Abstract
The reaction of a reactive nickel dimethyl 1 bearing a redox-active, dissymmetric ligand, which is obtained by deprotonation of 2-pyrimidin-2-yl-1H-benzimidazole (Hbimpm) with a divalent lanthanide complex, Cp*2Yb(OEt2), affords an unprecedented, trimeric 2 with C(sp3)-C(sp3) bond formation between two ligands in an exo position. Meanwhile, the transient, dimeric species 3 can be isolated with the same ligand coupling fashion, however, with a drastic distorsion angle of the bimpm ligand and reactive NiMe2 fragment, revealing the possible mechanism of this rearrangement. A much more stable dimeric congener, 5, with an exo ligand coupling, is synthesized in the presence of 18-crown-6, which captures the potassium counter ion. The C-C coupling formation between two bimpm ligands results from the effective electron transfer from divalent lanthanide fragments. Without the divalent lanthanide, the reductive coupling occurs on a different carbon of the ligand, nicely showing the modulation of the spin density induced by the presence of the lanthanide ion. The electronic structures of these complexes are investigated by magnetic study (SQUID), indicating a 2F7/2 ground state for each ytterbium in all the heterometallics. This work firstly reports ligand coupling reactivity in a redox-active, yet dissymmetric system with divalent organolanthanides, and the reactive nickel moiety can impact the intriguing transition towards a stable homoleptic, trinulear lanthanide species.

Abstract
Transition metal-catalyzed cross-couplings have been widely employed in the synthesis of many important molecules in synthetic chemistry for the construction of diverse C-C bonds. Conventional cross-coupling reactions require active electrophilic coupling partners, such as organohalides or sulfonates, which are not environmentally friendly enough. Herein, we disclose the first nickel-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl anhydrides and arylboronic acids for the synthesis of biaryls in a decarbonylation manner. The reaction tolerates a wide range of electron-withdrawing, electron-neutral, and electron-donating substituents in this process.

Abstract
In this work, three different types of acetylacetonato-based pincer-type nickel(ii) complexes (2) were prepared. Complex 2a possessed the tridentate ONN ligand, which was constructed by the condensation reaction of acetylacetone with N,N-diethylethylenediamine. Complex 2b contained the PPh2 donor group in contrast to the NEt2 group in 2a, i.e., an ONP ligand framework. Complex 2c was composed of the NNN ligand, which was prepared by the reaction of 4-((2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)amino)pent-3-en-2-one with N,N-diethylethylenediamine. In addition to X-ray diffraction analysis, these complexes were characterized spectroscopically. Their catalytic activity for a cross-coupling reaction of aryl halides with aryl Grignard reagents was also evaluated. Among these complexes, 2b acted as an effective catalyst for the cross-coupling reaction using aryl chlorides as electrophiles. The electronic properties of these Ni(ii) complexes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and density functional theory calculations.

Abstract
The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of benzyl carbamates with arylboronic acids was achieved in an environmentally benign medium. Using water as the sole solvent, such transformation took place very well to give the desired diarylmethane derivatives in good to almost quantitative yields in the presence of a well-defined NHC-Pd(ii)-Im complex under mild conditions. It is worth noting here that this is the first example of benzyl carbamates used in coupling reaction, thus affording a new method for the formation of diarylmethanes by palladium-catalyzed C-O bond activation.

Abstract
Polymerization of 2-chloro-3-substituted thiophenes proceeded with a stoichiometric amount of magnesium amide, TMPMgCl·LiCl, or a combination of a Grignard reagent and a catalytic amount of secondary amine in the presence of a nickel catalyst. Although the nickel-catalyzed polymerization with NiCl(2)dppe, which exhibited high catalytic activity in the reaction of bromothiophenes, was less effective, use of a nickel catalyst bearing N-heterocyclic carbene as a ligand was found to induce polymerization with controlled molecular weight and molecular weight distribution.
