Abstract
This study aims to probe into new series of heterobimetallic PtII-AuI complexes with a general formula of [Pt(p-MeC6H4)(dfppy)(μ-dppm)Au(NHC)]OTf, NHC = IPr, 2; IMes, 3; dfppy = 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridinate; dppm = 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane, which are the resultant of the reaction between [Pt(p-MeC6H4)(dfppy)(κ1-dppm)], 1, with [AuCl(NHC)], NHC = IPr, B; IMes, C, in the presence of [Ag(OTf)]. In the heterobimetallic complexes, the dppm ligand is settled between both metals as an unsymmetrical bridging ligand. Several techniques are employed to characterize the resulting compounds. Moreover, the photophysical properties of the complexes are investigated by means of UV-vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Furthermore, the experimental study is enriched by ab initio calculations (density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT)) to assess the role of Pt and Au moieties in the observed optical properties. It is revealed that 1-3 is luminescent in the solid state and solution at different temperatures. In addition, the achieved results indicate the emissive properties of 1-3 are originated from a mixed 3IL/3MLCT excited state with major contribution of intraligand charge transfer (dfppy). A comparative study is conducted into the cytotoxic activities of starting materials and 1-3 against different human cancer cell lines such as the pancreas (MIA-PaCa2), breast (MDA-MB-231), cervix (HeLa), and noncancerous breast epithelial cell line (MCF-10A). The achieved results suggest the heterobimetallic PtII-AuI species as optimal compounds that signify the existence of cooperative and synergistic effects in their structures. The complex 3 is considered as the most cytotoxic compound with the maximum selectivity index in our screened complex series. Moreover, it is disclosed that 3 effectively causes cell death by inducing apoptosis in MIA-PaCa2 cells. Furthermore, the finding results by fluorescent cell microscopy manifest cytoplasmic staining of 3 rather than nucleus.

Abstract
A comprehensive investigation of the functional properties of heteroleptic donor-M-acceptor dithiolene complexes Bu4N[MII(L1)(L2)] is presented (M = Pd, Pt). The acceptor L1 consists of the chiral (R)-(+)α-methylbenzyldithiooxamidate ((R)-α-MBAdto), the donor L2 is 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolato (dmit) in 1 (Pd) and 2 (Pt), 1,2-dicarbomethoxyethylenedithiolate (ddmet) in 3 (Pd) and 4 (Pt), or [4',5':5,6][1,4]dithiino[2,3-b]quinoxaline-1',3'-dithiolato (quinoxdt) in 5 (Pd) and 6 (Pt). L1 is capable of undergoing proton exchange and promoting crystal formation in noncentrosymmetric space groups. L2 has different molecular structures while it maintains similar electron-donating capabilities. Thanks to the synergy of the ligands, 1-6 behave as H+ and Ag+ switchable linear chromophores. Moreover, the compounds exhibit a H+-switchable second-order NLO response in solution, which is maintained in the bulk for 1, 3, and 4 when they are embedded into a PMMA poled matrix. 5 and 6 show unique anti-Kasha H+ and Ag+ tunable colored emission originating from the quinoxdt ligand. A correlation between the electronic structure and properties is shown through density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT calculations.

The novel platinum bis(isoselenocarbonyl) complex [Pt{SeCW(CO)2(Tp*)}2] is capable of opening both μ:σ–μ-CSe bridges to allow addition of nucleophilic (CNR: R = tBu, C6H2Me3) reagents to platinum by varying the selenocarbonyl bridging mode.

Abstract
Novel anionic cyclometalated Pt(ii) square-planar complexes NBu4[(C^N)PtII(S^S)], containing 2-phenylpyridine H(PhPy), 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-pyridine H(F2PhPy) and benzo[h]quinoline H(Bzq), respectively, as a cyclometalated ligand and the dianionic 1,2-benzenedithiolate (Thio)2- fragment as an (S^S) ligand, were synthesised. By the simple addition of an equivalent of (Thio)2- to the NBu4[(C^N)PtII(Thio)] complexes, octahedral anionic NBu4[(C^N)PtIV(Thio)2] analogues were obtained, representing, to the best of our knowledge, the first examples of Pt(iv) anionic cyclometalated complexes. The molecular structures of the obtained complexes in the case of the NBu4[(Bzq)PtII(Thio)] and the NBu4[(Bzq)PtIV(Thio)2] complexes were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Furthermore, the electrochemical and photophysical properties of the two series of Pt(ii) and Pt(iv) newly synthesised complexes were studied and DFT and TD-DFT calculations were performed in order to comprehensively investigate the displayed behaviour. All Pt(ii) and Pt(iv) complexes show intense luminescence in the solid state, with remarkable enhancement of the emission quantum yields, proving to be excellent examples of aggregation-induced emission systems.

Abstract
Complex [Pt(iPr2 pipdt)(Quinoxdt)] (iPr2 pipdt=1,4-diisopropyl-piperazine-2,3-dithione; Quinoxdt=[1,4]dithiino[2,3-b]quinoxaline-2,3-dithiolate) exhibits a remarkable green emission at 570 nm (room temperature), which is above the lowest excited state. The complex is characterized by negative solvatochromism as well as a high second-order polarizability. Addition of AgI ions induces 1) hypsochromic shift of the lowest frequencies and 2) reversible quenching of luminescence. The corresponding Ni and Pd complexes have also been prepared and investigated to assist interpretation of optical properties within the triad. Computational studies based on DFT and time-dependent DFT highlight the electronic properties of [Pt(iPr2 pipdt)(Quinoxdt)]. The preferential site of interaction between the Pt complex and incoming AgI is evidenced by the shape of the Fukui functions, pointing to the thiolic sulfur and platinum atoms as the most reactive sites towards a soft cation. Calculated optical properties are in agreement with experimental findings. This study sheds light on the structure-property relationship for this class of compounds.

Abstract
A series of cyclometalated platinum(II) complexes of the type [(ppy)Pt(LM)]n+ (n = 0, 1) with π-bonded catecholates acting as organometallic ligands (LM) have been prepared and characterized by analytical techniques. In addition, the structures of two complexes of the series were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The packing shows the formation of a 1D supramolecular assembly generated by dPt-πCp* interactions among individual units. All complexes are luminescent in the solid state and in solution media. The results of photophysics have been rationalized by means of density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT investigations.

Abstract
The dinuclear Pt-Au complex [(CNC)(PPh3 )Pt Au(PPh3 )](ClO4 ) (2) (CNC=2,6-diphenylpyridinate) was prepared. Its crystal structure shows a rare metal-metal bonding situation, with very short Pt-Au and Au-Cipso (CNC) distances and dissimilar Pt-Cipso (CNC) bonds. Multinuclear NMR spectra of 2 show the persistence of the Pt-Au bond in solution and the occurrence of unusual fluxional behavior involving the [Pt(II) ] and [Au(I) ] metal fragments. The [Pt(II) ]⋅⋅⋅ [Au(I) ] interaction has been thoroughly studied by means of DFT calculations. The observed bonding situation in 2 can be regarded as a model for an intermediate in a transmetalation process.

A six-membered cyclometalated complex [PtMe(bzpy)(PPh3)] (bzpy = 2-benzylpyridinate) undergoes oxidative addition with methyl iodide to give [PtMe2I(bzpy)(PPh3)]. The ring size of the chelating unit has a significant impact on the rate of the reaction.
