Abstract
Erythrokeratodermia variabilis (EKV) is an autosomal dominant keratinization disorder characterized by migratory erythematous lesions and fixed keratotic plaques. All families with EKV show mapping to chromosome 1p34-p35, and mutations in the gene for connexin 31 (Cx31) have been reported in some but not all families. We studied eight affected and three healthy subjects in an Israeli family, of Kurdish origin, with EKV. After having mapped the disorder to chromosome 1p34-p35, we found no mutations in the genes for Cx31, Cx31.1, and Cx37. Further investigation revealed a heterozygous T-->C transition leading to the missense mutation (F137L) in the human gene for Cx30.3 that colocalizes on chromosome 1p34-p35. This nucleotide change cosegregated with the disease and was not found in 200 alleles from normal individuals. This mutation concerns a highly conserved phenylalanine, in the third transmembrane region of the Cx30.3 molecule, known to be implicated in the wall formation of the gap-junction pore. Our results show that mutations in the gene for Cx30.3 can be causally involved in EKV and point to genetic heterogeneity of this disorder. Furthermore, we suggest that our family presents a new type of EKV because of the hitherto unreported association with erythema gyratum repens.

Abstract
We analyze the phase-space structure of a model for thermoreceptors in fish and mammals. As a function of the temperature we identify a period doubling scenario at low temperatures, a regime where an unstable stationary fixed point collides with the attractor and blocks the thermoreceptor, and a transition from period n+1 to period n as the temperature is further increased. The period reduction phenomenon is due to an autoresonance between fast and slow ion channels and shows the features typical for mode locking.

Abstract
The epidermal cornified cell envelope (CE) is a complex protein-lipid composite that replaces the plasma membrane of terminally differentiated keratinocytes. This lamellar structure is essential for the barrier function of the skin and has the ability to prevent the loss of water and ions and to protect from environmental hazards. The major protein of the epidermal CE is loricrin, contributing approximately 70% by mass. We have generated mice that are deficient for this protein. These mice showed a delay in the formation of the skin barrier in embryonic development. At birth, homozygous mutant mice weighed less than control littermates and showed skin abnormalities, such as congenital erythroderma with a shiny, translucent skin. Tape stripping experiments suggested that the stratum corneum stability was reduced in newborn Lor(-/-) mice compared with wild-type controls. Isolated mutant CEs were more easily fragmented by sonication in vitro, indicating a greater susceptibility to mechanical stress. Nevertheless, we did not detect impaired epidermal barrier function in these mice. Surprisingly, the skin phenotype disappeared 4-5 d after birth. At least one of the compensatory mechanisms preventing a more severe skin phenotype in newborn Lor(-/-) mice is an increase in the expression of other CE components, such as SPRRP2D and SPRRP2H, members of the family of "small proline rich proteins", and repetin, a member of the "fused gene" subgroup of the S100 gene family.

Abstract
Clinical magnetic resonance imaging of articular cartilage is possible by using techniques that offer high contrast between articular cartilage and adjacent structures in reasonable examination times. The fat-suppressed, three-dimensional, spoiled gradient-echo sequence has been reported to be accurate and reliable, and the addition of this sequence to a routine examination does not significantly compromise patient throughput. Fast spin-echo imaging also shows promise in the clinical evaluation of articular cartilage, because the newer, stronger-gradient systems allow thinner slice acquisition with two-dimensional sequences. Together, these sequences allow the evaluation of intrachondral lesions and surface defects. Furthermore, quantitative measurements of cartilage volume for follow-up studies are possible with the use of the fat-suppressed, three-dimensional, spoiled gradient-echo sequence.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The formation of the cornified cell envelope (CE) during the late stages of epidermal differentiation is essential for epidermal barrier function and protects the body against environmental attack and water loss. Formation of the CE involves the replacement of the plasma membrane by cross-linkage of precursor proteins such as involucrin, small proline rich proteins (SPRR) and loricrin. In normal epidermis, SPRR1 is restricted to appendages, SPRR2 is also expressed in interfollicular areas, while SPRR3 is completely absent; the latter is most abundant in oral epithelium. This differential expression indicates an important part for SPRRs in specific barrier requirements, and reflects their importance in the biomechanical properties of the CE. OBJECTIVES We report here on the expression of SPRR1, SPRR2 and SPRR3 in a wide range of cutaneous neoplastic and inflammatory diseases. METHODS We used immunohistochemistry; in addition, Northern blot analysis of malignant tumours was performed. RESULTS Increased suprabasal expression of SPRR1 and SPRR2, but no SPRR3 expression, was noted in inflammatory dermatoses with orthokeratotic and parakeratotic squamous differentiation. By contrast, differentiating epidermal tumours such as Bowen's disease, keratoacanthoma and squamous cell carcinoma expressed SPRR3. CONCLUSIONS As SPRRs were originally cloned on the basis of their expression in ultraviolet light-irradiated keratinocytes, the expression of SPRR3 in actinic lesions is of interest, and might serve as a diagnostic tool.

