially malignant (PASS ≥ 4). We found no notable difference between intratumoral MVD and potentially malignant behavior. The group of potentially malignant tumors is significantly larger in size, has lower intratumoral MVD, and a decreased number of S100 labeled sustentacular cells. Both groups have low proliferative activity (mean Ki67 is 1.02 and 1.22, respectively). Most tumors maintain SDHB expression, only 6 cases (5.2%) showed a loss of expression (4 of them in PASS < 4 group and 2 in PASS ≥ 4). PASS score is easily available for assessment and complemented with markers of biological behavior to complete the risk stratification algorithm. Size is directly related to PASS score and malignancy. Intratumoral MVD is extensively developed but it is not crucial in evaluating the malignant potential.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) are rare neuroendocrine tumors that commonly produce excess catecholamines causing significant morbidity and mortality. Patients with cyanotic congenital heart disease (CCHD) develop PPGLs at a higher frequency than the general population. This review will summarize recent research in the association of PPGL and CCHD. RECENT FINDINGS Advances in molecular genetics have provided new insights into a variety of germline mutations and somatic mutations related to PPGLs. In the CCHD population, mutations can occur in the hypoxia signaling pathway with gain-of-function somatic mutations in EPAS1, which prevent degradation of hypoxia-inducible factor-2 alpha. These mutations are implicated in oncogenesis. PPGLs associated with CCHD develop as early as age 15 years and have predominantly noradrenergic secretion. Surgical removal is considered the first line of therapy, although belzutifan, a HIF-2α inhibitor, is currently being tested as a potential therapy. Early screening with plasma metanephrines may assist in identifying PPGLs in patients with CCHD.

Abstract
Over the past two decades, there has been a significant growth in articles focusing on the genetics of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL). We used bibliometric methods to investigate the historical changes and trend in PPGL research. There was a total of 1263 articles published in English from 2002 to 2022 included in our study. The number of annual publications and citations in this field has been increasing in the past 20 years. Furthermore, most of the publications originated from the European countries and the United States. The co-occurrence analysis showed close cooperation between different countries, institutions, or authors. The dual-map discipline analysis revealed that majority articles focused on four disciplines: #2 (Medicine, Medical, Clinical), #4 (Molecular, Biology, Immunology), #5 (Health, Nursing, Medicine), and #8 (Molecular, Biology, Genetics). The hotspot analysis revealed the keywords that have been landmark for PPGL genetics research in different time periods, and there was continued interest in gene mutations, especially on SDHX family genes. In conclusion, this study displays the current status of research and future trends in the genetics of PPGL. In future, more in-depth research should concentrate on crucial mutation genes and their specific mechanisms to assist in molecular target therapy. It is hoped that this study may help to provide directions for future research on genes and PPGL.

Abstract
In this comprehensive review, we aimed to discuss the current state-of-the-art medical imaging for pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) diagnosis and treatment. Despite major medical improvements, PPGLs, as with other neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), leave clinicians facing several challenges; their inherent particularities and their diagnosis and treatment pose several challenges for clinicians due to their inherent complexity, and they require management by multidisciplinary teams. The conventional concepts of medical imaging are currently undergoing a paradigm shift, thanks to developments in radiomic and metabolic imaging. However, despite active research, clinical relevance of these new parameters remains unclear, and further multicentric studies are needed in order to validate and increase widespread use and integration in clinical routine. Use of AI in PPGLs may detect changes in tumor phenotype that precede classical medical imaging biomarkers, such as shape, texture, and size. Since PPGLs are rare, slow-growing, and heterogeneous, multicentric collaboration will be necessary to have enough data in order to develop new PPGL biomarkers. In this nonsystematic review, our aim is to present an exhaustive pedagogical tool based on real-world cases, dedicated to physicians dealing with PPGLs, augmented by perspectives of artificial intelligence and big data.

Abstract
Pheochromocytoma (PHEO) is a rare and complex molecularly driven endocrine disease that can present with a variety of clinical manifestations, including paroxysmal hypertension, episodic anxiety, tremors, devastating acute heart failure and acute pulmonary edema. The variety of PHEO-related symptoms increase the difficulty of identifying and diagnosing PHEO. We reported a case of a 27-year-old Chinese male was diagnosed PHEO by CT scan because of upper abdominal pain. The patient complicated with hypertensive crisis and headache following his admission, and he was underwent adrenal tumor surgical resection by carrying out appropriate clinical, laboratory and radiological imaging. Thus, the patient's PHEO-related symptoms were relieved and the blood pressure returned to normal, and discharged from the hospital with a follow-up plan. Although the PEHO-related symptoms are varied and difficult to diagnose, CT examination can be used for the preliminary detection and diagnosis. This case report emphasizes the importance of considering PHEO by CT scan and atypical symptoms, which help others better understand PHEO for early detection and timely surgical treatment to reduce catecholamine-related complications.

