Abstract
BACKGROUND Acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) elastography is an ultrasound technique that is capable of measuring tissue stiffness noninvasively. It is difficult to differentiate idiopathic portal hypertension (IPH) from liver cirrhosis (LC) or chronic hepatitis (CH), and liver biopsy is essential. We investigated whether it would be possible to noninvasively diagnose IPH by measuring the stiffness of the liver and spleen by ARFI. METHODS The subjects were 17 IPH patients, 25 LC patients, 20 CH patients, and 20 normal controls (NC). We measured liver stiffness, spleen stiffness, and the spleen/liver stiffness ratio, and plotted ROC curves. RESULTS The median value of liver stiffness in the IPH group was lower than that in the LC group (p = 0.00077) and about the same as in the CH group (p = 0.79). The median value of spleen stiffness was highest in the IPH group (IPH vs. LC group, p = 0.003; IPH vs. CH group, p < 0.00001). The spleen/liver stiffness ratio was lower in the LC group and in the CH group, and higher in the IPH group (p < 0.001, respectively). When an ROC curve of spleen/liver stiffness ratios was plotted to differentiate between the IPH group and the combined group of patients with other liver diseases (LC + CH group), when a cutoff value of 1.71 was used, the AUROC was 0.933 sensitivity 0.941, specificity 0.800, and accuracy 0.839. CONCLUSION Measuring the spleen/liver stiffness ratio by ARFI made it possible to noninvasively, specifically, and accurately diagnose IPH.

Abstract
AIM Persistent hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is characterized by a weak CD8(+) T cell response to HBV. Immunotherapeutic strategies that overcome tolerance and boost these suboptimal responses may facilitate viral clearance in chronically infected individuals. Therefore, we examined whether CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T (Treg) cells might be involved in a inhibition of CD8(+) T cell priming or in the modulation of the magnitude of the 'peak' antiviral CD8(+) T cell response primed by DNA immunization. METHODS B10.D2 mice were immunized once with plasmid pCMV-S. Mice received 500 microg of anti-CD25 mAb injected intraperitoneally 3 d before DNA immunization to deplete CD25(+) cells. Induction of HBV-specific CD8(+) T cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) was measured by S28-39 peptide loaded DimerX staining and their function was analyzed by intracellular IFN-gamma staining. RESULTS DNA immunization induced HBV-specific CD8(+) T cells. At the peak T cell response (d 10), 7.1+/-2.0% of CD8(+) T cells were HBV-specific after DNA immunization, whereas 12.7+/-3.2% of CD8(+) T cells were HBV-specific in Treg-depleted mice, suggesting that DNA immunization induced more antigen-specific CD8(+) T cells in the absence of CD25(+) Treg cells (n = 6, P<0.05). Similarly, fewer HBV-specific memory T cells were detected in the presence of these cells (1.3+/-0.4%) in comparison to Treg-depleted mice (2.6+/-0.9%) on d 30 after DNA immunization (n = 6, P<0.01). Both IFN-gamma production and the avidity of the HBV-specific CD8(+) T cell response to antigen were higher in HBV-specific CD8(+) T cells induced in the absence of Treg cells. CONCLUSION CD25(+) Treg cells suppress priming and/or expansion of antigen-specific CD8(+) T cells during DNA immunization and the peak CD8(+) T cell response is enhanced by depleting this cell population. Furthermore, Treg cells appear to be involved in the contraction phase of the CD8(+) T cell response and may affect the quality of memory T cell pools. The elimination of Treg cells or their inhibition may be important in immunotherapeutic strategies to control HBV infection by inducing virus-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses in chronically infected subjects.