Abstract
Two layered compounds Cs2Ag2Sb2S5 (1) and CsAgSb4S7 (2) were successfully synthesized using a mild solvothermal method with thiourea as a mineralizer. The syntheses of these two silver-containing quaternary sulfides indicate that thiourea is a novel effective mineralizer. Both compounds are semiconductors and compound 1 exhibits excellent photocurrent response properties.

Abstract
An organic-inorganic hybrid silver iodobismuthate characteristic of the infrequent [Ag2BiI6L2] cluster (L = I or I3) and with a unique Ag/Bi molar ratio (2/1), namely, [Zn(bipy)3]2Ag2BiI6(I)1.355(I3)1.645 (bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine; 1), was solvothermally synthesized, and structurally, optically, and theoretically studied. Intriguingly, compound 1 exhibited semiconductor behavior with an optical band gap of 2.33 eV, which endowed it with excellent photoelectric and photocatalytic properties. Electronic structure calculations further revealed that the relative separate conduction band (CB) and valence band (VB) in compound 1 may be responsible for the good optical activity. This study also includes the Hirshfeld surface analyses, thermogravimetric measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) characterization.

Abstract
Two chalcogenide crystalline compounds, [enH2][Ag4Sb2S6] (en = ethylenediamine) and [enH][Ag2SbS3], have been successfully synthesized by mild ionothermal and solvothermal means. [enH][Ag2SbS3] crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric (NCS) and polar space group Pc, and its linear and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties have been investigated for the first time. Second harmonic generation (SHG) measurements revealed that [enH][Ag2SbS3] affords powder SHG performance values of 2.5 × KDP @1064 nm and 0.2 × AgGaS2 @2100 nm. Additional particle size vs. SHG efficiency measurements indicate that [enH][Ag2SbS3] is phase-matchable. The calculated birefringence Δn is 0.177 at 1064 nm, which is sufficiently large (the largest value among NCS thioantimonates) to achieve phase matching. [enH2][Ag4Sb2S6] crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P21/c and its structure features a double-layered variant honeycomb-like anionic network parallel to the ac plane separated by [enH2]2+ cations. The optical band gaps of [enH2][Ag4Sb2S6] and [enH][Ag2SbS3] are found to be 2.37 and 2.53 eV, respectively. Theoretical studies using density functional theory have been implemented to further elucidate the relationship between the band structure and NLO properties in [enH][Ag2SbS3].

Abstract
Open-framework sulfides (H3O)KCu6Ge2S8 (1) and (H3O)RbCu6Ge2S8 (2) were prepared by a cotemplating strategy. This shows that alkali-metal and protonated water cations act as cotemplates to direct the three-dimensional open-framework sulfides. These templates direct two types of one-dimensional channels that arrange parallelly, and different types of templates reside in different types of channels. By introduction of the Cs cation into the synthetic systems of 1 and 2, (H3O)K0.6Cs0.4Cu6Ge2S8 (3) and (H3O)Rb0.75Cs0.25Cu6Ge2S8 (4) were obtained. Compound 3 has a different anionic framework from those of 1 and 2, while 4 is isostructural with 1 and 2.

Abstract
Proton-conducting materials have attracted increasing interest because of the promising technological applications as key components in various electrochemical devices. It is of great significance for technique application to seek superior proton-conducting materials, operating under both anhydrous and humidified conditions in a wide temperature range. Herein we demonstrate the proton conductance of an open-framework chalcogenide, (CH3NH3)2Ag4Sn3S8 (1), and the postsynthesis product 2 achieved by doping hydrochloric acid into 1. Hybrid 2 displays both intrinsic anhydrous and water-assisted high proton conductance, with σ = 1.87 × 10-4 S·cm-1 at 463 K under N2 atmosphere and 1.14 × 10-3 S·cm-1 at 340 K and 99% relative humidity, and these conductivities are comparable to that in the efficient metal-organic frameworks-based proton-conducting materials. Moreover, hybrid 2 shows excellent thermal stability and long-term stability of proton conduction.

Abstract
We demonstrated the first case of a vertex–edge inter-cluster connection mode in a three-dimensional open-framework chalcogenide built from the largest known T5 cluster.
