Abstract
A traceless arylsulfinate mediator strategy has been developed to switch the reaction course of β-chlorovinyl ketones with N-hydroxyamine. The soft α-vinyl enolization of (E)-β-chlorovinyl ketones was conducted in the presence of sodium arylsulfinate to give transient alkenyl sulfones that in turn reacted with NH2OH to give novel access to N-hydroxypyrroles. The mechanistic studies revealed the initial formation of oxazine intermediates that rearranged to thermodynamically stable aromatic products, N-hydroxypyrroles, under microwave-assisted heating conditions.

Abstract
Herein, we report an efficient method for the synthesis of (Z)-β-halovinyl ketones through a one-pot Sonogashira coupling and hydrohalogenation reaction promoted by palladium-copper catalyst and Brønsted acid. The ynone intermediates are generated in situ from readily available acid chlorides and terminal alkynes at room temperature, which are directly converted to (Z)-β-halovinyl ketones by treating with triflic acid. This method avoids the use of an external halogen source and features broad substrate scope, high yield, and good to excellent stereoselectivity.

Abstract
Described herein are two different methods for the synthesis of vinyl halides by a shuttle catalysis based iridium-catalyzed transfer hydrohalogenation of unactivated alkynes. The use of 4-chlorobutan-2-one or tert-butyl halide as donors of hydrogen halides allows this transformation in the absence of corrosive reagents, such as hydrogen halides or acid chlorides, thus largely improving the functional-group tolerance and safety profile of these reactions compared to the state-of-the-art. This method has granted access to alkenyl halide compounds containing acid-sensitive groups, such as tertiary alcohols, silyl ethers, and acetals. The synthetic value of those methodologies has been demonstrated by gram-scale synthesis where low catalyst loading was achieved.

Abstract
A convenient and broadly applicable method for the hydrohalogenation of ynones is described, by the combination of halotrimethylsilanes and tetrafluoroboric acid. Practically, one equivalent of HX (Brønsted acid) and BF3 (Lewis acid) is smoothly generated, which activates the carbonyl compounds. Through this protocol, 42 examples of (Z)-β-halovinyl carbonyl compounds (Cl, Br and I) were obtained, in good yields and high stereoselectivity having 2-MeTHF as a solvent.

Abstract
We have developed a highly regioselective homogeneous gold(I)-catalyzed anti-hydrochlorination of unactivated alkynes at room temperature. We have overcome the incompatibility between conventional cationic gold catalysts and chloride by using a hydrogen-bonding activation of the Au-Cl bond. This approach is scalable, exhibits excellent functional group tolerance, and can be conducted in open air.

Abstract
Iridium complexes show high catalytic activity in intermolecular additions of acid chlorides to terminal alkynes to afford valuable (Z)-β-chloro-α,β-unsaturated ketones. Ligands in the catalytic system play a crucial role in this reaction. An N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) is an efficient ligand for the addition of aroyl chlorides, while dicyclohexyl(2-methylphenyl)phosphine (PCy(2)(o-Tol)) is indispensable for the reaction of aliphatic acid chlorides. The addition reactions proceed regio- and stereoselectively with suppression of decarbonylation and β-hydrogen elimination, which have been two major intrinsic problems in transition-metal-catalyzed reactions. Stoichiometric reactions of active iridium catalysts with aroyl chlorides and aliphatic acid chlorides are carried out to gain insights into the reaction mechanisms.

Abstract
An iron-catalyzed regio- and stereoselective addition of acid chlorides to alkynes has been described. The reaction utilizes an inexpensive iron catalyst system and it is suitable for the formation of a variety of bifunctional molecules. This is an inexpensive, regio-, stereoselective and atom-economical approach to beta-chloro-alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones from simple and readily available starting materials.

Abstract
Chlorinative dimerization of terminal alkynes with trichloroacetyl chloride as chlorine donor proceeds in the presence of rhodium catalysts to give (Z,Z)-1,4-dichloro-1,3-butadienes stereoselectively. Ligand screening has revealed that reactions using sterically bulky and electron-donating ligands like trimesitylphosphine are high yielding. The reaction is compatible with a range of functional groups to give the title compounds nearly quantitatively in most cases. A mechanistic possibility involving coupling of beta-chloroalken-1-yl intermediate has been discussed.
