Abstract
Hexaconazole is a widely used and frequently detected fungicide which is also reported to be persistent in environment. The toxicity of Hex to non-organisms such as reproductive toxicity, endocrine disrupting toxicity, and carcinogenic toxicity had been reported. However, study on the Hex-induced neurotoxicity is rare and the mechanism is still unclear. Therefore, in this study, environmental related concentrations of Hex were chosen to investigate the effects of Hex on nervous system from the aspect of biological rhythm under 90 d sub-chronic exposure. The results showed that Hex significantly affected the cognitive function of rats resulting in the deterioration of learning and memory ability and induced oxidative stress in rat brain. Moreover, the notable changes of neurotransmitters in rat brain suggested the disorder of nerve signaling conduction induced by Hex. The influence of Hex on biological rhythm was further detected which showed that levels of rhythm regulatory genes and proteins significantly disturbed at four monitored time periods. Based on these results, it was supposed that the underlying mechanism of Hex-induced cognitive dysfunction might through oxidative stress pathway. Our findings could systematically and comprehensively clarify the effects of Hex on nervous system and were helpful for prevention neurological diseases induced by triazole pesticides.

Abstract
Given China's prohibition on the utilization of antibiotics as feed additives in 2020, we aim to investigate nutrition additives that are both efficient and safe. Lactobacillus, a well-recognized beneficial probiotic, has explicitly been investigated for its effects on health status of the host and overall impact on food industry. To evaluate effects of Lactobacillus plantarum (LW) supplementation on broiler chicken, we conducted comprehensive multi-omics analysis, growth performance evaluation, RT-qPCR analysis, and immunofluorescence. The findings revealed that LW supplementation resulted in a substantial progress in growth performance (approximately 205 g increase in final body weight in comparison to the control group (p < 0.01)). Additionally, LW exhibited promising potential for enhancing antioxidant properties of serum and promoting gut integrity and growth as evidenced by improved antioxidant indices (p < 0.01), intestinal villus morphology (p < 0.01), and enhanced gut barrier function (p < 0.01). Meanwhile, the multi-omics analysis, including 16S rRNA sequencing and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, revealed an enrichment of beneficial microbes in the gut of broilers that were supplemented with LW, while simultaneously depleting harmful microorganisms. Moreover, a noteworthy modification was observed in gut metabolic profiling subsequent to the execution of the probiotic strategy. Specifically, variations were noticed in the levels of metabolites and metabolic pathways such as parathyroid hormone synthesis, inflammatory mediator regulation of TRP channels, oxidative phosphorylation, and mineral absorption. Taken together, our findings validate that LW administration produces valuable effects on the health and growth performance of broilers owing to its capability to boost the gut microbiota homeostasis and intestinal metabolism. Present findings signify the potential of LW as a dietary additive to promote growth and development in broiler chickens.

Abstract
Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is a sulfated linear polysaccharide with different functional activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, lipid-lowering, and immune regulation. As natural sulfated polysaccharides have high molecular weight, high apparent viscosity, low water solubility, complex structure, and high negative charge, they have difficulty binding to receptors within cells across tissue barriers, resulting in low bioavailability and unclear structure-activity relationships. In this study, an H2O2-Vc oxidative degradation system was employed to perform environmentally friendly and controllable degradation of CS extracted from the nasal cartilage of Shaanxi Yellow cattle. Two low-molecular-weight chondroitin sulfates (LMWCSs), CS-1 (14.8 kDa) and CS-2 (50.9 kDa), that exhibit strong in vitro free radical scavenging ability were obtained, and their structures were characterized. Mice intraperitoneally administered lipopolysaccharide (LPS) were used to explore the cognitive intervention effects of LMWCS. Supplementing CS-1 and CS-2 significantly downregulated the levels of the serum inflammatory factors, TNF-α and IL-1β, promoted the expression of GSH in the brain, and inhibited the production of the lipid peroxidation product, malondialdehyde (MDA), ultimately inhibiting LPS-induced cognitive impairment in mice. Surprisingly, compared to the LPS model group, the abundances of Streptococcus, Eisenbergiella, Vampirovibrio, Coprococcus, Enterococcus and Lachnoanaerobaculum were significantly increased in the intestines of mice in the CS-1 and CS-2 group, whereas those of Parabacteroides and Mycoplasma were significantly decreased. Altogether, this study provides a theoretical basis for the comprehensive utilization of agricultural and animal resources and the application of brain nutrition, anti-inflammatory, and LMWCS health products.

Abstract
Sinomenine (SIN), an alkaloid extracted from the Chinese herbal medicine Sinomenium acutum, has great potential in anti-inflammatory, immune regulation, analgesic and sedative, and is already a clinical drug for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in China. Our previous studies show SIN inhibits inflammation by regulating ɑ7nAChR, a key receptor of cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway (CAP), which plays an important role in regulating peripheral and central nervous system inflammation. Growing evidence supports the cholinergic dysregulation and inflammatory responses play the key role in the pathogenesis of AD. The intervention effects of SIN on AD by regulating CAP and homeostasis in brain and gut were analyzed for the first time in the present study using scopolamine-induced AD model mice. Behavioral tests were used to assess the cognitive performance. The neurons loss, cholinergic function, inflammation responses, biological barrier function in the mouse brain and intestinal tissues were evaluated through a variety of techniques, and the gut microbiota was detected using 16SrRNA sequencing. The results showed that SIN significantly inhibited the cognitive decline, dysregulation of cholinergic system, peripheral and central inflammation, biological barrier damage as well as intestinal flora disturbance caused by SCOP in mice. More importantly, SIN effectively regulated CAP to suppress the activation of TLR4/NF-κB and protect the homeostasis in brain and gut to alleviate cognitive impairment.
