Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the microbiota composition and diversity between autogenous and anautogenous Culex pipiens pallens, so as to provide insights into unraveling the pathogenesis of autogeny in Cx. pipiens pallens. METHODS Autogenous and anautogenous adult Cx. pipiens pallens samples were collected at 25 ℃, and the hypervariable regions of the microbial 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) gene was sequenced on the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 sequencing platform. The microbiota abundance and diversity were evaluated using the alpha diversity index, and the difference in the microbiota structure was examined using the beta diversity index. The microbiota with significant differences in the abundance between autogenous and anautogenous adult Cx. pipiens pallens samples was identified using the linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe). RESULTS The microbiota in autogenous and anautogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples belonged to 18 phyla, 28 classes, 70 orders, 113 families, and 170 genera, and the dominant phyla included Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and so on. At the genus level, Wolbachia was a common dominant genus, and the relative abundance was (77.6 ± 11.3)% in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples and (47.5 ± 8.5)% in anautogenous mosquito samples, while Faecalibaculum (0.4% ± 0.1%), Dubosiella (0.5% ± 0.0%) and Massilia (0.5% ± 0.1%) were specific species in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples. Alpha diversity analysis showed that higher Chao1 index and ACE index in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples than in anautogenous samples (both P values > 0.05), and lower Shannon index (P > 0.05) and Simpson index (P < 0.05) in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples than in anautogenous samples. LEfSe analysis showed a total of 48 significantly different taxa between autogenous and anautogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples (all P values < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS There is a significant difference in the microbiota diversity between autogenous and anautogenous Cx. pipiens pallens.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Topical intranasal medication is required following functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). The optimal particle size of transnasal nebulization aimed at the sinonasal cavities is not conclusive. The current study aims to evaluate the effect of particle size and various surgery scope of middle turbinectomy (MT) on post-full FESS drug delivery to the sinonasal cavities. METHODS Sinonasal reconstructions were performed from post-full FESS CT scans in 6 chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) patients. Four additional models representing alternative surgery scopes of MT were established from each post-FESS reconstruction for simulation data comparison. Airflow and particle deposition of nebulized delivery were simulated via computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and validated through in vitro experiments. The optimal particle sizes reaching a deposition of at least 75% of the maximum in the targeted regions were identified. RESULTS The drug deposition rate onto the targeted regions increased following MT, with the greatest deposition following posterior MT (P-MT). Droplets in the range of 18-26 μm reached a deposition of larger than 75% of the maximum onto the targeted regions. Drug delivery rate in the sinonasal cavities varied significantly among individuals and across different types of MT with varying surgical scopes. CONCLUSIONS This study is the first to investigate the effect of various surgery scope on drug delivery by transnasal nebulization to the sinonasal cavities. The findings strongly affirm the vast potential of transnasal nebulization as an effective post-FESS treatment option. Moreover, it emphasizes that the drug delivery process via atomizers to the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses is highly sensitive to the particle size.

Abstract
Objective: To explore potential predictors of refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (RMPP) in early stage. Methods: The prospective multicenter study was conducted in Zhejiang, China from May 1st, 2019 to January 31st, 2020. A total of 1 428 patients with fever >48 hours to <120 hours were studied. Their clinical data and oral pharyngeal swab samples were collected; Mycoplasma pneumoniae DNA in pharyngeal swab specimens was detected. Patients with positive Mycoplasma pneumoniae DNA results underwent a series of tests, including chest X-ray, complete blood count, C-reactive protein, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and procalcitonin. According to the occurrence of RMPP, the patients were divided into two groups, RMPP group and general Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (GMPP) group. Measurement data between the 2 groups were compared using Mann-Whitney U test. Logistic regression analyses were used to examine the associations between clinical data and RMPP. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to analyse the power of the markers for predicting RMPP. Results: A total of 1 428 patients finished the study, with 801 boys and 627 girls, aged 4.3 (2.7, 6.3) years. Mycoplasma pneumoniae DNA was positive in 534 cases (37.4%), of whom 446 cases (83.5%) were diagnosed with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, including 251 boys and 195 girls, aged 5.2 (3.3, 6.9) years. Macrolides-resistant variation was positive in 410 cases (91.9%). Fifty-five cases were with RMPP, 391 cases with GMPP. The peak body temperature before the first visit and LDH levels in RMPP patients were higher than that in GMPP patients (39.6 (39.1, 40.0) vs. 39.2 (38.9, 39.7) ℃, 333 (279, 392) vs. 311 (259, 359) U/L, both P<0.05). Logistic regression showed the prediction probability π=exp (-29.7+0.667×Peak body temperature (℃)+0.004×LDH (U/L))/(1+exp (-29.7+0.667×Peak body temperature (℃)+0.004 × LDH (U/L))), the cut-off value to predict RMPP was 0.12, with a consensus of probability forecast of 0.89, sensitivity of 0.89, and specificity of 0.67; and the area under ROC curve was 0.682 (95%CI 0.593-0.771, P<0.01). Conclusion: In MPP patients with fever over 48 to <120 hours, a prediction probability π of RMPP can be calculated based on the peak body temperature and LDH level before the first visit, which can facilitate early identification of RMPP.

Abstract
Introduction Difenoconazole (DIFE) is a common pesticide used in citrus cultivation; excessive intake can cause neurological damage to the organism, and the existing colloidal gold immunochromatographic test strips cannot meet the requirements for the detection of citrus samples. Methods Difenoconazole test strip was prepared based on the colloidal gold immunochromatographic technique (GICT), and its application in citrus samples was investigated; with colloidal gold (CG) as the probe, the optimization of GICT parameters, and the determination of reaction method, the immunochromatographic test strips for the detection of DIFE in citrus was developed, and the limit of detection (LOD), specificity, accuracy, and stability of the test strips were verified. Results The results showed that the visual detection limit of the prepared colloidal gold immunochromatographic test strips was 0.2 mg/kg and the quantitative range was 0.06-0.6 mg/kg, and the test strips could specifically identify DIFE and have no cross-reaction with other common triazole pesticides. The detection method established in this study was verified by the GC-MS method, and the detection results achieved good consistency (R2 > 0.98). Conclusion The test strips developed in this study have good performance and can be used for highly sensitive detection of citrus samples.

Abstract
Squamous intraepithelial lesion of cervix (SIL) in human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive patient often undergoes a silent and long-course development, and most of them with high-grade transit to cervical squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC). The oxysterol 25-hydroxycholesterol (25-HC) is associated with HPV inhibition, autophagy and cholesterol synthesis, however, its function in this long process of SIL development remain unclear. In this study, we demonstrate that 25-HC generation is inhibited through HSIL-to-CSCC transition. The 25-HC activates ferritinophagy in the early stage of SIL, promoting the vulnerability of HSILs to ferroptosis. Therefore, maintaining 25-HC level is crucial for suppressing HSIL progression and holds promise for developing novel clinical therapies for CSCC.

Abstract
Hydrogels are currently in the limelight for applications in soft electronics but they suffer from the tendency to lose water or freeze when exposed to dry environments or low temperatures. Molecular crowding is a prevalent occurrence in living cells, in which molecular crowding agents modify the hydrogen bonding structure, causing a significant reduction in water activity. Here, a wide-humidity range applicable, anti-freezing, and robust hydrogel is developed through the incorporation of natural amino acid proline (Pro) and conductive MXene into polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogel networks. Theoretical calculations reveal that Pro can transform "free water" into "locked water" via the molecular-crowding effect, thereby suppressing water evaporation and ice forming. Accordingly, the prepared hydrogel exhibits high water retention capability, with 77% and 55% being preserved after exposure to 20 °C, 28% relative humidity (RH) and 35 °C, 90% RH for 12 h. Meanwhile, Pro lowers the freezing temperature of the hydrogel to 34 °C and enhances its stretchability and strength. Finally, the PVA/Pro/MXene hydrogels are assembled as multifunctional on-skin strain sensors and conductive electrodes to monitor human motions and detect tiny electrophysiological signals. Collectively, this work provides a molecular crowding strategy that will motivate researchers to develop more advanced hydrogels for versatile applications.

