Abstract
Background Surgical guiding templates provided a reliable way to transfer the simulation to the actual operation. However, there was no template designed for anterior segmental osteotomy so far. The study aimed to introduce and evaluate a set of 3D rapid prototyping surgical templates used in anterior segmental osteotomy. Material and Methods From August 2015 to August 2017, 17 patients with bimaxillary protrusions were recruited and occlusal-based multi-sectional templates were applied in the surgeries. The cephalometric analysis and 3D superimposition were performed to evaluate the differences between the simulations and actual post-operative outcomes. The patients were followed-up for 12 months to evaluate the incidence rate of complications and relapse. Results Bimaxillary protrusion was corrected in all patients with no complication. In radiographic evaluations, there was no statistically significant difference between the actual operations and the computer-aided 3D simulations (p >0.05, the mean linear and angular differences were less than 1.32mm and 1.72° consequently, and 3D superimposition difference was less than 1.4mm). The Pearson intraclass correlation coefficient reliabilities were high (0.897), and the correlations were highly significant (P< 0.001). Conclusions The 3D printed surgical template designed in this study can safely and accurately transfer the computer-aided 3D simulation into real practice. Abstract
Rationale: Antiretroviral therapy can effectively suppress HIV-1 replication in the peripheral blood to an undetectable level. However, elimination of the latent virus in reservoirs remains a challenge and is a major obstacle in the treatment of HIV-1-infected patients. Exosomes exhibit huge promise as an endogenous drug delivery nanosystem for delivering drugs to solid tissues given their unique properties, including low immunogenicity, innate stability, high delivery efficiency, and most importantly the ability to penetrate solid tissues due to their lipophilic properties. Methods: We engineered and expressed the scFv of a high affinity HIV-1-specific monoclonal antibody, 10E8, on the exosomal surface (10E8scFv-exos). Subsequently, the 10E8scFv-exos were loaded with curcumin (Cur), a chemical that kills HIV-1-infected cells, or miR-143, an apoptosis-inducing miRNA. We tested the ability of 10E8scFv-exos to deliver cargo to Env+ target cells and tissues, as well as their ability to suppress HIV-1 infection. Results: 10E8scFv-exos efficiently targeted CHO cells expressing a trimeric gp140 on their surface (Env+ cells) in vitro, as demonstrated by confocal imaging and flow cytometry. 10E8scFv-exos loaded with Cur or miR-143 showed specific killing of Env+ cells. In addition, 10E8scFv-exos loaded with Cur or miR-143 could suppress p24 expression in an HIV-1 latency cell line ACH2 and in PBMCs from an ART-treated HIV-1-infected patient. In an NCG mouse model grafted with tumorigenic Env+ CHO cells and which had developed solid tissue tumors, intravenously injected 10E8scFv-exos targeted the Env-expressing tissues and delivered Cur to induce a strong suppression of the Env+ tumor growth with low toxicity. Conclusion: In principle, engineered exosomes can deliver anti-HIV agents to solid tissues by specifically targeting cells expressing viral envelop proteins and inducing cell killing, suggesting that such an approach could be developed for eradicating virus-infected cells in tissue reservoirs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) is a profibrotic cytokine which induces mesothelial cell mesothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (MMT) and peritoneal fibrosis in patients receiving treatment of peritoneal dialysis. Because thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) is able to activate latent TGF-β1 in vivo, we investigated whether blockade of TSP-1 could modulate mesothelial cell MMT and ameliorate peritoneal fibrosis. METHODS Human pleural mesothelial cells (Met-5A cells) were treated with TSP-1 and addition of TGF-β1 neutralizing antibody to assess the effect of TSP-1 on MMT. Furthermore, TSP-1 blocking peptide Leu-Ser-Lys-Leu (LSKL) was applied to Met-5A cells treated with 4.25% d-glucose to determine its function in high glucose-induced MMT. Consequently, a uremic dialysate injection rat model was set up to confirm the results in vivo. RESULTS Exposure of Met-5A cells to TSP-1 increased TGF-β1 secretion, expression and bioactivity, triggered Smad3 phosphorylation, upregulated the expression of mesenchymal molecules including fibronectin, collagen type III, α-smooth muscle actin, Snail, and decreased calretinin expression. The effect was partially attenuated by TGF-β1 neutralizing antibody. TSP-1 expression in Met-5A cells was increased by 4.25% d-glucose, followed by increased secretion and bioactivity of TGF-β1, the onset of Smad3 phosphorylation and induction of MMT. LSKL significantly attenuated high glucose-mediated mesothelial cell MMT and ameliorated peritoneal fibrosis in uremic rats receiving dextrose dialysate injection. CONCLUSIONS Taken together, these data demonstrated that TSP-1 contributes to mesothelial cell MMT by activating TGF-β1/Smad3 signaling pathway and blockade of TSP-1 attenuates high glucose-mediated mesothelial cell MMT and peritoneal fibrosis.

