Abstract
The current COVID-19 pandemic has affected almost every aspect of life but its impact on the healthcare landscape is conspicuously adverse. However, digital technologies played a significant contribution in coping with the challenges spawned by this pandemic. In this list of applied digital technologies, the role of immersive technologies in battling COVID-19 is notice-worthy. Immersive technologies consisting of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), extended reality (XR), metaverse, gamification, etc. have shown enormous market growth within the healthcare system, particularly with the emergence of pandemics. These technologies supplemented interactivity, immersive experience, 3D modeling, touching sensory elements, simulation, and feedback mechanisms to tackle the COVID-19 disease in healthcare systems. Keeping in view the applicability and significance of immersive technological advancement, the major aim of this study is to identify and highlight the role of immersive technologies concerning handling COVID-19 in the healthcare setup. The contribution of immersive technologies in the healthcare domain for the different purposes such as medical education, medical training, proctoring, online surgeries, stress management, social distancing, physical fitness, drug manufacturing and designing, and cognitive rehabilitation is highlighted. A comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the collected studies has been performed to understand the current research work and future research directions. A state-of-the-artwork is presented to identify and discuss the various issues involving the adoption of immersive technologies in the healthcare area. Furthermore, the solutions to these emerging challenges and issues have been provided based on an extensive literature study. The results of this study show that immersive technologies have the considerable potential to provide massive support to stakeholders in the healthcare system during current COVID-19 situation and future pandemics.

Abstract
Due to the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers have reported behaving in ways that are contrary to their values, which may result in distress and injury. This work is the first of its kind to evaluate the presence of stress in the COVID-19 VR Healthcare Simulation for Distress dataset. The dataset collected passive physiological signals and active mental health questionnaires. This paper focuses on correlating electrocardiogram, respiration, photoplethysmography, and galvanic skin response with the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS)-10 questionnaire. The analysis involved data-driven techniques for a robust evaluation of stress among participants. Low-complexity pre-processing and feature extraction techniques were applied and support vector machine and decision tree models were created to predict the PSS-10 scores of users. Imbalanced data classification techniques were used to further enhance our understanding of the results. Decision tree with oversampling through Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique achieved an accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 of 93.50%, 93.41%, 93.31%, and 93.35%, respectively. Our findings offer novel results and clinically valuable insights for stress detection and potential for translation to edge computing applications to enhance privacy, longitudinal monitoring, and simplify device requirements.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Viewers can watch 360-degree videos from any angle, like a panorama, and experience the virtual environment directly. Recently, there has been a growing interest in immersive and interactive technologies in education, and the use of 360-degree videos has become popular. This systematic review was conducted to present the current use of 360-degree videos in nursing education. DESIGN Systematic review. DATA SOURCES In addition to screening the Google Scholar, MEDLINE, SCOPUS, and EBSCO databases, we also performed hand searching. REVIEW METHODS Relevant keywords were used to identify trials published in the above-mentioned databases from inception to March 1, 2023. In the first step, the titles, abstracts, and full texts of the retrieved studies were independently reviewed by two authors according to the inclusion criteria. Studies on which there was disagreement were reviewed by all authors, and a consensus decision was reached. The data from the studies included in the review were analyzed and reported using the PRISMA 2020 checklist. RESULTS Twelve articles that met the inclusion criteria were reviewed. It was determined that 360-degree video scenarios used in nursing education were mostly related to mental health nursing, and the videos were mostly viewed through head-mounted displays, without any interactive features. Most difficulties encountered in the use of these videos were related to motion sickness. The main implications of the reviewed studies were that 360-degree videos contributed to the development of students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes and that the use of these videos was recommended. CONCLUSIONS As an innovative application the use of 360-degree videos in nursing education was examined from various perspectives in this review. The results showed that the use of such videos was convenient and effective for nursing education.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Three years after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, psychological distress among college students remains increased. This study assesses stress, anxiety, and depression levels among students of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki by the end of the third year of the pandemic (November 2022), revealing demographic characteristics and probable stressors. METHODS A questionnaire was distributed in November 2022 via the academic students' e-mails. The evaluation was performed with the DASS21 survey tool. The correlation analysis and the effect size calculation were performed with the t-test. RESULTS The majority of participants were undergraduates, on their first or second academic year, female students (67%), age of 18 to 21, unmarried or single (91%), and vaccinated against COVID-19 infection (83.4%). Severely increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression (21.3%, 23.3%, and 25.1%, respectively) were measured. The normal and mild levels of stress, anxiety, and depression were 64.0%, 66.5%, and 57.2%, respectively. Female and younger students were at a higher risk of extremely severe stress, anxiety and depression prevalence (ORs up to 2.07, p-Values < 0.00001). Participants who were receiving psychological or psychiatric treatment exhibited severe stress, anxiety, and depression levels (ORs above 2.9, p-Values < 0.00001). CONCLUSIONS Despite the undeniable withdrawal of the COVID-19 pandemic, the community of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki presents high stress, anxiety, and depression levels, similar to those reported during the first year of the pandemic (November 2020). Stressors and risk factors were according to the reported literature and previous studies on Greek students. Academic psychological support offices should consider the students' "profile" in order to evaluate properly the potential risk for emotional and psychological distress. Evidence suggest that new technology (virtual reality, tele-psychiatry or tele-support apps and sessions) should also be implemented in universities.

Abstract
Mental health problems are very common among university students, and the situation worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. The closure of universities, the restrictions imposed, and the reduction of social activities led to considerable changes in students' lives, thus posing new mental health and emotional challenges. Within this context, promoting university students' general well-being, in particular emotional and psychological well-being, becomes essential. In addition to the possibility of online interventions aimed at overcoming distance limitations and reaching people at their home, other advanced technologies such as virtual reality (VR) have demonstrated the potential to improve people's well-being, quality of life, and positive experiences. The study reported in this article is aimed at exploring the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of a self-help VR intervention lasting 3 weeks in promoting emotional well-being in university students. Forty-two university students voluntarily participated in a six-session intervention. In each session, a different virtual scenario was presented: two relaxing experiences and four transformative experiences based on metaphors or metaphoric ones aimed at encouraging students to be aware of their emotions and positive resources. Students were randomly allocated to an experimental group and to a waiting list group that started the intervention after 3 weeks. Before and after the six sessions, participants completed an assessment by completing online questionnaires. Results showed a significant increase in both emotional well-being and psychological well-being in the experimental group compared to the waiting list group. The majority of participants said that they would recommend the experience to other students.

Abstract
Virtual reality (VR) is a simulated experience in a three-dimensional (3D) computer-simulated world. Recent advances in technology position VR as a multipurpose technology in the healthcare sector and as a critical component in achieving Health 4.0. In this article, descriptive and correlationally quantitative research is carried out on the assessments made by Latin American health sciences university professors on the didactic use of virtual reality technologies. The main objective was to analyze the differences in the perceptions expressed by the public or private tenure of the universities where the professors teach. In addition, gender and age gaps were identified in the assessments obtained from each of the types of universities. The results reveal that Latin American health science professors at private universities have a higher selfconcept of their digital skills for the use of virtual reality in the lectures. This greater selfconcept also leads to a reduction in the gender and age gaps in the participating private universities with respect to the public counterparts. It is advisable to increase both faculty training in the didactic use of virtual reality and funding for its use, mainly in public universities.