Abstract
In this study, we used Chaihu Shugan San (CSS), a traditional Chinese herbal formula, as a probe to investigate the involvement of brain functional network connectivity and hippocampus energy metabolism in perimenopausal depression. A network pharmacology approach was performed to discover the underlying mechanisms of CSS in improving perimenopausal depression, which were verified in perimenopausal depression rat models. Network pharmacology analysis indicated that complex mechanisms of energy metabolism, neurotransmitter metabolism, inflammation, and hormone metabolic processes were closely associated with the anti-depressive effects of CSS. Thus, the serum concentrations of estradiol (E2), glutamate (Glu), and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) were detected by ELISA. The brain functional network connectivity between the hippocampus and adjacent brain regions was evaluated using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). A targeted metabolomic analysis of the hippocampal tricarboxylic acid cycle was also performed to measure the changes in hippocampal energy metabolism using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). CSS treatment significantly improved the behavioral performance, decreased the serum Glu levels, and increased the serum 5-HT levels of PMS + CUMS rats. The brain functional connectivity between the hippocampus and other brain regions was significantly changed by PMS + CUMS processes but improved by CSS treatment. Moreover, among the metabolites in the hippocampal tricarboxylic acid cycle, the concentrations of citrate and the upregulation of isocitrate and downregulation of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) in PMS + CUMS rats could be significantly improved by CSS treatment. A brain functional network connectivity mechanism may be involved in perimenopausal depression, wherein the hippocampal tricarboxylic acid cycle plays a vital role.

Abstract
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a refractory inflammatory disease with imbalances in intestinal mucosal homeostasis. Cuproptosis serves as newly identified programmed cell death (PCD) form involved in UC. In the study, UC-related datasets were extracted from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. A comparison of UC patients and healthy controls identified 11 differentially expressed cuproptosis-related genes (DE-CRGs), where FDX1, LIAS, and DLAT were differentially expressed in UC groups from the mouse models and clinical samples, with their expression correlating with disease severity. By comprehending weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) and differential expression analysis, the key genes common to the module genes relevant to different cuproptosis-related clusters and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) both in different clusters and patients with and without UC were identified using several bioinformatic analysis. Furthermore, the mRNA levels of four characteristic genes with diagnostic potential demonstrated significant decrease in both mouse models and clinical UC samples. Our discoveries offer a theoretical foundation for cuproptosis effect in UC.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients with BCR::ABL1 fusion. Methods: The clinical data of seven AML patients with BCR::ABL1 fusion from November 2012 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, and their survival status was followed up. Results: The median age of patients at the time of diagnosis was 35 years. Four cases (57.1%) were diagnosed with high leukocyte counts. All cases were assayed as BCR::ABL1 positive and accompanied by four types of gene mutations (NPM1, RUNX1, ASXL1, PHF6) . Seven patients received tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) combined with induction chemotherapy and bridged to allo-HSCT, and six patients received maintenance therapy with TKI. Before allo-HSCT, six patients achieved complete remission, and four patients achieved complete molecular remission (CMR) . After allo-HSCT, the three remaining cases also achieved CMR. All patients were in remission post-allo-HSCT. One case died of infection, and the remaining cases survived without relapse. The 3-year cumulative overall survival rate was (80.0±17.9) %. Conclusions: TKI combined with traditional chemotherapy could achieve a high response rate in AML patients with BCR::ABL1 fusion. In addition, allo-HSCT could enhance the molecular response rate. Maintenance therapy post-HSCT with TKI could improve prognosis.

Abstract
N-Methyl-D-aspartate glutamate receptors (NMDARs) are involved in multiple physiopathological processes, including synaptic plasticity, neuronal network activities, excitotoxic events, and cognitive impairment. Abnormalities in NMDARs can initiate a cascade of pathological events, notably in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and even other neuropsychiatric disorders. The subunit composition of NMDARs is plastic, giving rise to a diverse array of receptor subtypes. While they are primarily found in neurons, NMDAR complexes, comprising both traditional and atypical subunits, are also present in non-neuronal cells, influencing the functions of various peripheral tissues. Furthermore, protein-protein interactions within NMDAR complexes has been linked with Aβ accumulation, tau phosphorylation, neuroinflammation, and mitochondrial dysfunction, all of which potentially served as an obligatory relay of cognitive impairment. Nonetheless, the precise mechanistic link remains to be fully elucidated. In this review, we provided an in-depth analysis of the structure and function of NMDAR, investigated their interactions with various pathogenic proteins, discussed the current landscape of NMDAR-based therapeutics, and highlighted the remaining challenges during drug development.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Autologous fat has the advantages of regeneration, rejuvenation, homology, and support. There are currently no reports indicating that injecting autologous fat enhances the fullness of the lower-lid pretarsal roll. OBJECTIVES In this retrospective, non-randomized study, the effects of injecting autologous fat to cosmetically enlarge the lower-lid pretarsal roll were evaluated by comparison of preoperative and postoperative photographs and patient satisfaction during the follow-up. METHODS First, fat tissues were manually sucked with a 20-ml syringe connected to a 2.5-mm three-hole liposuction cannula. The treated fat tissues were transferred to a 10-ml syringe and centrifuged at 2000 rpm for 2 min, and then the fibrous tissues were manually removed. Finally, autologous fat was injected using a 1-ml syringe linked to a sharp needle. RESULTS Forty-seven patients who underwent surgery between 2018 and 2021 were retrospectively evaluated. Only three patients showed obvious asymmetry or uneven outlines after surgery and underwent a second fat injection. During recovery, bruising and minor contouring irregularities obviously improved after 1 or 2 weeks. Eight patients, who had severe bruising, were able to make a full recovery in more than 2 weeks. No patients experienced serious complications. All patients ultimately displayed pretarsal fullness in their lower eyelids and were satisfied with their outcomes. CONCLUSION The effects of injecting autologous fat to cosmetically enlarge the lower-lid pretarsal roll are long-lasting, esthetic, and safe.

Background The correlation between FOXM1 and KIF20A has not been revealed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Methods Public data was downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. R software was utilized for the execution of bioinformatic analysis. The expression levels of specific molecules (mRNA and protein) were detected using real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) and Western blot assays. The capacity of cell growth was assessed by employing CCK8 and colony formation assay. Cell invasion and migration ability were assessed using transwell assay. Results In our study, we illustrated the association between FOXM1 and KIF20A. Our results indicated that both FOXM1 and KIF20A were associated with poor prognosis and clinical performance. The malignant characteristics of ccRCC cells can be significantly suppressed by inhibiting FOXM1 and KIF20A, as demonstrated by in vitro experiments. Moreover, we found that FOXM1 can upregulate KIF20A. Then, EMT signaling was identified as the underlying pathway FOXM1 and KIF20A are involved. WB results indicated that FOXM1/KIF20A axis can activate EMT signaling. Moreover, we noticed that FOXM1 and KIF20A can affect the immunotherapy response and immune microenvironment of ccRCC patients. Conclusions Our results identified the role of the FOXM1/KIF20A axis in ccRCC progression and immunotherapy, making it the underlying target for ccRCC.

Abstract
PURPOSE External ventricular drainage (EVD) is a life-saving neurosurgical procedure, of which the most concerning complication is EVD-related infection (ERI). We aimed to construct and validate an ERI risk model and establish a monographic chart. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the adult EVD patients in four medical centers and split the data into a training and a validation set. We selected features via single-factor logistic regression and trained the ERI risk model using multi-factor logistic regression. We further evaluated the model discrimination, calibration, and clinical usefulness, with internal and external validation to assess the reproducibility and generalizability. We finally visualized the model as a nomogram and created an online calculator (dynamic nomogram). RESULTS Our research enrolled 439 EVD patients and found 75 cases (17.1%) had ERI. Diabetes, drainage duration, site leakage, and other infections were independent risk factors that we used to fit the ERI risk model. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and the Brier score of the model were 0.758 and 0.118, and these indicators' values were similar when internally validated. In external validation, the model discrimination had a moderate decline, of which the AUC was 0.720. However, the Brier score was 0.114, suggesting no degradation in overall performance. Spiegelhalter's Z-test indicated that the model had adequate calibration when validated internally or externally (P = 0.464 vs. P = 0.612). The model was transformed into a nomogram with an online calculator built, which is available through the website: https://wang-cdutcm.shinyapps.io/DynNomapp/ . CONCLUSIONS The present study developed an infection risk model for EVD patients, which is freely accessible and may serve as a simple decision tool in the clinic.

