Abstract
A new strategy for the synthesis of 2-arylbenzoxazole derivatives via nickel-/copper-catalyzed decarbonylative heteroarylation of aryl anhydrides via C-O/C-H coupling has been developed. The reaction is promoted by a user-friendly, inexpensive, and air- and moisture-stable Ni precatalyst. A variety of 2-arylbenzoxazole derivatives have been successfully synthesized and have good functional group tolerance in this process, which afforded products in moderate-to-excellent yields.

Abstract
In the literature, C-N coupling methods for the reaction of iodo-oxazole with 2-pyridinone were found to be low yielding. C-N coupling using silver benzoate additives with CuI catalysts and 4,7-dimethoxy-1,10-phenanthroline ligands has been developed to afford synthetically useful yields of the desired heterobicycle product. The reaction conditions are applied to the coupling of a range of iodo-heterocycles with 2-pyridinone. The coupling of a variety of NH-containing heterocycles with 4-iodo-oxazole is also demonstrated. The use of 2-, 4-, or 5-iodo-oxazole allows for the coupling of pyridinone to each oxazole position.

Abstract
An efficient halogenation of electron-deficient (hetero)arenes is described. The reaction utilizes common t-BuONa as a catalyst (for iodination) or a promoter (for bromination and chlorination), and perfluorobutyl iodide, CBr4 or CCl4 as the readily-available halogenating agents, respectively. The protocol features broad scope, high efficiency, mild conditions and gram scalability. An ionic pathway involving halogen bond formation and halophilic attack is proposed. The utility of the resulting iodinated heteroarenes is demonstrated in visible light-mediated Caryl-Caryl cross-coupling reaction.

Abstract
Carbon-halogen (C-X) bonds are amongst the most fundamental groups in organic synthesis, they are frequently and widely employed in the synthesis of numerous organic products. The generation of a C-X bond, therefore, constitutes an issue of universal interest. Herein, the research advances on the copper-catalyzed and mediated C-X (X = F, Cl, Br, I) bond formation via direct C-H bond transformation is reviewed.
