Abstract
The endangered Eld's deer is a conserved species in Thailand, where tropical parasitic infections are endemic. Although Eld's deer with babesiosis are generally asymptomatic, they can still harbor the parasite and serve as reservoirs for ticks, spreading the infection to healthy animals within the herd. The present study aimed to investigate potential serum proteome biomarkers of Eld's deer with subclinical Babesia bovis infection. A total of 67 blood samples were collected from captive Siamese and Burmese Eld's deer showing no signs of parasitic infection. The nested polymerase chain reaction (nPCR) of a conserved spherical body protein 2 (sbp-2) gene of B. bovis was utilized to classify Eld's deer groups, with 25.37 % (17/67) testing positive for B. bovis. Additionally, the application of proteomic studies showed that six B. bovis proteins, such as Obg-like ATPase 1 (OLA1) and heat shock protein 90 (HSP90), were significantly upregulated by more than a two-fold change compared with the PCR-negative samples. Of the 55 overexpressed serum proteins in the PCR-positives, alpha 2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG) and immunoglobulin lambda variable 2-8 (IGLV2-8) were notably among the top 10 proteins with the highest area under curve (AUC) values. Hence, they were proposed as potential biomarkers for subclinical B. bovis infection in Eld's deer. Analysis of the protein interaction network revealed interactions between Eld's deer AHSG and B. bovis OLA1 and HSP90, alongside associations with other proteins such as erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2 (ERBB2) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). These interactions were involved in the immune system pathway and inflammatory responses. Our findings shed light on subclinical infection of B. bovis in Eld's deer and identify potential biomarkers, contributing to the further effective detection and monitoring of B. bovis infection in this endangered species.

Abstract
Objectives This study aimed to investigate the possible effects of fetuin-A on an adenine-induced chronic kidney disease (CKD) model in male rats. Materials and Methods Rats were divided into three groups: group A included rats fed a normal diet; group B included rats fed a normal diet with 220 mg/kg adenine daily for 21 days; group C included rats fed a normal diet with 220 mg/kg adenine daily for 21 days and intraperitoneally administered with 5 mg\kg fetuin-A every other day for 2 weeks. Serum samples were assayed for serum creatinine, urea, sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and immunohistochemical staining was performed. Results Group B showed a significant increase in serum creatinine, urea, phosphorus, potassium, TNF, and IL-6 and a significant decrease in serum sodium, calcium, and eGFR compared with group A. Regarding immunohistochemistry, group B showed increased apoptosis. In group C, fetuin-A reduced the urea, creatinine, and phosphorus levels, and in group C, fetuin-A decreased inflammation and apoptosis by reduction of caspase-3 staining. Conclusion Fetuin-A improved kidney function in CKD due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic role.

Abstract
Irinotecan (CPT-11) and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) are commonly used to treat metastatic colorectal cancer, but chemotherapy-associated steatosis/steatohepatitis (CASSH) frequently accompanies their use. The objective of this study was to determine effect of CPT-11+5-FU on liver toxicity, liver oxylipins, and cytokines, and to explore whether these alterations could be modified by dietary eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in the form of fish oil (EPA+DHA). Tumor-bearing animals were administered CPT-11+5-FU and maintained on a control diet or a diet containing EPA+DHA (2.3 g/100 g). Livers were collected one week after chemotherapy for the analysis of oxylipins, cytokines, and markers of liver pathology (oxidized glutathione, GSSH; 4-hydroxynonenal, 4-HNE, and type-I collagen fiber). Dietary EPA+DHA prevented the chemotherapy-induced increases in liver GSSH (p < 0.011) and 4-HNE (p < 0.006). Compared with the tumor-bearing animals, ten oxylipins were altered (three/ten n-6 oxylipins were elevated while seven/ten n-3 oxylipins were reduced) following chemotherapy. Reductions in the n-3 fatty-acid-derived oxylipins that were evident following chemotherapy were restored by dietary EPA+DHA. Liver TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-10 were elevated (p < 0.05) following chemotherapy; dietary EPA+DHA reduced IL-6 (p = 0.09) and eotaxin (p = 0.007) levels. Chemotherapy-induced liver injury results in distinct alterations in oxylipins and cytokines, and dietary EPA+DHA attenuates these pathophysiological effects.