Abstract
Mitochondrial dysfunction plays a fundamental role in the pathogenesis of cognitive deficit. Rutaecarpine (Rut) is a natural alkaloid with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This study explored whether Rut treatment could enhance cognitive function by improving mitochondrial function and examined the potential mechanisms underlying this ameliorative effect. We used the Morris water maze and Y-maze tests to evaluate the behavioral effects of Rut in a mouse model of cognitive impairment induced by subcutaneous injection of D-galactose (D-gal). Furthermore, we assessed the effects of Rut on mitochondrial function using cell viability assays, flow cytometry, western blotting, biochemical analysis, and immunochemical techniques in vivo and in vitro. The results indicated Rut treatment attenuated cognitive deficits and mitochondrial dysfunction in the mouse model. Similarly, it maintained the balance of mitochondrial dynamics in neurocytes and reduced oxidative stress and mitochondrial apoptosis in the HT22 cell model. Moreover, we found that these protective effects were dependent on the activation of the AMP-activated protein kinase/proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (AMPK/PGC1α) signaling pathway. Our data indicate that Rut treatment are sensitive to reversal cognitive deficits and mitochondrial dysfunction induced by D-gal; this suggests that Rut is a promising mitochondria-targeted therapeutic agent for treating cognitive impairment.

Abstract
The construction of tunable morphological systems has important implications for understanding the mechanism of molecular self-assembly. In this study, a spiropyran derivative M1 is reported with light-responsive assembly morphology, which can be tuned from nanosphere to nanorod by ultraviolet light irradiation. The absorption spectra show that M1 molecules are transformed from closed-ring (SP) isomers into open-ring (MC) isomers and start to form H-aggregates with increasing irradiation time. Density functional theory calculations indicate that MC-MC isomers possess stronger binding energy than SP-SP isomers. The MC isomers may thus facilitate the dissociation of the SP-SP aggregates and promote the change of self-assembled morphology with the aid of stronger π-π stackings and dipole-dipole interactions. The research gives an effective method for modulating the morphology of assemblies, with great potential for applications in smart materials.

Abstract
Current study aims to investigate the biological function of circular RNA (circRNA, circ_0000337) in cervical cancer (CC). Bioinformatic analyses were used to predict targets for circ_0000337 and miR-155-5p, and analyze the gene expression differences between cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC) tissues and normal tissues. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blot were applied to assess mRNA and protein expressions of circ_0000337, microRNA-155-5p (miR-155-5p) and member RAS oncogene family (RAB3B), respectively. Following the establishment of gain/loss-of-function models, CCK-8 was performed to evaluate cell proliferation. Bioinformatics analysis, dual-luciferase reporter assay and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) were used to identify the interaction in circ_0000337, miR-155-5p, and RAB3B. Circ_0000337 and RAB3B were upregulated, while miR-155-5p was downregulated in CC tissues and cell lines. circ_0000337 overexpression promoted cell proliferation, circ_0000337 knock down inhibited cell proliferation by sponging miR-155-5p. RAB3B was a target of miR-155-5p which was positively regulated by circ_0000337. In the collected CC tissues, there was a negative correlation between miR-155-5p and circ_0000337 or RAB3B, and a positive correlation between circ_0000337 and RAB3B. miR-155-5p was positively, while RAB3B was negatively correlated with OS in patients with CC, and they were negatively correlated. In conclusion, circ_0000337 upregulates RAB3B by sponging miR-155-5p to promote CC cell proliferation.

Abstract
Backgrounds and Objective Diabetic foot is a relatively severe complication in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D), with peripheral neuropathy and angiopathy frequently serving as risk factors. However, it is unknown how the other major systemic metabolic factors impacted the profile of these patients, besides glucose management. Thus, we investigated the distinct characteristics of patients with diabetic foot ulcers and their relationships with angiopathy. Materials and Methods We obtained the laboratory data of 334 diabetic patients at Shanghai Pudong Hospital from 2020 to 2023. The comparisons were performed between the groups with or without diabetic foot, including glucose metabolism, lipids profile, liver and kidney function, thyroid function, and serum iron. The association between metabolic factors and lower extremity computed tomography angiography (CTA) was analyzed. Results We found significant disparities between groups in relation to age, serum protein content, liver transferase, serum creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), serum uric acid (UA), small dense low-density lipoprotein (sdLDL), lipoprotein A (LP(a)), apolipoprotein A1 (APOA1), thyroid function, serum iron, and hemoglobin (Hb) (p<0.05). The Spearman correlational analyses showed that the severity of CTA, categorized by the unilateral or bilateral plaque or occlusion, was positively significantly correlated with UA (r=0.499), triglyceride (TG) (r=0.751), whereas inversely correlated with serum albumin (r=-0.510), alanine aminotransferase (r=-0.523), direct bilirubin (DBil) (r=-0.494), total bilirubin (TBil) (r=-0.550), Hb (r=-0.646). Conclusion This cross-section investigation showed that compared to T2D only, the patients with diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) might display similar glucose metabolic control context but adverse metabolic profiles, and this profile is associated with macrovascular angiopathy characteristics and their severity.

Abstract
Studies on self-assembling systems with a controllable morphology responding to light stimulation are significant for revealing the process and mechanism of assembly. Here, a molecule of spiropyran derivative (SP) possessing photoresponsive assembly morphology is constructed. SP self-assembles into irregular sheet-like structures whose morphology can be significantly transformed into regular nanospheres under continuous ultraviolet light stimulation. The UV-vis absorption spectra indicate that 56% of SP are isomerized from closed-ring form (SPC) to open-ring form (SPO) with color changes from colorless to magenta. Furthermore, theoretical calculations demonstrate that SPO-SPO aggregates possess stronger van der Waals forces than do SPC-SPC aggregates and tend to form stable intermediates combined with SPO isomers. Therefore, the isomerization of SP from SPC to SPO and the differences in intermolecular interactions are important factors in the morphological transition. Our study provides an efficient strategy to modulate the assembled morphology, which holds great promise to be applied in the field of smart materials.

Abstract
PURPOSES The primary aim of this clinical study is to identify the factors associated with rapid glycemic, bodyweight, and lipid profile remission in young obese patients following bariatric surgery. MATERIALS AND METHODS In a total of 131 Chinese in-patients at Shanghai Pudong Hospital, China, we retrospectively analyzed in-patient data of metabolic parameters, including BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure (BP), and blood laboratory tests, such as plasma lipids and lipoprotein, hemoglobulin A1c (HbA1c), and oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT) before bariatric surgery. We followed up these indices at the first month, third months, half-year, and one year later. RESULTS The results showed that bodyweight, BP, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), HbA1c, and triglyceride (TG) levels decreased significantly in one to three months following surgery in both male and female patients (p<0.05). We demonstrated that age (male: β=-0.181; female: β=-0.292) and the pre-operation HbA1c levels (male: β=0.935; female: β=0.919) were independent predictors of HbA1c reduction in both young obese male and female patients in three months after surgery. For body weight loss, age (β=-0.229) and pre-operation bodyweight (β=0.735) are the predictors in females, but only pre-operation body weight (β=0.798) is the independent predictor in obese young male patients. CONCLUSION This study discovered that changes in bodyweight were determined by age, pre-operation status of bodyweight, and HbA1C in obese young Chinese.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To explore the reason and treating method for the negative value of uric acid in a patient patient. METHODS The serum of a patient with a negative uric acid detection value was diluted 5 times with "sterilized water" and with "normal saline". Additionally, the serum was treated with PEG6000 protein, and uric acid was detected. RESULTS Elevated IgM paraprotein in the patient resulted in abnormal uric acid response curves in serum samples or diluted serum samples. After the serum was precipitated with PEG600, the uric acid response curve was basically normal. CONCLUSIONS The negative value of the patient's uric acid test was caused by the IgM paraprotein. After removing the interference by PEG6000 protein a true and accurate uric acid result was obtained.