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dual red imaging (DRI) is a new technology that can increase the visibility of deeper veins compared with narrow band imaging (NBI). As esophageal varices (EVs) are a vascular disease occurring in the submucosal layer, their visibility might be increased by DRI. We prospectively clarified whether the visibility of EVs with red color sign (RCS) can be increased by DRI, and clarified the relation between the visibility scores and the obtained endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) images. METHODS Forty patients were enrolled. The visibility of the EVs on DRI and NBI endoscopic images was evaluated by five observers in a blinded manner and was compared with a white light image (bad, 0; equal, 1; good, 2). The diameter of the lumen and the depth of the EVs and RCS from the epithelium were measured by EUS. The relation between the visibility scores and the EUS findings was investigated. RESULTS The DRI scores were 1.66 ± 0.34 for the EV substance and 1.79 ± 0.28 for the RCS, whereas the NBI scores were 0.68 ± 0.38 and 0.41 ± 0.28, respectively. A significant negative correlation was found between the depth and the visibility score (r = -0.505, p = 0.001 for EVs; r = -0.458, p = 0.003 for RCS). CONCLUSIONS DRI increased the visibility of the EVs and RCS. The visibility of the EVs or RCS in the shallower position was more enhanced by DRI. Visual recognition of the changing degrees of visibility by DRI enables the prediction of the depth of EVs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Dual red imaging (DRI) is a novel image-enhanced endoscopy technique that can increase the visibility and predict the depth of esophageal varices (EVs). The recurrence rate of EVs after endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS) reportedly decreases by intravariceal injection of a sclerosant. We evaluated prospectively whether the EIS success rate was increased by DRI compared with the white-light imaging (WLI) mode. METHODS A total of 79 patients with EVs were randomly divided into the DRI (n = 40) and WLI (n = 39) groups. The primary endpoint was the success rate of intravariceal injection on the first EIS puncture. The secondary endpoint was the recurrence rate. A variable puncture needle was used, and the length was adjusted according to the EV visibility change by DRI. In the WLI group, DRI was not used. RESULTS The success rate of the first puncture was significantly higher in the DRI group than in the WLI group (80.0% vs 46.2%; P = .0018). The cumulative recurrence rate was significantly lower in the DRI group (P = .031). The sum of the depth and luminal diameter of EVs was investigated by EUS. The Pearson correlation coefficient between this value and the needle length was higher in the DRI group than in the WLI group (r = 0.878 vs 0.603). CONCLUSIONS DRI increased the EIS success rate and decreased the recurrence rate. This resulted from the puncture needle adjustment to the appropriate length via EV depth prediction by DRI.

Abstract
AIM Protein and energy malnutrition is a severe problem for patients with liver cirrhosis (LC) and fasting often induces starvation which is a vitally important outcome. Dietary restriction is essential for endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS) in patients with risky esophageal varices, thereby creating the possible exacerbation of nutritional state and inducing liver dysfunction. Whether EIS induces nutritional deficiency in LC patients and the effects of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA)-enriched nutrient are prospectively investigated. METHODS A total of 61 LC patients were randomly divided into an EIS monotherapy group (non-BCAA group, n = 31) and an EIS combined with BCAA therapy group (n = 30). Platelet count, blood chemistry and somatometry values were prospectively measured at five time points. RESULTS The platelet counts before treatment were at the same level in both groups (P = 0.72). Three months after treatment, the counts decreased in the non-BCAA group; however, they increased in the BCAA group (P = 0.019). Body mass index, triceps skin fold thickness and arm muscle circumference significantly decreased in both groups. The BCAA and tyrosine ratio value increased only in the BCAA group (P < 0.01). The skeletal muscle volume measured by InBody720 significantly decreased in the non-BCAA group (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION EIS induced protein-energy malnutrition, however, skeletal muscle volume was maintained by taking BCAA. Administration of BCAA had some effect in maintaining the nutritional state, and may improve the platelet count. Taking a greater amount of nutrients and shorter dietary restriction period or hospitalization was desirable.