Abstract
ABSTRACT An 84-year-old man with history of metastatic pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma (mPPGL) received surgery 13 years ago, with recent biopsy-proven mPPGL in the T11. 123 I-MIBG scan showed MIBG-avid liver and osseous. Given his medical condition and body habitus (weight, 45 kg; height, 140 cm), the patient was treated with high-specific-activity 131 I-MIBG (Azedra) 300 mCi ×2. He tolerated the medication and was totally asymptomatic. Series 123 I-MIBG scan showed good responses till 22 months after the first treatment at the last visit. This is probably the oldest and smallest adult mPPGL patient treated with Azedra and with prolonged good response.

Abstract
ABSTRACT High-specific-activity 131 I-MIBG (Azedra) is the only Food and Drug Administration-approved therapy for metastatic pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas, which are rare neuroendocrine tumors with limited treatment options. Based on our experience, we proposed here functional imaging-based tumor response criteria for these patient cohorts. Each response category was illustrated with typical sample cases, and clinical correlation was provided.

Abstract
Tumors driven by deficiency of the VHL gene product, which is involved in degradation of the hypoxia-inducible factor subunit 2 alpha (HIF2α), are natural candidates for targeted inhibition of this pathway. Belzutifan, a highly specific and well-tolerated HIF2α inhibitor, recently received FDA approval for the treatment of nonmetastatic renal cell carcinomas, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and central nervous system hemangioblastomas from patients with von Hippel-Lindau disease, who carry VHL germline mutations. Such approval is a milestone in oncology; however, the full potential, and limitations, of HIF2α inhibition in the clinic are just starting to be explored. Here we briefly recapitulate the molecular rationale for HIF2α blockade in tumors and review available preclinical and clinical data, elaborating on mutations that might be particularly sensitive to this approach. We also outline some emerging mechanisms of intrinsic and acquired resistance to HIF2α inhibitors, including acquired mutations of the gatekeeper pocket of HIF2α and its interacting partner ARNT. Lastly, we propose that the high efficacy of belzutifan observed in tumors with genetically driven hypoxia caused by VHL mutations suggests that a focus on other mutations that similarly lead to HIF2α stabilization, such as those occurring in neuroendocrine tumors with disruptions in the tricarboxylic acid cycle (SDHA/B/C/D, FH, MDH2, IDH2), HIF hydroxylases (EGLN/PHDs), and the HIF2α-encoding gene, EPAS1, are warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGL) are rare neuroendocrine tumors. Metastases develop in 15-20%. The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) established inaugural guidelines for PPGL tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging. The objective of this analysis is to investigate the associations between TNM staging and overall survival (OS). METHODS We retrospectively applied the TNM staging at the time of diagnosis of the primary tumor. The primary outcome was OS. Unadjusted survival rates were estimated by the Kaplan-Meier method. Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to evaluate the associations between OS and covariates of interest. RESULTS The study included 458 patients. Median OS was 18.0 (95% CI: 15.6-not reached) years. At diagnosis, 126 (27.5%) tumors were stage I, 213 (46.5%) were stage II, 47 (10.3%) were stage III, and 72 (15.7%) were stage IV. The 10-year OS probabilities were 0.844 (95% CI: 0.768-0.928) for patients with stage I tumors, 0.792 (95% CI: 0.726-0.865) for stage II, 0.595 (95% CI: 0.435-0.813) for stage III, and 0.221 (95% CI: 0.127-0.384) for stage IV. Compared with stage I, the hazard ratios (HR) for death were 1.50 (0.87-2.57) for stage II, 2.85 (1.45-5.63) for stage III, and 8.88 (5.16-15.29) for stage IV (p < 0.001). Compared with patients with no germline mutations, those with RET 634/918 had better OS (HR: 0.28, 95% CI: 0.12-0.69). Other germline mutations, including SDHB, did not exhibit worse OS than patients with metastasis and sporadic disease. CONCLUSIONS OS rates correlated with the recently developed AJCC TNM staging and was not worse in hereditary disease. Stage IV disease exhibited a significantly shorter OS compared with stages I-III. Future staging systems could be adjusted to better separate stages I and II.