Abstract
PURPOSE By recruiting reference population, we aimed to (1): estimate the 25(OH)D threshold that maximally inhibits the PTH, which can be defined as the cutoff value for vitamin D sufficiency; (2) establish the PTH reference interval (RI) in population with sufficient vitamin D. METHODS Study data were retrieved from LIS (Laboratory Information Management System) under literature suggested criteria, and outliers were excluded using Tukey fence method. Locally weighted regression (LOESS) and segmented regression (SR) were conducted to estimate the threshold of 25(OH)D. Multivariate linear regression was performed to evaluate the associations between PTH concentration and variables including 25(OH)D, gender, age, estimated glomerular filtration rate (EGFR), body mass index (BMI), albumin-adjusted serum calcium (aCa), serum phosphate(P), serum magnesium(Mg), and blood collection season. Z test was adopted to evaluate whether the reference interval should be stratified by determinants such as age and gender. RESULTS A total of 64,979 apparently healthy subjects were recruited in this study, with median (Q1, Q3) 25(OH)D of 45.33 (36.15, 57.50) nmol/L and median (Q1, Q3) PTH of 42.19 (34.24, 52.20) ng/L. The segmented regression determined the 25(OH)D threshold of 55 nmol/L above which PTH would somewhat plateau and of 22 nmol/L below which PTH would rise steeply. Multivariate linear regression suggested that gender, EGFR, and BMI were independently associated with PTH concentrations. The PTH RI was calculated as 22.17-72.72 ng/L for subjects with 25(OH)D ≥ 55 nmol/L with no necessity of stratification according to gender, age, menopausal status nor season. CONCLUSION This study reported 25(OH)D thresholds of vitamin D sufficiency at 55 nmol/L and vitamin D deficiency at 22 nmol/L, and consequently established PTH RIs in subjects with sufficient vitamin D for northern China population for the first time.

Abstract
Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), a widely consumed edible and medicinal plant, possesses significant nutritional and economic value. Abiotic stresses such as drought and low temperatures can impact the growth and development of ginger. The plant-specific transcription factor Teosinte branched1/cycloidea/proliferating cell factor (TCP) has progressively been identified in various plants for its role in regulating plant growth and development as well as conferring resistance to abiotic stresses. However, limited information on the TCP family is available in ginger. In this study, we identified 20 TCP members in the ginger genome, which were randomly distributed across 9 chromosomes. Based on phylogenetic analysis, these ginger TCP were classified into two subfamilies: Class I (PCF) and Class II (CIN, CYC/TB). The classification of the identified ginger TCPs was supported by a multi-species phylogenetic tree and motif structure analysis, suggesting that the amplification of the ginger TCP gene family occurred prior to the differentiation of angiosperms. The promoter region of ginger TCP genes was found to contain numerous cis-acting elements associated with plant growth, development, and abiotic stress response. Among these elements, the stress response element, anaerobic induction, and MYB binding site play a dominant role in drought responsiveness. Additionally, expression pattern analysis revealed variations in the expression of ginger TCP gene among different tissues and in response to diverse abiotic stresses (drought, low temperature, heat, and salt). Our research offers a thorough examination of TCP members within the ginger plant. This analysis greatly contributes to the understanding of how TCP genes regulate tissue development and response to stress, opening up new avenues for further exploration in this field.

Abstract
In this article, we consider the global existence and stability issues of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with partial confinement. First, by establishing some new cross-invariant manifolds and variational problems, a new sharp criterion of global existence is derived in the $ L^{2} $-critical and $ L^{2} $-supercritical cases. Then, the existence of orbitally stable standing waves is obtained in the $ L^{2} $-subcritical and $ L^{2} $-critical cases by taking advantage of the profile decomposition technique. Our work extends and complements some earlier results.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the metabolic disorders in placental tissues of dexamethasone induced cleft palate mode. Methods: Twelve pregnant rabbits were randomly divided into dexamethasone group (experimental group, 8) and saline control group (4), and a certain amount of dexamethasone and saline were administered intramuscularly to the experimental and control groups respectively from embryonic days (ED) 13 to 16, and placental tissue samples were collected on day 21 of gestation. The corresponding profiles of the embryonic placental tissue samples were obtained by liquid chromatography-triple tandem quadrupole(LC-MS), and the metabolites of the embryonic placental tissues were characterized by principal component analysis among the dexamethasone-treated group with cleft palate (D-CP group), the dexamethasone-treated group without cleft palate (D-NCP group) and the control group. Results: There were significant metabolic differences among the D-CP group, D-NCP group and control group, with a total of 133 differential metabolites (VIP>1, P<0.05) involving in important metabolic pathways including vitamin B6 metabolism, lysine metabolism, arginine anabolic metabolism, and galactose metabolism. The four metabolites, vitamin B6, galactose, lysine and urea, differed among the three groups (P<0.05). There were significant differences in vitamin B6 (0.960±0.249, 0.856±0.368, 1.319±0.322), galactose (0.888±0.171, 1.033±0.182, 1.127±0.127), lysine (1.551±0.924, 1.789±1.435, 0.541±0.424) and urea (0.743±0.142, 1.137±0.301, 1.171±0.457, respectively) levels among control group, D-NCP group and D-CP group (F=5.90, P=0.008; F=5.59, P=0.009; F=4.26, P=0.025; F=5.29, P=0.012). Conclusions: The results indicated that dexamethasone induced cleft palate may be highly correlated with metabolic disorders including vitamin B6 metabolism, lysine metabolism, arginine anabolic metabolism and galactose metabolism.

Abstract
Environmental stressors such as high temperature and intense light have been shown to have negative effects on plant growth and productivity. To survive in such conditions, plants activate several stress response mechanisms. The synergistic effect of high-temperature and intense light stress has a significant impact on ginger, leading to reduced ginger production. Nevertheless, how ginger responds to this type of stress is not yet fully understood. In this study, we examined the phenotypic changes, malonaldehyde (MDA) content, and the response of four vital enzymes (superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), lipoxygenase (LOX), and nitrate reductase (NR)) in ginger plants subjected to high-temperature and intense light stress. The findings of this study indicate that ginger is vulnerable to high temperature and intense light stress. This is evident from the noticeable curling, yellowing, and wilting of ginger leaves, as well as a decrease in chlorophyll index and an increase in MDA content. Our investigation confirms that ginger plants activate multiple stress response pathways, including the SOD and CAT antioxidant defenses, and adjust their response over time by switching to different pathways. Additionally, we observe that the expression levels of genes involved in different stress response pathways, such as SOD, CAT, LOX, and NR, are differently regulated under stress conditions. These findings offer avenues to explore the stress mechanisms of ginger in response to high temperature and intense light. They also provide interesting information for the choice of genetic material to use in breeding programs for obtaining ginger genotypes capable of withstanding high temperatures and intense light stress.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) combining chemoradiotherapy (CRT) with chemotherapy (CT) was a novel pre-surgical approach to cancer treatment. This meta-analysis aimed to compare the clinical outcomes between neoadjuvant CRT (nCRT) with induction CT and nCRT with consolidated CT in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) patients. METHOD In July 2022, a literature search was conducted using the following public databases: PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, retrieved all relevant articles comparing nCRT-combining induction CT with nCRT-combining-consolidated CT treatments for LARC patients. RESULTS Four eligible studies were identified, including a total of 995 LARC patients: 473 in the nCRT with consolidated CT group and 522 in the nCRT with induction CT group. The organ preservation (OP) rate of the nCRT with consolidated CT group was higher than that of the nCRT with induction CT group (RR [relative risk]: 1.53; 95% CI (confidence interval): 1.09-2.14). The pathological complete response (PCR, RR: 1.22; 95% CI 0.37-2.17), the 3-year disease-free survival (DFS, RR 1.02; 95% CI 0.71-1.46), the local recurrence (LR, RR 0.98; 95% CI 0.52-1.85), rates of R0 resection (RR 0.74; 95% CI 0.55-1.10), compliance (RR 0.52; 95% CI 0.12-2.26), and grade 3--4 toxicities (RR 0.78; 95% CI 0.57-1.06) were all similar between the two groups. CONCLUSION In this meta-analysis of TNT regimens for rectal cancer, consolidative CT following nCRT was associated with similar PCR, 3-year DFS, LR, R0 resection, compliance, and grade 3-4 toxicities compared to induction CT prior to nCRT but a higher rate of organ preservation.