Abstract
AIM The thrombopoietin receptor agonist, lusutrombopag, was recently adapted for treatment of thrombocytopenia in chronic liver disease. However, no studies have compared the effects of lusutorombopag and platelet transfusion. Therefore, we aimed to clarify the efficacy and proportion of responders of lusutrombopag compared with platelet transfusion, by propensity score matching. METHODS A total of 200 patients (90 lusutrombopag, 110 platelet transfusion) with thrombocytopenia were enrolled, and matched for age, liver function, renal function, platelet count, peripheral blood count, and spleen size, using the propensity score-matching method. Finally, 52 patients (26 lusutrombopag, 26 platelet transfusion) were included. The primary end-point was an increase in platelet count. Secondary end-points were the proportion of responders, duration of the sustained effect, incidence of adverse events, and predictors associated with an increase in platelet count. RESULTS The median increase in platelets from baseline was 48 × 103 /μL versus 9.5 × 103 /μL (lusutrombopag vs. transfusion, P < 0.0001). The proportion of responders (increase of >10 × 103 /μL) was 100% versus 50.0% (P < 0.0001). Median duration of the sustained effect (increase of >50 × 103 /μL) was 10 versus 2 days (P < 0.0001). The incidence of adverse events was 7.7% versus 50.0% (P = 0.036). Predictors associated with an increase in platelets were hemoglobin and spleen size by multiple regression analysis. CONCLUSION Lusutrombopag was more effective in chronic liver disease patients than platelet transfusion. The proportion of responders, effect duration, and non-incidence rate of adverse events were higher in the lusutrombopag group.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Red dichromatic imaging (RDI) is a novel image-enhanced endoscopy released in 2020, which increases the visibility of deeper vessels. In this study, we retrospectively investigated whether RDI can shorten treatment times of endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS), and which operational procedure times are affected compared with white light imaging (WLI). METHODS A total of 155 patients (RDI, 70; WLI, 85) with risky esophageal varices (EV), who were treated with EIS were analyzed. Treatment times were compared, and predictors associated with treatment time were analyzed by multivariate analysis. For 24 cases (RDI, 12; WLI, 12) in which treatment videos were recorded, the procedure times of each step (observation of EV, needle flush, positioning, puncture, observation of bleeding, hemostasis, observation after hemostasis) were measured. Regarding the seven patients with EV bleeding, color differences were calculated between the bleeding point and the blood pool using the CIE (L*a*b*) color measurement method, and results were compared between using RDI and WLI. RESULTS Treatment times were shorter in the RDI group (RDI vs. WLI = 35.1 vs. 42.2 min; P < 0.01). 'RDI function' and 'amount of sclerosant' were extracted as independent predictors of treatment time. Times for 'observation of EV' and 'observation of bleeding' were shorter in the RDI group (P = 0.01 and <0.01, respectively). Regarding the color difference, RDI significantly increased bleeding point visibility (RDI vs. WLI = 31.4 ± 11.8 vs. 8.6 ± 6.2, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION Red dichromatic imaging can shorten the treatment time of EIS by increasing bleeding point visibility.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To clarify the usefulness of transnasal esophagogastroduodenoscope (N-EGD) with all flexible imaging color enhancement (FICE) patterns (0-9) for the diagnosis of esophageal varices (EV). METHODS A total of 50 patients with EV were examined during the same period by N-EGD without sedation and by peroral endoscopy (O-EGD) with sedation. The visibility of treatment scars, microvessels, recurrent EV and red color sign (RCS) were measured. Visibility was evaluated by five blinded observers (poor-good: 0-10), and the effect of both endoscopic examinations on the cardiorespiratory function of the patients was measured. RESULTS The image scores for O-EGD and N-EGD with ordinary mode and N-EGD with FICE were 7.3 ± 1.2, 6.1 ± 1.0 and 6.9 ± 1.0 for treatment scars; 7.2 ± 1.4, 6.2 ± 1.2 and 7.3 ± 1.0 for microvessels; 7.2 ± 1.2, 6.1 ± 1.0 and 7.1 ± 1.0 for recurrent EV and 7.2 ± 1.3, 6.1 ± 1.3, and 7.2 ± 1.2 for RCS, respectively (intraclass correlation coefficients > 0.6). When FICE patterns 2, 6 and 9 were used, visibility was much improved. Ten minutes after insertion, the double product values in the N-EGD with the FICE group were significantly better (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS N-EGD with FICE is very useful for the diagnosis of EV and can improve the visibility of N-EGD on each lesion to the same level as that of O-EGD. N-EGD with FICE does not require sedation and may reduce the risk of hepatic encephalopathy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Red dichromatic imaging (RDI) is next-generation image-enhanced endoscopy technique released in July 2020. We previously reported that RDI can predict esophageal varices (EV) depth and decrease their recurrence rate by accurate intravariceal injections during endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS) using unreleased prototype RDI endoscope. In this study, we analyzed whether RDI improves the overall survival (OS) rate and whether it is more accurate independent predictor of EV recurrence than white light imaging (WLI), using propensity score matching. METHODS A total of 179 patients were enrolled. Patients were matched for age, platelet count, liver function, EV size, luminal diameter, and EV depth using propensity score matching, and 78 patients (RDI, 39; WLI, 39) were finally matched. Primary endpoints were OS and recurrence rates. Secondary endpoints were success rate of intravariceal injection, operating time, incidence of adverse events (AEs), and predictors associated with OS and recurrence rates. RESULTS There was no difference in OS (P = .193), but the cumulative recurrence rate in the RDI group was significantly lower than in the WLI group (P = .002). Success rates of intrainjection, operating time, and incidence of AEs were better in the RDI group (p = 0.035, .026, and .0019, respectively). Independent predictors associated with recurrence rate by Cox proportional regression were RDI function and luminal diameter (P < .001 and .017, respectively). CONCLUSION RDI did not improve OS but decreased the recurrence rate. Independent predictors of recurrence rate were RDI and luminal diameter, resulting from secure intravariceal injections in EIS.

Abstract
A 58-year-old man with hepatitis B cirrhosis noticed black stools and underwent an endoscopy at a community hospital. The presence of esophageal varices (EVs) was confirmed, but the bleeding point was not found. He was referred to our institution and underwent a second endoscopy. Extensive white patches of esophageal candidiasis were visible on endoscopy by white-light imaging (WLI), but it was difficult to find the fibrin cap of the EVs. This was easier under narrow-band imaging (NBI), however, as the color turned red from absorption by hemoglobin adhered to it. We retrospectively measured the color differences (CD) between the fibrin cap and the surrounding mucosa 10 times using the CIE (L*a*b*) color space method. The median value of CD increased after NBI (13.9 → 43.0, p < 0.001), with increased visibility. However, the median CD between the white patch and surrounding mucosa decreased after NBI (44.8 → 30.3, p < 0.001). The fibrin cap was paler than the white patch of candidiasis, but the increased visibility of the fibrin cap by NBI enabled it to be found more easily. This is the first report of a case in which NBI was helpful in locating a fibrin cap of EVs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM Liver cirrhosis (LC) is accompanied by hepatic arterializations, intrahepatic shunts, and hyperdynamic circulations. These changes shorten the arrival time (AT) of ultrasound contrast agents to the hepatic vein (HV). Whether treatment of gastric fundal varices (GVs) by balloon-occluded transvenous obliteration (B-RTO) improves the AT in LC patients was prospectively investigated. METHODS A total of 32 LC patients with GVs and 10 normal controls (NCs) were enrolled. This study was approved by the clinical research ethics committee. Images of hepatic artery (HA), portal vein (PV), and HV were monitored after an injection of a contrast agent using quantification software. The AT before and after B-RTO in LC patients and that in NCs were compared. RESULTS All GVs were treated effectively, and indocyanine green retention rate was improved (P < 0.0001). The mean values of the HA, PV, and HV ATs in the NCs were 21.9 ± 3.3, 28.2 ± 2.0, and 40.5 ± 2.1 s, respectively. Those in LC patients were 17.4 ± 4.4, 21.9 ± 5.6, and 26.3 ± 6.7, respectively, which were shorter than those in NCs (P < 0.01, P < 0.002, P < 0.0001, respectively). However, these ATs were significantly prolonged 1 week after B-RTO, with mean values of 18.7 ± 4.8, 23.8 ± 6.0, and 30.0 ± 7.2 s (P = 0.043, P < 0.01, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION Obliteration of GVs shifted the AT in LC patients to the normalization, raising the possibility of improvement of arterialization and intrahepatic shunt.