Abstract
AIM Studies showed an increased visceral adipose tissue and peritoneal angiogenesis in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. However, the relationship between the visceral adipose expands and peritoneal angiogenesis remains unclear. METHODS Pref-1 (preadipocyte factor-1) recombinant adeno-associated virus (AAV) and control AAV were constructed. Mice were divided into four groups, mice in control and PD group were injected intraperitoneally with PBS, mice in control-AAV-PD were injected intraperitoneally with plaque-forming unit (PFU) control AAV and mice in pref-1-AAV-PD group were injected with PFU recombinant AAV. Two weeks later, control group was injected intraperitoneally with normal saline while other groups were injected intraperitoneally with 4.25% peritoneal dialysis fluid (PDF). Thirty days later, viscerall adipose tissue was collected and weighed. Pref-1 protein expression was measured by Western blot, and peritoneal permeability was measured by Evans blue. Cluster of differentiation 31(CD31) immunohistochemical staining was used to detect mesenteric blood vessel number, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in serum were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS Pref-1 protein expression increased in pref-1-AAV-PD group. Visceral adipose expanded in PD and control-AAV-PD group while decreased in pref-1-AAV-PD group, which approves PD fluid enhance visceral adipogensis, and the process could be inhibited by Pref-1 recombinant AAV. The reduction of peritoneal vessel number and the decrease of vascular permeability as well as down-regulation of serum vascular endothelial growth factor observed in pref-1-AAV-PD group suggested peritoneal angiogenesis could be inhibited following visceral adipose tissue reduction. CONCLUSION Visceral adipose expands is associated with peritoneal angiogenesis in PD treatment, and prevention of visceral adipogenesis may be an alternative way to protect the validity of peritoneum. Abstract
Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) occurs in more than 30% of patients after intravenous iodinated contrast media and causes serious complications, including renal failure and mortality. Recent research has demonstrated that routine antioxidant and alkaline therapy failed to show benefits in CI-AKI patients with high risk for renal complications. Mitophagy is a mechanism of selective autophagy, which controls mitochondrial quality and mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) through degradation of damaged mitochondria. The role of mitophagy and its regulation of apoptosis in CI-AKI are poorly understood. In this study, we demonstrated that mitophagy was induced in renal tubular epithelial cells (RTECs) during CI-AKI, both in vivo and in vitro. Meanwhile, contrast media-induced mitophagy was abolished when silencing PINK1 or PARK2 (Parkin), indicating a dominant role of the PINK1-Parkin pathway in mitophagy. Moreover, mitochondrial damage, mitochondrial ROS, RTEC apoptosis, and renal injury under contrast exposure were more severe in PINK1- or PARK2-deficient cells and mice than in wild-type groups. Functionally, PINK1-Parkin-mediated mitophagy prevented RTEC apoptosis and tissue damage in CI-AKI through reducing mitochondrial ROS and subsequent NLRP3 inflammasome activation. These results demonstrated that PINK1-Parkin-mediated mitophagy played a protective role in CI-AKI by reducing NLRP3 inflammasome activation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Researches have indicated that microRNA-506-3p (miR-506-3p) was downregulated and functioned as tumor suppressor in cancers. However, the biological role of miR-506-3p in prostate cancer (PCa) remains to be elucidated. MATERIALS AND METHODS Expression of miR-506-3p in PCa cell lines was measured by qRT-PCR. Effects of miR-506-3p expression on PCa cell behaviors were investigated with MTT assay, colony formation assay, and transwell invasion assay. Connection of miR-506-3p and N-Acetylgalactosaminyltransferase-4 (GALNT4) was analyzed with luciferase activity reporter assay and Western blot assay. RESULTS miR-506-3p expression was downregulated in PCa cell lines. Function studies demonstrated that overexpression of miR-506-3p inhibits PCa tumor progression in vitro. Mechanistic investigations found GALNT4 was a direct target of miR-506-3p. Overexpression of GALNT4 reversed the tumor-suppressive effects of miR-506-3p on PCa cell. CONCLUSIONS Our results elucidated genetic silencing of miR-506-3p enhances GALNT4 oncogene expression to accelerate PCa progression.

