Abstract
A novel ladder-type coordination polymer (CP), poly[(μ-4,4'-bipyridine-κ2N:N'){μ-4-[(4-carboxybenzyloxy)methyl]benzoato-κO}silver(I)](Ag-Ag), [Ag(C16H13O5)(C10H8N2)]n or [Ag(HL)(4,4'-bpy)]n {H2L is 4,4'-[oxybis(methylene)]dibenzoic acid and 4,4'-bpy is 4,4'-bipyridine}, was synthesized using hydrothermal methods. The complex was characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and is a ladder-type CP which exhibits an obvious Ag-Ag interaction. The legs of the ladder are formed by parallel 4,4'-bipy ligands and silver ions, and the rungs are constructed by Ag-Ag interactions. A Hirshfeld surface analysis was carried out and is discussed in detail. The complex also displays favourable fluorescence properties.

Abstract
In the title salt, C(10)H(11)N(3) (2+)·2C(8)H(5)O(4) (-), doubly protonated 4,4'-dipyridylamine (dpa) cations participate in N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding with two hydrogen phthalate anions to form a neutral unit. Both anions contain an intramolecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, these units form two-dimensional layers through π-π stacking inter-actions with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.763 (3) Å. In turn, these layers aggregate in three dimensions by additional N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. The assignment to the noncentrosymmetric space group P1 is corroborated by chemically unreasonable aromatic ring bond distances and poor K scale factor distributions for a disordered model in the centrosymmetric P space group.

Abstract
In the title compound, {[Zn(2)(C(16)H(4)I(2)O(8))(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), two crystallographically independent Zn(II) atoms are each located on a twofold rotation axis. Both Zn(II) atoms are in distorted octa-hedral coordination geometries: one is coordinated by six O atoms from four carboxyl-ate groups, while the other is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate groups and four water mol-ecules. The tetra-carboxyl-ate ligand mol-ecules connect the Zn(II) atoms, completing a three-dimensional metal-organic framework. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the metal-organic framework with the uncoord-inated water mol-ecules.
