Abstract
With the rising incidence of various diseases in China and the constant development of the pharmaceutical industry, there is a growing demand for floxacin-type antibiotics. Due to the large-scale production and high cost of waste treatment, the parent drug and its metabolites constantly enter the water environment through domestic sewage, production wastewater, and other pathways. In recent years, the pollution of the aquatic environment by floxacin has become increasingly serious, making the technology to degrade floxacin in the aquatic environment a research hotspot in the field of environmental science. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), as a new type of porous material, have attracted much attention in recent years. In this paper, four photocatalytic materials, MIL-53(Fe), NH2-MIL-53(Fe), MIL-100(Fe), and g-C3N4, were synthesised and applied to the study of the removal of ofloxacin and enrofloxacin. Among them, the MIL-100(Fe) material exhibited the best photocatalytic effect. The degradation efficiency of ofloxacin reached 95.1% after 3 h under visible light, while enrofloxacin was basically completely degraded. The effects of different materials on the visible photocatalytic degradation of the floxacin were investigated. Furthermore, the photocatalytic mechanism of enrofloxacin and ofloxacin was revealed by the use of three trappers (▪O2-, h+, and ▪OH), demonstrating that the role of ▪O2- promoted the degradation effect of the materials under photocatalysis.

Abstract
Magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were added into the aqueous phase to form nanofluid systems, in which ozone was used for the oxidation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) in the solution. The nanomaterials were characterized using SEM, XRD, EDS, and FT-IR. The effects of nanoparticles size, addition ratio, and number of cycles on the process of ozone oxidation of TC were investigated. The results indicated that the addition ratio of nanoparticles have a certain impact on the performance of ozone oxidation. When the addition ratio increased from 0.02% to 0.4%, the removal rate of TC in the solution was improved significantly. Besides, the particle size of nanoparticles showed a greater impact on ozone oxidation. At the nanoscale, Fe3O4 nanoparticles exhibited significant strengthening properties, which is attributed to the construction of nanofluid systems. The removal rate of TC in solution decreased obviously with the increase of nanoparticles size. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles with particle size of 20 nm showed the most significant effect on TC degradation. The recycling experiment showed that magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles had stable regeneration performance. For three times of recycling treatment, with a Fe3O4 addition ratio of 0.4%, the removal rate of TC reached 98.7%, 97.21%, and 96%, respectively. Based on the characterization results, the strengthening mechanism was analyzed. The experimental results indicated that construction of nanofluids systems could improve the utilization rate of ozone, and Fe3O4 nanoparticles were reusable and easily recyclable.

Abstract
A strategy to enhance the photocatalytic performance of metal-organic framework (MOF) based systems for the efficient elimination of Cr(VI) ions from polluted water under visible light irradiation has been developed by constructing MOF@MOF heterojunctions. Specifically, IRMOF-3 was grown in situ around NH2-MIL-101(Fe) based on interfacial Lewis acid-base interaction using 2-aminoterephthalic acid (ATA) as a linker, resulting in the formation of a MOF@MOF heterojunction, designated as IRMOF-3@NH2-MIL-101(Fe). In comparison to individual MOFs, the IRMOF-3@NH2-MIL-101(Fe) heterojunction exhibited a significantly higher photocatalytic reduction efficiency for Cr(VI), achieving a reduction of 95.98% within 120 min under visible-light irradiation. This performance surpasses that of individual MOFs and most reported photocatalysts. Additionally, the mechanism underlying Cr(VI) reduction by IRMOF-3@NH2-MIL-101(Fe) was comprehensively elucidated by analyzing optoelectronic properties, energy band structure, and structural results. It is worth noting that this study represents the first documented instance of photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction utilizing IRMOF-3 and its interaction with NH2-MIL-101(Fe). The MOF@MOF photocatalyst, leveraging the synergistic effects of its various components, holds great promise for efficiently removing harmful pollutants from water and finds significant potential applications in environmental remediation.