Abstract
Acidovorax citrulli is a gram-negative bacterium that infects a wide range of cucurbits causing bacterial fruit blotch (BFB) disease. Copper-based compounds are the most widely-used chemicals for managing BFB and other bacterial diseases in the field. Many bacteria can enter a viable but non-culturable (VBNC) state in response to stress, including exposure to copper, and recover the culturability when favorable conditions return. The present study demonstrates that A. citrulli strain AAC00-1 is able to enter into the VBNC state by treatment with different concentrations of copper sulfate. It took 3 h, 5 and 15 days for all viable cells to lose culturability upon exposure to copper sulfate concentrations of 50, 10, and 5 μM, respectively. The VBNC A. citrulli cells regained culturability when the Cu2+ ions were removed by chelation with EDTA or by transfer of cells to LB broth, a cell-free supernatant from a suspension of AAC00-1, oligotrophic media amended with casein hydrolysate or watermelon seedling juice. We also found that the VBNC cells induced by Cu2+ were unable to colonize or infect watermelon seedlings directly, but the resuscitated cells recovered full virulence equivalent to untreated bacterial cells in the log phase. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the VBNC state in A. citrulli and the factors that facilitate resuscitation and restoration of pathogenicity.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical factors affecting the survival prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma, and to establish a predictive model of survival prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma by artificial neural network.Download the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) database for lung adenocarcinoma research data, perform cox regression analysis and descriptive statistics on the obtained clinical data, draw the survival curve by Kaplan-Meier method, select the independent variables that are statistically significant for constructing the artificial neural networks (ANN) model, and establish artificial neural network model.The number of valid cases included in the study was 524, including 280 men and 244 women, with an age range of 33 to 88 years, mean age 66.87 years, and median progression-free survival (PFS) was 37.7 months. The median overall survival time (OS) was 41.1 months. Cox multivariate analysis showed that smoking history, tumor stage, and surgical margin resection status were independently associated with PFS, and tumor stage and surgical margin resection status were independently associated with OS. The accuracy of the established ANN model itself was predicted to be 65.8%. The accuracy of correctly predicting the prognosis of the predicted samples was 75.0%, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.712.The clinical prognostic factors of lung adenocarcinoma include: smoking history, tumor stage, and surgical margin resection status. The established ANN model can be used to predict the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma.

Abstract
A series of Ca2BO3Cl:Ce3+, Tb3+, Sm3+ are successfully synthesized by a high temperature solid state reaction. And the crystal structure, luminescence property and energy transfer mechanism of Ce3+/Sm3+, Tb3+/Sm3+ and Ce3+/Tb3+/Sm3+ in Ca2BO3Cl are investigated. There is an interesting phenomenon that the right side of the Ce3+ emission spectra in Ca2BO3Cl:Ce3+, Sm3+ compresses gradually with increasing the Sm3+ concentration. By means of refinement, it can be found that Sm3+ ions are mainly occupied in the Ca2 sites, because the cell of the Ca2 lattice is easily occupied. Then, the emission peak2 of Ce3+ in Ca2 sites occurs to blue shift. While the emission peak1 of Ce3+ in Ca1 sites is basically stability. However, the emission of Ce3+ in Ca2BO3Cl:Ce3+, Tb3+, Sm3+ have different changes with increasing the Sm3+ concentration that the emission peaks of Ce3+ shift to long wave at first then to short wave and the FWHM remains stability. This can be attributed to the existence of Tb3+. For the energy transfer mechanism, according to Dexter's energy transfer theory and Reisfeld's approximation, the energy transfer process of Ce3+/Sm3+ and Tb3+/Sm3+ should be the dipole-dipole interaction. And white emitting phosphor is achieved by the efficient energy transfer.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical effect and safety of entecavir capsules in the treatment of treatment-naïve HBeAg-positive patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Methods: A total of 158 HBeAg-positive CHB patients were given oral entecavir capsules at a dose of 0.5 mg/time once a day for 144 weeks. Clinical outcome and safety were evaluated at baseline and at 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, and 144 weeks of treatment respectively. The Fisher's exact test was used for the analysis of categorical data. Results: After 144 weeks of treatment, 90.91% of all patients achieved virologic response (< 69 IU/ml), the normalization rate of alanine aminotransferase was 88.18%, the clearance rate of HBeAg was 33.33%, and the seroconversion rate of HBeAg was 24.07%. Of all patients, 2 dropped out due to adverse events and 5 experienced serious adverse reactions. Conclusion: Entecavir capsules can inhibit viral replication and have good safety in treatment-naïve HBeAg-positive CHB patients.

