Abstract
A fully reusable electrochemical device is proposed for the first time made from laser cutting and a homemade conductive ink composed of carbon and nail polish. As a sensor substrate, we applied polymethyl methacrylate, which allows the surface to be renewed by simply removing and reapplying a new layer of ink. In addition to the ease of renewing the sensor's conductive surface, the design of the device has allowed for the integration of different forms of analysis. The determination of L-Dopa was performed using DPV, which presented a linear response range between 5.0 and 1000.0 μmol L-1, and a LOD of 0.11 μmol L-1. For dopamine, a flow injection analysis system was employed, and using the amperometric technique measurements were performed with a linear ranging from 2.0 to 100.0 μmol L-1 and a LOD of 0.26 μmol L-1. To demonstrate its applicability, the device was used in the quantification of analytes in pharmaceutical drug and synthetic urine samples.

Abstract
Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the leading neurological disorders negatively impacting health on a global scale. Patients diagnosed with PD require frequent monitoring, prescribed medications, and therapy for extended periods as symptom severity worsens. The primary pharmaceutical treatment for PD patients is levodopa (L-Dopa) which reduces many symptoms experienced by PD patients (e.g., tremors, cognitive ability, motor dysfunction, etc.) through the regulation of dopamine levels in the body. Herein, the first detection of L-Dopa in human sweat using a low-cost 3D printed sensor with a simple and rapid fabrication protocol combined with a portable potentiostat wirelessly connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth is reported. By combining saponification and electrochemical activation into a single protocol, the optimized 3D printed carbon electrodes were able to simultaneously detect uric acid and L-Dopa throughout their biologically relevant ranges. The optimized sensors provided a sensitivity of 83 ± 3 nA/μM from 24 μM to 300 nM L-Dopa. Common physiological interferents found in sweat (e.g., ascorbic acid, glucose, caffeine) showed no influence on the response for L-Dopa. Lastly, a percent recovery of L-Dopa in human sweat using a smartphone-assisted handheld potentiostat resulted in the recovery of 100 ± 8%, confirming the ability of this sensor to accurately detect L-Dopa in sweat.

Abstract
The excessive intake of chlorpromazine (CPZ) adversely affects human health profoundly, leading to a series of severe diseases such as hepatomegaly and dyskinesia. The rapid and precise detection of CPZ in real samples is of great significance for its effective surveillance. Herein, a versatile and sensitive electrochemical sensor was developed for the detection of antipsychotic drug CPZ based on a Nafion (Nf)-supported nitrogen-doped carbon dots/cuprous oxide (N-CDs/Cu2O) composite. The as-synthesized N-CDs/Cu2O composite was systematically characterized using various physicochemical techniques. The developed composite-based sensor displayed excellent performance towards CPZ determination in a dynamic linear range of 0.001-230 µM with the detection limit of 25 nM. Remarkably, the developed sensor displayed good performance in terms of sensitivity and selectivity. Furthermore, good anti-interference properties toward CPZ determination were attained despite the presence of highly concentrated interfering compounds. Therefore, this composite could be a notable potential modifier to enhance electrocatalytic activity onto the surface of the electrode. Finally, N-CDs/Cu2O/Nf-based sensor was effectively applied for quantification of CPZ in human urine and pharmaceutical formulation samples.

Abstract
This first-attempt study used electrochemical methods to quantitatively assess electron-shuttling capabilities of different neurotransmitters crucial to catecholamine biosynthesis in human brain. As prior studies mentioned, aromatics bearing ortho- or para-dihydroxybenzenes could reveal promising electroactivities to stimulate bioenergy generation in microbial fuel cells (MFCs). This feasibility study extended to investigate the electrochemical characteristics of catecholamines and trace amines (e.g., 14 model compounds selected from neurotransmitters) synthesized by human brain via cyclic voltammetry methods (CVs) and MFCs. Dopamine (DA), levodopa (L-DOPA), epinephrine (EP), norepinephrine (NP), and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) would perform the electron-shuttling characteristics, and the rest would not. In particular, DA formed by decarboxylation of L-DOPA could exhibit relatively higher electrochemical activities than their precursors. In addition, carboxylic acids formed by deamination and carboxylation of trace monoamines would reveal more significant reductive potential (Epc); however, their oxidative electric currents seemed to be reduced. That is, chemical structure significantly influenced whether the electrochemical characteristics could be effectively expressed. This work also clearly revealed that neurotransmitters with ortho-dihydroxybenzenes exhibited promising stimulation to bioelectricity-generating capabilities of MFCs in the ranking of DA ~ EP > NP > L-DOPA > DOPAC. This was consistent with ES behaviors as CV analyses indicated.