Abstract
PURPOSE Measurement of spleen stiffness (SS) using ultrasound (US) elastography is useful for predicting portal hypertension. However, the mechanism leading to increased SS remains unclear. We jointly developed a new US elastography system (Aplio i-series, Canon Medical Systems) that can easily measure organ viscosity (dispersion slope: DS). We analyzed the cause of increased SS by calculating the shear wave speed (SWs, which reflects fibrosis) and DS of the spleen in carbon tetrachloride (CCL4) rat liver cirrhosis models. METHODS A total of 13 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups (C group: 3 rats as control, 2D group: 3 rats injected with CCL4 twice in 1 week, 4D group: 4 rats injected 4 times in 1 week, 6W group: 3 rats injected twice a week for 6 weeks). The SWs and the DS of each group were calculated, and histopathological analysis was performed. RESULTS The spleen SWs of the 6W group was significantly higher than that of the C group (p = 0.044). The spleen DS did not change after CCL4. The liver SWs of the 4D and 6W groups was significantly higher than that of the C group (p = 0.012 and 0.007, respectively) with fibrosis change on histopathology, and the DS of the 4D group was significantly higher than that of the C group (p = 0.033). Splenic fibrosis was confirmed in the 6W group, but inflammation and necrosis were not seen. CONCLUSION SS increased due to fibrosis and can be predicted based on SWs and DS values.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Argon plasma coagulation (APC) is very useful as a consolidation treatment for reducing the recurrence of esophageal varices (EVs). However, repeated sedation in endoscopic treatment has the risk of prolonging hepatic encephalopathy and affects the respiratory state of liver cirrhosis (LC) patients, in whom pulmonary arteriovenous shunts are observed. We evaluated prospectively whether transnasal endoscopic APC without sedation is more effective than peroral endoscopic APC with sedation. PATIENTS AND METHODS LC patients (n = 101), treated by endoscopic injection sclerotherapy to eradicate EVs, were randomly divided into a transnasal APC group (n = 50) and a peroral APC group (n = 51). The primary efficacy endpoint was the cumulative recurrence rate of EVs. The secondary endpoints were blood pressure (BP), heart rate, oxygen saturation during APC and complications. RESULTS There was no significant difference in the cumulative recurrence rate of EVs at 36 months between the transnasal APC and peroral APC groups (35.0 vs. 40.8%, p = 0.39, log-rank test), indicating that transnasal APC is not inferior to peroral APC. The transnasal APC group showed more stable intraoperative BP and oxygen saturation values, and a lower incidence of epigastralgia (56.0 vs. 74.5%, p = 0.04). CONCLUSION The efficacy of reducing the recurrence of EVs in the transnasal APC group was not significantly different from that in the peroral APC group. Transnasal APC caused less distress and required no sedation. Therefore, this method was more advantageous for LC patients at risk of suffering from prolongation of hepatic encephalopathy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lusutrombopag effectively increases platelet count in patients with severe thrombocytopenia. However, no multicenter studies analyzing the effects of Lusutrombopag on patients with mild thrombocytopenia (platelet count > 50 000/µL) have been performed. In this study, we aimed to clarify the efficacy of Lusutrombopag on these patients by unifying background factors by propensity score matching. METHODS A total of 139 patients with thrombocytopenia were enrolled, and matched for age, sex, etiology, disease, treatment, liver function, renal function, peripheral blood count, and spleen index. The primary endpoint was to compare the increase in platelet count from baseline between the high-platelet group (>50 000/µL) and the low-platelet group (<50 000/µL) after Lusutrombopag treatment, using propensity score matching. The secondary endpoint was to clarify platelet transfusion avoidance rate and adverse events, moreover, to identify independent predictors associated with the increase in platelet count. RESULTS The mean increase in platelet count was 67 000/μL vs 48 000/μL in all patients (high- vs low-platelet group, P = .024), and 64 000/μL vs 48 000/μL (P = .12) after propensity score matching. The increase in platelet count and the platelet transfusion avoidance rate tended to be higher in the high-platelet group. There was no significant difference between adverse events. Predictors associated with an increase in platelet count were sex, estimated glomerular filtration rate, and spleen index by multivariate analysis. CONCLUSION Lusutrombopag has a little stronger effect in patients with mild thrombocytopenia than those with severe thrombocytopenia and showed a more substantial effect in patients with impaired renal function and small spleen.