Abstract
Preparation of catalytically active dinuclear transition metal complexes with an open coordination sphere is a challenging task because the metal sites tend to be "saturated" with excess donor atoms around during synthesis. By isolating the binding scaffolds with the metal-organic framework (MOF) skeleton and installing metal sites through post-synthetic modification, we succeed in constructing a MOF-supported metal catalyst, namely FICN-7-Fe2, with dinuclear Fe2 sites. FICN-7-Fe2 effectively catalyses the hydroboration of a broad range of ketone, aldehyde, and imine substrates with a low loading of 0.05 mol%. Remarkably, kinetic measurements showed that FICN-7-Fe2 is 15 times more active than its mononuclear counterpart FICN-7-Fe1, indicating that cooperative substrate activation on the two Fe centres significantly enhances the catalysis.

Abstract
Trinuclear lanthanoid clusters have been synthesised and investigated as toroidal spin systems. A pyridyl functionalised β-diketonate, 1,3-bis(pyridin-2-yl)propane-1,3-dione (o-dppdH) has been used to synthesise a family of clusters of the form [Dy3(OH)2(o-dppd)3Cl2(H2O)4]Cl2·7H2O (1), [Tb3(o-dppd)3(μ3-OH)2(CH3CH2OH)3Cl3][Tb3(o-dppd)3(μ3-OH)2(H2O)(CH3CH2OH)2Cl3]Cl2·H2O (2), [Ho3(OH)2(o-dppd)3Cl(H2O)5]Cl3·3H2O (3) and [Er3(OH)2(o-dppd)3Cl2(H2O)3(CH3OH)]Cl2·3H2O·CH3OH (4). Despite the previous occurrence of this structural motif in the literature, these systems have not been widely investigated in terms of torodic behaviour. Magnetic studies were used to further characterise the complexes. DC susceptibility studies support weak antiferromagnetic exchange in the complexes. Slow magnetic relaxation behaviour is observed in the dynamic AC magnetic studies for complex 1. Theoretical studies predict that complex 1 and 3 have a non-magnetic ground state based on a toroidal arrangement of spins. Changes to the coordination environment in 2 do not support a toroic spin state. The prolate nature of the ErIII centres in complex 4 and large transverse anisotropy do not support the toroidal arrangement of lanthanoid spins in the complex.

Abstract
Two novel iridium(iii) complexes Ir(BTBP)2mepzpy and Ir(BTBP)2phpzpy were successfully synthesized, in which 2',6'-bis(trifluoromethyl)-2,4'-bipyridine (BTBP) was used as the main ligand, and 2-(3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)pyridine (mepzpy) and 2-(3-2-(3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl))pyridine (phpzpy) were introduced as the ancillary ligands, respectively. Both Ir(iii) complexes displayed bluish green emission peaks at 486 and 487 nm with high quantum efficiencies of 0.73 and 0.69, respectively. The organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with the structure of ITO/HATCN (hexaazatriphenylenehexacarbonitrile, 5 nm)/TAPC (bis[4-(N,N-ditolylamino)-phenyl]cyclohexane, 40 nm)/Ir(BTBP)2mepzpy or Ir(BTBP)2phpzpy (10 wt%): 2,6-DCzPPy (2,6-bis(3-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine, 10 nm)/TmPyPB (1,3,5-tri[(3-pyridyl)-phen-3-yl]benzene, 30 nm)/LiF (1 nm)/Al (100 nm) exhibited high efficiencies with low efficiency roll-off. Especially, the device based on the Ir(BTBP)2mepzpy complex achieved a maximum current efficiency of 58.17 cd A-1 and a maximum external quantum efficiency of 25.33% with Commission Internationale de 1'Eclairage coordinates of (0.19, 0.43). These results indicate that novel cyclometalated Ir(iii) complexes for high efficiency OLEDs with low efficiency roll-off were obtained by our rational design.

