Abstract
BACKGROUND Main purpose was to describe procedures and identify challenges in the implementation process of adaptive and non-adaptive MR-guided radiotherapy (MRgRT), especially new risks in workflow due to the new technique. We herein report the single center experience for the implementation of (MRgRT) and present an overview on our treatment practice. METHODS Descriptive statistics were used to summarize clinical and technical characteristics of treatment and patient characteristics including sites treated between April 2019 and end of March 2020 after ethical approval. A risk analysis was performed to identify risks of the online adaptive workflow. RESULTS A summary of the processes on the MR-Linac including workflows, quality assurance and possible pitfalls is presented. 111 patients with 124 courses were treated during the first year of MR-guided radiotherapy. The most commonly treated site was the abdomen (42% of all treatment courses). 73% of the courses were daily online adapted and a high number of treatment courses (75%) were treated with stereotactic body irradiation. Only 4/382 fractions could not be treated due to a failing online adaptive quality assurance. In the risk analysis for errors, the two risks with the highest risk priority number were both in the contouring category, making it the most critical step in the workflow. CONCLUSION Although challenging, establishment of MRgRT as a routinely used technique at our department was successful for all sites and daily o-ART was feasible from the first day on. However, ongoing research and reports will have to inform us on the optimal indications for MRgRT because careful patient selection is necessary as it continues to be a time-consuming treatment technique with restricted availability. After risk analysis, the most critical workflow category was the contouring process, which resembles the need of experienced staff and safety check paths.

Abstract
Background The SwiftScan solution (General Electric Healthcare) combines a new low-energy high-resolution sensitivity collimator and a tomographic step-and-shoot continuous (SSC) mode acquisition. The purpose of this study is to determine whether SSC mode can be used in clinical practice with shorter examination times, while preserving image quality and ensuring accurate semi-quantification. Twenty bone scan and 10 lung scan studies were randomly selected over a period of 2 months. Three sets of image datasets were produced: step-and-shoot (SS) acquisition, simulated 25% count reduction using the Poisson resampling method (SimSS), and SimSS continuous acquisition (SimSSC), where SimSS was summed with counts acquired during detector head rotation. Visual assessment (5-point Likert scale, 2 readers) and semi-quantitative evaluation (50 focal uptake from 10 bone studies), assessed by SUVmean, coefficient of variation (COV), and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), were performed using t test and Bland-Altman analysis. Results Intra-reader agreement was substantial for reader 1 (k = 0.71) and for reader 2 (k = 0.61). Inter-reader agreement was substantial for SS set (k = 0.93) and moderate for SimSSC (k = 0.52). Bland-Altman analysis showed a good interchangeability of SS and SimSSC SUV values. The mean CNR between SS and SimSSC was not significantly different: 42.9 ± 43.7 [23.7–62.1] vs. 43.1 ± 46 [22.9–63.3] (p = 0.46), respectively. COV values, assessing noise level, did not deviate significantly between SS and SimSSC: 0.20 ± 0.08 [0.18–0.23] vs. 0.21 ± 0.08, [0.18–0.23] (p = 0.15), respectively, whereas a significant difference was demonstrated between SS and SimSS: 0.20 ± 0.08 [0.18–0.23] vs. 0.23 ± 0.09 [0.20–0.25] (p < 0.0001), respectively. Conclusions SSC mode acquisition decreases examination time by approximately 25% in bone and lung SPECT/CT studies compared to SS mode (~ 2 min per single-bed SPECT), without compromising image quality and signal quantification. This SPECT sensitivity improvement also offers the prospect of more comfortable exams, with less motion artifacts, especially in painful or dyspneic patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Our objective was to establish the primary mode of imaging and MR protocols utilised in the preoperative staging of deeply infiltrating endometriosis in centres accredited by the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE). METHODS The lead consultant radiologist in each centre was invited to complete an online survey detailing their protocols. RESULTS Out of 49 centres, 32 (65%) responded to the survey. Two centres performed transvaginal ultrasound as the primary method for preoperative staging of deeply infiltrating endometriosis and the remainder performed MRI. 21/25 centres did not recommend a period of fasting prior to MRI and 22/25 administered hyoscine butylbromide. None of the centres routinely offered bowel preparation or recommended a specific pre-procedure diet. 21/25 centres did not time imaging according to the woman's menstrual cycle, and instructions regarding bladder filling were varied. Rectal and vaginal opacification methods were infrequently utilised. All centres preferentially performed MRI in the supine position - six used an abdominal strap and four could facilitate prone imaging. Just under half of centres used pelvic-phased array coils and three centres used gadolinium contrast agents routinely. All centres performed T1W with fat-suppression and T2W without fat-suppression sequences. There was significant variation relating to other MR sequences depending on the unit. CONCLUSIONS There was significant inconsistency between centres in terms of MR protocols, patient preparation and the sequences performed. Many practices were out of line with current published evidence. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE Our survey demonstrates a need for evidence-based standardisation of imaging in BSGE accredited endometriosis centres.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Medical imaging outpatients often experience inadequate information provision and report high levels of anxiety. However, no studies have assessed patients' receipt of preparatory information in this setting. OBJECTIVE To examine medical imaging outpatients' perceived receipt or non-receipt of preparatory information from health professionals and imaging department staff prior to their procedure. METHOD Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging outpatients at one Australian hospital self-completed a touchscreen computer survey assessing their perceived receipt of 33 guideline-recommended preparatory information items. RESULTS Of 317 eligible patients, 280 (88%) consented to participate. Eight percent (95% confidence interval: 5%-12%) of participants reported receiving all information items. The median number of information items not received was 18 (interquartile range: 8-25). Items most frequently endorsed as "not received" were: how to manage anxiety after (74%) and during the scan (69%). Items most commonly endorsed as "received" were: reason for referral (85%) and how to find the imaging department (74%). CONCLUSION Few medical imaging outpatients recalled receiving recommended preparatory information. Preparatory communication needs to be improved to better meet patient-centered service imperatives.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Appointment non-attendance contributes added cost to the healthcare sector through wasted resource allocations. Medical imaging departments commonly schedule appointments for most modalities; however, no study has quantified patient attendance rates in the Australian regional setting. This is despite evidence that regional, rural and remote Australians tend to demonstrate poorer health than metropolitan counterparts. This study aims to identify the factors that influence appointment non-attendance at a teaching hospital in regional Australia. METHODS Categories restricted to age, gender, indigenous status, distance from investigation site, referral source and imaging modality were collected for all appointments (N = 13,458) referred to the medical imaging department in 2015. The likelihood of each of these factors correlating with a patient not attending a scheduled appointment was calculated using the chi-squared analysis and binary logistic regression. RESULTS Gender, indigenous status as well as specific imaging modalities, referral sources and age categories were significantly associated with non-attendance. Overall, male patients were 1.57 (P < 0.001) times more likely to miss a scheduled appointment than female patients. Patients who identified as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander were 2.66 (P < 0.001) times more likely to miss a scheduled appointment than patients who did not identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. CONCLUSIONS Several key factors appear to affect medical imaging appointment non-attendance. Key factors include indigenous status, gender, image modality, referral source and age. Further improvement is required to better meet the needs of underrepresented patient demographics.
