Abstract
Background The mechanisms and effects of the interplay between the nerves and skeleton remain a popular research topic. This study aimed to analyze and evaluate publications on nerve-bone interactions using bibliometrics and to identify the state of the art of current research, hotspots, and future directions. Methods This study included 1989 articles and reviews from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) published from January 1, 1991, to June 22, 2022. The Bibliometrix package of R 4.2.0 (The R Foundation for Statistical Computing, Vienna, Austria) was used to analyze basic information about the publications, including the annual number of publications, institution analysis, author influence analysis, journal analysis, and the national cooperation network. We also used CiteSpace 5.8.R3 for bibliometric analysis, including co-occurrence, co-citation, and cluster analysis. Results We discovered a significant increase in the number of articles on nerve-bone interactions published over the last 10 years. The most active country and institution were the United States and the University of Minnesota, respectively. In terms of journals and cocited journals, Bone was ranked highest with respect to the number of publications, while Journal of Bone and Mineral Research was ranked highest among cited journals. Wang Lei was the author with the most publications, and Bjurholm A was the most cited author. The analysis of references and keywords revealed that the impact of nerve- and neuromodulation-related factors on stem cell differentiation was a persistently hot topic. Osteoarthritis, neuropeptide Y, and osteoclastogenic process are likely to be the next era of research hotspots. The neurovascular crosstalk within bone has received great attention, especially in skeletal diseases, which may provide potential targets for future treatments. Conclusions We used a bibliometric method to provide an efficient, objective, and comprehensive assessment of existing research about the interplay between the skeletal and nervous systems and to accurately identify hotspots and research frontiers, providing valuable information for future research.

Abstract
Statins are a group of lipid-lowering drugs that inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis and have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and immunomodulatory properties. Several lines of evidence indicate that statins regulate multiple proteins associated with the regulation of differing cellular pathways. The 5'-adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway plays an important role in metabolism homeostasis with effects on cellular processes including apoptosis and the inflammatory responses through several pathways. Recently, it has been shown that statins can affect the AMPK pathway in differing physiological and pathological ways, resulting in anti-cancer, cardio-protective, neuro-protective, and anti-tubercular effects; additionally, they have therapeutic effects on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and diabetes mellitus-associated complications. Statins activate AMPK as an energy sensor that inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in cancer cells, whilst exerting its cardio-protective effects through inhibition of inflammation and fibrosis, and promotion of angiogenesis. Furthermore, statin-associated AMPK activation leads to decreased lipid accumulation and decreased amyloid beta deposition in the liver and brain, respectively, and may have therapeutic effects on the liver and neurons. In this review, we summarize the results of studies of AMPK-associated therapeutic effects of statins in different pathological conditions.

Abstract
After a failed mandibular osteodistraction, the wrong positioned mandible of a few patients with Pierre Robin sequence returned in the most functional position and regained a proper symmetry, without external intervention. The study aims to explain this self-adjustment and introduce the floating bone phenomenon.The inclusion criteria were severe micrognathia, Fast and Early Mandibular Distraction Osteogenesis protocol, postoperative mandibular wrong positioning, presurgery, immediate postsurgery, and long-term computed tomography scan. Five patients were included. The considered parameters were the distance between mandibular dental centerline and midsagittal facial axis, the rotation of the mandibular body, the magnitude of elongation, and the lowering of the mandibular body.Three patients went from a decentralization >4 mm in the activation phase to a normalization of the said value in the follow-up. In the same period, the interincisal point of 2 patients moved respectively from 0.5 mm on the left and 0.8 mm on the right to 1.2 mm and 1.6 mm on the right, respectively. The rotation of the mandibular body was meanly 25.6° among all patients. The mean value of the distraction was 14.1 mm. A difference of about 4.4 mm between the left and the right side was measured. The lowering of the mandible varied between 2.8 and 12.6 mm.All patients improved their symmetry. Four of them improved in all the measured parameters, while 1 patient presented a worsening in the decentralization of the interincisal point.The floating bone phenomenon could break new grounds in the management of patients with Pierre Robin sequence.

