Abstract
Fibrous dysplasia is a benign fibro-osseous process affecting the skeletal system, with resulting cystic and fibrous tissue expansion. Craniofacial fibrous dysplasia represents a small subset of monostotic disease, accounting for approximately 10%-25% of all such cases. Involvement of the frontal, temporal, and sphenoid bones has most commonly been described, with a limited number of reported cases citing disease isolated to the nasal bones. The case reported here is differentiated by the degree of expansion of the bilateral nasal bones and the required clinical management of the bony vault in the setting of gross nasal asymmetry.

Abstract
Cherubism, an uncommon genetic disorder, manifests as painless swelling in both jaws. A 20-year-old male presented with symmetrical swelling in both the mandible and maxilla. The jaws exhibited bilateral expansion, typical of this condition. Dentofacial abnormalities associated with cherubism stem from mutations in the SH3BP2 gene, which plays a crucial role in regulating osteoblasts and osteoclasts. In summary, cherubism is a genetic disorder characterized by non-cancerous jaw bone lesions. Surgical intervention may be necessary for functional or aesthetic concerns.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant disorder typified by various combination of numerous Café-au-lait macules, cutaneous and plexiform neurofibromas, freckling of inguinal or axillary region, optic glioma, Lisch nodules and osseous lesions. Cherubism is a rare genetic syndrome described by progressive swelling of the lower and/or upper jaw due to replacement of bone by fibrous connective tissue. Patients are reported in the literature with NF1 and cherubism-like phenotype due to the NF1 osseous lesions in the jaws. The purpose of this case report is the description of a young male genetically diagnosed with both NF1 and cherubism. METHODS AND RESULTS A 9 years and six month old patient with clinical findings of NF1 and cherubism in whom both diseases were genetically confirmed, is presented. The patient was evaluated by a pediatrician, a pediatric endocrinologist, an ophthalmologist, and an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. A laboratory and hormonal screening, a histological examination, a chest X-ray, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the orbit and a digital panoramic radiography were performed. Genetic testing applying Whole Exome Sequencing was conducted. CONCLUSIONS A novel and an already reported pathogenic variants were detected in NF1 and SH3BP2 genes, respectively. This is the first described patient with coexistence of NF1 and cherubism. The contribution of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) in gene variant identification as well as the importance of close collaboration between laboratory scientists and clinicians, is highlighted. Both are essential for optimizing the diagnostic approach of patients with a complex phenotype.

Abstract
This case report presents a rare and challenging manifestation of polyostotic fibrous dysplasia (FD), a skeletal developmental anomaly characterized by the proliferation of fibrous connective tissue intermingled with irregular bony trabeculae. While monostotic FD is more common, polyostotic FD can occur in the context of McCune-Albright syndrome, a multisystem developmental disorder. Our patient, a 55-year-old female with a history of diabetes, hypothyroidism, and dyslipidemia, presented with progressively worsening dysphagia, sternal pain, and swelling over three years. Clinical examination revealed a tender and hard swelling in the upper sternal area, prompting further evaluation. Laboratory results, including bone turnover markers, were unremarkable. Imaging studies unveiled a sizable anterior mediastinal lesion with heterogeneous enhancement and coarse calcifications, initially raising concerns of malignancy. Subsequent positron emission tomography scan findings confirmed FD involvement in both the sternum and right femur. Histopathology of the mediastinal mass revealed a spindle cell neoplasm with bony metaplasia, consistent with FD, supported by immunohistochemistry. A multidisciplinary team affirmed the diagnosis of polyostotic FD, and follow-up imaging after one year demonstrated no significant change in lesion size, confirming a benign etiology. While bisphosphonate therapy was planned, regrettably, the patient was lost to follow-up. This case underscores the importance of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach in diagnosing and managing complex presentations of FD, ultimately contributing to improved patient care and outcomes in such instances.

