Abstract
A family of aluminium complexes supported by mono-anionic indolyl-phenolate ligands are described. Reactions of indolyl-phenolate based ligand precursors, IndHPhROH, with 1.0 or 0.5 equivalents of AlMe2Cl in toluene afforded aluminium indolyl-phenolate complexes 1-4 and aluminium bis-indolyl-phenolate complexes 5-8 respectively. The molecular structure is reported for 5. Based on the NMR spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic studies, a 1,3-hydrogen shift could happen from nitrogen to carbon on the five-membered ring of the indolyl group upon reacting with aluminium reagents. These novel aluminium complexes demonstrate catalytic activities toward the ring-opening polymerization of cyclic esters in the presence of alcohol.

Abstract
Biodegradable polyesters such as poly(ϵ-caprolactone) (PCL) and poly(lactic acid) (PLA) have been considered for use in several areas, such as drug delivery devices, sutures, tissue engineering, and GBR membranes, due to its bio-renewability, biodegradability, and biocompatibility. Several synthetic techniques for the preparation of polyesters have been reported in the literature, amongst which the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of cyclic esters is the most efficient. A convenient approach to access iso-selective PLAs is polymerization of racemic lactide (rac-LA), which shows excellent stereoregularity without the need for costly chiral auxiliaries or ligands. In this personal account, we review a series of methods that have been practiced to the synthesis of biodegradable polyesters from various cyclic monomers using alkali and alkaline earth metal complexes as efficient catalysts.

New zinc complexes derived from "self-adaptable" acyclic diiminodipyrromethanes as potent catalysts for the reduction of curing temperature of bisphenol-A/F benzoxazines. RSC Adv 2020; 10:36275-36286. Abstract
The simple modification of the Schiff-base ligands often brings significant changes in the coordination properties of the metal-complexes, providing newer prospects for their unexplored applications. In this context, the present work utilized the “self-adaptable” acyclic diiminodipyrromethane Schiff's bases (2a and 2b) for the synthesis of their Zn-based complexes and explored their potential in the ring-opening polymerization of benzoxazines. The two zinc complexes of composition [Zn{(Ph)(CH3)C(2,6-iPr2C6H3–N
Created by potrace 1.16, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2019
]]>
CH–C4H2N)(2,6-iPr2C6H3–NCH–C4H2NH)}2] (3) and [ZnCl2{(Ph)(CH3)C(Ph3C–NHCH–C4H2N)2}] (4) were synthesized in good yields, and the structures were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). Later, zinc complexes (3 & 4) were used as catalysts to reduce the curing (ring-opening polymerization) temperature of benzoxazine monomers such as Bisphenol-A (BA-a) and Bisphenol-F (BF-a) benzoxazines. Dynamic scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies revealed that the on-set curing (Tp) temperatures were reasonably decreased upto 20% for the benzoxazines. Furthermore, the thermal stabilities of the polybenzoxazines (PBzs) derived in the presence of zinc catalysts (3 and 4) were compared with PBz obtained in the absence of catalyst under similar conditions. The thermal studies reveled that there is no significant changes in the initial degradation of polymers. However, the thermal stability in terms of char yields at 800 °C improved upto 10–21% for the bisphenol-A/F benzoxazines. The present work utilized the “self-adaptable” acyclic diiminodipyrromethane Schiff's bases (2a and 2b) for the synthesis of their Zn-based complexes and explored their potential in the ring-opening polymerization of BA-a and BF-a benzoxazines.![]()

Abstract
Bidentate pyrrolyl ligands, 2-(t-butyliminomethyl)pyrrole and 2-(t-butylaminomethyl)pyrrole, reacted with KH to give complexes [C4H3N(2-CH[double bond, length as m-dash]NtBu)K(THF)]n (1) and [C4H3N(2-CH2NHtBu)K]n (2), respectively. Each has been characterized by C, H and N microanalysis, NMR spectroscopy, and single crystal X-ray structural analysis. The X-ray structure of complex 1 (n≥ 1) demonstrated that it exists as a 1D zig-zag coordination polymer in the solid state. Conversely, the structure of complex 2 (n≥ 1) showed that it is a 2D supramolecular network. They proved to be an effective class of catalysts for cyclotrimerization of isocyanate in excellent yield under mild conditions.

Abstract
2-Iminopyrroles [HtBu L, 4-tert-butyl phenyl(pyrrol-2-ylmethylene)amine] are non-fluorescent π systems. However, they display blue fluorescence after deprotonation with alkali metal bases in the solid state and in solution at room temperature. In the solid state, the alkali metal 2-imino pyrrolates, M(tBu L), aggregate to dimers, [M(tBu L)(NCR)]2 (M=Li, R=CH3 , CH(CH3 )CNH2 ), or polymers, [M(tBu L)]n (M=Na, K). In solution (solv=CH3 CN, DMSO, THF, and toluene), solvated, uncharged monomeric species M(tBu L)(solv)m with N,N'-chelated alkali metal ions are present. Due to the electron-rich pyrrolate and the electron-poor arylimino moiety, the M(tBu L) chromophore possesses a low-energy intraligand charge-transfer (ILCT) excited state. The chelated alkali cations rigidify the chromophore, restricting intramolecular motions (RIM) by the chelation-enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) effect in solution and, consequently, switch-on a blue fluorescence emission.

Abstract
We report here reactions between the N-adamantyliminopyrolyl ligand 2-(AdN[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)-C4H3NH (L-H) and alkali metal hexamethyldisilazides [MN(SiMe3)2] (M = Li, Na and K) to afford the dimeric [{2-(AdN[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)-C4H3NLi(THF)}2] (1), [{2-(AdN[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)-C4H3N}{Na(THF)1.5}2] (2) and polymeric [{2-(AdN[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)-C4H3NK(THF)}n] (3) complexes at ambient temperature. A one-pot reaction between L-H, [KN(SiMe3)2] and alkaline earth metal diiodide (AeI2) in a 2 : 2 : 1 molar ratio, which resulted in the formation of a heteroleptic Ae metal complex [κ2-{2-(AdN[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)-C4H3N}2Ae(THF)2] [Ae = Mg (4), Ca (5)], is also reported. The solid-state structures of complexes 1, 3 and 4 were established through single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The alkali and alkaline earth metal complexes 1-5 were utilised as precatalysts for the catalytic hydroboration of pinacolborane (HBpin) with aldehydes and ketones, and potassium complex 3 was identified as a competent catalyst under mild conditions. Additionally, cyanosilylation of carbonyl compounds was explored with trimethylsilyl cyanide and aldehydes/ketones, using the alkali metal precatalyst 3 under mild conditions. In both catalytic processes, the potassium catalyst 3 exhibited high tolerance towards a number of functional groups.

Abstract
Alkali metal salts of {(CHPh2)2-pyr} and {(CPh3)2-pyr} were prepared and in the molecular structures of these complexes a nuclearity shift from the dimer to monomer were observed due to the substitutions of CHPh2 to CPh3 groups in imine nitrogen of the ligand.