Abstract
The photocatalytic efficiency is commonly restrained by inferior charge separation rate. Herein, the S-scheme MIL-100(Fe)/NH2-MIL-125(Ti) (MN) photo-Fenton catalyst with the built-in electric field (BEF) was successfully constructed by a simple ball-milling technique. As a result, the MN-3 (the mass ratio of MIL-100(Fe) to NH2-MIL-125(Ti) was 3) composite presented the best visible-light-induced photocatalytic ability, in contrast to pure MIL-100(Fe) and NH2-MIL-125(Ti). The reduction efficiency of Cr(VI) almost reached 100% within 35 min of illumination. Moreover, the MN-3 heterojunction also exhibited the highest antibacterial activity, and about 100% E. coli and more than 90% S. aureus were killed within 60 min of illumination. In photo-Fenton system, In the photo-Fenton system, e-, O2•- and Fe2+ played vital roles for Cr(VI) reduction, and •OH, h+ and O2•- and 1O2 were responsible for sterilization. Additionally, 5 cyclic tests and relevant characterizations confirmed the excellent repeatability and stability of the composite. Also, the S-scheme charge transfer process was put forward. This work offers a novel idea for establishing the MOF-on-MOF photo-Fenton catalyst for high-efficiency environmental mitigation.

Abstract
Nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) has a high removal affinity toward arsenic (As). However, the agglomeration of nZVI reduces the removal efficiency of As and, thus, limit its application. In this study, we report an environmentally friendly novel composite of Chlorella vulgaris-supported nanoscale zero-valent iron (abbreviated as CV-nZVI) that exhibits a fast and efficient removal of As(III) from As-contaminated water. Scanning electron microscopy-energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), attenuated total reflection Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to characterize and analyze the CV-nZVI. These results indicated that the stabilization effect of C. vulgaris reduced the nZVI agglomeration and enhanced the reactivity of nZVI. The experiments showed a removal efficiency of 99.11% for As(III) at an optimum pH of 7.0. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir adsorption isotherm with the superior maximum adsorption capacities of 34.11 mg/g for As(III). The FTIR showed that the As(III) was adsorbed on the CV-nZVI surface by complexation reaction, and XPS indicated that oxidation reaction was also involved. After five reuse cycles, the removal efficiency of As(III) by CV-nZVI was 32.93%, suggesting that the CV-nZVI had some reusability and regeneration. Overall, this work provides a practical and highly efficient approach for As remediation in As-contaminated water, and simultaneously resolves the agglomeration problems of nZVI nanoparticles.

Abstract
Environmental pollution by emerging contaminants has become an urgent problem. Herein, novel binary metal-organic framework hybrids were constructed from Materials of Institute Lavoisier-53(Fe) (MIL-53(Fe)) and zeolite imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) for the first time. A battery of characterizations were employed to determine the MIL/ZIF hybrids' properties and morphology. Furthermore, the MIL/ZIF towards toxic antibiotics (tetracycline, ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin) were studied to explore their adsorption abilities. The present work disclosed that the obtained MIL-53(Fe)/ZIF-8 = 2:3 possessed an eminent specific surface area with an admirable removal efficiency of tetracycline (97.4%), ciprofloxacin (97.1%) and ofloxacin (92.4%), respectively. The tetracycline adsorption process conformed to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and this process was more compatible with the Langmuir isotherm model with the highest adsorption capacity of 215.0 mg g-1. Moreover, the process of removing tetracycline was proved to be spontaneous and exothermic by the thermodynamic results. Furthermore, the MIL-53(Fe)/ZIF-8 = 2:3 towards tetracycline exhibited significant regeneration ability. The effects of pH, dosage, interfering ions and oscillation frequency on tetracycline adsorption capacity and removal efficiency were also investigated. The primary factors contributing to the decent adsorption ability between MIL-53(Fe)/ZIF-8 = 2:3 and tetracycline included electrostatic, π-π stacking, hydrogen bonding and weak coordination interactions. Additionally, we also investigated the adsorption ability in real wastewater. Thus, the proposed binary metal-organic framework hybrid materials can be deemed a promising adsorbent in wastewater purification.

