Abstract
An overview of blockchain fundamentals and its potential benefits for sustainability is provided. The role of expertise as an intermediary on the blockchain to drive transparency and accountability is examined. This research examines the potential of blockchain technology in the field of economic management and to drive future sustainable development in emerging companies, which are referred to as hidden champions. This study addresses the need for transparent and responsive practices that promote social stability, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. The goals are to analyze economic functions, investigate the formation of appropriate economic patterns, facilitate equitable distribution, and support environmental protection efforts. The research method includes case studies and theoretical frameworks to collect relevant data. The results emphasize the importance of balancing competing interests, promoting security, and strengthening inclusive decision-making processes. This study emphasizes the intersection between economic development and environmental protection and highlights the role of sustainability criteria in guiding land use practices. The conclusion emphasizes that sustainable economic practices are critical for social, economic and environmental development, especially in emerging economies. Practical recommendations are provided to policymakers and stakeholders to improve economic governance frameworks and help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract
The mobility of economic factors across jurisdictions has led to increased fiscal competition among decentralized subnational governments. This study examines the relationship between fiscal competition and long-term investment in innovation at the local government level. Panel data analysis, encompassing expenditures, taxes, and innovation inputs from 18 municipalities over a 10-year period, is employed using fixed effects regression. The results reveal a negative correlation between fiscal competition and expenditure on innovation, indicating that intensified competition for mobile capital diverts resources away from essential long-term investments crucial for knowledge-driven growth. Even after controlling for economic and institutional factors, a one standard deviation increase in competition corresponds to an average decline of 25% in per capita innovation investment. These findings highlight the unintended trade-off resulting from heightened competition and underscore the need for policy frameworks that promote localized flexibility while curbing uncoordinated competition that undermines innovation capacity. While fiscal decentralization aims to foster competitive governance, this study provides empirical evidence that short-term expenditure incentives often displace long-term innovation objectives without sufficient coordination. The insights contribute significant empirical evidence on the concealed costs of fiscal competition for regional development. Consequently, a re-evaluation of conventional perspectives on decentralization and competition is warranted, emphasizing the importance of developing cooperative policy solutions that strike a delicate balance between decentralized decision autonomy and strategic coordination. Adopting such an approach is essential to fully leverage the advantages of competitive governance while simultaneously nurturing innovation ecosystems.

Abstract
In this paper, a land use management information system based on ArcGIS 3D modeling technology is constructed to process land use policy decisions through ArcSDE spatial data engine and Oracle relational database to realize a land use planning management information system. Using genetic algorithm in order to use for regional land use optimization allocation, the introduction of multi-intelligent body system in this algorithm will be able to enhance the optimization search ability of the algorithm and make the genetic algorithm to obtain land use planning supported. The behavior of the main body of the integrated land use planning decision maker will guide the development of the quantitative structure of land use in terms of spatial layout toward sustainability. The experimental results prove that the target is better than the other three types of scenarios under the integrated benefit model, then it is reduced by 18.67%, 15.98% and 16.61%, and the number of spatially contiguous areas is increased by 9.4%, 13.8% and 0.8%, respectively. The proposed model can reasonably configure the regional land use quantitative results and spatial layout, and coordinate the needs of different land use decision makers.

Abstract
Medical tourism leads to development of economic resources for many countries. This method of tourism has become common in most countries of the world which is one of the dimensions of tourism for development like metal industry or sport industry. The stability and dynamism of country's economy help the development of ecotourism. Furthermore, medical tourism with economic consequences can have significant environmental effects. For this purpose, this research was done to study and evaluate the factors affecting the development of medical tourism in developing countries. The approach governing this research is developmental, and the research method is descriptive and analytical. A multivariate regression test was used to analyze the hypotheses of research, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 19.0 software. The ecotourism and economic management can have a global or local roles as suitable tools for sustainable tourism. Ecotourism is often not properly oriented and mainly defined in such a way that the practitioners are far from the declared standards to achieve and succeed in the sustainability process. The current research is descriptive-explanatory which compiled using library documents. The analysis of the path of above factors shows that all factors of price, quality, facilities, and information and communication technology directly and indirectly play a significant role to enhance the medical tourism.

Abstract
In recent years, environmental consideration and notion of sustainability has gained extensive attention on global scale from political aspect to businesses and social means. It has been the core concept of development for organizations in different industries in an increasing manner. As tourists tend to be more aware regarding environment and impact of human activity on nature, it becomes more important to include sustainable measures so that firms can remain competitive in the market and attract new customers. The current research examines the relationship between sustainable marketing orientation deployed by organizations operating in tourism sector (i.e., hotels) and employees’ extra-role behavior in form of organizational citizenship behavior. Furthermore, indirect effects of employees’ socialization and involvement are examined to provide a better understanding on related factors. Gathering data from hotels of Beirut, 218 employees participated in the research and PLS-SEM yielded significant results, stating that the variables are vital for positive behavioral outcomes within the hotel industry. The results can be beneficial for scholars and practitioners in tourism sector alike.

Total Quality Management and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises’ (SMEs) Performance: Mediating Role of Innovation Speed. SUSTAINABILITY 2022. [DOI: 10.3390/su14148719] [Citation(s) in RCA: 1] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.5] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 02/05/2023]
Abstract
This study focuses on investigating the role of innovation speed in mediating the relationship between total quality management and small and medium-sized enterprise performance. Cross-sectional data from 484 Nigerian small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises were collected using judgmental sampling, which was targeted at the owners and managers of small-scale manufacturing enterprises within Nigeria. The obtained data were evaluated using both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. Hence, the heuristic model for the relationship was subjected to a string of tests using the partial least squares structural equation modeling technique. The results show that total quality management is positively related to operational performance as well as innovation speed, which has a substantial influence on the nexus between total quality management (TQM) and small and medium-sized enterprises’ (SME) performance. The study expands the understanding of innovation, regarding speed and its measures within total quality management, where the five basic dimensions of total quality management are top management quality practices, employee quality management, customer orientation, process management, and employee knowledge and training. Furthermore, the model contributes to the scarce literature on the mediating factors needed to boost the operational performance of small-scale manufacturing firms.