Abstract
BACKGROUND South-Asian immigrants to Western countries have a high prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and increased adipose tissue insulin resistance (AT-IR), as compared to their Western counterparts. Fetuin-A is a hepatokine known to influence AT-IR. AIM Can plasma fetuin-A concentrations explain an ethnic difference in adipose tissue insulin resistance? METHODS We performed a two-step euglycemic-hyperinsulinaemic clamp and measured plasma concentrations of fetuin-A and non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA), in 18 Pakistani and 21 Norwegians with T2DM (age 29-45y) in Norway. AT-IR was calculated as NEFA-suppression during the clamp. The adipokines/cytokines leptin, adiponectin, visfatin, PTX3, IL-1β, INF-γ, and IL-4 were measured in fasting plasma. Liver fat was estimated by CT-scans. RESULTS Despite a lower BMI, Pakistani patients displayed higher AT-IR than Norwegians. NEFA-suppression during clamp was lower in Pakistani than Norwegians (mean=-20.6%, 95%CI=[-40.8, -0.01] and p = 0.046). Plasma fetuin-A concentration was higher in Pakistani than Norwegians (43.4 ng/mL[12.7,74.0], p = 0.007) and correlated negatively to %NEFA-suppression during clamp (rho=-0.39, p = 0.039). Plasma fetuin-A concentration explained 22% of the ethnic difference in NEFA-suppression during the clamp. Pakistani patients exhibited higher plasma leptin and lower PTX3 levels than Norwegian, and plasma visfatin correlated positively to plasma fetuin-A levels in the Pakistani patients. We observed no correlation between plasma fetuin-A and liver fat, but fetuin-A correlated negatively with plasma IL-1β, INF-γ, and IL-4 concentrations. Plasma IL-4 concentration was lower in Pakistani than in Norwegian patients. CONCLUSION Fetuin-A may contribute to explain the discrepancy in T2DM prevalence between Pakistani and Norwegians patients by influencing AT-IR.

Abstract
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a multi-system endocrinopathy that affects women of reproductive age. Due to features that coincide with puberty, it frequently remains undiagnosed in adolescent females. The lack of evidence on management alternatives has resulted in significant variation in practice. This systematic review evaluated the therapeutic advantages and adverse effects of a regularly used therapy option, combined oral contraceptive pills (COC/OCP) with spironolactone (SP), a newer alternative that may be used alone or in conjunction with other drugs to treat adolescent PCOS. A literature search was conducted using PubMed, PubMed Central, Scopus, and Google Scholar. It was restricted to studies published in English between 2021 and 2011 that discussed the management of adolescent PCOS with COC, SP, or both. The systematic review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses 2020 guidelines. Two reviewers independently examined the content of the included studies using appropriate quality assessment tools. Four meta-analyses, four randomized controlled trials (RCTs), and one traditional review were found to be eligible. After extensive analysis, we concluded that SP, alone or in combination, is far safer than COC. However, COC treats more PCOS-associated symptoms than SP, including acne and menstrual irregularities, while also providing contraceptive benefits. However, SP monotherapy is cardioprotective and therapeutic when combined with other drugs. Long-term COC use has been linked to an increased risk of venous thromboembolism, hypertension, dyslipidemia, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) elevation, dysglycemia, and cancer in women.

Abstract
Fetuin-A is an acute phase glycoprotein shown to counter in a regulatory manner proinflammatory cytokine production to maintain homeostasis during inflammation. We report here that in wild-type mice 12 days after Chlamydia muridarum (Cm) intranasal challenge, fetuin-A content in the lungs decreased 46%, while INF-γ increased 44%, consistent with a negative regulatory role of fetuin-A in inflammation. Importantly, the observed increased IFN-γ production was abrogated in fetuin-A-deficient AHSG mice suggesting that IFN-γ induction following Cm infection is fetuin-A dependent. Assessment of expression of genes associated with inflammation revealed fetuin-A-dependent upregulation of TBX21 (a Th1 cell-specific transcription factor) in the lungs of Cm-infected WT mice that correlated with IFN-γ induction. Additionally, the effect of fetuin-A deficiency in mounting an adaptive immune response to Cm infection was demonstrated using a splenocyte recall assay. Although preliminary in nature, these findings are suggestive of fetuin-A involvement following Cm pulmonary infection and underscores the need to investigate further the role of fetuin-A in the immune response and the consequences of its gene deletion.