Abstract
In this paper we studied the reaction of ligands 2-[5-phenyl-1-(3,6,9-trioxodecane)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl]pyridine (L1) and 3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1-(3,6,9-trioxodecane)-1H-pyrazole (L2) with [MCl2(CH3CN)2] (M = Pd(ii), Pt(ii)), to obtain monomeric complexes [MCl2(L)] (M = Pd(ii): L = L1 (1), L = L2 (2); M = Pt(ii): L = L1 (3), L = L2 (4)). Additionally, the reaction of [Pd(CH3COO)2] with L1 (5) and L2 (6) was also studied pointing out dimeric structures with bridged acetates between the Pd(ii) atoms. All complexes were characterised by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, infrared spectroscopy (IR), 1H, 13C{1H}, and 195Pt{1H} NMR spectroscopies, and electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (MS-ESI(+)). The crystal structure of complex [PtCl2(L1)] (3) was determined by X-ray diffraction methods; it consists of a mononuclear complex where L1 acts as a bidentate chelate ligand. Moreover, we also studied the extended structure observing that the ether, present in the alkyl chain of the ligand, chlorine, and platinum moieties play a fundamental role in the final disposition of the supramolecular structure. All these results show how the design of an appropriate hybrid ligand can strongly influence the structural control of the molecular packing.

Abstract
The reaction of platinum(IV) complex trans-[PtCl4(EtCN)2] with pyrazoles 3,5-RR'pzH (R/R' = H/H, Me/H, Me/Me) leads to the formation of the trans-[PtCl4{NH=C(Et)(3,5-RR'pz)}2] (1-3) species due to the metal-mediated nitrile-pyrazole coupling. Pyrazolylimino complexes 1-3 (i) completely convert to pyrazole complexes cis-[PtCl4(3,5-RR'pzH)2] by elimination of EtCN upon reflux in a CH2Cl2 solution or upon heating in the solid state; (ii) undergo exchange at the imino C atom with another pyrazole different from that contained in the pyrazolylimino ligand. The reaction of trans-[PtIICl2(EtCN)2] and 3,5-RR'pzH, conducted under conditions similar to those for trans-[PtIVCl4(EtCN)2], is much less selective, and the composition of the products strongly depends on the pyrazole employed: (a) with pzH, the reaction gives a mixture of three products, i.e., [PtCl2NH=C(Et)pz-kappa2N,N}] (4), [PtCl(pzH){NH=C(Et)pz-kappa2N,N}]Cl (5), and [Pt(pzH)2{NH=C(Et)pz-kappa2N,N}]Cl2 (6) (complexes 5 and 6 are rather unstable and gradually transform to trans-[PtCl2(pzH2] and [Pt(pzH)(4)]Cl(2) and free EtCN); (b) with 3,5-Me(2)pzH, the reaction leads to the formation of [PtCl2NH=C(Et)(3,5-Me2pz)-kappa2N,N}] (7) and [PtCl(3,5-Me2pzH)3]Cl (8); (c) in the case of asymmetric pyrazole 3(5)-MepzH, which can be added to EtCN and/or bind metal centers by any of the two nonequivalent nitrogen sites, a broad mixture of currently unidentified products is formed. The reduction of 1-3 with Ph3P=CHCO2Me in CHCl3 allows for the formation of corresponding platinum(II) compounds trans-[PtCl2{NH=C(Et)(3,5-RR'pz)}2] (9-11). Ligands NH=C(Et)(3,5-RR'pz) (12-14) were almost quantitatively liberated from 9-11 with 2 equiv of 1,2-bis-(diphenylphosphino)ethane in CDCl3, giving free imines 12-14 in solution and the precipitate of trans-[Pt(dppe)2](Cl)2. Pyrazolylimines 12-14 undergo splitting in CDCl3 solution at 20-25 degrees C for ca. 20 h to furnish the parent propiononitrile and the pyrazole 3,5-RR'pzH, but they can be synthetically utilized immediately after the liberation.