Abstract
Post-COVID cognitive dysfunction (PCCD) is a condition in which patients with a history of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, usually three months from the onset, exhibit subsequent cognitive impairment in various cognitive domains, and cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis. While our knowledge of the risk factors and management strategy of PCCD is still incomplete, it is necessary to integrate current epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment evidence, and form consensus criteria to better understand this disease to improve disease management. Identifying the risk factors and vulnerable population of PCCD and providing reliable strategies for effective prevention and management is urgently needed. In this paper, we reviewed epidemiology, diagnostic markers, risk factors and available treatments on the disease, formed research recommendation framework for vulnerable population, under the background of post-COVID period.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a hypermetabolic disease. Abnormal up-regulation of glycolytic signaling promotes tumor growth, and glycolytic metabolism is closely related to immunotherapy of renal cancer. The aim of the present study was to determine whether and how the glycolysis-related biomarker TCIRG1 affects aerobic glycolysis, the tumor microenvironment (TME) and malignant progression of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). METHODS Based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA, n = 533) and the glycolysis-related gene set from MSigDB, we identified the glycolysis-related gene TCIRG1 by bioinformatics analysis, analyzed its immunological properties in ccRCC and observed how it affected the biological function and glycolytic metabolism using online databases such as TIMER 2.0, UALCAN, LinkedOmics and in vitro experiments. RESULTS It was found that the expression of TCIRG1, was significantly increased in ccRCC tissue, and that high TCIRG1 expression was associated with poor overall survival (OS) and short progression-free interval (PFI). In addition, TCIRG1 expression was highly correlated with the infiltration immune cells, especially CD4+T cell Th1, CD8+T cell, NK cell, and M1 macrophage, and positively correlated with PDCD1, CTLA4 and other immunoinhibitors, CCL5, CXCR3 and other chemokines and chemokine receptors. More importantly, TCIRG1 may regulate aerobic glycolysis in ccRCC via the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, thereby affecting the malignant progression of ccRCC cell lines. CONCLUSIONS Our results demonstrate that the glycolysis-related biomarker TCIRG1 is a tumor-promoting factor by affecting aerobic glycolysis and tumor immune microenvironment in ccRCC, and this finding may provide a new idea for the treatment of ccRCC by combination of metabolic intervention and immunotherapy.

Abstract
Ginger is a valuable crop known for its nutritional, seasoning, and health benefits. However, abiotic stresses, such as high temperature and drought, can adversely affect its growth and development. Heat shock transcription factors (HSFs) have been recognized as crucial elements for enhancing heat and drought resistance in plants. Nevertheless, no previous study has investigated the HSF gene family in ginger. In this research, a total of 25 ZoHSF members were identified in the ginger genome, which were unevenly distributed across ten chromosomes. The ZoHSF members were divided into three groups (HSFA, HSFB, and HSFC) based on their gene structure, protein motifs, and phylogenetic relationships with Arabidopsis. Interestingly, we found more collinear gene pairs between ZoHSF and HSF genes from monocots, such as rice, wheat, and banana, than dicots like Arabidopsis thaliana. Additionally, we identified 12 ZoHSF genes that likely arose from duplication events. Promoter analysis revealed that the hormone response elements (MEJA-responsiveness and abscisic acid responsiveness) were dominant among the various cis-elements related to the abiotic stress response in ZoHSF promoters. Expression pattern analysis confirmed differential expression of ZoHSF members across different tissues, with most showing responsiveness to heat and drought stress. This study lays the foundation for further investigations into the functional role of ZoHSFs in regulating abiotic stress responses in ginger.

Abstract
AIM To assess the efficacy versus the adverse effects of various concentrations of atropine in the prevention of myopia in Asian children. METHODS Databases (PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library and Web of science) were comprehensively searched from inception to April 2022. Types of studies included were randomized clinical trials (RCTs). The published languages were limited to English. Two researchers assessed the quality of included studies independently using Cochrane risk of bias tool based on the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. Funnel plots and Egger's test were used for detection of publication bias. Meta-analyses were conducted using STATA (version 15.0; StataCorp). RESULTS A total of 15 RCTs involving 2268 patients were included in the study. In the atropine group, spherical equivalent progressed at a significantly lower rate [weighted mean difference (WMD)=0.39, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.23, 0.54] than in the control group. A WMD of 0.15 mm was associated with less axial elongation (95%CI -0.19, -0.10). Different doses showed statistically significant differences (P<0.05) and an improved effect could result from a higher concentration. Changes in photopic pupil size and mesopic pupil size in atropine group is 0.70 mm (95%CI: 0.33, 1.06) and 0.38 mm (95%CI: 0.22, 0.54) more than the control group. In the present Meta-analysis, no changes in accommodative amplitude (AA) were associated with atropine administration. Atropine administration increased the risk of adverse effects by 1.37 times. CONCLUSION Concentrations of less than 1% atropine are able to effectively retard diopter and axis growth of myopia in Asian children in a dose-dependent manner. Meanwhile, it caused pupil enlargement, but induced no change in the AA within this range. Further study is required to determine the dosage needed to achieve maximum efficacy and minimal side effects.

Abstract
Blood-brain barrier (BBB) leakage is an important cause of the exacerbation of pathological features of cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury (CIRI). However, the specific mechanism of BBB leakage is not clear. It was found that the CIRI resulted in RIPK1 activation and subsequent RIPK1-dependent apoptosis (RDA). Inhibition of RIPK1 significantly reduced BBB breakdown and brain damage. The aim of this study is to investigate the mechanism of RIPK1 in the BBB leakage during CIRI. It was discovered by proteomics that autophagy activation resulting from ischemia and reperfusion significantly downregulated the level of A20 protein. A20 is an important protein that regulates RIPK1 and RDA. It was hypothesized that activation of autophagy caused by ischemic reperfusion led to a decrease in A20 protein, which, in turn, caused the activation of RIPK1 and the occurrence of RDA, leading to leakage of the BBB. The findings in this study revealed the role of RIPK1 in the cell death and BBB leakage upon cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury, and these findings provide a novel perspective for the treatment of ischemic reperfusion.