Abstract
Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a developmental bone disorder caused by the hamartamatous proliferation of bone-forming cells. A 29-year-old male patient with diagnosis of FD was admitted to our clinic with the symptoms of severe craniomaxillofacial involvement of FD beginning from last year. Neurological examination revealed diplopia, horizontal nystagmus, conductive hearing loss, and partial vision loss. In his medical history, it was reported that he had undergone intramedullary nailing operation in his left femur due to a pathological fracture approximately 8 years ago in the orthopedics clinic of our institution. The patient underwent 3 consecutive surgeries by our plastic and neurosurgical team. The patient was followed-up in the neuro-intensive care unit between the surgical sessions and 1 week after the last operation. Afterwards, he was transferred to the neurosurgical department. No postoperative complication was detected. The preoperative signs were recovered. During his 6th month follow-up control-visit, all his preoperative symptoms were improved. In addition, the patient was satisfied with his postoperative cosmetic improvement. In conclusion, virtual surgical planning and intraoperative surgical navigation systems can make the challenging cases possible to operate with increasing the safety margin of the surgical procedures for polyostotic FD.

Abstract
Fibrous Dysplasia is a benign fibro-osseous lesion occurring throughout the skeletal system with a predilection for craniofacial bones, long bones, and ribs. Fibrous dysplasia develops during bone formation and growth with a variable natural evolution. It is considered a genetic nonheritable disease resulting from missense mutations that occur postzygotically in the GNAS1 gene. This mutation leads to a focal congenital failure of proper bone formation and arrest at the woven bone stage. In turn, this leads to a decreased mechanical strength, causing bone pain, pathological fractures, and skeletal deformities. Besides clinical examination, fibrous dysplasia is diagnosed based on the results of radiographic imaging and the microscopic histopathological findings. On CT scan, fibrous dysplasia shows the characteristic "Ground-glass" appearance with well-defined borders. On MRI, fibrous dysplasia has a low signal intensity on T1-weighted MRI and variable signal intensity on T2-weighted MRI. We hereby report a case of an unusual presentation of fibrous dysplasia in a 67-year-old female presenting to the emergency department with generalized malaise and lower limb pain. Fibrous dysplasia may present in the elderly population and can be difficult to differentiate from other malignant and benign lesions affecting the skeletal system.

Abstract
Background Autonomous ovarian activation with recurrent estrogen-producing cysts is a hallmark feature of the rare bone and endocrine disorder fibrous dysplasia/McCune-Albright syndrome. Precocious puberty in girls with McCune-Albright syndrome has been well-described, however long-term effects on gynecologic and reproductive function are unknown. Concerningly, case reports have described poor skeletal outcomes associated with pregnancy in women with fibrous dysplasia. Methods Thirty-nine women with fibrous dysplasia/McCune-Albright syndrome were evaluated as part of a natural history study. Clinical, radiographic, and biochemical data were reviewed. Women were contacted to obtain detailed menstrual and reproductive histories. Results Abnormal uterine bleeding affected 77% of women (30/39), and was associated with severe anemia requiring blood transfusion in 3 cases. Nine women underwent hysterectomy for management of bleeding, including 67% (6/9) at the unusually young age of less than age 35 years. Infertility affected 43% of women (9/21), including 2 women who developed primary ovarian insufficiency after undergoing surgical treatment of ovarian cysts. Of 25 spontaneous pregnancies in 14 women, 35% (8) were unplanned. Among the 14 pregnancies, pregnancy was associated with no change in bone pain in 7 subjects (53%), increased bone pain in 4 subjects (31%), and decreased bone pain in 2 subjects (15%). No additional skeletal complications were reported during pregnancies. Conclusions Women with fibrous dysplasia/McCune-Albright syndrome report a high prevalence of gynecologic morbidity and reduced fertility. There is no clear association between pregnancy and poor skeletal outcomes in this population.

Abstract
Cherubism, a rare hereditary fibro-osseous lesion characterized by painless expansion of jaws, starts early in life manifesting itself fully in the second decade of life and is almost regressed in the third decade. Here, we report a sporadic case of Cherubism with clinico-radiological and scintigraphic presentation of its classical features for its disease rarity and single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography findings with review the literature.