Abstract
Background Extra-adrenal paraganglioma of the retroperitoneum is a very rare neoplasm arising from cells of the primitive neural crest. Although paragangliomas are considered benign and are often found incidentally, they have the potential to metastasize. Case presentation We report the case of a 68-year-old Caucasian woman with an incidental diagnosis of retroperitoneal paraganglioma that was discovered on chest computed tomography performed for high suspicion of coronavirus disease 2019 pneumonia. The patient showed no metastasis and was successfully treated by complete surgical removal of the tumor. Conclusion As the diagnosis of paragangliomas is often delayed because of absent clinical symptoms, they represent a significant diagnostic challenge. Although surgery may exacerbate coronavirus disease 2019 infection, surgical resection of this tumor is prioritized, given its malignancy potential, and it must be performed as soon as no infection is detected.

Abstract
von Hippel Lindau disease (vHL) is caused by a hereditary predisposition to multiple neoplasms, especially hemangioblastomas in the retina and CNS, renal cell carcinomas (RCC), pheochromocytomas, neuroendocrine pancreatic tumours (PNET) and endolymphatic sac tumours. Evidence based approaches are needed to ensure an optimal clinical care, while minimizing the burden for the patients and their families. This guideline is based on evidence from the international vHL literature and extensive research of geno- and phenotypic characteristics, disease progression and surveillance effect in the national Danish vHL cohort. We included the views and preferences of the Danish vHL patients, ensured consensus among Danish experts and compared with international recommendations. RECOMMENDATIONS: vHL can be diagnosed on clinical criteria, only; however, in most cases the diagnosis can be supported by identification of a pathogenic or likely pathogenic variant in VHL. Surveillance should be initiated in childhood in persons with, or at risk of, vHL, and include regular examination of the retina, CNS, inner ear, kidneys, neuroendocrine glands, and pancreas. Treatment of vHL manifestations should be planned to optimize the chance of cure, without unnecessary sequelae. Most manifestations are currently treated by surgery. However, belzutifan, that targets HIF-2α was recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for adult patients with vHL-associated RCC, CNS hemangioblastomas, or PNETs, not requiring immediate surgery. Diagnostics, surveillance, and treatment of vHL can be undertaken successfully by experts collaborating in multidisciplinary teams. Systematic registration, collaboration with patient organisations, and research are fundamental for the continuous improvement of clinical care and optimization of outcome with minimal patient inconvenience.

Abstract
Adrenal masses are a frequent finding in clinical practice. Many of them are incidentally discovered with a prevalence of 4% in patients undergoing abdominal anatomic imaging and require a differential diagnosis. Biochemical tests, evaluating hormonal production of both adrenal cortex and medulla (in particular, mineralocorticoids, glucocorticoids and catecholamines), have a primary importance in distinguishing functional or non-functional lesions. Conventional imaging techniques, in particular computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), are required to differentiate between benign and malignant lesions according to their appearance (size stability, contrast enhanced CT and/or chemical shift on MRI). In selected patients, functional imaging is a non-invasive tool able to explore the metabolic pathways involved thus providing additional diagnostic information. Several single photon emission tomography (SPET) and positron emission tomography (PET) radiopharmaceuticals have been developed and are available, each of them suitable for studying specific pathological conditions. In functional masses causing hypersecreting diseases (mainly adrenal hypercortisolism, primary hyperaldosteronism and pheochromocytoma), functional imaging can lateralize the involvement and guide the therapeutic strategy in both unilateral and bilateral lesions. In non-functioning adrenal masses with inconclusive imaging findings at CT/MR, [18F]-FDG evaluation of tumor metabolism can be helpful to characterize them by distinguishing between benign nodules and primary malignant adrenal disease (mainly adrenocortical carcinoma), thus modulating the surgical approach. In oncologic patients, [18F]-FDG uptake can differentiate between benign nodule and adrenal metastasis from extra-adrenal primary malignancies.

Abstract
The question of systematic use of a pharmacological treatment before surgery in patients diagnosed with pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) remains highly controversial. While recent guidelines suggest that this should be used in all patients, some experienced teams consider it unnecessary in some cases, provided the surgery is performed in a dedicated center that has expert endocrinologists, cardiologists, surgeons, and anesthetists. This controversy is aimed at shedding light on the potential benefits and risks of such a treatment, focusing specifically on alpha blockers which are considered as the first-line medical treatments in patients with PPGL. After discussing the rationale for alpha blockers, hemodynamic instability, tolerance, and acute cardiac complications will then be discussed in the first part of the manuscript, defending a systematic use. The second section will focus on blood pressure control, tolerance of alpha blockers, and also the management of normotensive PPGL, examining the daily risks of PPGL and arguing against the systematic use of a preoperative pharmacological treatment before surgery. Finally, we will discuss the concept of expert centers and define the patients in whom the risk/benefit profile would favor the use of this preoperative treatment.

