Abstract
Introduction Endometriosis is delineated as a benign yet steroid-dependent disorder characterized by the ectopic presence of endometrial glandular and stromal cells outside the uterine cavity, affecting estimated 10%-15% of women of reproductive age, 20%-50% of all women with infertility and costing a great economic burden per-patient. Endometriosis exerts pervasive influence on multiple facets of female reproductive physiology. Given its characterization as a chronic inflammatory disorder, escalated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines were unequivocally recognized as well-established characteristics of endometriosis, which might attribute to mechanisms like retrograde menstruation, progesterone receptor resistance, and immune dysregulation. Therapeutic utilization of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin, analgesic agent for reducing pain, inflammation, and fever, could be holding promise in augmenting reproductive outcomes of endometriosis women. Therefore, the objective of this comprehensive review is to elucidate the intricate interplay between endometriosis and aspirin, both within the context of infertility and beyond. We meticulously explore potential pharmacological agents targeting endometriosis, which may concurrently optimize the efficacy of reproductive interventions, while also delving into the underlying mechanistic pathways linking endometriosis with inflammatory processes. Methods We conducted a comprehensive search in the data available in PubMed and the Web of Science using the terms 'endometriosis' and 'aspirin'. Then analyzed the identified articles based on established inclusion and exclusion criteria independently by three reviewers. Results The survey of the chosen terms revealed 72 articles, only 10 of which were considered for review. Discussion Based on the research available currently, it is not substantial enough to address the conclusion that aspirin shall be an effective therapeutic choice for endometriosis, further studies are needed to elucidate the efficacy, safety profile, and optimal dosing regimens of aspirin in the context of endometriosis treatment.

Abstract
Lactoferrin (LCF), a potent naturally occurring antioxidant, is a crucial component in preventing potassium dichromate (PDC) toxicity. The goal of the current work was to study the potential efficacy of LCF in preventing PDC(CrVI)-induced testicular toxicity and oxidative injury in rats. Six groups of male rats of Wistar stain were randomly categorized into: group 1, which served as the control; group 2 and 3 received LCF (200 and 300 mg/kg orally, respectively); group 4 received PDC (2 mg/kg i.p.); group 5 and 6 pretreated with LCF, followed by PDC as in group 4 with 90 min apart for 28 days. PDC-intoxicated rats showed a significantly altered spermogram with abnormal sperm morphology. PDC significantly upregulated serum FSH and downregulated testosterone levels. Additionally, PDC decreased the levels of testicular key antioxidant biomarkers (catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione (GSH)) with elevated lipid peroxidation marker (TBARS) and testicular chromium content. Moreover, it upregulated testicular proinflammatory cytokines, IL-1, IL-6, IL-10, and TNF-α, induced histopathological changes in testes with significant immunohistochemical expression of FasL and moderate expression of Nrf2. Pretreatment with LCF significantly mitigated PDC-induced testicular toxicity by enhancing spermogram, improving hormonal levels, restoring testicular oxidant/antioxidant balance, and decreasing testicular IL-1, IL6, IL-10, and TNFα levels, and amending both FasL and Nrf2 immunohistochemical-expression. Additionally, LCF improved testicular histopathological picture and spermatogenesis. Our results highlight the importance of LCF as a superior protective modulator of PDC-induced testicular injury.