Abstract
AIM To evaluate the difference and the correlation between the concentrations of cytokines in the aqueous humor of eyes with macular edema secondary to diabetic retinopathy (DR) or retinal vein occlusion (RVO). METHODS This is a retrospective case control study. The aqueous humor samples were collected during intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) for patients diagnosed with macular edema secondary to DR (DME) or RVO (RVO-ME) at Xijing Hospital from August 2021 to July 2022. Meanwhile, aqueous humor samples during vitrectomy from patients with idiopathic macular hole (IMH) were also collected and served as controls. The aqueous humor concentrations of VEGF, platelet-derived factor (PDGF), interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, IL-18, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1) were measured with Human Premixed Multi-Analyte Kit (Luminex). The difference of the aqueous cytokines and the correlation between the two diseases were analyzed. RESULTS A total of 40 eyes of 38 patients were enrolled in the study, including 13 eyes of 11 DME patients (DME group), 16 eyes of 16 RVO-ME patients (RVO-ME group) and 11 eyes of 11 IMH patients (control group). The VEGF, PDGF, IL-6, IL-8, and MCP-1 levels of the aqueous humor were higher in both DME and RVO-ME groups compared with the control group (all P<0.05), the levels of TNF-α was higher in the DME group than in the control group (P<0.05). The VEGF, IL-6, MCP-1, and TNF-α levels in the aqueous humor were significantly higher in the DR group than those in the RVO group (all P<0.05). Correlation analyses revealed that there were complex positive correlations between IL-6, IL-8, IL-18, MCP-1, and TNF-α levels in the aqueous humor of eyes with two diseases. CONCLUSION Although ischemic and inflammatory factors are similarly involved in the pathogenesis of DME and RVO-ME, the roles of these factors are more significant or more likely to be activated in DR patients, suggesting different treatment strategies should be considered for the two diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Short-term air pollution exposure and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) risk are related. However, the impact of the pollutant levels decline on this relationship, which attributes to clean air policy implementation and the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, is unclear. In the present research, we explored the influence of different pollutant levels on ICH risk during eight years in a southwestern China megacity. METHODS Our research used a time-stratified case-crossover design. We retrospectively analyzed ICH patients in a teaching hospital from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2021, and divided 1571 eligible cases into two groups (1st group: 2014-2017; 2nd group: 2018-2021). We observed the trend of every pollutant in the entire study period and compared the pollution levels in each group, using air pollutants data (PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2, CO, and O3) documented by the local government. We further established a single pollutant model via conditional logistic regression to analyze the association between short-term air pollutants exposure and ICH risk. We also discussed the association of pollution levels and ICH risk in subpopulations according to individual factors and monthly mean temperature. RESULTS We found that five air pollutants (PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2, CO) exhibited a continuous downward trend for the whole duration, and the daily concentration of all six pollutants decreased significantly in 2018-2021 compared with 2014-2017. Overall, the elevation of daily PM2.5, SO2, and CO was associated with increased ICH risk in the first group and was not positively associated with risk escalation in the second group. For patients in subgroups, the changes in the influence of lower pollutant levels on ICH risk were diverse. In the second group, for instance, PM2.5 and PM10 were associated with lower ICH risk in non-hypertension, smoking, and alcohol-drinking participants; however, SO2 had associations with increased ICH risk for smokers, and O3 had associations with raised risk in men, non-drinking, warm month population. CONCLUSIONS Our study suggests that decreased pollution levels diminish the adverse effects of short-term air pollutants exposure and ICH risk in general. Nevertheless, the influence of lower air pollutants on ICH risk in subgroups is heterogeneous, indicating unequal benefits among subpopulations.

Abstract
Ascorbic acid (AsA) is a water-soluble antioxidant that plays important roles in plant development and human health. Understanding the regulatory mechanism underlying AsA biosynthesis is imperative to the development of high AsA plants. In this study, we reveal that the auxin response factor SlARF4 transcriptionally inhibits SlMYB99, which subsequently modulates AsA accumulation via transcriptional activation of AsA biosynthesis genes GPP, GLDH, and DHAR. The auxin-dependent transcriptional cascade of SlARF4-SlMYB99-GPP/GLDH/DHAR modulates AsA synthesis, while mitogen-activated protein kinase SlMAPK8 not only phosphorylates SlMYB99, but also activates its transcriptional activity. Both SlMYB99 and SlMYB11 proteins physically interact with each other, thereby synergistically regulating AsA biosynthesis by upregulating the expression of GPP, GLDH, and DHAR genes. Collectively, these results demonstrate that auxin and abscisic acid antagonistically regulate AsA biosynthesis during development and drought tolerance in tomato via the SlMAPK8-SlARF4-SlMYB99/11 module. These findings provide new insights into the mechanism underlying phytohormone regulation of AsA biosynthesis and provide a theoretical basis for the future development of high AsA plants via molecular breeding.

Abstract
BACKGROUND β-cryptoxanthin is a dietary carotenoid for which there have been few studies on the safety and pharmacokinetics following daily oral supplementation. METHODS 90 healthy Asian women between 21 and 35 years were randomized into three groups: 3 and 6 mg/day oral β-cryptoxanthin, and placebo. At 2, 4, and 8 weeks of supplementation, plasma carotenoid levels were measured. The effects of β-cryptoxanthin on blood retinoid-dependent gene expression, mood, physical activity and sleep, metabolic parameters, and fecal microbial composition were investigated. RESULTS β-cryptoxanthin supplementation for 8 weeks (3 and 6 mg/day) was found to be safe and well tolerated. Plasma β-cryptoxanthin concentration was significantly higher in the 6 mg/day group (9.0 ± 4.1 µmol/L) compared to 3 mg/day group (6.0 ± 2.6 µmol/L) (p < 0.03), and placebo (0.4 ± 0.1 µmol/L) (p < 0.001) after 8 weeks. Plasma all-trans retinol, α-cryptoxanthin, α-carotene, β-carotene, lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin levels were not significantly changed. No effects were found on blood retinol-dependent gene expression, mood, physical activity and sleep, metabolic parameters, and fecal microbial composition. CONCLUSIONS Oral β-cryptoxanthin supplementation over 8 weeks lead to high plasma concentrations of β-cryptoxanthin, with no impact on other carotenoids, and was well tolerated in healthy women.

Abstract
Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of first-line immunochemotherapy in the treatment of advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (CRD42021287033). Methods: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science were systematically searched to obtain randomized controlled trials, and the outcome indicators of the reports were compared and analyzed. Results: A total of 3163 patients from five reported randomized controlled trials were included in the meta-analysis. The results showed the comprehensive benefits of toripalimab combined with chemotherapy, in terms of overall survival (hazard ratio: 0.59; 95% CI: 0.43-0.81) and progression-free survival (hazard ratio: 0.58; 95% CI: 0.46-0.73). Conclusion: Toripalimab combined with chemotherapy may be a better choice for first-line immunochemotherapy, although this needs to be verified by clinical studies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Necroptosis is a novel type of programmed cell death distinct from apoptosis. However, the role of necroptosis in ovarian cancer (OC) remains unclear. The present study investigated the prognostic value of necroptosis-related genes (NRGs) and the immune landscape in OC. METHODS The gene expression profiling and clinical information were downloaded from the TCGA and GTEx databases. Differentially expressed NRGs (DE-NRGs) between OC and normal tissueswere identified. The regression analyses were conducted to screen the prognostic NRGs and construct the predictive risk model. Patients were then divided into high- and low-risk groups, and the GO and KEGG analyses were performed to explore bioinformatics functions between the two groups. Subsequently, the risk level and immune status correlations were assessed through the ESTIMATE and CIBERSORT algorithms. The tumor mutation burden (TMB) and the drug sensitivity were also analyzed based on the two-NRG signature in OC. RESULTS Totally 42 DE-NRGs were identified in OC. The regression analyses screened out two NRGs (MAPK10 and STAT4) with prognostic values for overall survival. The ROC curve showed a better predictive ability in five-year OS using the risk score. Immune-related functions were significantly enriched in the high- and low-risk group. Macrophages M1, T cells CD4 memory activated, T cells CD8, and T cells regulatory infiltration immune cells were associated with the low-risk score. The lower tumor microenvironment score was demonstrated in the high-risk group. Patients with lower TMB in the low-risk group showed a better prognosis, and a lower TIDE score suggested a better immune checkpoint inhibitor response in the high-risk group. Besides, cisplatin and paclitaxel were found to be more sensitive in the low-risk group. CONCLUSIONS MAPK10 and STAT4 can be important prognosis factors in OC, and the two-gene signature performs well in predicting survival outcomes. Our study provided novel ways of OC prognosis estimation and potential treatment strategy.