Abstract
Articular cartilage serves as a load-bearing elastic material that is responsible for the frictionless movement of the surfaces of articulating joints. Its ability to undergo reversible deformation depends on its structural organization, including the specific arrangement of the matrix macromolecules and the chondrocytes. Interactions between the matrix and chondrocytes are responsible for the biological and mechanical properties of articular cartilage and enable it to respond by effecting a balance between anabolism and catabolism as well as continual internal remodeling. Age-related changes in the function of chondrocytes may contribute to the initiation and progression of osteoarthritis.

Abstract
We have studied the effects of hyperoxia and of cell loading with artificial lipofuscin or ceroid pigment on the postmitotic aging of human lung fibroblast cell cultures. Normobaric hyperoxia (40% oxygen) caused an irreversible senescence-like growth arrest after about 4 wk and shortened postmitotic life span from 1-1/2 years down to 3 months. During the first 8 wk of hyperoxia-induced 'aging', overall protein degradation (breakdown of [(35)S]methionine metabolically radiolabeled cell proteins) increased somewhat, but by 12 wk and thereafter overall proteolysis was significantly depressed. In contrast, protein synthesis rates were unaffected by 12 wk of hyperoxia. Lysosomal cathepsin-specific activity (using the fluorogenic substrate z-FR-MCA) and cytoplasmic proteasome-specific activity (measured with suc-LLVY-MCA) both declined by 80% or more over 12 wk. Hyperoxia also caused a remarkable increase in lipofuscin/ceroid formation and accumulation over 12 wk, as judged by both fluorescence measurements and FACscan methods. To test whether the association between lipofuscin/ceroid accumulation and decreased proteolysis might be causal, we next exposed cells to lipofuscin/ceroid loading under normoxic conditions. Lipofuscin/ceroid-loaded cells indeed exhibited a gradual decrease in overall protein degradation over 4 wk of treatment, whereas protein synthesis was unaffected. Proteasome specific activity decreased by 25% over this period, which is important since proteasome is normally responsible for degrading oxidized cell proteins. In contrast, an apparent increase in lysosomal cathepsin activity was actually caused by a large increase in the number of lysosomes per cell. To test whether lipofuscin/ceroid could in fact directly inhibit proteasome activity, thus causing oxidized proteins to accumulate, we incubated purified proteasome with lipofuscin/ceroid preparations in vitro. We found that proteasome is directly inhibited by lipofuscin/ceroid. Our results indicate that an accumulation of oxidized proteins (and lipids) such as lipofuscin/ceroid may actually cause further increases in damage accumulation during aging by inhibiting the proteasome.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a capillary zone electrophoretic (CE) procedure for the accurate quantification of the UDP-hexosamines as well as for the corresponding UDP-hexoses in samples from various biological origins. Testing different buffer conditions, voltages, capillary dimensions and temperatures, optimal results were achieved with a 90 mM borate buffer, pH 9.0, at 18 degrees C and 15.5 kV in an uncoated fused-silica capillary of 50 cm x 50 microm and a detection wavelength of lambda = 262 nm. The total procedure, i.e., including variations of the sample preparation, showed coefficients of variation for the peak areas between 4. 1% and 10.4% in mesangial cells (n = 7) and between 7.8 and 10.3% (n = 6) in leukocytes for the components of interest. To improve precision, an internal standard was used for calibration. The limit of detection for all compounds is an absolute amount of 180 fmol, sufficient for the precise analysis of UDP-sugars in a limited amount of biological samples, such as human leukocytes (obtained from a 10 mL blood sample), muscle biopsies (< or = 100 mg), and mesangial kidney cells (ca. 2.5 x 10(5) cells). This reproducible, quantitative analysis of all four UDP-sugars from various biomedically relevant origins by CZE is a definite improvement over the generally used high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) procedures. The CZE method allows the study of the flux through the hexosamine pathway in diabetes mellitus and other diseases in a simple, quantitative and accurate way.