Abstract
Adrenocortical cancers and metastatic pheochromocytomas are the most common malignancies originating in the adrenal glands. Metastatic paragangliomas are extra-adrenal tumors that share similar genetic and molecular profiles with metastatic pheochromocytomas and, subsequently, these tumors are studied together. Adrenocortical cancers and metastatic pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas are orphan diseases with limited therapeutic options worldwide. As in any other cancers, adrenocortical cancers and metastatic pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas avoid the immune system. Hypoxia-pseudohypoxia, activation of the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway, and/or microsatellite instability suggest that immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibitors could be a therapeutic option for patients with these tumors. The results of clinical trials with checkpoint inhibitors for adrenocortical carcinoma or metastatic pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma demonstrate limited benefits; nevertheless, these results also suggest interesting mechanisms that might enhance clinical responses to checkpoint inhibitors. These mechanisms include the normalization of tumor vasculature, modification of the hormonal environment, and vaccination with specific tumor antigens. Combinations of checkpoint inhibitors with classical therapies, such as chemotherapy, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, radiopharmaceuticals, and/or novel therapies, such as vaccines, should be evaluated in clinical trials.

Abstract
Pheochromocytoma is a rare tumor with malignant potential. Distant metastases are almost always unresectable, and carry a poor prognosis. Early detection and complete resection resulted in good outcomes.
Introduction and importance Pheochromocytomas arise from the adrenal medulla and are rare. Pheochromocytomas metastasize to bone, lung and liver, and surgery might be the curative treatment. However, few cases are detected when they are resectable lesions because of difficulty in diagnosis and rapid growth. We herein report a patient who underwent resection of liver metastasis and local recurrence of pheochromocytoma. Case presentation A 74-year-old woman visited our hospital for treatment for liver and retroperitoneal tumors. She had undergone left adrenal gland resection for pheochromocytoma 16 years earlier. Eleven years after primary surgery, breast cancer was diagnosed and resected. During the breast cancer follow-up, a liver tumor was identified with computed tomography. Breast cancer recurrence and metastasis were considered, so chemotherapy was administered first. However, the liver tumor gradually enlarged, and another lesion appeared in the retroperitoneum. The tumors were diagnosed as pheochromocytoma recurrence using 123I-metaiodobenzylguanidine scintigraphy, and she underwent resection of the local recurrence and liver metastasis. She was discharged on postoperative day 25 without complications, and no evidence of recurrence occurred more than 3.5 years postoperatively. Clinical discussion All pheochromocytomas have metastatic potential; however, there are no reliable markers to predict malignancy. Early detection of recurrence by regular imaging and complete resection are important in the treatment. If the recurrence was oligometastasis and tumor growth is slow, surgical resection may be eligible. Conclusion A favorable outcome resulted from complete resection for liver metastasis and local recurrence of pheochromocytoma.

Abstract
Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma are neuroendocrine neoplasms, originating in the adrenal medulla and in parasympathetic and sympathetic autonomic nervous system ganglia, respectively. They usually present as localized tumours curable with surgery. However, these tumours may exhibit heterogeneous clinical course, ranging from no/minimal progression to aggressive (progressive/metastatic) behavior. For this setting of patients, current therapies are unsatisfactory. Immune checkpoint inhibitors have shown outstanding results for several types of solid cancers. We therefore aimed to summarize and discuss available data on efficacy and safety of current FDA-approved immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma. After an extensive search, we found 15 useful data sources (four full-published articles, four supplements of scientific journals, seven ongoing registered clinical trials). The data we detected, even with the limit of the small number of patients treated, make a great expectation on the therapeutic use of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Besides, the newly detected predictors of response will (hopefully) be of great helps in selecting the subset of patients that might benefit the most from this class of drugs. Finally, new trials are in the starting blocks, and they are expected to shed in the next future new light on a therapy, which is considered a milestone in oncology.