Abstract
Aeromonas veronii is a conditional pathogen causing high mortality in many freshwater fish species worldwide. Bacterial ghosts are nonliving Gram-negative bacteria devoid of cytoplasmic contents, which induce protective immunity against microbial pathogens. The aims of this study were: a) to produce A. veronii ghost (AVG) constructed by PhiX174 gene E; b) to evaluate the specific, non-specific immune effects and protective immunity of AVG against A. veronii in koi. The lysis plasmid pBBR-E was constructed by cloning PhiX174 gene E into the broad-host-range vector pBBR1MCS2, and then transformed into A. veronii 7231. AVG was generated by increasing the incubation temperature up to 42 °C. Lysis of A. veronii occurred 3 h after temperature induction and completed in 12 h. The efficiency of ghost induction was 99.9998 ± 0.0002%. Koi were immunized intraperitoneally with AVG, formalin-killed bacteria (FKC) or phosphate buffered saline (PBS) respectively, and then respiratory burst (RB), myeloperoxidase (MPO), lysozyme (LZM), malondialdehyde (MDA), complement 3 (C3) and antibody activities were examined in serum. Compared with negative control of PBS, the RB, MPO, LZM activities were significantly higher in koi immunized with AVG (P < 0.05). Nevertheless, the MDA activities of AVG treatment were significantly lower than those of PBS treatment (P < 0.05). The serum agglutination titers and IgM antibody titers in AVG group were significantly higher than those in FKC or PBS groups. After challenged with the parent strain A. veronii 7231, the average mortality of AVG group was significantly lower than that of FKC and PBS groups (P < 0.05) and the relative percent survival (RPS) of AVG group (73.92%) was higher than that of FKC group (43.48%). Therefore, AVG have the potential to induce protective immunity and they may be ideal vaccine candidates against A. veronii in koi.

Abstract
Sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV) frequently causes dramatic losses in maize production as the main pathogen of maize dwarf mosaic disease. It is important to understand the translational responses in maize to SCMV infection since viruses have to recruit host translation apparatus to express their proteins. However, due to technical limitations, research on virus translation lags far behind that on transcription. Here, we studied the relationship between systemic symptom expression and virus accumulation and found that both SCMV RNA and proteins accumulated rapidly during the systemic infection process in which varying degrees of chlorosis to mosaic symptoms developed on non-inoculated leaves. In addition, we applied ribosome profiling, which couples polysomal mRNA isolation with high-throughput sequencing, on the symptomatic leaves infected with SCMV to unravel the translational responses of maize to viral infection on a genome-wide scale. The results showed that only the genomic positive-stranded RNA of SCMV was involved in translation, and SCMV only occupied a small amount of translational resources of host plant at the early stage of infection. Further analyses on a global gene expression and gene ontology (GO) enrichment revealed that photosynthesis and metabolism were dramatically repressed at both transcriptional and translational levels. Altogether, our results laid a foundation for dissecting the molecular mechanism of plant translational responses to viral infection.

Abstract
Due to high volatility and water solubility, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) can easily enter into the atmosphere and water bodies by volatilization, drift, leaching, or runoff, which results in potential threats to the environment and human health. The physicochemical properties of pesticides can be regulated by preparing their ionic liquids. In this work, a series of dicationic ionic liquids (DILs) of 2,4-D were prepared to reduce its environmental risk and enhance herbicidal activity. The solubility, octanol-water partition coefficient, surface tension, and volatilization rate results of DILs showed that these properties could be optimized by choosing appropriate countercations. Compared to 2,4-D ammonium salt, DILs have lower volatility, water solubility, and surface tension as well as higher lipophilicity. Benefiting from optimized physicochemical properties, DILs HIL8-12 exhibited better herbicidal activity against three typical broadleaf weeds than 2,4-D ammonium salt, and their fresh weight inhibition rates increased by 2.74-46.84%. The safety assessment experiment indicated that DILs were safer to wheat than commercialized forms of 2,4-D. The DILs could reduce the environmental risk of 2,4-D caused by high volatility and water solubility and would be potential alternatives to its commercialized formulations.

Abstract
Cronkhite-Canada's syndrome (CCS) is a rare clinical entity of unknown etiology and has a poor prognosis. It is characterized by gastrointestinal polyposis with ectodermal changes. Main clinical manifestations include diarrhea and diffuse gastrointestinal polyposis, accompanied by skin pigmentation, alopecia, and nail changes. Here we report a case of CCS and performed a literature review.
