Abstract
BACKGROUND Malignant tumors are one of the leading causes of death worldwide, imposing a substantial economic and social burden. Early detection is the key to improving cure rates and reducing mortality rates, which requires the development of sensitive early detection technologies. Signal amplification techniques play a crucial role in aptamer-based early detection of tumors and are increasingly garnering attention from researchers. AIM To investigate the current research status, developmental trajectories, and hotspots in signal amplification for aptamer-based tumor detection through bibliometric analysis. METHODS English publications pertaining to signal amplification in aptamer-based tumor detection were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. VOSviewer and CiteSpace software were employed to analyze various information within this field, including countries, institutions, authors, co-cited authors, journals, co-cited journals, cited references, and keywords. RESULTS A total of 757 publications were included in this study. China accounted for 85.47% of all publications, with Nanjing University (China) emerging as the institution with the highest publication output. The most influential authors and journals were Hasanzadeh M. from Iran and "Biosensors and Bioelectronics", respectively. Exosomes and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) stood out as the most researched tumor-related molecules. Currently, the predominant signal amplification technique, nanomaterial, and signal transduction method were identified as hybridization chain reactions, gold nanoparticles, and electrochemical methods, respectively. Over the past 3 years, exosomes, CEA, electrochemical biosensors, and nanosheets have emerged as research hotspots, exhibiting a robust burst of intensity. CONCLUSION This study is the first bibliometric analysis of literature on signal amplification in aptamer-based tumor detection and elucidates the current status, hotspots, and prospective research directions within this realm. Additionally, it provides an important reference for researchers.

Abstract
PURPOSE The utilization of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in studying the mechanisms and treatment of chronic pain has gained significant popularity. However, there is currently a dearth of literature conducting bibliometric analysis on fMRI studies focused on chronic pain. METHODS All the literature included in this study was obtained from the Science Citation Index Expanded of Web of Science Core Collection. We used CiteSpace and VOSviewer to analyze publications, authors, countries or regions, institutions, journals, references and keywords. Additionally, we evaluated the timeline and burst analysis of keywords, as well as the timeline and burst analysis of references. The search was conducted from 2004 to 2023 and completed within a single day on October 4th, 2023. RESULTS A total of 1,327 articles were retrieved. The annual publication shows an overall increasing trend. The United States has the highest number of publications and the main contributing institution is Harvard University. The journal PAIN produces the most articles. In recent years, resting-state fMRI, the prefrontal cortex, nucleus accumbens, thalamus, and migraines have been researched hotspots of fMRI studies on chronic pain. CONCLUSIONS This study provides an in-depth perspective on fMRI for chronic pain research, revealing key points, research hotspots and research trends, which offers valuable ideas for future research activities. It concludes with a summary of advances in clinical practice in this area, pointing out the need for critical evaluation of these findings in the light of guidelines and expert recommendations. It is anticipated that further high-quality research outputs will be generated in the future, which will facilitate the utilization of fMRI in clinical decision-making for chronic pain.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary liver cancer with a high mortality rate. The search for a new biomarker could help the prognosis of HCC patients. We identified the glycolytic gene set associated with HCC and the glycolytic lncRNA based on TCGA and MsigDB databases. According to these lncRNAs, K-means clustering, and regression analysis were performed on the patients. Two groups of HCC patients with different lncRNA expression levels were obtained based on K-means clustering results. The results of difference analysis and enrichment analysis showed that DEmRNA in the two HCC populations with significant survival differences was mainly enriched in transmembrane transporter complex, RNA polymerase II specificity, cAMP signaling pathway, and calcium signaling pathway. In addition, a prognostic model of HCC with 4 DElncRNAs was constructed based on regression analysis. ROC curve analysis showed that the model had good predictive performance. Drug predictionresults showed that the efficacy of JQ1, niraparib, and teniposide was higher in the low-risk group than in the high-risk group. In conclusion, this study preliminarily identified glycolytic-related prognostic features of lncRNAs in HCC and constructed a risk assessment model. The results of this study are expected to guide the prognosis assessment of clinical HCC patients.

