New butane-1,2,3,4-tetracarboxylato bridged cobalt(II) complexes

Crystal structure of hexaaquazinc(II) 4-nitrobenzoate dihydrate, C14H24N2O16Zn

C14H24N2O16Zn, triclinic, P1̄ (no. 2), a = 5.980(1) Å, b = 7.363(2) Å, c = 12.360(3) Å, α = 97.90(3)°, β = 96.83(3)°, γ = 91.16(3)°, V = 534.9 Å3, Z = 1, Rgt(F) = 0.0439, wRref(F2) = 0.1315, T = 295 K.

Bis(2,2'-bipyridine-κN,N')bis-[3-(3-hy-droxyphenyl)propenoato-κO,O]cadmium

The title compound, [Cd(C₉H₇O₃)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂], was synthesized under mild hydro­thermal conditions. The structure of the complex mol­ecule consists of four approximately planar fragments: two 3-(3-hy­droxyphenyl)propenoate residues and two 2,2′-bipyridine ligands [largest deviation from the least-squares planes is 0.240 (1) Å for one of 3-(3-hy­droxy­phenyl)propenoate residues]. The dihedral angles formed by the least-squares planes of the 2,2′-bipyridine ligands and the opposite 3-(3-hy­droxyphenyl)propenoate residues are 22.68 (7) and 26.47 (6)°. The CdN₄O₄ coordination polyhedron can be described as distorted dodecahedral. Inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds between carboxyl­ate O atoms and hy­droxy groups lead to the formation of chains along the a-axis direction.

Butane-1,2,3,4-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid-1,10-phenanthroline-water (1/2/2)

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C₁₂H₈N₂·C₈H₁₀O₈·2H₂O, contains one 1,10-phenanthroline mol­ecule, one half-mol­ecule of butane-1,2,3,4-tetra­carb­oxy­lic acid (H₄BTC) and a water mol­ecule, with the complete tetra-acid generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. Inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking inter­actions [centroid–centroid distances = 3.672 (2) and 3.708 (2) Å form an extensive three-dimensional network, which consolidates the crystal packing.
