Abstract
Copper mediated C(sp2)-H amination and hydroxylation of arylphosphinic acid are accomplished by adopting phosphinamide as the directing group. This method is distinguished by its wide substrate scope and excellent functional group tolerance, thus allowing for the rapid preparation of organophosphorus compounds in organic synthesis.

Abstract
The selective asymmetric hydrogenation of four-membered exo-α,β-unsaturated cyclobutanones has been achieved for the first time using RuPHOX-Ru as a catalyst, providing four-membered exo-cyclic chiral allylic alcohols in high yields and with up to 99.9% ee. The reaction could be performed on a gram scale with a relatively low catalyst loading (up to 10000 S/C), and the resulting products can be transformed to several biologically active molecules.

Abstract
Chiral chromanols and their derivatives have been synthesized via a RuPHOX-Ru catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of chromones in high yields, >20 : 1 drs and with up to 99.9% ee. Control experiments show that the reaction undergoes two sequential asymmetric hydrogenation steps of the C[double bond, length as m-dash]C and C[double bond, length as m-dash]O double bonds. The reaction could be performed on a gram-scale with a relatively low catalyst loading (up to 1000 S/C), and the resulting products can be transformed to several biologically active compounds.

Abstract
A synthesis of new NeoPHOX ligands derived from serine or threonine has been developed. The central intermediate is a NeoPHOX derivative bearing a methoxycarbonyl group at the stereogenic center next to the oxazoline N atom. The addition of methylmagnesium chloride leads to a tertiary alcohol, which can be acylated or silylated to produce NeoPHOX ligands with different sterical demand. The new NeoPHOX ligands were tested in the iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation and palladium-catalyzed allylic substitution. In both reactions high enantioselectivities were achieved, that were comparable to the enantioselectivities obtained with the up to now best NeoPHOX ligand derived from expensive tert-leucine.

Abstract
Seven strains of marine-derived fungi (Aspergillus sclerotiorum CBMAI 849, Cladosporium cladosporioides CBMAI 857, Penicillium raistrickii CBMAI 931, Penicillium citrinum CBMA 1186, Mucor racemosus CBMAI 847, Beauveria felina CBMAI 738, and Penicillium oxalicum CBMAI 1185) and terrestrial fungus Penicillium chrysogenum CBMA1199 were screened as catalysts for the asymmetric reduction of α-keto azides 5-8 to their corresponding β-azidophenylethanols 9-12. The marine fungi showed Prelog and anti-Prelog selectivities to the reduction α-keto azides 5-8. The fungi A. sclerotiorum CBMAI 849, C. cladosporioides CBMAI 857, P. raistrickii CBMAI 931, and P. citrinum CBMA 1186 catalyzed the reduction of azido ketone 6 to the corresponding (R)-2-azido-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol (10) with good conversions (68-100 %) and excellent enantiomeric excesses (>99 % ee) according to Prelog rule.

Abstract
Compared to their C1-symmetric counterparts, planar chiral C2-symmetric metallocenyl P,N-ligands are efficient chiral ligands for Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic aminations, providing a number of amination products with high enantioselectivities. A non-C2-symmetric ferrocenyl P,N-ligand (a by-product obtained during the synthesis of the above C2-symmetric species) was also found to be an efficient ligand for asymmetric allylic aminations. A mixed ligand system consisting of both C2- and non-C2-symmetric ferrocene complexes was examined and showed high catalytic activity with the amination products being obtained with excellent enantioselectivities.

A. sydowii Ce15 and Bionectria sp. Stereoselective bioreduction by whole cells of marine-derived fungi described by us is important for the production of new reductases from marine-derived fungi.
