Abstract
In recent years, diabetes technologies have revolutionized the care of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Emerging evidence suggests that people with type 2 diabetes (T2D) can experience similar benefits from these advances in technology. While glycaemic outcomes are often a primary focus, the lived experience of the person with diabetes is equally important. In this review, we describe the impact of diabetes technologies on patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). We highlight that most of the published studies investigated PROMs as secondary outcomes. Continuous glucose monitoring systems may have an important role in improving PROMs in individuals with T1D, which may be driven by the prevention or proactive management of hypoglycaemia. In people with T2D, continuous glucose monitoring may also have an important role in improving PROMs, particularly in those treated with insulin therapy. The impact of insulin pumps on PROMs seems positive in T1D, while there is limited evidence in T2D. Studies of hybrid closed-loop therapies suggest increased treatment satisfaction, improved quality of life and decreased diabetes-related distress in T1D, but it is unclear whether these benefits are because of a 'class-effect' or individual systems. We conclude that PROMs deserve a more central role in trials and clinical practice, and we discuss directions for future research.

Abstract
The transition of young type 1 diabetic (T1D) patients from pediatric to adult healthcare is a high-risk period of loss to follow-up. Since 2015, we have implemented a transition program, involving both pediatric and adult clinicians. The main objective was to evaluate the number of patients who had succeeded this transition program at 1 year. We found that 86% of patients underwent the complete transition program. However, adverse outcomes occurred in 19.1% of patients at 1 year but decreased to 2.9% after 3 years. In 63% of patients their HbA1c level had deteriorated 1 year after the transition day and this level stabilized at around 8% in the following 2 and 3 years. In patients who had improved HbA1c levels the body mass index was lower (P = 0.03) and they lived alone (P = 0.04). Although our program seemed to allow a better follow-up than previously described, this study highlights the importance of further supporting this transition period.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Maintaining positive health behaviours promotes better health outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). However, implementing these behaviours may also lead to additional management burdens and challenges. Diabetes technologies, including continuous glucose monitoring systems, automated insulin delivery systems, and digital platforms, are being rapidly developed and widely used to reduce these burdens. Our aim was to review recent evidence to explore the influence of these technologies on health behaviours and well-being among adults with T1D and discuss future directions. RECENT FINDINGS Current evidence, albeit limited, suggests that technologies applied in diabetes self-management education and support (DSME/S), nutrition, physical activity (PA), and psychosocial care areas improved glucose outcomes. They may also increase flexibility in insulin adjustment and eating behaviours, reduce carb counting burden, increase confidence in PA, and reduce mental burden. Technologies have the potential to promote health behaviours changes and well-being for people with T1D. More confirmative studies on their effectiveness and safety are needed to ensure optimal integration in standard care practices.

Abstract
AIMS To reassess the 6-month efficacy and to assess the 12-month sustained efficacy of the MiniMed™ 780G advanced hybrid closed-loop automated insulin delivery (AID) system compared to multiple daily injections plus intermittently scanned glucose monitoring (MDI+isCGM) in people with type 1 diabetes not meeting glucose targets. METHODS The ADAPT study was a prospective, multicentre, open-label, randomized control trial in people with type 1 diabetes, with a glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) concentration of at least 8.0% (64 mmol/mol), on MDI+isCGM therapy. After a 6-month study phase, participants randomized at baseline to MDI+isCGM switched to AID (SWITCH) while the others continued AID therapy (SUSTAIN) for an additional 6 months. The primary endpoint of this continuation phase was the within-group change in mean HbA1c between 6 and 12 months, with superiority in the SWITCH group and noninferiority in the SUSTAIN group (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04235504). RESULTS A total of 39 SWITCH and 36 SUSTAIN participants entered the continuation phase. In the SWITCH group, HbA1c was significantly decreased by -1.4% (95% confidence interval [CI] -1.7% to -1.1%; P < 0.001) from a mean ± SD of 8.9% ± 0.8% (73.9 ± 8.6 mmol/mol) at 6 months to 7.5% ± 0.6% (58.5 ± 6.9 mmol/mol) at 12 months. Mean HbA1c increased by 0.1% (95% CI -0.05% to +0.25%), from 7.3% ± 0.6% (56.5 ± 6.7 mmol/mol) to 7.4% ± 0.8% (57.7 ± 9.1 mmol/mol) in the SUSTAIN group, meeting noninferiority criteria. Three severe hypoglycaemia events occurred in two SWITCH participants during the continuation phase. CONCLUSION ADAPT study phase glycaemic improvements were reproduced and sustained in the continuation phase, supporting the early adoption of AID therapy in people with type 1 diabetes not meeting glucose targets on MDI therapy.

Abstract
Aim To evaluate the effect of a one-year use of an advanced hybrid closed-loop (AHCL) system on the quality of life, level of anxiety, and level of self-efficacy in adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) previously treated with multiple daily injections (MDI) and naïve to advanced diabetes technology. Methods A total of 18 participants of a previously published 3-month randomized trial (10 men, 8 women; age 40.9 ± 7.6 years) who were switched directly from MDI/BMG to AHCL completed 12 months of MiniMed 780G™system use (a 3-month randomized trial followed by a 9-month follow-up phase). At month 6 of the study, patients were switched from the sensor GS3 (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) system, powered by Guardian™ Sensor 3) to GS4. Quality of life was assessed using the Polish validated version of the 'QoL-Q Diabetes' questionnaire. The level of anxiety was evaluated with the use of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Self-efficacy was assessed with the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). Results were obtained at baseline and at the end of the study. Results Significant increase in QoL was reported in the global score (p=0.02, Cohen d=0.61) and in as many as 11 out of 23 analyzed areas of life: being physically active (p=0.02, Cohen d = 0.71); feeling well (p<.01, Cohen d = 0.73); feeling in control of my body (p<.01, Cohen d = 0.72); looking good (p<.01, Cohen d = 1.07); working (p<.01, Cohen d = 1.12); sleeping (p=0.01, Cohen d = 0.66); eating as I would like (p<.01, Cohen d = 0.79); looking after or being useful to others (p= 0.02, Cohen d = 0.65); being active with pets/animals (p<.01, Cohen d = 0.95); being spontaneous (p=0.02, Cohen d = 0.67); and doing "normal" things (p=0.02, Cohen d = 0.67). Both state (p=0.04, Cohen d = 0.56) and trait (p=0.02, Cohen d = 0.60) anxiety decreased while the general self-efficacy increased (p=0.03, Cohen d = 0.76). No participant stopped the use of the pump. Conclusion Adult patients with T1D previously treated with MDI and naïve to modern technologies experienced significant improvement in their psychological well-being after transitioning to the AHCL system after 12 months of treatment.

Abstract
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) patients' lifestyle and prognosis has remarkably changed over the years, especially after the introduction of insulin pumps, in particular advanced hybrid closed loop systems (AHCL). Emerging data in literature continuously confirm the improvement of glycemic control thanks to the technological evolution taking place in this disease. As stated in previous literature, T1D patients are seen to be more satisfied thanks to the use of these devices that ameliorate not only their health but their daily life routine as well. Limited findings regarding the use of new devices in different age groups and types of patients is their major limit. This review aims to highlight the main characteristics of each Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) system available for patients affected by Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. Our main goal was to particularly focus on these systems' efficacy and use in different age groups and populations (i.e., children, pregnant women). Recent studies are emerging that demonstrate their efficacy and safety in younger patients and other forms of diabetes.