Abstract
The majority of low-grade isocitrate dehydrogenase-mutant (IDHmt) gliomas undergo malignant progression (MP), but their underlying mechanism remains unclear. IDHmt gliomas exhibit global DNA methylation, and our previous report suggested that MP could be partly attributed to passive demethylation caused by accelerated cell cycles. However, during MP, there is also active demethylation mediated by ten-eleven translocation, such as DNA hydroxymethylation. Hydroxymethylation is reported to potentially contribute to gene expression regulation, but its role in MP remains under investigation. Therefore, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of hydroxymethylation during MP of IDHmt astrocytoma. Five primary/malignantly progressed IDHmt astrocytoma pairs were analyzed with oxidative bisulfite and the Infinium EPIC methylation array, detecting 5-hydroxymethyl cytosine at over 850,000 locations for region-specific hydroxymethylation assessment. Notably, we observed significant sharing of hydroxymethylated genomic regions during MP across the samples. Hydroxymethylated CpGs were enriched in open sea and intergenic regions (p < 0.001), and genes undergoing hydroxymethylation were significantly associated with cancer-related signaling pathways. RNA sequencing data integration identified 91 genes with significant positive/negative hydroxymethylation-expression correlations. Functional analysis suggested that positively correlated genes are involved in cell-cycle promotion, while negatively correlated ones are associated with antineoplastic functions. Analyses of The Cancer Genome Atlas clinical data on glioma were in line with these findings. Motif-enrichment analysis suggested the potential involvement of the transcription factor KLF4 in hydroxymethylation-based gene regulation. Our findings shed light on the significance of region-specific DNA hydroxymethylation in glioma MP and suggest its potential role in cancer-related gene expression and IDHmt glioma malignancy.

Abstract
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC), particularly the clear cell subtype (ccRCC), poses a significant global health concern due to its increasing prevalence and resistance to conventional therapies. Early detection of ccRCC remains challenging, resulting in poor patient survival rates. In this study, we employed a bioinformatic approach to identify potential prognostic biomarkers for kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC). By analyzing RNA sequencing data from the TCGA-KIRC project, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with ccRCC were identified. Pathway analysis utilizing the Qiagen Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) tool elucidated key pathways and genes involved in ccRCC dysregulation. Prognostic value assessment was conducted through survival analysis, including Cox univariate proportional hazards (PH) modeling and Kaplan-Meier plotting. This analysis unveiled several promising biomarkers, such as MMP9, PIK3R6, IFNG, and PGF, exhibiting significant associations with overall survival and relapse-free survival in ccRCC patients. Cox multivariate PH analysis, considering gene expression and age at diagnosis, further confirmed the prognostic potential of MMP9, IFNG, and PGF genes. These findings enhance our understanding of ccRCC and provide valuable insights into potential prognostic biomarkers that can aid healthcare professionals in risk stratification and treatment decision-making. The study also establishes a foundation for future research, validation, and clinical translation of the identified prognostic biomarkers, paving the way for personalized approaches in the management of KIRC.