Abstract
Purpose: Herein we introduce a simple and sensitive sensor for the electrochemical determination of neurotransmitters compounds and anti-Parkinson drugs.
Methods: The electrochemical sensor (Au/CILCE) based on gold nanoclusters modified carbon ionic liquid crystal (ILC) electrode was characterized using scanning electron microscopy and voltammetry measurements.
Results: The effect of ionic liquid type in the carbon paste composite for the electro-catalytic oxidation of L-dopa was evaluated. Highest current response was obtained in case of ILC compared to other studied kinds of ionic liquids. The effective combination of gold nanoclusters and ILC resulted in extra advantages including large surface area and high ionic conductivity of the nanocomposite. L-dopa is considered one of the most important prescribed medicines for treating Parkinson’s disease. Moreover, a binary therapy using L-dopa and carbidopa proved effective and promising as it avoids the short comings of L-dopa mono-therapy for Parkinson’s patients. The Au/CILCE can detect L-dopa in human serum in the linear concentration range of 0.1 μM to 90 μM with detection and quantification limits of 4.5 nM and 15.0 nM, respectively. Also, the Au/CILCE sensor can simultaneously and sensitively detect L-dopa in the presence of carbidopa with low detection limits.
Conclusion: The sensor is advantageous to be applicable for electrochemical sensing of other biologically electroactive species.

Abstract
The spectrophotometric-chemometric analysis of levodopa and carbidopa that are used for Parkinson's disease was analyzed without any prior reservation. Parkinson's drugs in the urine sample of a healthy person (never used drugs in his life) were analyzed at the same time spectrophotometrically. The chemometric methods used were partial least squares regression (PLS) and principal component regression (PCR). PLS and PCR were successfully applied as chemometric determination of levodopa and carbidopa in human urine samples. A concentration set including binary mixtures of levodopa and carbidopa in 15 different combinations was randomly prepared in acetate buffer (pH 3.5).). UV spectrophotometry is a relatively inexpensive, reliable, and less time-consuming method. Minitab program was used for absorbance and concentration values. The normalization values for each active substance were good (r2>0.9997). Additionally, experimental data were validated statistically. The results of the analyses of the results revealed high recoveries and low standard deviations. Hence, the results encouraged us to apply the method to drug analysis. The proposed methods are highly sensitive and precise, and therefore they were implemented for the determination of the active substances in the urine sample of a healthy person in triumph.

Abstract
In situ polymerization is a simple and efficient technique for modification and fabrication of modified electrodes in voltammetry. An efficient and highly sensitive square wave voltammetric (SWV) method was developed for analysis of a 5-HT3 antagonist granisetron (GRN) using in situ polymerized glycine on pencil graphite electrode surface. It was found that the fabricated polymer enhanced the sensitivity by more than two times and enhanced the surface activity by more than three times. Surface area measurements showed that poly-Gly/PGE have large surface area of 44.3 mm2, when compared to that of bare PEG (12.1 mm2). Several methods as cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques were used to characterize the modified surface. Further, FT-IR spectroscopic study was used to predict the way of glycine polymerization on electrode surface and the possible interaction mechanism with GRN. After optimization, the proposed method showed a linear response of GRN concentrations in the range from 0.08 to 3.00 μmol L−1 with a limit of detection (LOD) of 26.2 nmol L−1 (9.14 ng mL−1). The method was utilized for GRN determination in ampoules and in real human plasma samples. In situ polymerization is a simple and efficient technique for modification and fabrication of modified electrodes in voltammetry.![]()