Abstract
Pristine SnO2, Fe-doped SnO2 and Ni-doped SnO2 were synthesized using facile hydrothermal method. Analysis based on XRD, TEM and UV-Vis DRS measurements demonstrated the successful insertion of Fe and Ni dopants into SnO2 crystal. Formaldehyde-detection measurements revealed that transition metal-doped SnO2 exhibited improved formaldehyde-sensing properties compared with that of pristine SnO2. When the amount of incorporated dopant (Fe or Ni) was 4 at.%, the most effective enhancement on sensing performance of SnO2 was obtained. At 160 °C, the 4 at.% Fe-SnO2 and 4 at.% Ni-SnO2 exhibited higher response values of 7.52 and 4.37 with exposure to low-concentration formaldehyde, respectively, which were 2.4 and 1.4 times higher than that of pristine SnO2. The change of electronic structure and crystal structure as well as catalytic effect of transition metals are chiefly responsible for the enhanced sensing properties.

Abstract
An iron-based metal-organic framework, MIL-53(Fe), was synthesized via the simple sonochemical method, which is a facial and fast strategy, and their adsorption performance for organic contaminants removal from aqueous solutions was studied. The crystal structure and morphology analysis indicate that the sonochemical synthesis of MIL-53(Fe) particles was faster than the solvothermal preparation method, showing high crystallinity with a downsized hexagonal bipyramid shape. Furthermore, the prepared MIL-53(Fe) exhibited enhanced adsorption capability for the organic dyes compared to metal-organic framework prepared via the solvothermal method and showed excellent maximum adsorption capability for the methyl orange removal from aqueous solutions. Based on the superior adsorption properties and facile synthesis, MIL-53(Fe) prepared by ultrasound irradiation has a potential application for an efficient, economic, and ecofriendly wastewater purification process.

Abstract
MIL-53(Fe) was successfully prepared and deposited on the surface carboxylated polyester (PET) fiber by an optimized conventional solvothermal or industrialized high temperature pressure exhaustion (HTPE) process to develop a PET fiber supported MIL-53(Fe) photocatalyst (MIL-Fe@PET) for the degradation of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) in water under light emitting diode (LED) visible irradiation. On the basis of several characterizations, MIL-Fe@PET was tested for the photocalytic ability and degradation mechanism. It was found that temperature elevation significantly enhanced the formation and deposition of MIL-53(Fe) with better photocatalytic activity. However, higher temperature than 130°C was not in favor of its photocatalytic activity. Increasing the number of surface carboxyl groups of the modified PET fiber could cause a liner improvement in MIL-53(Fe) loading content and photocatalytic ability. High visible irradiation intensity also dramatically increased photocatalytic ability and PVA degradation efficiency of MIL-Fe@PET. Na2S2O8 was used to replace H2O2 as electron acceptor for further promoting PVA degradation in this system. MIL-Fe@PET prepared by HTPE process showed higher MIL-53(Fe) loading content and slightly lower PVA degradation efficiency than that prepared by solvothermal process at the same conditions. These findings provided a practical strategy for the large-scale production of the supported MIL-53(Fe) as a photocatalyst in the future.

Abstract
Ever-increasing anthropogenic activities are radically deteriorating the environment by causing severe pollution. Thus, curtailing the environmental pollution and promotion of sustainable development, are the hot issues confronted by scientists in this modern era. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been highly recognized as emerging promising materials for environmental remediation due to their versatile structure and extraordinary properties. Among them, MILs (MIL = Matérial Institute of Lavoisier) are the series of MOFs mostly known for their incredible stability, unique tailorable pore structures, and astounding versatile environmental applications. Their exclusive physiochemical properties and multifunctionality make them proficient for a wide range of pollutants removal in the exposure of versatile harsh environments, compared to other MOFs. This piece of research summarizes the state-of-the-art of development of MILs on the broad spectrum, highlighting their specificities, such as synthesis techniques, modifications and applications for environmental remediation. However, MILs wonderful properties and extraordinary applications in multiple fields, their deployment on practical and commercial-scale pollutants remediation is hindered by insufficient scientific research on underlying mechanisms and relationships. Henceforth, this review not only signifies the emerging importance of MILs for environmental applications but also indicates the urgency to maximize the scientific research for exploitation of MOFs on a practical level and promotion of green technologies for environmental remediation.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a polymer hybrid family of compounds comprising metal ions that have been deliberately incorporated in organic ligands to form several multi-dimensional structures with unique structural and functional attributes. They have the typical properties of brittleness, major porosity, and randomly crystalline. These three factors hampered their potential incorporation into modern technologies. However, with the discovery of their polymers, hope was rekindled. Polymers, unlike their counterparts, are versatile and malleable and can be tailored into solids with a wide range of technical applications. MOFs can be effectively incorporated into polymer structures, resulting in polymers with enhanced properties and increased demand, according to recent studies. This review focuses on the synthetic procedures of MOFs used to create hybrid materials, as well as their potential environmentally related applications. Desalination, hazardous heavy metal removal and mitigation, gas and liquid separations and purifications, and dye removal will all be extensively discussed as applications. To assemble this review, we will add insight from recent papers and discoveries, as well as seminal reports from experts on the advancement of MOF-polymers.

