Abstract
The one-step reaction approach from syngas with hydrogen sulfide (CO/H2/H2S) over potassium (K) promoted Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) materials can provide alternatives for the synthesis of methanethiol (CH3SH). However, the direct confirmation and determination of the real active nature of K-induced 2H and 1T′-MoS2 for this reaction and the corresponding phase transformation behavior and origin of K-induced 2H-MoS2 from/to 1T′-MoS2 remains unclear. Herein, we proved at the atomic level the precise position of K over 1T′-MoS2 and 2H-MoS2 species using the technique of HAADF-STEM. A relationship between K-induced 1T′ and 2H-MoS2 phases and the catalytic property to synthesize CH3SH was established, and K-intercalated 1T′-MoS2 phase was confirmed to have excellent catalytic performances. Moreover, the behavior, origin, and influencing factors of phase transformation of 2H-MoS2 from/to 1T′-MoS2 in the existence of K were well proved. Abstract
Permanganyl fluoride's existence at the stability threshold in the series of oxides and oxide fluorides of the late 3d transition metals is reflected by its experimentally challenging properties and by the difficulties posed in the theoretical description of its bonding characteristics. The history of this molecule is reviewed from early qualitative observations and the growing scattered information on its chemical and physical properties to the accurate determination and interpretation of its molecular structure and spectral features. The still problematic theoretical models for MnO4 - and MnO3 F are briefly presented in the broader context of the chemistry of elements in high oxidation states. Short biographies of the scientists engaged in these studies are offered. Related technetium and rhenium compounds are briefly considered for comparison.

Abstract
Abstract
The trioxidomonosulfidomolybdate and -tungstate anions [(Mo/W)O3S]2– are the first products formed when passing H2S gas through a solution of the oxidometalates. Their potassium, rubidium and cesium salt hydrates form as crystalline precipitates from these solutions depending on pH, the polarity of the solvent, educt concentrations and temperature. The structures of the sesqui- (K) and mono- (Rb, Cs) hydrates have been determined by means of X-ray single crystal diffraction data. The potassium sesquihydrates K2[(Mo/W)O3S] · 1.5H2O are isotypic and crystallize with a new structure type (monoäclinic, space group C2/c, M = Mo/W: a = 987.0(2)/993.13(11), b = 831.75(14)/831.10(11), c = 1868.9(4)/1865.2(2) pm, β = 99.34(2)/99.153(8)°, R1 = 0.0352/0.0390). In the crystal structure the [(Mo/W)O3S]2– anions are connected via hydrogen bonds to form columns along the c direction. Channels containing only water molecules run along the [101] direction. The dehydration process proceeds in a topotactic reaction between 60 to 95 °C and yields crystals of the anhydrous salts K2[(Mo/W)O3S]. The two different K+ cations exhibit a 5 + 3 and 5 + 2 O/S coordination. The heavier alkali metal cations form the four monohydrates (Rb/Cs)2[(Mo/W)O3S] · H2O (trigonal rhombohedral, space group R-3m) with lattice parameters for the Rb/Cs molybdates of a = 621.17(6)/624.62(10), c = 3377.9(4)/3388.6(8) pm (R1 = 0.0505/0.0734) and the tungstates of a = 642.80(3)/643.3(4), c = 3532.8(3)/3566(4) pm (R1 = 0.0348/0.0660). In the structures the 3m symmetrical tetrahedra are arranged to form double layers in such a way, that the O3 bases of the tetrahedra are pointing towards each other in a staggered conformation. These double layers are stacked in the c direction in a rhombohedral sequence. In these hydrates, there are no distinct hyrdogen bonds. Instead, partially disordered pairs of H2O molecules are situated in large cavities between the double layers. With a number of 10, the cation coordination sphere is increased compared to the K salts. The crystallographic results are confirmed by vibrational spectroscopy (Raman/IR) and thermal analytical studies of the new compounds.

Abstract
An open capsule-type octanuclear heterometallic sulfide cluster without an intramolecular inversion center [Ru(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OMe)(3)}{MoO(mu(3)-S)(3)}(CuI)(2)](2) (5) has been synthesized for the first time by stepwise connection of three mononuclear building blocks, i.e., (i) [RuCl(2)(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OMe)(3)}] (1a) as an octahedral terminal building block to control the direction of cluster expansion, (ii) [MoOS(3)](2)(-) as a tetrahedral polydentate building block owing to the strong coordination ability of the S atoms, and (iii) a CuI building block to form a trigonal planar (mu-S)(2)CuI unit or to form a linkage unit of two incomplete cubane-type octanuclear frameworks. The stepwise connection was made in the following order: [RuCl(2)(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OMe)(3)}] (1a, mononuclear) --> [Ru(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OMe)(3)}{MoOS(mu(2)-S)(2)}] (2a, dinuclear) --> [Ru(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OMe)(3)}{MoO(mu(2)-S)(2)(mu(3)-S)}CuI] (3a, butterfly-type trinuclear) --> [Ru(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OMe)(3)}{MoO(mu(3)-S)(3)}(CuI)(2)](2) (5). When P(OMe)(3) was replaced by P(OEt)(3), which is more bulky than P(OMe)(3), in the starting ruthenium building block [RuCl(2)(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OEt)(3)}] (1b, mononuclear), only the tetranuclear incomplete single cubane cluster [Ru(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6)){P(OEt)(3)}{MoO(mu(3)-S)(3)}(CuI)(2)] (6) was generated, owing to the steric effect of P(OEt)(3).
