Toluene levels over the Threshold Limit Value can cause irritative respiratory tract diseases. Therefore, it is recommended that workplaces are separated from domestic activities whenever possible and the workers are protected from unnecessary exposure. This study describes the level of health risks and respiratory complaints due to toluene exposure by footwear craftsmen in footwear industry.