Abstract
Porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with visible-light response have attracted much attention in the field of environmental purification and solar energy conversion. In this study, MIL-100(Fe) was modified with Bi2WO6 nanosheets by a facile hydrothermal method to fabricate a photocatalyst with direct Z-scheme heterojunction. When treating the tetracycline (TC) solution under natural sunlight, 12 wt%MIL-100(Fe)/Bi2WO6 obtained the highest apparent rate constant of (6.59 ± 0.52)✕10-3 L mg-1 min-1, which was 16.1 and 3.9 times than that of pristine MIL-100(Fe) and Bi2WO6, respectively. In addition to explore the feasibility of sunlight-activated MIL-100(Fe)/Bi2WO6 to remove TC under various conditions, the degradation intermediates and their possible transformation pathway were provided with the aid of three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix spectra and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry system. The results of Escherichia coli culture demonstrated that the biotoxicity variation of TC solution would first increase and then decrease with the photodegradation time. Ultimately, based on the results of bandgap calculation, radicals trapping and charge flow tracking experiments, the direct Z-scheme heterojunction between MIL-100(Fe) and Bi2WO6 nanosheets was confirmed and the photocatalytic mechanism for TC degradation was rationally proposed. This work enriched MOFs-based heterojunction photocatalysts and provided a promising method to eliminate hazardous TC from aqueous solution.

Abstract
Water is a supreme requirement for the existence of life, the contamination from the point and non-point sources are creating a great threat to the water ecosystem. Advance tools and techniques are required to restore the water quality and metal-organic framework (MOFs) with a tunable porous structure, striking physical and chemical properties are an excellent candidate for it. Fe-based MOFs, which developed rapidly in recent years, are foreseen as most promising to overcome the disadvantages of traditional water depolluting practices. Fe-MOFs with low toxicity and preferable stability possess excellent performance potential for almost all water remedying techniques in contrast to other MOF structures, especially visible light photocatalysis, Fenton, and Fenton-like heterogeneous catalysis. Fe-MOFs become essential tool for water treatment due to their high catalytic activity, abundant active site and pollutant-specific adsorption. However, the structural degradation under external chemical, photolytic, mechanical, and thermal stimuli is impeding Fe-MOFs from further improvement in activity and their commercialization. Understanding the shortcomings of structural integrity is crucial for large-scale synthesis and commercial implementation of Fe-MOFs-based water treatment techniques. Herein we summarize the synthesis, structure and recent advancements in water remediation methods using Fe-MOFs in particular more attention is paid for adsorption, heterogeneous catalysis and photocatalysis with clear insight into the mechanisms involved. For ease of analysis, the pollutants have been classified into two major classes; inorganic pollutants and organic pollutants. In this review, we present for the first time a detailed insight into the challenges in employing Fe-MOFs for water remediation due to structural instability.

Abstract
An excellent heterojunction structure is vital for the improvement of photocatalytic performance. In this study, BiOCl/MIL-100(Fe) hybrid composites were prepared via a one-pot coprecipitation method for the first time. The prepared materials were characterized and then used as a photo-Fenton catalyst for the removal of organic pollutants in wastewater. The BiOCl/MIL-100(Fe) hybrid exhibited better photo-Fenton activity than MIL-100(Fe) and BiOCl for RhB degradation; in particular, the hybrid with 50% Bi molar concentration showed the highest efficiency. The excellent performance can be ascribed to the presence of coordinatively unsaturated iron centers, abundant Lewis acid sites, fast H2O2 activation, and efficient carrier separation on BiOCl nanosheets due to the high charge carrier mobility of the nanosheets. The photo-Fenton mechanism was studied, and the results indicated that ˙OH and h+ were the main active species for organic pollutant degradation. The coprecipitation-based hybridization approach presented in this paper opens up an avenue for the sustainable fabrication of photo-Fenton catalysts with abundant coordinatively unsaturated metal centers and efficient electron–hole separation capacity. An excellent heterojunction structure is vital for the improvement of photocatalytic performance.![]()

