Abstract
The total syntheses of penicibilaenes A and B are described. The key step is the tBuOK/DMSO-mediated tandem 5-exo-dig Conia-ene type reaction and 6-exo-dig Conia-ene type reaction to install the tricyclic [6.3.1.01,5] dodecane core of penicibilaenes from dibutynyl cyclohexanone in a single step, together with a sequence of copper-mediated conjugate addition and Crabtree's hydrogenation to forge the stereogenic centers at C5 and C2, respectively.

Abstract
The synthesis, characterization, and preliminary activity of an unprecedented tethered alkylidyne tungsten complex for ring expansion alkyne metathesis polymerization (REAMP) are reported. The tethered alkylidyne 7 is generated rapidly by combining alkylidyne W(CtBu)(CH2tBu)(O-2,6-i-Pr2C6H3)2 (6) with 1 equiv of an yne-ol proligand (5). Characterized by NMR studies and nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy, complex 7 is a dimer. Each metal center contains a tungsten-carbon triple bond tethered to the metal center via an alkoxide ligand. The polymerization of the strained cycloalkyne 3,8-didodecyloxy-5,6-dihydro-11,12-didehydrodibenzo[a,e]-[8]annulene, 8, to generate cyclic polymers was demonstrated. Size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and intrinsic viscosity (η) measurements confirm the polymer's cyclic topology.

Abstract

The
addition of propargylmagnesium bromide to fluorinated aromatic
sulfinyl imines gave homopropargyl amines with total regio- and diastereoselection.
Complete reversal of diastereoselectivity can be achieved in some
cases using coordinating (THF) or noncoordinating (DCM) solvents.
Substituted propargylic magnesium reagents have been also tested toward
fluorinated aryl sulfinyl imines affording chiral homoallenyl amines
with good yields and selectivity control. DFT calculations helped
to rationalize the origin of the experimental regio- and diastereoselectivities
observed in each case.

Abstract
Capitalizing on a recently reported iminosugar-based aza-crown (ISAC) accessed by a double Staudinger azaWittig coupling reaction, we have expanded the structural diversity of this new family of sweet cyclam analogs. Replacement of the two secondary amines linking the iminosugar units by two amide bonds obtained a cyclodimerization by with BOP and DIPEA led to a macrocycle that did not demonstrate efficient Zn2+ chelation unlike the parent ISAC. Introduction of two pyrene moieties on the secondary amines of the parent ISAC yielded a new fluoroionophore that selectively binds Hg2+ in methanol.

Abstract
Many efforts have been made on stimuli-responsive switchable catalysis to trigger catalytic activity over various chemical reactions. However, the reported light-, pH- or chemically responsive organocatalysts are mostly incomplete in the aspects of shielding efficiency and long-term performance. Here, we advance the flow-assisted switchable catalysis of metal ions in a microenvelope system that allows the on-off catalysis mode on demand for long-lasting catalytic activity. Various metal-ion catalysts can be selectively embedded in a novel polymeric core-shell of the heteroarm star copolymer of poly(styrene) and poly(4-vinylpyridine) emanated from a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane center. The immobilized core-shell polymer on the inner wall of a poly(dimethylsiloxane) envelope microreactor shows on-off switching catalysis between the expanded active mode and contracted protective mode under continuous flow of solvents or subsequent dry conditions. In particular, the preserved catalytic activity of toxic Hg2+ for oxymercuration was demonstrated even for 2 weeks without leaching, whereas the activity of moisture-sensitive Ru3+ ions for polymerization of methyl methacrylate was maintained even after 5 days from an open atmosphere. It is practical that the tight environment of the enveloped microfluidic system facilitates cyclic switching between the reaction-"on" and -"off" modes of such toxic, sensitive/expensive catalysts for long-term prevention and preservation.

Abstract
Abstract
The first synthesis of the (9R,13R)-stereoisomer of LDS1, a flower-inducing oxylipin isolated from Lemna paucicostata, has been achieved from a known allylic alcohol by a seven-step sequence that involves the Horner–Wadsworth–Emmons olefination to construct its full carbon framework and an enzymatic hydrolysis of a penultimate methyl ester intermediate to provide the target molecule.

Abstract
The fused 6/7/5/6/6/6-hexacyclic ring system of puberuline C was assembled in 18 steps from 2-(ethoxycarbonyl)cyclohexanone. After the azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane derivative was sequentially coupled with propargyl magnesium bromide, 2-iodo cyclopentenone and allyl bromide, the pentacycle was constructed in a single step via a radical-based cyclization/translocation/cyclization process. The C11-bridgehead radical generated via C-Br homolysis participated in a 7-endo cyclization, and the 1,5-hydrogen translocation of the resultant radical was followed by transannular 6-exo cyclization to simultaneously realize the construction of the two rings and the introduction of the five contiguous stereocenters. The last 6-exo cyclization was induced by the Mukaiyama aldol reaction, and the C16-ketone was stereoselectively reduced by the action of SmI2/t-BuOH, leading for the first time to the synthesis of the entire hexacycle of puberuline C.

Abstract
The first total synthesis of the marine prostanoids clavulolactones II and III is presented from an easily accessible chiral, non-racemic cyclopentenone intermediate. Key steps involve selective TBDMS deprotection, selective reduction of the β-side chain and aldol condensation. Clavulolactones II and III were successfully prepared from (S)-4-((tert-butyldimethylsilyl)oxy) cyclopent-2-en-1-one over nine steps, in overall yields of 21 and 7% respectively.

Abstract
The total synthesis of (±)-decinine has been achieved. The key steps in the synthesis involved the formation of lasubine II via a gold catalyzed annulation of 1-(but-3-yn-1-yl)piperidine and the formation of the 12-membered ring of decinine (1) with complementary atropselectivity via a VOF3-mediated oxidative biaryl coupling reaction.

Abstract
Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are important constituents in all organisms. They fulfil many functions, ranging from modulating the structure of membranes to acting as precursors of physiologically important molecules, such as the prostaglandins, which for a long time were the most prominent cyclic PUFA metabolites. However, since the beginning of the 1990s a large variety of cyclic metabolites have been discovered that form under autoxidative conditions in vivo to a much larger extent than do prostaglandins. These compounds--isoprostanes, neuroprostanes, phytoprostanes, and isofurans--proved subsequently to be ubiquitous in nature. They display a wide range of biological activities, and isoprostanes have become the currently most reliable indicators of oxidative stress in humans. In a relatively short time, the structural variety, properties, and applications of the autoxidatively formed cyclic PUFA derivatives have been uncovered.
