Abstract
The coordination chemistry of multinuclear metal compounds is important because of their relevance to the multi-metal active sites of various metalloproteins and metalloenzymes. Multinuclear Cu(II) and Mn(III) compounds are of interest due to their various properties in the fields of coordination chemistry, inorganic biochemistry, catalysis, and optical and magnetic materials. Oxygen-bridged binuclear Mn(III) complexes generally exhibit antiferromagnetic interactions and a few examples of ferromagnetic interactions have also been reported. Binuclear Cu(II) complexes are important due to the fact that they provide examples of the simplest case of magnetic interaction involving only two unpaired electrons. Two novel dioxygen-bridged copper(II) and manganese(III) Schiff base complexes, namely bis(μ-4-bromo-2-{[(3-oxidopropyl)imino]methyl}phenolato)dicopper(II), [Cu2(C10H10BrNO2)2], (1), and bis(diaqua{4,4'-dichloro-2,2'-[(1,1-dimethylethane-1,2-diyl)bis(nitrilomethanylylidene)]diphenolato}manganese(III)) bis{μ-4,4'-dichloro-2,2'-[(1,1-dimethylethane-1,2-diyl)bis(nitrilomethanylylidene)]diphenolato}bis[aquamanganese(III)] tetrakis(perchlorate) ethanol disolvate, [Mn(C18H16Cl2N2O2)(H2O)2]2[Mn2(C18H16Cl2N2O2)2(H2O)2](ClO4)4·2C2H5OH, (2), have been synthesized and single-crystal X-ray diffraction has been used to analyze their crystal structures. The structure analyses of (1) and (2) show that each Cu(II) atom is four-coordinated, with long weak Cu...O interactions of 2.8631 (13) Å linking the dinuclear halves of the centrosymmetric tetranucelar molecules, while each Mn(III) atom is six-coordinated. The shortest intra- and intermolecular nonbonding Mn...Mn separations are 3.3277 (16) and 5.1763 (19) Å for (2), while the Cu...Cu separations are 3.0237 (3) and 3.4846 (3) Å for (1). The magnetic susceptibilities of (1) and (2) in the solid state were measured in the temperature range 2-300 K and reveal the presence of antiferromagnetic spin-exchange interactions between the transition metal ions.

Abstract
While the phenolic oximes (R-saoH2) are well known for producing monometallic complexes of the type [M(II)(R-saoH)2] with Cu(II) ions in near quantitative yield, their derivatisation opens the door to much more varied and interesting coordination chemistry. Here we show that combining the complimentary diethanolamine and phenolic oxime moieties into one organic framework (H4L1 and H4L2) allows for the preparation and isolation of an unusual family of [Cu(II)]n wheels, including saddle-shaped, single-stranded [Cu(II)8] wheels of general formula [Cu8(HL1)4(X)4](n)[Y] (when n = 0, X = Cl(-), NO3(-), AcO(-), N3(-); when n = 2+ X = (OAc)2/(2,2'-bpy)2 and Y = [BF4]2) and [Cu8(HL2)4(X)4] (X = Cl(-), Br(-)), a rectangular [Cu6(HL1)4] wheel, and a heterometallic [Cu4Na2(HL1)2(H2L1)2] hexagon. Magnetic studies show very strong antiferromagnetic exchange between neighbouring metal ions, leading to diamagnetic ground states in all cases. DFT studies reveal that the magnitude of the exchange constants are correlated to the Cu-N-O-Cu dihedral angles, which in turn are correlated to the planarity/puckering of the [Cu(II)]n rings.

Abstract
In ethanol, the reaction of 2-(methylthio)-4-(pyridin-2-yl)pyrimidine) with Cu(NO3)2 (2-MTPP) yielded a mononuclear Cu(II) coordination compound [(C10H9N3S)2CuNO3]NO3.H2O. In contrast, a discrete bis-methoxo-bridged binuclear Cu(II) coordination compound resulted when ethanol was substituted by methanol. [(C10 H9 N3S)2CuNO3]NO3.H2O and [(C10 H9 N3S)(CH3O) CuNO3]2 have been structurally investigated by single crystal X-ray diffraction. In [(C10H9N3S)2CuNO3]NO3.H2O, uncoordinated nitrate anions and water guest molecules form an interesting one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded chain that is accommodated into an open rhomboidal channel constructed by [Cu(NO3)(2-MTPP)2]+ cations. In [(C10H9N3S)(CH3O)CuNO3]2, binuclear molecules are arrayed in a linear fashion via C–H…O hydrogen bonding interactions. Moreover, [(C10H9N3S)2CuNO3]NO3.H2O has a proton-conductive property with a room-temperature conductivity of 4.96×10−8 S cm−1.

Abstract
In the title coordination polymer, [Hg(NCS)(2)(C(4)H(5)N(3))], the Hg(II) atom is four-coordinated by one aromatic N atom from a 2-amino-pyrimidine ligand, one S atom from a terminal thio-cyanate ligand, and one S atom and one N atom from a bridging thio-cyanate ligand. The crystal structure features polymeric chains running along the b axis which are stabilized by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Abstract
The reactivity of the metalloligand [Pt2(micro-S)2(PPh3)4] towards a variety of copper(II)-ligand systems has been studied. Reaction of [Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4] with copper(II) halide complexes [CuCl2L](L = 2,2'-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline) gave trinuclear dicationic products [Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4CuL]2+, and the 8-hydroxyquinolinate (hq) complex [Cu(hq)2] gave [Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4Cu(hq)]+, isolated as their BPh4- or PF6- salts. Related cationic complexes with other ancillary amine ligands (1,2-diaminoethane, 1,2-diaminopropane, 1,2-diaminocyclohexane) were obtained by reactions of [Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4] with CuCl2 and the amine. In contrast, reaction of [Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4] with CuCl2 and NH3 in methanol gave the intensely blue methoxy-bridged dicopper complex [{Pt(2)(mu-S)2(PPh3)4Cu(OMe)}2]2+, isolated as its hexafluorophosphate salt. Copper beta-diketonate complexes reacted with [Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4] giving [Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4Cu(beta-diketonate)]+PF6- complexes, with the CH3COCHCOCH3(acac) and CF3COCHCO(2-thienyl)(tta) derivatives characterised by X-ray structure determinations. The local Cu(II) environment ranges from distorted square-planar to an intermediate form of square-planar and tetrahedral. The beta-diketonate derivatives show varying stability towards methanolysis, giving [{Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4Cu(OMe)}2]2+.