Abstract
Ferroptosis is a form of regulated cell death that was first formally proposed a decade ago. While its role in cancer cell death was initially understudied, it has recently gained considerable interest from researchers. In recent years, a growing number of studies have focused on the role of ferroptosis in cancer progression, with the goal of developing novel ferroptosis-inducing cancer therapies. This study aims to present the developmental trend and hotspots of research on ferroptosis-inducing cancer therapy using bibliometric analysis. A literature search was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection on October 1st, 2022, to retrieve articles and reviews pertaining to ferroptosis and cancer published from 2012 to 2022. Microsoft Excel 2016, VOSviewer 1.6.18 and CiteSpace (version 6.1. R6) were utilized to conduct the bibliometric analysis of publication trends, authorship, and citation networks, with a focus on identifying countries, institutions, journals, and authors contributing to the field. These analyses were used to predict future trends in this area. A total of 2839 articles were identified and extracted for analysis. The number of publications has increased almost every year, with a sharp increase after 2018. China produced the most publications in this area, followed by the United States. Central South University was the institution that published the most papers. Frontiers in Oncology was the journal with the highest number of publications, while Cell had the greatest impact factor. Daolin Tang was the most productive author and Dixon SJ was the most influential author. Co-occurrence and burst analyses of keywords and references were conducted to identify the developmental trends and hotspots in ferroptosis-inducing cancer therapy research. Main research directions have shifted from investigating the mechanism of ferroptosis to developing novel ferroptosis-targeting cancer therapies. Emerging topicsfocus on the role of ferroptosis in solid tumor therapy. Based on our bibliometric analysis, we predict that research on ferroptosis in cancer therapy will continue to be a hot topic in the future, with a growing number of treatment modalities related to ferroptosis being developed. Our study provides valuable insights into the current state and future trends of research in this field, serving as a useful guide for researchers seeking to make important contributions in this area.

Abstract
Background Liver cancer (LC) is one of the most common malignancies. Currently, nanotechnology has made great progress in LC research, and many studies on LC nanotechnology have been published. This study aims to discuss the current status, hot spots, and research trends in this field through bibliometric analysis. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was searched for papers related to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) included from January 2000 to November 2022, and its research hotspots and trends were visualized and analyzed with the help of VOSviewer. In addition, a search was conducted to find LC papers related to nanotechnology. Then we used the visual analysis software VOSviewer and CiteSpace to evaluate the contributions of countries/regions, authors, and journals related to the topic and analyze keywords to understand the research priorities and hot spots in the field as well as the development direction. Results There are 1908 papers in the highly cited literature on LC, and its research hotspots are pathogenesis, risk factors, and survival rate. The literature on the application of nanotechnology in LC had 921 papers. Among them, China (n=560, 60.8%) and the United States (n=170, 18.5%) were the countries with the highest number of published papers. Wang Yan (n=11) and Llovet JM (n=131) were the first authors and co-cited authors, respectively. The International Journal of Nanomedicine was the most prolific academic journal (n=41). In addition to "hepatocellular carcinoma" and "nanoparticles", the most frequent keyword was "drug delivery". In recent years, "metastasis" and "diagnosis" appeared in the keyword bursts. This indicates that the application of nanoparticles in the early diagnosis and drug delivery of LC (including liver metastasis) has a good prospect. Conclusion Nanotechnology has received more and more attention in the medical field in recent years. As nanoparticles are easily localized in organelles and cells, they can increase drug permeability in tumor tissues, improve drug delivery efficiency and reduce drug toxicity. Our research results were the first scientific evaluation of the application of nanotechnology in LC, providing scholars with research hotspots and development trends.

Abstract
Background Research on the brain mechanisms underlying manual therapy (MT)-induced analgesia has been conducted worldwide. However, no bibliometric analysis has been performed on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies of MT analgesia. To provide a theoretical foundation for the practical application of MT analgesia, this study examined the current incarnation, hotspots, and frontiers of fMRI-based MT analgesia research over the previous 20 years. Methods All publications were obtained from the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-E) of Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC). We used CiteSpace 6.1.R3 to analyze publications, authors, cited authors, countries, institutions, cited journals, references, and keywords. We also evaluated keyword co-occurrences and timelines, and citation bursts. The search was conducted from 2002-2022 and was completed within one day on October 7, 2022. Results In total, 261 articles were retrieved. The total number of annual publications showed a fluctuating but overall increasing trend. Author B. Humphreys had the highest number of publications (eight articles) and J. E. Bialosky had the highest centrality (0.45). The United States of America (USA) was the country with the most publications (84 articles), accounting for 32.18% of all publications. Output institutions were mainly the University of Zurich, University of Switzerland, and the National University of Health Sciences of the USA. The Spine (118) and the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (80) were most frequently cited. The four hot topics in fMRI studies on MT analgesia were "low back pain", "magnetic resonance imaging", "spinal manipulation", and "manual therapy." The frontier topics were "clinical impacts of pain disorders" and "cutting-edge technical capabilities offered by magnetic resonance imaging". Conclusion fMRI studies of MT analgesia have potential applications. fMRI studies of MT analgesia have linked several brain areas, with the default mode network (DMN) garnering the most attention. Future research should include international collaboration and RCTs on this topic.