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The incidence of alcoholic liver cirrhosis (ALC) is increasing. However, few reports have focused on ALC-derived esophageal varices (EV). We retrospectively examined differences in overall survival (OS) and EV recurrence rate in patients after endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS) for ALC and hepatic B/C virus liver cirrhosis (B/C-LC). METHODS We analyzed data from 215 patients (B/C-LC, 147; ALC, 68) who underwent EIS. The primary endpoints were OS and EV recurrence in patients with unsuccessful abstinence ALC and those with uncontrolled B/C-LC, before and after propensity score matching (PSM) to unify the patients' background. The secondary endpoints were predictors associated with these factors, as determined by multivariate analysis. RESULTS The observation period was 1,430 ± 1,363 days. In the analysis of all patients, OS was significantly higher in the ALC group than in the B/C-LC group (p = 0.039); however, there was no difference in EV recurrence rate (p = 0.502). Ascites and history of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (p = 0.019 and p < 0.001, respectively) predicted OS, whereas age and EV size predicted recurrence (p = 0.011 and 0.024, respectively). In total, 96 patients without an HCC history were matched by PSM, and there was no significant difference in OS or EV recurrence rate (p = 0.508 and 0.246, respectively). CONCLUSION When limited to patients without a history of HCC, OS and the EV recurrence rate were comparable in patients with ALC who continued to consume alcohol and those with B/C-LC without viral control.

Abstract
Objective Direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs) can eliminate hepatitis C virus at a high rate, although the long-term incidence of portal hypertension and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not yet been elucidated. In this observational study, we clarified the predictors associated with the incidence of esophageal varices (EVs) and HCC after DAAs treatment based on ultrasound findings and blood examinations. Methods A total of 78 patients treated with DAAs were enrolled in this study. The primary endpoint was to identify the predictors associated with EVs and HCC occurrence using univariate and multivariate analyses. Secondary endpoints were to extract the cutoff values for EVs and HCC occurrence and clarify the changes in liver stiffness (LS), spleen stiffness (SS), spleen index (SI), portal venous flow volume (PVF), and blood examination at 12 weeks after the end of DAAs treatment. Results The mean observation period was 1,402±546 days. SI change (SI after DAAs-SI before DAAs) was a predictor of EVs occurrence in multivariate analysis (p=0.045). The treatment history of HCC, albumin value before DAAs, and SI change were predictors of HCC occurrence in multivariate analysis (p=0.002, p=0.032, and p=0.009, respectively). LS, SS, PVF, SI, and liver function significantly improved after DAAs treatment. Conclusion Portal hypertension seems to improve after DAAs treatment over a long period. Patients with splenomegaly deterioration after DAAs treatment need to be carefully monitored for the occurrence of EVs and HCC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (BRTO) is an effective treatment for gastric varices, but predictors associated with overall survival rate (OS) and occurrence of esophagogastric varices (EGV) have not yet been clarified. In this study, we clarified these predictors by performing ultrasound elastography and blood tests at various time points. METHODS A total of 34 patients were enrolled. The primary endpoint was to identify predictors associated with OS and EGV occurrence by univariate and multivariate analyses. Secondary endpoints were to extract the cut-off values for OS and EGV occurrence, and to clarify chronological changes in liver stiffness (LS), spleen stiffness (SS), spleen index (SI), and portal vein flow volume (PVF). Time points were set as before BRTO (Bf), and 1 day (D1), 7 days (D7), 1 month (1M), 3 months (3M), and 6 months (6M) after BRTO. RESULTS Albumin-bilirubin score Bf, fibrin-4 index change 6M, and branched chain amino acids tyrosine molar ratio (BTR) 1M were predictors of OS on univariate analysis (P = .021, .033, and .019, respectively) but were not extracted by multivariate analysis. The factors of LS 6M > 19.9 kPa and SS D7 > 21.7 kPa were predictors of the occurrence of EGV on multivariate analysis (P = .029 and .025, respectively). PVF significantly increased with time after BRTO. CONCLUSION Albumin-bilirubin score and BTR had the possibility to associate with OS, and the predictors of reduced occurrence of EGV were LS < 19.9 and SS < 21.7.