Abstract
The liver acts as a manufacturing unit for the production of fetuin-A, which is essential for various physiological characteristics. Scientific research has shown that a moderate upward push in fetuin-A serum levels is associated with a confirmed non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) diagnosis. Fetuin-A modulation is associated with a number of pathophysiological variables that cause liver problems, including insulin receptor signaling deficiencies, adipocyte dysfunction, hepatic inflammation, fibrosis, triacylglycerol production, macrophage invasion, and TLR4 activation. The focus of the present review is on the various molecular pathways, and genetic relevance of mRNA expression of fetuin-A which is correlated with progression of NAFLD. The other major area of exploration in the present review is based on the new targets for the modulation of fetuin-A, like calorie restriction and novel pharmacological agents, such as rosuvastatin, metformin, and pioglitazone which are successfully implicated in the management of various liver-related complications.

Abstract
Personalized therapies are designed to optimize the safety-to-efficacy
ratio by selecting patients with higher response rates based on
specific biomarkers. Inflammation plays a vital role in the
pathogenesis of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a common liver
disorder. Eotaxin-1 plays a role in innate and adaptive immune
responses. High eotaxin-1 levels are associated with diabetes and
fatty liver disease and, therefore, serves as a biomarker for patient
selection. The anti-eotaxin-1 monoclonal antibody is tailored for the
personalized therapy of patients with inflammatory conditions due to
high levels of eotaxin-1. To evaluate the biological activity and
immunomodulatory effect of orally administered anti-eotaxin-1. C57B1/6
mice were treated with either oral or intra-peritoneal anti-eotaxin-1
antibody before induction of immune-mediated hepatitis using an
injection of concanavalin A (ConA) and checked for liver injury and
eotaxin-1 serum levels. Oral administration of anti-eotaxin-1
alleviated the immune-mediated liver injury. Serum alanine
aminotransferase levels decreased to 1807 U/L, compared with 19025 U/L
in untreated controls and 3657 U/L in mice treated with parenteral
anti-eotaxin-1 (P < 0.005). A trend toward reduced
serum eotaxin-1 levels was observed in treated mice, ranging from 594
pg/mL in the controls to 554 and 561 pg/mL in mice treated orally and
intraperitoneally (P = 0.08, P =
0.06, respectively). Oral administration of anti-eotaxin-1 antibody
shows biological activity in the gut and exerts a systemic
immunomodulatory effect to alleviate immune-mediated hepatitis. The
data suggest that testing for eotaxin-1 serum levels may enable
screening patients with high-eotaxin-1 levels-associated NASH.

Abstract
Background A growing number of studies found inconsistent results on the role of chemokines in the progression of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and prediabetes (PDM). The purpose of this meta-analysis was to summarize the results of previous studies on the association between the chemokines system and T2DM/PDM. Methods We searched in the databases, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and Cochrane Library, for eligible studies published not later than March 1, 2020. Data extraction was performed independently by 2 reviewers, on a standardized, prepiloted form. Group differences in chemokines concentrations were summarized using the standardized mean difference (SMD) with a 95% confidence interval (CI), calculated by performing a meta-analysis using the random-effects model. Results We identified 98 relevant studies that investigated the association between 32 different chemokines and T2DM/PDM. Altogether, these studies involved 14,708 patients and 14,574 controls. Results showed that the concentrations of CCL1, CCL2, CCL4, CCL5, CCL11, CXCL8, CXCL10 and CX3CL1 in the T2DM patients were significantly higher than that in the controls, while no difference in these concentrations was found between the PDM patients and controls. Conclusion Progression of T2DM may be associated with elevated concentrations of chemokines. Meta-Analysis Registration PROSPERO, identifier CRD42019148305.