Abstract
Purpose Acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS) is a dangerous symptom in patients with severe viral pneumonia. This study aims to comprehensively review the cooperation and influence of countries, institutions, authors and co-cited journals/authors/references and keywords in the field of ALI/ARDS associated with viral pneumonia from the perspective of bibliometrics, evaluate the clustering evolution of knowledge structure, and find hot trends and emerging topics. Methods Publications on ALI/ARDS associated with viral pneumonia published from January 1, 1992 to December 31, 2022 were extracted from the Web of Science core collection. The document type was limited to original article or review, with the language set to English. Citespace was used to conduct the bibliometric analysis. Results A total of 929 articles were included, and the number of them generally increased over time. The countries with the most published articles in this field are the United States (320 papers) and Fudan University is the institution (15 papers) with the most research results. The New England Journal of Medicine was the most frequently co-cited journal, while the most influential co-cited journal was American Journal of Clinical Pathology. Reinout A Bem and Cao Bin were the most prolific author, but there was no leader in this field. The keywords with both high frequency and high centrality were "pneumonia" (Freq = 169, Central = 0.15), "infection" (Freq = 133, Central = 0.15), "acute lung injury" (Freq = 112, Central = 0.18), "respiratory distress syndrome" (Freq = 108, Central = 0.24), and "disease" (Freq = 61, Central = 0.17). "Failure" was the first keyword with citation bursts. Meanwhile, "coronavirus," "cytokine storm" and "respiratory syndrome coronavirus" continue to burst. Conclusion Although there was a surge in literature since 2020, attentions to ALI/ARDS associated with viral pneumonia were still insufficient over last three decades. The communication and cooperation among countries, institutions and authors need to be further strengthened.

Abstract
Vaccines may play an important role in cancer prevention. This bibliometric study in the field of vaccine and cancer prevention is designed to evaluate key research advances, identify existing deficiencies, and provide reference for future investigations. A total of 2916 original articles published in English from 1992 to 2022 were extracted from the Web of Science core collection. America (1,277) and the National Cancer Institute (82) were the most productive country and institution in this field, respectively. Vaccine was not only the most co-cited journal but also the most influential. Garland SM was the most prolific author, and Bosch FX was the most influential co-cited author. The keywords "cervical cancer" had the highest frequency. "Nanovaccines," "vaccine acceptance" and "coverage" were the new research hotspots in this field. Currently, although an increasing number of publications involve vaccine and cancer prevention studies, most of them are related to cervical cancer, and few other cancers, suggesting the need to investigate other cancer prevention vaccines. The promising research hotspots, such as nanovaccines, vaccine acceptance, and vaccine coverage should be the focus of investigation. The study provides the current status and trends in clinical research on vaccine and cancer prevention, enabling researchers to identify hotspots and explore new study directions. In the future, vaccines are expected to play a key role in multiple cancer prevention.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To examine the research status, hot spots, and development trend of virtual vascular intervention simulation training in order to organize the knowledge and support its practice. METHODS Publications on virtual vascular intervention and respective teaching evaluation (2001-2021) were retrieved from Web of Science. Citespace 5.2.R2 and Carrot2 software was used to perform the bibliometric and visual analysis on virtual vascular intervention research networks. RESULTS Of the 1543 articles retrieved, 1520 were relevant to virtual vascular intervention research. Studies on vascular intervention emerged from 2002 with an upward trend being observed from 2010. The trend peaked between 2019 and 2020 with ∼140 published articles (9.21%) during the period. Spain published most studies (n = 146) followed by USA (n = 99) and England (n = 49). COMPUT EDUC (n = 177; 14.47%) journal publishing the highest number of articles. Among 705 authors, GARRISON D R, MAYER RE, DEDE C, COOK DA had highest publications. The frequent keywords used were "Virtual reality" (n = 105) and "education" (n = 105). Low cooperation between countries, authors' networks, and relatively stable academic team was noted making clinical application of virtual vascular intervention weak. CONCLUSION Considerable growth was observed in vascular intervention therapy using VR technology in the last 20 years. With consistent efforts like strengthening cross-institutional and multidisciplinary collaboration networks, VR based simulation training capability can be increased that in turn can improve the outcomes of complex vascular interventions.