Abstract
IMPORTANCE Vascular risk factors are associated with increased risk of Alzheimer disease (AD), but it is unclear whether there is a direct association of these risk factors with AD pathogenesis. OBJECTIVES To assess the associations of vascular risk factors with AD pathogenesis in asymptomatic individuals, and to test whether this association is moderated among individuals who use vascular medications. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS This cross-sectional study used data from the Presymptomatic Evaluation of Experimental or Novel Treatments for Alzheimer Disease (PREVENT-AD) cohort of cognitively unimpaired individuals aged 55 to 82 years with a parental or multiple-sibling history of sporadic AD, who were recruited via advertisement from the greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada, metropolitan area. Participants were enrolled between September 9, 2011, to May, 3, 2017, and stratified by use vs no use of vascular medications. Data were analyzed July 1, 2018, to April 5, 2019. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES Principal analyses investigated associations of total, high-density lipoprotein, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, and a combined vascular risk score (measured using the Framingham Coronary Risk Profile) with global β-amyloid peptide (Aβ) and entorhinal tau burden as measured by positron emission tomography (PET). Potential moderating associations of use of vascular medications with these associations were examined. Secondary similar analyses considered cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) Aβ1-42 and phosphorylated tau levels. RESULTS Among 215 participants (mean [SD] age, 62.3 [5.0] years; 161 [74.8%] women), 120 participants underwent PET, including 75 participants (62.5%) who were not using vascular medications, and 162 participants underwent CSF assessment, including 113 participants (69.8%) who were not using vascular medications. There was an overlap of 67 participants who underwent PET and CSF assessment. Interaction analyses showed that among participants not using vascular medications, higher Aβ deposition as measured by PET was associated with higher total cholesterol level (β = -0.002 [SE, 0.001]; P = .02), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol level (β = -0.002 [SE, 0.001]; P = .006), systolic blood pressure (β = -0.006 [SE, 0.002]; P = .02), pulse pressure (β = -0.007 [SE, 0.002]; P = .004), and Framingham Coronary Risk Profile score (β = -0.038 [SE, 0.011]; P = .001), but such associations were absent in participants who used vascular medications. Interactions were also found between vascular medication use and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (β = -3.302 [SE, 1.540]; P = .03), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (β = 1.546 [SE, 0.754]; P = .04), and Framingham Coronary Risk Profile score (β = 23.102 [SE, 10.993]; P = .04) on Aβ1-42 burden as measured in CSF. Higher Framingham Coronary Risk Profile scores were associated with reduced tau burden among participants using vascular medications but not among participants not using vascular medications (interaction, β = -0.010 [SE, 0.005]; P = .046). CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE These findings corroborate previously reported associations of vascular risk factors with Aβ burden but not tau burden. However, these associations were found only among individuals who were not using vascular medications. These results suggest that medication use or other control of vascular risk factors should be considered in Alzheimer disease prevention trials.

Abstract
The increase in the human lifespan has not been paralleled by an increase in healthy life. With the increase in the proportion of the aged population, there has been a natural increase in the prevalence of age-related disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, frailty, and various other disorders. A continuous rise in these conditions could lead to a widespread medical and social burden. There are now considerable efforts underway to address these deficits in preclinical and clinical studies, which include the use of better study cohorts, longitudinal designs, improved translation of data from preclinical models, multi-omics profiling, identification of new biomarker candidates and refinement of computational tools and databases containing relevant information. Such efforts will support future interdisciplinary studies and help to identify potential new targets that are amenable to therapeutic approaches such as pharmacological interventions to increase the human healthspan in parallel with the lifespan.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Functional healing of peripheral nerve injuries is still difficult. In this study, potential healing effects of thymoquinone and dexpanthenol in sciatic nerve compression injury (SCI) were investigated. Method: Twenty-four male Wistar albino rats which were applied compression injury to their sciatic nerves were randomly separated into four groups as following: "control" group contained six rats administered no pharmacological agent; "TMK" group consisted of six rats administered 10 mg/kg intraperitoneal thymoquinone once a day for one week; "DXP" group contained six rats administered 50 mg/kg intraperitoneal dexpanthenol once a day for one week; and "TMK-DXP" group consisted of six rats administered separately 10 mg/kg intraperitoneal thymoquinone and 50 mg/kg intraperitoneal dexpenthanol once a day for one week. Four weeks later from SCI, sciatic nerve function index (SFI) was applied before sacrifice of all rats, and then their crushed sciatic nerves were histopathologically examined, in terms of "Schwann cell count", "axon and myelin degeneration", "axon shape/size differences", "fibrosis", and "neovascularisation". Results: "Schwann cell count" (p = 0.011), "axon and myelin degeneration" (p = 0.001), "axon shape/size differences" (p = 0.011), and "fibrosis and neovascularisation" (p = 0.026) scores were different between the control and TMK-DXP groups. SFI scores were different between the control and TMK groups (p = 0.002), between the control and TMK-DXP groups (p < 0.001), and between the DXP and TMK-DXP groups (p = 0.029). Conclusions: This study results revealed that these pharmacological agents used alone had no histopathological healing effect in rats with SCI, but thymoquinone could improve walking function. However, thymoquinone and dexpanthenol used together had a significant histopathological and functional healing effect.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Resection of maxillofacial may cause a series of complications such as loss of facial deformity, dysfunction, and psychological distress. Mandibular reconstruction following resection still remains difficult. METHODS A 18-year-old male patient with mandibular ameloblastoma was admitted in the hospital of stomatology. The tumor was dissected and the defect was reconstructed using vascularized fibula graft. One year later, distraction osteogenesis (DO) was performed on the fibula graft to augment the alveolar bone for dental implants. Panoramic radiographs, computed tomography, and clinical photographs were taken. Five months after completion of distraction, the distraction device was removed. RESULTS Panoramic radiographs, computed tomography, and clinical photographs showed the good healing after fibula graft for mandibular reconstruction following ameloblastoma ablation and satisfied alveolar bone with good width and height for dental implants after DO. CONCLUSIONS This report suggests that DO of fibula graft following mandibular reconstruction was an efficient method to augment the alveolar bone for dental implants.