Abstract
Background Chronic inflammation plays a critical role in the development of obesity-related metabolic dysfunction. The tri-ponderal mass index (TMI) may be more effective than body mass index (BMI) for estimating body fat levels. This study compared the efficacy of BMI and TMI in screening for dyslipidemia, insulin sensitivity, and inflammation in childhood obesity. Methods This study included 80 children who were classified as normal weight, overweight or obese using standardized BMI (BMI standard deviation score [SDS]) and TMI measurements. Fasting blood glucose, insulin, homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), triglycerides, total cholesterol, liver function enzymes, leptin, serum free fatty acid (FFA), fetuin-A, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and interleukin (IL)-6 levels were evaluated using both classification systems. Results LDL-C levels significantly differed within the groups by BMI, and serum FFA levels differed only according to the TMI. Serum MCP-1, TNF-α, IL-6, and fetuin-A levels showed no difference according to the TMI or BMI SDS. Fetuin-A levels did not differ between the insulin-resistant and non-resistant cases. Fetuin-A was the only inflammatory marker positively correlated with BMI. No inflammatory markers correlated with TMI. Fetuin-A, MCP-1, TNF-α, and IL-6 correlated with each other, but not with metabolic parameters. Conclusions BMI SDS and TMI were associated with metabolic disturbances in childhood obesity. Weight versus heightn values may be related more to metabolic parameters than to inflammatory changes.

Summary
Fetuin-A is a secretory liver glycoprotein with multiple physiological functions such as regulation of insulin resistance, tissue calcification, bone metabolism, cellular proteolytic activity, and self-proliferative signaling.
Fetuin-A is a unique molecule which binds to the insulin receptor, modulating its sensitivity, and transducing “the physiological conditions” (serum levels of the metabolites like glucose, free fatty acids, inflammatory signals) from outside into inside the cells. Plasma fetuin-A levels correlate with reduced glucose tolerance and insulin resistance. Impaired insulin sensitivity leads to the development of metabolic syndrome, an increased risk for type 2 diabetes (T2DM), dyslipidaemias and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Furthermore, fetuin-A inversely correlates with inflammatory and activation biomarkers, e.g. in patients with T2DM. Thus, circulatory fetuin-A levels may have plausible predictive importance as a biomarker of risk of diabetes and negative acute phase protein. Dysregulated, it plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of some metabolic disorders and clinical inflammatory conditions like metabolic syndrome, T2DM, CVDs, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), etc.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We investigated the utility of maternal fetuin-A, N-terminal proatrial natriuretic peptide (pro-ANP), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and fasting glucose levels at 11-14 gestation weeks for predicting pregnancies complicated by gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). SUBJECTS AND METHODS This prospective cohort study included 327 low-risk pregnant women who completed antenatal follow-up at a tertiary research hospital between January and April 2014. Maternal blood samples were collected between 11-14 gestational weeks in the first trimester of pregnancy and then stored at -80 °C until further analyses. During follow-up, 29 (8.8%) women developed GDM. The study population was compared 1:2 with age- and body mass index-matched pregnant women who did not develop GDM (n = 59). Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) levels and serum fetuin-A, pro-ANP, and hs-CRP levels were measured using automated immunoassay systems. RESULTS There was a significant negative correlation between fetuin-A and hs-CRP (CC = -0.21, p = 0.047) and a positive correlation between FPG and hs-CRP (CC = 0.251, p = 0.018). The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve for diagnosing GDM were 0.337 (p = 0.013), 0.702 (p = 0.002), and 0.738 (p < 0.001) for fetuin-A, hs-CRP, and FPG, respectively. The optimal cut-off values were > 4.65, < 166, and > 88.5 mg/dL for maternal hs-CRP, fetuin-A, and FPG, respectively. CONCLUSION Reduced fetuin-A, elevated hs-CRP, and FPG levels in women in the first trimester can be used for the early detection of GDM. Further research is needed before accepting these biomarkers as valid screening tests for GDM.