Abstract
Multiporous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as a subclass of highly crystalline inorganic-organic materials, which are endowed with high surface areas, tunable pores, and fascinating nanostructures. Heterostructured MOF-on-MOF composites are recently becoming a research hotspot in the field of chemistry and materials science, which focus on the assembly of two or more different homogeneous or heterogeneous MOFs with various structures and morphologies. Compared with one single MOF, the dual MOF-on-MOF composites exhibit unprecedented tunability, hierarchical nanostructure, synergistic effect, and enhanced performance. Due to the difference of inorganic metals and organic ligands, the lattice parameters in a, b, and c directions in the single crystal cells could bring about subtle or large structural difference. It will result in the composite material with distinct growth methods to obtain secondary MOF grown from the initial MOF. In this review, the authors wish to mainly outline the latest synthetic strategies of heterostructured MOF-on-MOFs and their derivatives, including ordered epitaxial growth, random epitaxial growth, etc., which show the tutorial guidelines for the further development of various MOF-on-MOFs.

Abstract
In order to circumvent the water eutrophication caused by nitrogen loss in agriculture, slow-release and high-water containing fertilizers have captured much attention. Considering the unstable release of traditional slow-released fertilizers, novel strategies need to be designed to meet the steady release of fertilizers. Herein, by integrating cellulose-based hydrogel with MIL-100(Fe), a pH-sensitive Cellulose/MOFs hydrogel (CAM) with a high surface area (45.25 m2/g) was devised. The volume changes and the water adsorption of the hydrogels were uncovered from pH 3 to pH 11, where the highest water adsorption (100 g/g) was achieved at pH 11. Besides, a pH-sensitive urea slow release fertilizer (U-CAM) was also designed. The urea release of the U-CAM at pH 11 was much slower than that of the U-CAM at pH 3, which indicated its potential application in arid regions. In parallel with a favorable water-holding capacity, the totally loss of the soil moisture loaded with U-CAM was slowed down by 18 days as compared with the pure soil. The positive effect of the U-CAM on the growth of wheat was indexed with the germination rate, number of tillers, photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll content of the crop, which verified their further application in irrigating farming.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have recently debuted as participants and solid supports in catalysts for environmental application in water treatment. Visible light active nanocomposites; ZnO/MIL-101(Fe); were synthesized via a hydrothermal method by loading ZnO; prepared by a green method; on a porous MIL-101(Fe) to be used as a heterogeneous catalyst for Rhodamine B dye (RhB) degradation as a model pollutant. The effect of adding acetic acid during the preparation of MIL-101(Fe) was studied; [A] used for the samples prepared by acetic acid. The prepared catalysts were characterized by XPS, XRD, zeta potential, TGA, FTIR, N2 adsorption-desorption measurements, SEM, EDX, elemental mapping, TEM, and UV-VIS diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The loading of ZnO on MIL-101(Fe) decreased the band gap from 3.2 eV for ZnO to be 2.85 eV for ZnO/MIL-101(Fe)[A], this low band gap explaining the obtained high activity under visible light irradiation. The mechanism of the photocatalytic degradation of RhB was investigated by introducing different scavengers to compete for the possible reactive species involved in the degradation process. The trapping experiments indicated that h+ and •OH have a vital role in the RhB degradation. The reusability of MIL-101(Fe) was also investigated after three runs. Thus, the synthesized ZnO/MIL-101(Fe)[A] could be used as an alternative catalyst for the photocatalytic degradation of coloured wastewater as it can successfully degrade 97.1% of Rhodamine B (10 mg/L) with high reaction rate (k = 0.0339 min-1) under visible light irradiation for 300 min using 0.5 g/L of the catalyst. The as-prepared ZnO/MIL-101(Fe) and ZnO/MIL-101(Fe)[A] have competitive photocatalytic dye degradation activity.