Abstract
CONTEXT Until recently, there are few effective treatment options for patients with synchronous metastatic phaeochromocytoma (PHEO) and paraganglioma (PGL). Surgical resection may improve the survival outcomes of these patients. OBJECTIVE To assess the role of surgical resection of the primary tumour in patients with synchronous metastatic PHEO and PGL. DESIGN Retrospective analysis of patients with synchronous metastatic PHEO/PGL using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (1988-2016). PATIENTS Patients with synchronous metastatic PHEO/PGL who underwent primary tumour resection. MEASUREMENTS Overall survival and Cox regression analyses. RESULTS A total of 99 patients with metastatic PHEO and 127 metastatic PGL patients were identified from the SEER database. Compared to metastatic PHEO, metastatic PGL patients had a better overall survival (5-year survival rate: 33.3% vs. 49.0%, p = .001). In metastatic PHEO patients, 53 (53.5%) patients underwent surgery for primary site. Surgically treated patients had an improved survival compared to non-surgery patients (5-year survival rate: 50.9% vs. 29.6%, p = .017). Among metastatic PGL patients, primary tumour resection was performed in 74 (58.3%) patients and had no significant effect on the survival of metastatic PGL. In sub-analyses, surgery only conferred a survival benefit in patients with primary tumours originated from aortic/carotid bodies, rather than other sites or abdominal tumours. CONCLUSION Our findings suggest that primary tumour resection is associated with improved survival in patients with synchronous metastatic PHEO and those with PGL diseases located in aortic/carotid bodies. In addition, PHEO and PGL should be treated as two distinct clinical entities.

Abstract
Introduction Pheochromocytomas and sympathetic paragangliomas (PPGL) are neuroendocrine catecholamine-secreting tumors that are usually localized. Metastatic disease is rare and systemic treatment consists of conventional chemotherapy and high-specific-activity iodine-131-MIBG which was approved by the FDA in 2018. Although chemotherapy combinations still have value in specific settings, the debilitating side effects of treatment with only modest benefit have limited their use. With the introduction of a new generation of targeted therapy and immunotherapy patients with metastatic PPGL may have improved therapeutic options. Areas Covered The current paper presents a case of a patient with metastatic PPGL who received multiple lines of systemic treatment. Despite progression on previous single agent cabozantinib and single agent pembrolizumab on separate clinical trials, the patient has exhibited a major response to the combination of cabozantinib and nivolumab for the past 22 months. In addition, we will review the available therapies for metastatic PPGL and discuss novel agents under clinical development. Conclusion Newer targeted therapies and immunotherapy options are under clinical development with promising results for patients with PPGL.

Abstract
Metastatic pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (MPPGs) are rare endocrine malignancies that are associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality because of their large tumor burden and location, progression, and release of catecholamines. Systemic therapies for MPPGs are limited. MPPGs are characterized by pseudohypoxia that may prevent immune system recognition. We conducted a phase II clinical trial of pembrolizumab in patients with progressive MPPGs. The primary endpoint was the non-progression rate at 27 weeks. The secondary endpoints included the objective response and clinical benefit rates, progression free and overall survival duration, and safety. We also determined whether PDL-1 expression and the presence of infiltrating mononuclear inflammatory cells in the primary tumor were associated with clinical response and hereditary background. Eleven patients were included in this trial, four (36%) with germline mutations and seven (64%) with hormonally active tumors. Four patients (40%, 95% confidence interval (CI) 12–74%) achieved the primary endpoint. The objective response rate was 9% (95% CI: 0–41%). The clinical benefit rate was 73% (95% CI: 39–94%). Four patients had grade 3 adverse events related to pembrolizumab. No patients experienced grade 4 or 5 adverse events or a catecholamine crisis. Progression free survival time was 5.7 months (95% CI: 4.37—not reached). The median survival duration was 19 months (95% CI: 9.9—not reached). PDL-1 expression and the presence of infiltrating mononuclear inflammatory cells in the primary tumor did not seem to be associated with disease response. Single-agent pembrolizumab has modest treatment efficacy in patients with progressive MPPGs. Positive responses seemed to be independent of patients’ hereditary backgrounds, tumor hormonal status, and the presence of infiltrating mononuclear inflammatory cells or PDL-1 expression in the primary tumor.

Abstract
OPINION STATEMENT Oncologists should be able to discern the salient clinical features of the most common germline mutations that give rise to neuroendocrine tumors. Astute recognition of an index patient affected by a hereditary syndrome can lead to a "tip-of-the-iceberg" phenomenon whereby their entire kindred can then be proactively monitored and managed potentially with substantial reduction of morbidity and mortality. Through careful history-taking, as well as thoughtful assimilation of findings from the physical exam, biochemical laboratories, scans, and pathology reports, the clinician can spot phenotypic clues that distinguish these familial patterns from sporadic cases of tumorigenesis.