Abstract
Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) progresses from steatosis to alcoholic hepatitis to fibrosis and cirrhosis. Liver biopsy is considered as the gold standard method for diagnosis of liver cirrhosis and provides useful information about damaging process which is an invasive procedure with complications. Existing biomarkers in clinical practice have narrow applicability due to lack of specificity and lack of sensitivity. The objective of this article is to identify proteomic biomarker candidates for alcoholic liver cirrhosis by differential expression analysis between alcoholic liver cirrhotic and healthy subjects. Blood samples were collected from 20 subjects (10 alcoholic liver cirrhosis and 10 healthy) from R. L. Jalapa Hospital and Research Centre, Kolar, Karnataka, India. Differential protein analysis was carried out by two-dimensional electrophoresis after albumin depletion, followed by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry. The image analysis found 46 spots in cirrhotic gel and 69 spots in healthy gel, of which 14 spots were identified with significant altered expression levels. Based on the protein score and clinical significance, among 14 spots, a total of 28 protein biomarker candidates were identified: 13 with increased expression and 15 with decreased expression were categorized in alcoholic liver cirrhosis compared to healthy subjects. Protein biomarker candidates identified by “-omics” approach based on differential expression between alcoholic liver cirrhotic subjects and healthy subjects may give better insights for diagnosis of ALD. Prioritization of candidates identified is a prerequisite for validation regimen. Biomarker candidates require verification that demonstrates the differential expression will remain detectable by assay to be used for validation.

Abstract
Summary
Fetuin-A is a major plasma glycoprotein released mainly by the liver. Its functions include inhibition of the activity of insulin receptor, regulation of response to inflammation, inhibition of calcified matrix metabolism and ectopic mineralization, etc. Three major functional domains of fetuin-A have been identified: one similar to the Ca-binding domains, one inhibiting cysteine protease, and a domain with high affinity to insulin receptor. The fetuin-A molecule may be considered as a highly pleomorphic protein with an important impact in a variety of clinically expressed metabolic and pathological processes. It could be used as a marker in clinical practice in the future.