Abstract
Water-borne emerging pollutants are among the greatest concern of our modern society. Many of these pollutants are categorized as endocrine disruptors due to their environmental toxicities. They are harmful to humans, aquatic animals, and plants, to the larger extent, destroying the ecosystem. Thus, effective environmental remediations of these pollutants became necessary. Among the various remediation techniques, adsorption and photocatalytic degradation have been single out as the most promising. This review is devoted to the compilations and analysis of the role of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and their composites as potential materials for such applications. Emerging organic pollutants, like dyes, herbicides, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, phenols, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and perfluorinated alkyl substances, have been extensively studied. Important parameters that affect these processes, such as surface area, bandgap, percentage removal, equilibrium time, adsorption capacity, and recyclability, are documented. Finally, we paint the current scenario and challenges that need to be addressed for MOFs and their composites to be exploited for commercial applications.

Abstract
In this work, a novel visible light-driven heterostructure Ag3PO4/MIL-100(Fe) composite photocatalyst was successfully synthesized via facile chemical deposition method at room temperature. Especially when the mass ratio of Ag3PO4 was 20% of MIL-100(Fe) (APM-2), it displayed the best photocatalytic performance, for which the degradation rate of tetracycline (TC) in conventional environment was 6.8 times higher than that of bare MIL-100(Fe). In addition, the effects of the initial concentration and pH of the solution on the degradation of tetracycline were also studied, and the results showed that the degradation of tetracycline was more favorable in a weakly alkaline environment. The excellent performance of Ag3PO4/MIL-100(Fe) composites was attributed to the fact that on the basis of having adequate photocatalytic active sites, modifying MIL-100(Fe) with an appropriate amount of Ag3PO4 particles can more effectively separate photogenerated electron-hole pairs. Five cycles of experiments showed that APM-2 has good photostability. Lastly, it was proved through quenching experiments that •O2-, h+, and •OH all played corresponding roles in the degradation process, and a possible Z-scheme heterostructure photocatalytic degradation mechanism was proposed.

Abstract
Iron-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with low cost and excellent photocatalytic potential are extremely attractive in the field of energy utilization and environmental remediation. In this study, a novel In2S3/MIL-100(Fe) photocatalyst was successfully synthesized by a facile solvothermal method for the first time. Several technologies (such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) were used to characterize the as-obtained samples and demonstrate the successful combination of MIL-100(Fe) and In2S3. Experimental results showed that 18% of tetracycline (TC) was adsorbed under dark condition and another 70% of TC was degraded under visible-light irradiation when treating 100 mL of TC solution (10 mg/L) with 30 mg of In2S3/MIL-100(Fe) composites. The corresponding TC removal efficiency was almost 1.9 and 1.6 times higher than that of pure MIL-100(Fe) and In2S3, respectively. The mechanism investigations revealed that the heterojunction composite exhibited superior charge transfer than either MIL-100(Fe) or In2S3, and this caused more efficient separation of electron-hole pairs. As a result, more radicals and holes were generated in the composite, leading to better photocatalytic performance. This work highlights the powerful combination of MOFs and semiconductor, which is a promising approach to fabricate heterojunction photocatalyst for wastewater purification.

Abstract
A new microporous MIL-100(Fe)/Ti3C2 MXene composite was constructed as a non-noble metal-based Schottky junction photocatalyst with improved nitrogen fixation ability. Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets exhibited excellent metal conductivity and were employed as two-dimensional support to optimize the composite's energy band structure. MIL-100(Fe) with a large specific surface area was used as an adsorbent and a photocatalytic oxidation center. The MIL-100(Fe)/Ti3C2 MXene composite not only exhibited higher thermal stability but also showed significantly increased nitrogen fixation activity under visible light. The NO conversion rate of the composite catalyst was about four and three times higher than that of the pure Ti3C2 MXene and the pure MIL-100(Fe) samples, respectively. Although adsorption plays an important role in the nitrogen fixation process, the synergistic effects of the Schottky junctions are the main cause of the enhanced photocatalytic activity. The built-in electric field can be generated to form charge-transfer channels, which help to achieve a desirable photocatalytic activity.
