High capacity and high stability lithium-ion battery using nano Sn/SnS-decorated carbon leaf anode and LiCoO2 cathode for consumer electronics

Nickel-Ion Activating Discarded COVID-19 Medical Surgical Masks for Forming Carbon-Nickel Composite Nanowires and Using as a High-Performance Lithium Battery Anode

With the prevalence of COVID-19, wearing medical surgical masks has become a requisite measure to protect against the invasion of the virus. Therefore, a huge amount of discarded medical surgical masks will be produced, which will become a potential hazard to pollute the environment and endanger the health of organisms without our awareness. Herein, a green and cost-effective way for the reasonable disposal of waste masks becomes necessary. In this work, we realized the transformation from waste medical surgical masks into high-quality carbon-nickel composite nanowires, which not only benefit the protection of the environment and ecosystem but also contribute to the realization of economic value. The obtained composite carbon-based materials demonstrate 70 S m-1 conductivity, 5.2 nm average pore diameters, 234 m2 g-1 surface areas, and proper graphitization degree. As an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the prepared carbon composite materials demonstrate a specific capacity of 420 mA h g-1 after 800 cycles at a current density of 0.2 A g-1. It also displays good rate performance and decent cycling stability. Therefore, this study provides an approach to converting the discarded medical surgical masks into high-quality carbon nanowire anode materials to turn waste into treasure.

High-Performance-Based Perovskite-Supported Nanocomposite for the Development of Green Energy Device Applications: An Overview

Perovskite-based electrode catalysts are the most promising potential candidate that could bring about remarkable scientific advances in widespread renewable energy-storage devices, especially supercapacitors, batteries, fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells, and solar-cell applications. This review demonstrated that perovskite composites are used as advanced electrode materials for efficient energy-storage-device development with different working principles and various available electrochemical technologies. Research efforts on increasing energy-storage efficiency, a wide range of electro-active constituents, and a longer lifetime of the various perovskite materials are discussed in this review. Furthermore, this review describes the prospects, widespread available materials, properties, synthesis strategies, uses of perovskite-supported materials, and our views on future perspectives of high-performance, next-generation sustainable-energy technology.

MoO2 coated few layers of MoS2 and FeS2 nanoflower decorated S-doped graphene interoverlapped network for high-energy asymmetric supercapacitor

Herein, the ultra-thin layer MoS₂ coverd MoO₂ nanocrystal arraying on sulfur-doped graphene framework (MoS₂-MoO₂/3DSG) is obtained via a simple hydrothermal procedure accompanied with high temperature annealing. Sodium thiosulfate and ethanethiol are used as sulfur sources to form three-dimensional sulfur doped graphene (3DSG) in the hydrothermal process. Importantly, MoO₂ nano-particles are uniformly loaded on MoS₂ nanosheets and 3DSG via in-situ collaborative technology. As a result, the stable conductive network take full use of the characteristics of high specific capacitance of MoO₂ nanoparticles, convenient ion transport channel of two-dimensional MoS₂ nanoflakes and efficient charge transfer and cross-linked 3DSG to improve the electrochemical activity and enhance the dynamics of electrons / ions, which is up to 1150.37 F g^-1 specific capacitance and maintains 94.6% of the original capacitance after 10,000 cycles. Also, FeS₂ nanoflowers in situ loading on 3DSG (FeS₂/3DSG) with enhanced the overall performance of the device are fabricated. The asymmetric supercapacitor with the positive electrode of MoS₂-MoO₂/3DSG and the negative electrode of FeS₂/3DSG can work efficiently and stably under the voltage of 1.7 V, and provide energy density of 87.38 Wh kg^-1 at the power density of 683.94 Wkg^-1, displaying an outstanding application prospect for energy storage.