Abstract
Changes in the protein expression occurring within the initiation phase of acute pancreatitis (AP) might be vital in the development of this complex disease. However, the exact mechanisms involved in the onset of AP remains elusive and most of our knowledge about the pathobiology of AP comes from animal models. We performed in a rat pancreatitic model a high-throughput shotgun proteomic profiling of the soluble and whole membrane fractions from the pancreas during the early phase of cerulein (Cer)-induced AP. We identified 997 proteins, of which 353 were significantly different (22, 276 or 55 in both, the soluble or the membrane fractions, respectively). Gene Ontology and KEGG PATHWAY analyses revealed that these proteins were implicated in molecular mechanisms relevant to AP pathogenesis, including vesicle-mediated and protein transport, lysosomal and mitochondrial impairment or proteolysis. Numerous metabolic processes were downregulated apparently to reduce energy consumption, and a remarkable increase in inflammatory and stress responses was also highlighted. The proteomic data were verified by immunoblotting of 11 and 7 different soluble or membrane-associated proteins, either novel (VPS29 and MCTS1) or known factors in AP. Also, our first observation of the imbalance of some COP proteins during AP early phase deserves further characterization. BIOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE AP is one of the most important pathological inflammatory states of the exocrine pancreas but its pathophysiology remains incompletely understood, especially the early acinar events. Proteomic analysis of pancreatic subcellular fractions simplifies protein maps and helps in the identification of new protein alterations and biomarkers characterizing pancreatic tissue damage. Our shotgun approach has not been previously used to profile the early proteomic alterations of the disease, which are considered crucial for its development and for the founding of clinical procedures. Furthermore, our subcellular fractionation protocol allowed us to detect changes in membrane proteins so far overlooked in the proteomic study of AP. Accordingly, using TMT proteomics and bioinformatic tools, we were able to detect significant changes in protein expression related to many pathobiological pathways of acute pancreatitis as from the early phase of the disease. To our knowledge, some of these changes, such as the imbalance of some COP proteins, have never been described in this disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Fetuin-A is a glycoprotein produced in the liver and related to metabolic syndrome; fetuin-A secretion is divergently regulated in different pathological conditions. In girls with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), insulin sensitization results in a more favorable endocrine-metabolic outcome than oral contraception; we assessed whether those differences are underscored by changes in circulating fetuin-A. METHODS Fetuin-A concentration endocrine-metabolic markers and hepatovisceral fat were measured longitudinally in 35 PCOS girls [age, 16 yr; body mass index (BMI), 23 kg/m2] randomized to receive either oral contraception [ethinylestradiol-levonorgestrel (n = 18)] or a low-dose combination of spironolactone, pioglitazone, and metformin (SPIOMET, n = 17) over 12 months. Healthy adolescent girls (age- and BMI-matched) were used as controls (n = 25). RESULTS Pretreatment fetuin-A serum levels in PCOS girls were lower than those in controls. After 12 months on treatment, fetuin-A raised to control levels only in the SPIOMET subgroup (P = 0.009, versus oral contraception); this increase was paralleled by a healthier metabolic profile with less hepatic fat (by MRI); baseline serum fetuin-A as well as the changes over 12 months was inversely related to hepatic adiposity. CONCLUSIONS A low-dose combination of insulin sensitizers and an antiandrogen-but not oral contraception-normalizes fetuin-A levels in adolescent girls with PCOS. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Fetuin-A is a liver-derived circulating protein that is associated with insulin resistance and diabetes. The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis of published observational studies was to investigate mean levels of fetuin-A in T2D patients and the relationship between blood fetuin-A levels and T2D risk. MATERIALS AND METHODS PubMed, Embase, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and The Cochrane Library were systematically searched for potential relevant studies up to 1 December 2016. Natural logarithm-transformed estimate risks, standard mean differences on the basis of Hedges's adjusted g, and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated for all eligible studies and were combined to measure the pooled data using random-effects model. RESULTS A total of 32 studies including 27 case-control and 5 cohort studies were included in the current study. Fetuin-A levels in T2D patients were significantly higher than control groups [Hedges' g = 1.73, 95% CI (1.25-2.22), P < 0.001], with significant heterogeneity across studies (P < 0.001, I 2 = 98.46%). Findings from meta-analyses of cohort studies showed a statistically significant association between fetuin-A levels and T2D risk [rate ratio = 1.62, 95% CI (1.26-2.08), P < 0.001], with no significant heterogeneity (P = 0.10, I 2 = 46.06%). CONCLUSION We found a significant relationship between the fetuin-A levels with T2D risk. Although fetuin-A may be as a potential screening and prediction biomarker or a therapeutic target in T2D patients, further studies are required in this regard.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Fetuin-A has been described to correlate inversely with vascular calcification both in animal models but also in patients with heart and renal disease. In this current study, we sought to investigate whether fetuin-A might be a useful marker for the discrimination of ischemic (ICM) from dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). METHODS A total of 124 non-consecutive patients were included in this study, 59 patients suffered from ICM and 65 patients from DCM. Serum samples were obtained during out-patient visits and analyzed for fetuin-A by ELISA. RESULTS Median fetuin-A concentration in the overall cohort was significantly lower in ICM patients compared to DCM patients (62.2±16.4 μg/mL vs. 129.6±56.6 μg/mL; P<.001). A positive correlation of fetuin-A levels was found with BMI, cholesterol, LDL/HDL ratio and triglycerides and an inverse correlation with age (r=-.36; P<.001). Moreover, patients suffering from (stable) angina pectoris evidenced lower fetuin-A levels compared to non-symptomatic patients (73.1±22.7 μg/mL vs. 83.7±26.2 μg/mL; P=.047) CONCLUSIONS: Fetuin-A was shown to be a potential discriminator and biomarker for the differential diagnosis between ICM and DCM. Fetuin-A levels might also be helpful in the process of diagnostic decision-making in regards to invasive management or medical therapy.