Abstract
The incidence and mortality rate of prostate cancer are among the highest for all cancers worldwide; this disease has a high cancer mortality rate in males, following lung cancer. Sprouty4-intron 1 (SPRY4-IT1) has been shown to play a variety of roles in tumors. Our previous study demonstrated that SPRY4-IT1 sponges microRNA-101-3p to promote the proliferation and metastasis of bladder cancer cells by upregulating enhancer of zeste homolog 2 expression; however, the role of SPRY4-IT1 in prostate cancer has not been fully established. In the present study, the expression levels, effects and mechanism of action of SPRY4-IT1 were investigated in prostate cancer tissues and cell lines using reverse transcription-quantitative PCR, western blotting, Cell Counting Kit-8 and flow cytometry assays. The results indicated that SPRY4-IT1 expression was upregulated in prostate cancer tissues and cell lines. Furthermore, hypoxia increased the expression levels of SPRY4-IT1 in prostate cancer cells. Knockdown of SPRY4-IT1 expression led to S-phase arrest, decreased expression levels of the cell cycle-associated proteins CDK2 and cyclin D1. AKT phosphorylation was also reduced by SPRY4-IT1 knockdown. In summary, the findings indicate the elevation of SPRY4-IT1 expression in prostate cancer. Under hypoxic conditions in vitro, SPRY4-IT1 overexpression promoted prostate cancer cell proliferation via a mechanism involving regulation of the cell cycle and the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Therefore, it may provide a basis for the development of targeted therapies.

Abstract
In the rapidly growing area of high-frequency communications, polyimide films with ultralow dielectric constant and dielectric loss, adequate insulating strength, and recyclability are in high demand. Using a synthesized soluble fluorinated polyimide, a series of recyclable porous dielectric films with varying porosities were fabricated in this study through nonsolvent-induced phase separation. By manipulating the mass ratio of the binary solvent used to dissolve the polyimide, the shape, size, and size distribution of the pores generated throughout the polyimide matrix can be accurately regulated. The porosity and average pore size of the as-prepared porous films were adjustable between 71% and 33% and between 9.31 and 1.00 μm, respectively, which resulted in a variable dielectric constant of 1.51–2.42 (100 kHz) and electrical breakdown strength of 30.3–119.7 kV/mm. The porous sPI film with a porosity rate of 48% displayed a low dielectric constant of 2.48 at 10 GHz. Coupled with their superior thermal stability, mechanical characteristics, and recyclability, these porous polyimide films are highly promising for constructing high-frequency microelectronic devices.

Abstract
Huangjiu is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in the world. It is usually made by fermenting grains, and Qu is used as a saccharifying and fermenting agent. In this study, we identified differential carbonyl compounds in Huangjiu with varying sugar contents from different regions. First, we developed and validated a detection method for volatile carbonyl compounds in Huangjiu, and for optimal extraction, 5 mL of Huangjiu and 1.3 g/L of O-(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl)hydroxylamine hydrochloride (PFBHA) were incubated at 45 °C for 5 min before extracting the volatile carbonyl compounds at 45 °C for 35 min. Second, the targeted quantitative analysis of 50 carbonyl compounds in Huangjiu showed high levels of Strecker aldehydes and furans. Finally, orthogonal projections to latent structures discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) was used to differentiate between Huangjiu with different sugar contents, raw materials, and region of origin. A total of 19 differential carbonyl compounds (VIP > 1, p < 0.05) were found in Huangjiu with different sugar contents (semidry and semisweet Huangjiu), and 20 differential carbonyl compounds (VIP > 1, p < 0.05) were found in different raw materials for Huangjiu production (rice and nonrice Huangjiu). A total of twenty-two and eight differential carbonyl compounds, with VIP > 1 and p < 0.05, were identified in semidry and semisweet Huangjiu from different regions (Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Fujian), respectively.

Abstract
RATIONALE Endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS) is a rare disease in patients with uterine malignancies, accounting for <1%. Low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LGESS) accounts merely 0.2% of gynecologic malignant tumor. Primary low-grade extrauterine endometrioid stromal sarcomas (LGEESS) is even more uncommon, with only a few documented case reports. We report a case of primary LGEESS exhibiting widely invasion in multiple organs after hysterectomy, which is the first case reported in Jiangsu Province of China. PATIENT CONCERNS A 42-year-old nulliparous female with dysgnosia presented with a moderate amount of irregular vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain and distension, and frequent urination for 2 days. Her surgical history included a total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy for uterine fibroids 6 years ago. Ultrasonography and the abdominal and pelvic computed tomography scan detected some solid polycystic masses in the pelvic and abdominal cavities. DIAGNOSES The histopathology of the specimen confirmed the diagnosis of LESS in the absence of florid endometriosis. The patient was diagnosed with primary extrauterine endometrial stromal sarcoma at FIGO stage III. INTERVENTIONS Surgery and histopathology were performed. OUTCOME After surgery, the patient was maintained on leuprorelin acetate microspheres with sustained release for injection at 3.75 mg once every 4 weeks while refusing further radiotherapy. LESSONS The diagnosis of primary LGEESS is challenging mainly because of their unforeseen location and nongynecologic signs and symptoms. Total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy are recommended to LGESS, while additional resection for extrauterine disease depends on disease extent and resectability.

Abstract
AimThis study aimed to determine the factors affecting the quality of life of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and to construct a disease recurrence prediction model based on these influencing factors.MethodsA prospective, single-center study in China was conducted between October 2020 and March 2021. The quality of life of patients was assessed using the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (IBDQ). Multiple stepwise regression analysis was used to analyze the factors influencing the quality of life of patients with IBD. The chi-square test and the point-biserial correlation analysis were performed to identify factors associated with clinical recurrence. A binary logistic regression model was constructed to predict the recurrence. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the prediction model. Patients with IBD from April 2021 to June 2021 were randomly included for model verification to evaluate the disease recurrence prediction model.ResultsThe average IBDQ score of patients with IBD was 172.2 ± 35.0 (decreased by 23.2%). The scores of all dimensions of the IBDQ were decreased, especially emotional function and systemic symptoms. Disease activity, age, extraintestinal manifestations (EIMs), and annual household income were important factors influencing the IBDQ scores of patients with ulcerative colitis, and these accounted for ~57.0% of the factors affecting the quality of life. Disease activity, EIMs, and occupational stress were important factors influencing the IBDQ scores of patients with Crohn's disease, and they accounted for approximately 75.1% of the factors affecting the quality of life. Annual household income, occupational stress, and IBDQ scores were independent risk factors for recurrence. The area under the curve of the recurrence prediction model was 81.1%. The sensitivity and specificity were 81.7 and 71.7%, respectively. The Youden index of the model was 0.534. The established recurrence prediction model has good discriminant validity in the validation cohort.ConclusionThe quality of life of patients with IBD was generally poor. The use of factors affecting the quality of life to predict disease recurrence has high predictive value and can support the management of IBD by selecting patients at a higher risk for relapse.

Abstract
It is of great importance to treat a bacterial-infected wound by a smart dressing capable of delivering antibiotics in a smart manner without causing drug resistance. The construction of smart release nanocontainers responsive to near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation in an on-demand and stepwise way is a promising strategy for avoiding the emergence of multidrug-resistant bacteria. Here, we develop a hydrogel composite made of alginate and nanotubes with an efficient NIR-triggered release of rifampicin and outstanding antibacterial ability. This composite hydrogel is prepared through co-encapsulating antibacterial drug (rifampicin), NIR-absorbing dye (indocyanine green), and phase-change materials (a eutectic mixture of fatty acids) into halloysite nanotubes, followed by incorporation into alginate hydrogels, allowing the in-situ gelation at room temperature and maintaining the integrity of drug-loaded nanotubes. Among them, the eutectic mixture with a melting point of 39 °C serves as the biocompatible phase-change material to facilitate the NIR-triggered drug release. The resultant phase-change material gated-nanotubes exhibit a prominent photothermal efficiency with multistep drug release under laser irradiation. In an in vitro assay, composite hydrogel provides good antibacterial potency against Staphylococcus aureus, one of the most prevalent microorganisms of dangerous gas gangrene. A bacterial-infected rat full-thickness wound model demonstrates that the NIR-responsive composite hydrogel inhibits the bacteria colonization and suppresses the inflammatory response caused by bacteria, promoting angiogenesis and collagen deposition to accelerate wound regeneration. The NIR-responsive composite hydrogel has a great potential as an antibacterial wound dressing functionalized with controlled multistep treatment of the infected sites. Phase change material-gated nanocontainer exhibits an efficient NIR-triggered release of drugs. Photothermal-responsive hydrogel shows efficient antibacterial properties through the NIR-responsive step-wise antibacterial drug release. In vivo, photothermal-responsive hydrogel inhibits bacterial proliferation and effectively suppress the inflammatory response caused by bacteria, thus accelerating bacteria-infected wound regeneration. Various types of drugs and biological effectors can be loaded in the nanotubes while the hydrogel matrix can also be regulated to achieve multiple healing functions.