Abstract
Background: Gene editing tools using clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) and CRISPR-related systems have revolutionized our understanding of cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution, collaboration, and direction of cancer research using CRISPR. Methods: Data from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database were collected from 4,408 cancer publications related to CRISPR from 1 January 2013to 31 December 2022. The obtained data were analyzed using VOSviewer software for citation, co-citation, co-authorship, and co-occurrence analysis. Results: The number of annual publications has grown steadily over the past decade worldwide. The United States was shown, by far, to be the leading source of cancer publications, citations, and collaborations involving CRISPR than any other country, followed by China. Li Wei (Jilin University, China), and Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, United States) were the author and institution with the most publications and active collaborations, respectively. The journal with the most contributions was Nature Communications (n = 147) and the journal with the most citations was Nature (n = 12,111). The research direction of oncogenic molecules, mechanisms, and cancer-related gene editing was indicated based on keyword analysis. Conclusion: The current study has provided a comprehensive overview of cancer research highlights and future trends of CRISPR, combined with a review of CRISPR applications in cancer to summarize and predict research directions and provide guidance to researchers.

Abstract
Background Prostate cancer (PCa) is a serious threat to the health of elderly aged groups. It is very important to understand the occurrence and development of PCa for early diagnosis, treatment and metastasis control. This study aims to elucidate the international frontier research direction and literature distribution through bibliometric and visual analyses of PCa bone metastasis. Methods Data were obtained from the Web of Science core collection database, which collected 2,246 papers related to PCa bone metastasis from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2021. The collected data were analyzed using the VOSviewer software for citation, co-authorship, co-citation, bibliometric coupling, and co-occurrence. Results Over the past decade, published papers have increased annually. The United States of America has published 890 papers with 29,161 citations, far more than any other country, and it has the most extensive collaboration with other countries. For example, 33 articles by Saad Fred were cited 2,721 times, and 91 articles from the University of Texas MD Anderson CANC CTR were cited 3,037 times, the most cited author and organization. Peng Xinsheng and Duke UNIV comprise the most active collaborative author and organization, respectively. The most co-cited journal was CANCER RES, with 3,195 citations. Studies of PCa bone metastasis can be divided into four categories: “basic research,” “auxiliary diagnosis and treatment,” “clinical trial,” and “prognosis.” Conclusion Our results provide a comprehensive overview of the research priorities and future directions of PCa bone metastasis, which can further accurately guide researchers in diagnosis, treatment, and personalized prevention.