Abstract
BACKGROUND No study has compared pharmacologic properties of ticagrelor and clopidogrel in non-dialysis patients with stage 4-5 chronic kidney disease (CKD). METHODS We conducted a double-blind RCT to compare effects of ticagrelor and clopidogrel in 48 CKD, with the primary outcome of ADP-induced platelet aggregation (WBPA) after 2 weeks of DAPT. In a parallel arm, we compared effects of 2 weeks of ticagrelor plus aspirin on mean changes in WBPA and markers of thromboinflammation among non-CKD controls (n = 26) with that of CKD in the ticagrelor-arm. RESULTS Average age of CKD was 53.7 years, with 62% women, 54% African American, and 42% with stage 5 CKD. Ticagrelor generated statistically lower WBPA values post treatment [median 0 Ω (IQR 0, 2)] vs. clopidogrel [median 0 Ω (IQR 0, 5)] (P = 0.002); percent inhibition of WBPA was greater (87 ± 22% vs. 63 ± 50%; P = 0.04; and plasma IL-6 levels were much lower (8.42 ± 1.73 pg/ml vs. 18.48 ± 26.56 pg/ml; P = 0.04). No differences in mean changes in WBPA between CKD-ticagrelor and control groups were observed. Ticagrelor- DAPT reduced levels of IL-1α and IL-1β in CKD-ticagrelor and control groups, attenuated lowering of TNFα and TRAIL levels in CKD-ticagrelor (vs controls), and had global changes in correlation between various cytokines in a subgroup of CKD-ticagrelor subjects not on statins (n = 10). Peak/trough levels of ticagrelor/metabolite were not different between CKD-ticagrelor and control groups. CONCLUSIONS We report significant differences in platelet aggregation and anti-inflammatory properties between ticagrelor- and clopidogrel-based DAPT in non-dialysis people with stage 4-5 CKD. These notable inflammatory responses suggest ticagrelor-based DAPT might lower inflammatory burden of asymptomatic patients with stage 4 or 5 CKD. (clinicaltrials.gov # NCT03649711).

Abstract
According to the official statistics of the World Health Organization, at least 48 million couples and 186 million people suffer from infertility. Varicocele has been recognized as the leading cause of male infertility and can affect spermatogenesis and cause testicular and epididymal disorders through multiple diverse pathophysiological processes. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by oxidative stress have been reconciled as an important pathogenic factor throughout the course of varicocele. Testis respond to heat stress, hypoxia, and inflammation at the cost of producing excessive ROS. High levels of ROS can lead to infertility not only through lipid peroxidation or DNA damage, but also by inactivating enzymes and proteins in spermatogenesis. This review studies the oxidative stress and its role in the pathophysiology and molecular biology of varicocele in the context of a decline in fertility.

Abstract
In this study, we aimed to identify whether using statins may increase the chance of pregnancy in In Vitro Fertilisation / Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (IVF/ICSI) patients with hyperlipidaemia. Therefore, in this retrospective cohort study, 70 patients constituted the study population and all patients were managed by lipid lowering diet. Ten mg pravastatin (pravachol DEVA, Istanbul, Turkey) was added to therapy in case of resistant hypercholesterolaemia after 15 days of the diet. Fifty-one patients were treated with diet only and the remaining nineteen patients were offered both diet and pravastatin. Clinical pregnancy rate was significantly better with the patients who used pravastatin (68.4% vs. 39.2%, p = .029). Ongoing pregnancy rates were 63.2% and 33.3% with pravastatin and diet only, respectively, which were statistically significant (p:.024). According to multivariate analysis, pravastatin use was found independently and statistically significant for clinical pregnancy and ongoing pregnancy rate after IVF/ICSI in patients with dyslipidemia (HR 3.79; 95% CI 1.31-10.97; p:.014 and HR 3.18; 95% CI 1.22-8.27; p:.018). When we analysed stratified data according to the AMH levels, we noticed that as AMH levels increased, the pregnancy rates increased; the most benefit from pravastatin was in the group with AMH levels >2 ng/mL.IMPACT STATEMENTWhat is already known on this subject? Dyslipidemia in In IVF/ICSI patients with polycystic ovary syndrome had negative impact on pregnancy ratesWhat the results of this study add? The findings of the study support that pravastatin may help to improve pregnancy outcome, especially in normal and high responders, regardless of whether decreased serum LDL or total cholesterol level.What the implications are of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? As a result of our data, we speculated that it should be routine to investigate the lipid profile in every IVF/ICSI patient and should be treated accordingly, if necessary.

Abstract
3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitors are commonly used drugs in the management of elevated lipid levels and cardiovascular disease. In cardiovascular diseases, among other common chronic conditions, inflammatory biomarkers are used to monitor disease progression and the risk of recurrent adverse events. We explored whether or not there was a positive effect on these biomarkers using HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. The systematic review was conducted by gathering relevant papers mainly from three databases, identified through a generated Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) strategy. Identification of papers was subsequently followed by applying a selected inclusion and exclusion criteria to narrow the papers chosen for review. Post the application of stipulated criteria, 12 papers remained. They were subsequently assessed for risk of bias using a Cochrane risk analysis tool, identifying most as having some concerns of bias or low risk of bias. We found that HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors exhibit both a lipid-lowering effect addition to an anti-inflammatory effect.