Abstract
Direct writing of one-dimensional nanomaterials with large aspect ratios into customized, highly conductive, and high-resolution patterns is a challenging task. In this work, thin silver nanowires (AgNWs) with a length-to-diameter ratio of 730 are employed as a representative example to demonstrate a potent direct ink writing (DIW) strategy, in which aqueous inks using a natural polymer, sodium alginate, as the thickening agent can be easily patterned with arbitrary geometries and controllable structural features on a variety of planar substrates. With the aid of a quick spray-and-dry postprinting treatment at room temperature, the electrical conductivity and substrate adhesion of the written AgNWs-patterns improve simultaneously. This simple, environment benign, and low-temperature DIW strategy is effective for depositing AgNWs into patterns that are high-resolution (with line width down to 50 μm), highly conductive (up to 1.26 × 105 S/cm), and mechanically robust and have a large alignment order of NWs, regardless of the substrate's hardness, smoothness, and hydrophilicity. Soft electroadhesion grippers utilizing as-manufactured interdigitated AgNWs-electrodes exhibit an increased shear adhesion force of up to 15.5 kPa at a driving voltage of 3 kV, indicating the strategy is very promising for the decentralized and customized manufacturing of soft electrodes for future soft electronics and robotics.

Abstract
To realize the precise modulation among the cesium lead halide perovskite-related phases is one of the most fascinating subjects and has motivated increasing research. The formation mechanisms of different phases of cesium lead halide have not been fully recognized. In this work, we reported the phase-selective synthesis of CsPbBr3 nanorods and Cs4PbBr6 nanocrystals (NCs) in amine-free systems, simply by adjusting the dosage of oleic acid (OA). By utilizing UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, we probed the evolution of the NCs and some lead bromide complex species during syntheses in reaction systems with different OA dosages. An OA-limited condition facilitated the formation of [PbBr4]2- and Cs4PbBr6 NCs. OA-rich conditions facilitated the formation of [PbBr3]-, [Pb2Br5]-, etc. at early stages and the subsequent generation of CsPbBr3 NCs. As the reaction systems equilibrated at a later stage, as-prepared CsPbBr3 or Cs4PbBr6 NCs would coexist with certain lead bromide complexes. OA dosage also greatly affected the kinetics of reactions toward CsPbBr3 NCs. A relatively large amount of OA would accelerate the formation of CsPbBr3 NCs. Our experimental results support two-step formation pathways of the cesium lead bromide NCs going through lead bromide complexes, and suggest that OA exerted all the influence by virtue of the lead bromide complexes. Our study presents a relatively clear picture of the formation of CsPbBr3 and Cs4PbBr6 NCs, which should be helpful in improving the preparation of lead halide perovskite-related NCs.

Abstract
Cellobiose is the primary product of cellulose hydrolysis and is expected to function as a type of pathogen/damage-associated molecular pattern in evoking plant innate immunity. In this study, cellobiose was demonstrated to be a positive regulator in the immune response of lettuce, but halted autoimmunity when lettuce was exposed to concentrations of cellobiose >60 mg l-1. When lettuce plants were infected by Botrytis cinerea, cellobiose endowed plants with enhanced pre-invasion resistance by activating high β-1,3-glucanase and antioxidative enzyme activities at the initial stage of pathogen infection. Cellobiose-activated core regulatory factors such as EDS1, PTI6, and WRKY70, as well as salicylic acid signaling, played an indispensable role in modulating plant growth-defense trade-offs. Transcriptomics data further suggested that the cellobiose-activated plant-pathogen pathways are involved in microbe/pathogen-associated molecular pattern-triggered immune responses. Genes encoding receptor-like kinases, transcription factors, and redox homeostasis, phytohormone signal transduction, and pathogenesis-related proteins were also up- or down-regulated by cellobiose. Taken together, the findings of this study demonstrated that cellobiose serves as an elicitor to directly activate disease-resistance-related cellular functions. In addition, multiple genes have been identified as potential modulators of the cellobiose-induced immune response, which could aid understanding of underlying molecular events.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The genus Zingiber of the Zingiberaceae is distributed in tropical, subtropical, and in Far East Asia. This genus contains about 100-150 species, with many species valued as important agricultural, medicinal and horticultural resources. However, genomic resources and suitable molecular markers for species identification are currently sparse. RESULTS We conducted comparative genomics and phylogenetic analyses on Zingiber species. The Zingiber chloroplast genome (size range 162,507-163,711 bp) possess typical quadripartite structures that consist of a large single copy (LSC, 86,986-88,200 bp), a small single copy (SSC, 15,498-15,891 bp) and a pair of inverted repeats (IRs, 29,765-29,934 bp). The genomes contain 113 unique genes, including 79 protein coding genes, 30 tRNA and 4 rRNA genes. The genome structures, gene contents, amino acid frequencies, codon usage patterns, RNA editing sites, simple sequence repeats and long repeats are conservative in the genomes of Zingiber. The analysis of sequence divergence indicates that the following genes undergo positive selection (ccsA, ndhA, ndhB, petD, psbA, psbB, psbC, rbcL, rpl12, rpl20, rpl23, rpl33, rpoC2, rps7, rps12 and ycf3). Eight highly variable regions are identified including seven intergenic regions (petA-pabJ, rbcL-accD, rpl32-trnL-UAG, rps16-trnQ-UUG, trnC-GCA-psbM, psbC-trnS-UGA and ndhF-rpl32) and one genic regions (ycf1). The phylogenetic analysis revealed that the sect. Zingiber was sister to sect. Cryptanthium rather than sect. Pleuranthesis. CONCLUSIONS This study reports 14 complete chloroplast genomes of Zingiber species. Overall, this study provided a solid backbone phylogeny of Zingiber. The polymorphisms we have uncovered in the sequencing of the genome offer a rare possibility (for Zingiber) of the generation of DNA markers. These results provide a foundation for future studies that seek to understand the molecular evolutionary dynamics or individual population variation in the genus Zingiber.

Abstract
Agriculture is the source of human clothing and food, but it also brings negative externalities to the environment. The outflow of the rural population is one of the factors for changes in the characteristics of the rural population. Farmers' decisions on agricultural production can affect agricultural ecological efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to study the relationship between the two in rural development. Taking Qin'an County in the Loess Hilly Region of central Gansu, China, as an example, this paper analyzed the demographic characteristics and the evolution characteristics of agricultural eco-efficiency under the background of rural population outflowing, and the impact of the former on the latter, based on the panel statistical data of 17 villages and towns from 2001 to 2020. The results show that (1) From 2001 to 2020, the non-agricultural level of Qin'an County's labor force showed an upward fluctuation trend. The level of aging was relatively stable, and the per capita disposable income was significantly increased. (2) From 2001 to 2020, the agricultural eco-efficiency of Qin'an County showed a wavy change, but there were some towns and villages that have not been effectively developed. The regional differences are significantly different. (3) The non-agriculturalization level of the labor force promotes agricultural eco-efficiency through the direct effect rather than the space spillover effect. The positive effect of aging on agricultural eco-efficiency was mainly reflected through direct effect rather than spatial spillover effect. Per capita, disposable income has a significant positive spatial spillover effect on agricultural eco-efficiency. Finally, this paper provides a scientific reference for promoting the improvement of agricultural eco-efficiency and sustainable development. This is of great theoretical and practical significance for the realization of rural revitalization.