Abstract
Cancer is one of the most common causes of death globally. Despite extensive research and considerable advances in cancer therapy, the fundamentals of the disease remain unclear. Understanding the key signaling mechanisms that cause cancer cell malignancy may help to uncover new pharmaco-targets. Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) regulates various biological functions, including those in malignant cells. Understanding intracellular second messenger pathways is crucial for identifying downstream proteins involved in cancer growth and development. cAMP regulates cell signaling and a variety of physiological and pathological activities. There may be an impact on gene transcription from protein kinase A (PKA) as well as its downstream effectors, such as cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB). The position of CREB downstream of numerous growth signaling pathways implies its oncogenic potential in tumor cells. Tumor growth is associated with increased CREB expression and activation. PKA can be used as both an onco-drug target and a biomarker to find, identify, and stage tumors. Exploring cAMP effectors and their downstream pathways in cancer has become easier using exchange protein directly activated by cAMP (EPAC) modulators. This signaling system may inhibit or accelerate tumor growth depending on the tumor and its environment. As cAMP and its effectors are critical for cancer development, targeting them may be a useful cancer treatment strategy. Moreover, by reviewing the material from a distinct viewpoint, this review aims to give a knowledge of the impact of the cAMP signaling pathway and the related effectors on cancer incidence and development. These innovative insights seek to encourage the development of novel treatment techniques and new approaches.

Abstract
The metabolic processes of organisms are very complex. Each process is crucial and affects the growth, development, and reproduction of organisms. Metabolism-related mechanisms in Octopus ocellatus behaviors have not been widely studied. Brood-care is a common behavior in most organisms, which can improve the survival rate and constitution of larvae. Octopus ocellatus carried out this behavior, but it was rarely noticed by researchers before. In our study, 3,486 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified based on transcriptome analysis of O. ocellatus. We identify metabolism-related DEGs using GO and KEGG enrichment analyses. Then, we construct protein-protein interaction networks to search the functional relationships between metabolism-related DEGs. Finally, we identified 10 hub genes related to multiple gene functions or involved in multiple signal pathways and verified them using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Protein-protein interaction networks were first used to study the effects of brood-care behavior on metabolism in the process of growing of O. ocellatus larvae, and the results provide us valuable genetic resources for understanding the metabolic processes of invertebrate larvae. The data lay a foundation for further study the brood-care behavior and metabolic mechanisms of invertebrates.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the distribution laws and research frontiers of international literature, so as to present a holistic bibliometric evaluation of the studies on breast cancer liver metastasis(BCLM). Data were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database, including publications, year, country, journal, author and keywords. The software VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used for bibliometric coupling, co-authorship, co-citation and co-occurrence analysis. In total, 1,031 publications were analyzed from 2004 to 2020 on BCLM. The year with the highest number of publications was 2006, with 103 papers. The United States, followed by China and Germany were the leading countries on BCLM, accounting for 59% of the whole. The journals that published about BCLM were mainly located in Q1/Q2. Keywords co-occurrence analysis divides BCLM into five clusters:'basic research', 'auxiliary diagnosis and therapy', 'liver resection', 'clinical trial' and 'prognosis'. Main treatment therapies were the latest focus. Burst detection indicated that the trends in BCLM concentrated on subtype and SEER. There is apparently brighter perspective for BCLM research in the coming years, especially in liver resection, subtype and bioinformatics. The consequence of our study as the exclusive scientific evaluation offered an integral overview of BCLM, particularly for research focus and future directions, which can further accurately guide scholars on diagnosis, treatment, and personalized prevention.

Blue Economy and Coastal Tourism: A Comprehensive Visualization Bibliometric Analysis. SUSTAINABILITY 2021. Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the scientific production of the blue economy and coastal tourism research fields to identify research topics and publication patterns. Accordingly, bibliometric analysis was selected as a quantitative meta-analysis literature review method. Scopus was the main database for extracting the scientific production in blue economy and coastal tourism. Various bibliometrics analysis techniques were used to analyze 476 and 49 publications in blue economy and coastal tourism, respectively. The main results are summarized as follows: (i) the number of publications in the blue economy scientific sector has increased significantly, and (ii) contrarily, a relatively small body of blue economy literature is concerned with the coastal tourism sector despite its significant role in the blue economy.
