Abstract
A series of β-ketoamino-based N,O-chelate half-sandwich iridium complexes with the general formula [Cp*IrClL] have been prepared in good yields. These air-insensitive iridium complexes showed desirable catalytic activity in an amide preparation under mild conditions. A number of amides with diverse substituted groups were furnished in a one-pot reaction with good-to-excellent yields through an amidation reaction of NH2OH·HCl with aldehydes in the presence of these iridium(III) precursors. The excellent catalytic activity, mild reaction conditions, and broad substrate scope gave this type of iridium catalyst potential for use in industry. All of the obtained iridium complexes were well characterized by different spectroscopy techniques. The exact molecular structure of complex 3 has been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analysis.

Abstract
This paper reports on the simple synthesis of novel green magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) with effective catalytic properties and reusability. These heterogeneous nanocatalysts were prepared by the anchoring of Co and V on the surface of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles coated with ascorbic acid (AA) as a green linker. The prepared nanocatalysts have been identified by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray atomic mapping, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer analysis, coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The impact of CoFe2O4@AA-M (Co, V) was carefully examined for NH2OH·HCl oximation of aldehyde derivatives first and then for the reduction of diverse nitro compounds with sodium borohydride (NaBH4) to the corresponding amines under green conditions. The catalytic efficiency of magnetic CoFe2O4@AA-M (Co, V) nanocatalysts was investigated in production of different aldoximes and amines with high turnover numbers (TON) and turnover frequencies (TOF) through oximation and reduction reactions respectively. Furthermore, the developed environment-friendly method offers a number of advantages such as high turnover frequency, mild reaction conditions, high activity, simple procedure, low cost and easy isolation of the products from the reaction mixture by an external magnetic field and the catalyst can be reused for several consecutive runs without any remarkable decrease in catalytic efficiency. Heterogeneous catalysts were prepared by the anchoring of cobalt and vanadium on the surface of CoFe2O4 coated with ascorbic acid.![]()

Abstract
The special ability of organometallic complexes to catalyze various transformations might offer new effective mechanisms for the treatment of cancer. Studies that report both the biological properties and the ability of metallic complexes to promote therapeutically relevant catalytic reactions are limited. Herein, we report the anticancer activity and catalytic potential of some ruthenium(II)-arene complexes bearing bidentate Schiff base ligands (2a and 2b) and their reduced analogues (5a and 5b, respectively). In comparison to their Schiff base counterparts 2a and 2b, we demonstrate that amine complexes 5a and 5b display (i) a higher in vitro antiproliferative activity on different human cancer cell lines, (ii) a lower rate of hydrolysis, and (iii) an improved initial catalytic rate for the reduction of NAD+ to NADH. In contrast to their imine analogues 2a and 2b, we also show that amine complexes 5a and 5b induce the generation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in MCF-7 breast cancer cells. Our results highlight the impact that a simple ligand modification such as the reduction of an imine moiety can have on both the catalytic and biological activities of metal complexes. Moreover, the ruthenium complexes reported here display some antiproliferative activity against T47D breast cancer cells, known for their cis-platin resistance.
