Abstract
Individually, hydroxycoumarin and amino pyrimidine derivatives are of significant biological interest owing to their importance in drugs and pharmaceuticals. To access their combined biological impact into one molecule, we designed a novel, one-pot green approach for synthesizing trisubstituted methanes. A series of new heteroaryl-substituted methanes have been synthesized and subjected to in vitro antibacterial and antioxidant evaluation. Tests against clinical isolates of Escherichia coli (gram-negative) and Staphylococcus aureus showed potent activity of the derivatives 4a, 4b, 4d, 4e, 4f, 4l, and 5 against the former, and 4a, 4e, 4j, and 4l against the later one. Further, antioxidant assay for these TRSMs was also studied where 4a, 4b, 4f, 4j, and 4l exhibited the most promising results. These preliminary bioassay evaluations strongly suggest the promise and scope of these molecules in medical science. A one pot methodology for the synthesis of coumarin and uracil tethered trisubstituted methanes has been reported. The synthesized derivatives were further analyzed for their antibacterial and antioxidant properties to explore their medicinal applications. The salient features of this methodology are operational simplicity, short reaction time, good to moderate yields of the products, easy purification method. Biochemical assay of the synthesized TRSMs a reveals their utility in medicinal & pharma industry.

Abstract
Helquats (HQs) are structurally linked to helicenes and viologens, and they represent an attractive field of research in chemistry and medicinal chemistry. In the present work they were used as catalysts for the synthesis of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines in good yields by the Povarov reaction. The substrate scope and the capability of different helquats to promote Povarov reactions are demonstrated. Studies to elucidate mechanistic details revealed that helquats act as single-electron transfer oxidants through a cation-radical mechanism. The screening of the catalytic activity of HQs confirmed that an active HQ must have a LUMO energy below -8.67 eV and the standard redox potential higher (less negative) than -1.2 V vs. the ferrocene/ferrocenium redox couple.

Abstract
Aza-Diels-Alder-type cycloaddition reactions between a range of N-arylimines and functionalized alkenes were effectively catalyzed by the Cr(III)/bipyridine complex under irradiation of blue light, to give the corresponding 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline derivatives in high yields with excellent diastereoselectivity. Typically, the reaction of benzylideneaniline with 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone proceeded smoothly with a substrate-to-catalyst molar ratio (S/C) of 1000 and completed within 4 h at room temperature (20-25 °C), affording the cycloaddition product in 97% yield.

Abstract
Tetrahydroquinoline is a privileged scaffold with a large number of biological applications. The tetrahydroquinoline pharmacophore has been expanded to yield 34 compounds. Biological screening of these compounds led to the identification of tetrahydroquinoline as neurotropic agents not reported earlier.

Abstract
Discovered more than eight decades ago, the Diels-Alder (DA) cycloaddition (CA) remains one of the most versatile tools in synthetic organic chemistry. Hetero-DA processes are powerful methods for the synthesis of densely functionalized six-membered heterocycles, ubiquitous substructures found in natural products and bioactive compounds. These reactions frequently employ azadienes and oxadienes, but only a few groups have reported DA processes with thiadienes. The electron transfer (ET) version of the DA reaction, though less investigated, has emerged as a subject of increasing interest. In the last two decades, researchers have paid closer attention to radical ionic hetero-cycloreversions, mainly in connection with their possible involvement in the repair of pyrimidine(6-4)pyrimidone photolesions in DNA by photolyases. In biological systems, these reactions likely occur through a reductive photosensitization mechanism. In addition, photooxidation can lead to cycloreversion (CR) reactions, and researchers can exploit this strategy for DNA repair therapies. In this Account, we discuss electron-transfer (ET) mediated hetero-CR reactions. We focus on the oxidative and reductive ET splitting of oxetanes, azetidines, and thietanes. Photoinduced electron transfer facilitates the splitting of a variety of four-membered heterocycles. In this context, researchers have commonly examined oxetanes, both experimentally and theoretically. Although a few studies have reported the cycloreversion of azetidines and thietanes carried out under electron transfer conditions, the number of examples remains limited. In general, the cleavage of the ionized four-membered rings appears to occur via a nonconcerted two-step mechanism. The trapping of the intermediate 1,4-radical ions and transient absorption spectroscopy data support this hypothesis, and it explains the observed loss of stereochemistry in the products. In the initial step, either C-C or C-X bond breaking may occur, and the preferred route depends on the substitution pattern of the ring, the type of heteroatom, and various experimental conditions. To better accommodate spin and charge, C-X cleavage happens more frequently, especially in the radical anionic version of the reaction. The addition or withdrawal of a single electron provides a new complementary synthetic strategy to activate hetero-cycloreversions. Despite its potential, this strategy remains largely unexplored. However, it offers a useful method to achieve C═X/olefin metathesis or, upon ring expansion, to construct six-membered heterocyclic rings.

Abstract
A general and practical CAN-mediated oxidative radical α-coupling reaction of various imine surrogates with allylsilanes has been described. This multicomponent process affords β-allylated α-carbamido ethers as stable imine precursors in respectable yields under mild conditions.

Abstract
In the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst the domino reaction of arylamines, methyl propiolates and aromatic aldehydes in ethanol proceeded smoothly to give polysubstituted 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines in moderate yields. Abstract
Condensation of 3-aminocoumarin (5) with 4-nitrobenzaldehyde (8) afforded a 2-azadiene (9), which reacted with various electron-rich alkenes (10 examples) in the presence of Yb(OTf)3 to afford 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrido[2,3-c]coumarins. Yields were generally good, but the diastereomeric ratios were highly variable. The products arose through a formal [4 + 2] cycloaddition (inverse electron demand Diels-Alder reaction) followed by tautomerization. As such, these are examples of the Povarov reaction. A range of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrido[2,3-c]coumarins was then synthesized using a three-component version of this reaction, which involves in situ formation of the 2-azadiene component. Some of these products were converted into the corresponding pyrido[2,3-c]coumarins upon treatment with various oxidants, the most effective of which proved to be nitrous gases.
