Abstract
Poststroke injuries limit the daily activities of patients and cause considerable inconvenience. Therefore, predicting the activities of daily living (ADL) results of patients with stroke before hospital discharge can assist clinical workers in formulating more personalized and effective strategies for therapeutic intervention, and prepare hospital discharge plans that suit the patients needs. This study used the leave-one-out cross-validation procedure to evaluate the performance of the machine learning models. In addition, testing methods were used to identify the optimal weak learners, which were then combined to form a stacking model. Subsequently, a hyperparameter optimization algorithm was used to optimize the model hyperparameters. Finally, optimization algorithms were used to analyze each feature, and features of high importance were identified by limiting the number of features to be included in the machine learning models. After various features were fed into the learning models to predict the Barthel index (BI) at discharge, the results indicated that random forest (RF), adaptive boosting (AdaBoost), and multilayer perceptron (MLP) produced suitable results. The most critical prediction factor of this study was the BI at admission. Machine learning models can be used to assist clinical workers in predicting the ADL of patients with stroke at hospital discharge.

Abstract
Abstract Introduction Occupation-based intervention (OBI) is defined as an intervention using a clients’ occupation and purposeful activities as a treatment medium to achieve the client’s goals. Several barriers to practising OBI have been reported in previous studies. However, limited research has been done to identify these perceived barriers to applying OBI in Malaysia’s various occupational therapy practice areas. Objective This study aimed to identify perceived barriers to applying OBI in Malaysia’s three main occupational therapy practice areas including physical, psychiatry and paediatric. Method A cross-sectional study design was employed, and participants were recruited using a purposive sampling strategy. Data was collected using an online survey from a Delphi study. Results Two hundred ninety-eight Malaysian occupational therapists aged between 22 and 56 years old participated in this study. The study identified several perceived barriers from the client factors, the contextual factors, occupation as treatment modalities and logistical issues. A statistically significant difference was found in the perceived barriers of applying OBI between different areas of occupational therapy practice (p=.013), working experience (p=.003), and position of occupational therapists (p=.001). Conclusion This study suggests that perceived barriers to applying OBI were influenced by the area of practice, working experience and position of the occupational therapists. The results highlight the need to identify potential solutions to applying OBI through research and education.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Describing how occupation is used in practice can be challenging for occupational therapists. Occupation-centred, occupation-based, and occupation-focussed terminology are frequently used interchangeably and ambiguously to describe practice. However, ambiguous language creates confusion and inadequately demonstrates the value of occupation. AIMS/OBJECTIVES This scoping review aimed to identify how occupation-centred, occupation-based, and occupation-focussed terminology are defined and represented in occupational therapy literature. MATERIALS AND METHODS A five-step scoping review included papers published between 2014 and 2019 from four databases. Extracted data were summarised to outline how the terms were being used within the literature. RESULTS Initial searching yielded 819 articles and 35 papers met inclusion/exclusion criteria. Within current literature, occupation-focussed and occupation-based terminology were inconsistently described. A limited number of articles used occupation-centred and occupation-focussed terminology to describe practice, whilst occupation-based was more prominent. Occupation-based terminology was represented in numerous ways to describe assessments, practice tools, interventions, research, and theory. Discrepancies between the description and implementation of occupation-based practice were most prominent within interventions. CONCLUSION AND SIGNIFICANCE Findings demonstrated that occupation-based and occupation-focussed terminology were used interchangeably and inconsistently in literature. It is timely to consider how this is problematic for our professional identity and perceptions of occupation in practice.

Abstract
Resumo Introdução O Activity Card Sort (ACS) é uma ferramenta desenvolvida para avaliar a participação de idosos em atividades instrumentais de vida diária, sociais e de lazer de baixa e alta demanda. É considerado um instrumento de avaliação útil para o processo terapêutico ocupacional utilizando uma abordagem baseada nas ocupações e centrada no cliente. Objetivo Analisar as principais características da produção científica sobre a utilização do ACS na população de idosos. Método Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura. Para a seleção dos registros bibliográficos, foram selecionadas seis fontes de informação, sem recorte temporal. Na organização e análise dos dados, foi criada uma coleção dos registros bibliográficos para realizar a análise descritiva e, na construção e visualização de redes bibliométricas, foi aplicado o VOSviewer. Resultados A amostra foi composta por 67 artigos. Os objetivos das pesquisas eram direcionados a examinar as propriedades psicométricas do instrumento, utilizar o ACS para comprovar o impacto das deficiências na participação e engajamento em atividades ou usar o ACS como medida de desfecho em diferentes intervenções. Conclusão O instrumento se apresentou como uma opção que enriquece o processo avaliativo na terapia ocupacional, uma vez que apresentou boas propriedades psicométricas, foi capaz de capturar o nível de participação em diferentes populações, assim como pôde ser usado como medida de desfecho para intervenções que se preocupam com o engajamento em ocupações.

Abstract
Introduction The objective of this systematic review was to synthesise the evidence for cognitive strategy training to determine its effectiveness to improve performance of activities of daily living in an adult neurological population. Method Medline, CINAHL, EMBASE, PSYCInfo, PsycBITE and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews were searched until August 2019. Studies examining the effect of cognitive strategy training on functional performance were included. Population criteria included adults with non-progressive neurological conditions. External and internal validity of included studies was systematically evaluated using an appropriate methodological quality assessment for each study design. A content analysis was conducted of the methodologies used. Findings Forty-one studies met the inclusion criteria and were appraised for content, 16 randomised or quasi-randomised trials were meta-analysed. Trial quality was generally ‘good’, Physiotherapy Evidence Database scale scores ranged from 3 to 8 (out of 10). For activity performance outcomes post-intervention, there was a significant benefit of cognitive strategy training over usual care (standardised mean difference 0.79, 95% confidence interval 0.49–1.09; P < 0.00001). Conclusion More high-quality research is needed to strengthen the evidence base for cognitive strategy interventions to improve activity performance outcomes for adults with non-progressive neurological conditions. Abstract
The World Health Organization's (WHO's) new focus on rehabilitation offers great opportunities for occupational therapy. Recognizing that the problems in daily function created by the aging of the world's population and the increasing prevalence of chronic health conditions require rehabilitation to be a vital part of health systems, the World Health Organization brought a variety of stakeholders together in 2017 and 2019 to help them develop the Rehabilitation 2030 initiative. Occupational therapy was represented by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, the American Journal of Occupational Therapy, the Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy, editorial board members of several occupational therapy journals, and other occupational therapy researchers. A major challenge to meeting the goal of sufficient rehabilitation services to meet global need is the worldwide shortage of occupational therapists. This shortage can be attributed to a paucity of knowledge about occupational therapy as a health care profession, lack of understanding of the occupational therapy scope of practice, the cost of education required to become an occupational therapist, and the need for occupational therapy salaries to offset educational costs. Nonetheless, ongoing success in research and clinical outcomes will increase knowledge of the value of occupational therapy and increase the size of the profession. WHO's focus on function is to be lauded. Yet, occupational therapists must not be content with an emphasis on function. They also need to advocate for contextual changes that eliminate barriers to participation and engagement experienced by people with disability.