Abstract
Pulmonary and mediastinal glomus tumors are rare lesions, with four previously reported primary pulmonary cases and three mediastinal cases. The authors report one mediastinal glomus tumor, a locally infiltrative type, and four pulmonary glomus tumors, including the first case of primary pulmonary glomangiosarcoma. These tumors show a variety of clinical and pathologic differences from the more common cutaneous variety, including later age at presentation, larger size, and more frequent atypical/malignant features. Mediastinal and pulmonary glomus tumors both have an average patient age at presentation of 45 years. However, compared with their pulmonary counterparts, mediastinal glomus tumors are less common, more often symptomatic, and are larger (average size, 5.4 cm). Additionally, mediastinal glomus tumors more often demonstrate malignant or atypical features. Pulmonary glomus tumors average 3.3 cm in greatest dimension, with the majority measuring less than 2.5 cm. The pulmonary glomangiosarcoma presented was large, measuring 9.5 cm, and showed increased mitotic count (9 mitoses/10 high-power fields), necrosis, cytologic atypia, and was associated with disseminated disease. Regardless of clinical symptoms, histologic features, and even metastases, the vast majority of all benign and malignant glomus tumors are indolent and cured surgically, with adjuvant therapy needed only for occasional patients with more advanced disease. The four patients with glomus tumors reported are currently alive and free of disease as of last follow up. The patient with the glomangiosarcoma developed widespread metastases and died of disease 68 weeks after initial therapy.

Abstract
Thapsigargin, which elevates cytosolic calcium levels by inhibiting the sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium-dependent ATPase, was tested for its ability to degranulate bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMCs) from src homology 2-containing inositol phosphatase +/+ (SHIP+/+) and SHIP-/- mice. As was found previously with steel factor, thapsigargin stimulated far more degranulation in SHIP-/- than in SHIP+/+ BMMCs, and this was blocked with the phosphatidylinositol-3 (PI-3) kinase inhibitors, LY294002 and wortmannin. In contrast to steel factor, however, this heightened degranulation of SHIP-/- BMMCs was not due to a greater calcium influx into these cells, nor was the thapsigargin-induced calcium influx inhibited by LY294002, suggesting that the heightened thapsigargin-induced degranulation of SHIP-/- BMMCs was due to a PI-3 kinase-regulated step distinct from that regulating calcium entry. An investigation of thapsigargin-stimulated pathways in both cell types revealed that MAPK was heavily but equally phosphorylated. Interestingly, the protein kinase C inhibitor, bisindolylmaleimide (compound 3), totally blocked thapsigargin-induced degranulation in both SHIP+/+ and SHIP-/- BMMCs. As well, thapsigargin stimulated a PI-3 kinase-dependent, transient activation of protein kinase B, and this activation was far greater in SHIP-/- than in SHIP+/+ BMMCs. Consistent with this, thapsigargin was found to be a potent survival factor, following cytokine withdrawal, for both cell types and was more potent with SHIP-/- cells. These studies have both identified an additional PI-3 kinase-dependent step within the mast cell degranulation process, possibly involving 3-phosphoinositide-dependent protein kinase-1 and a diacylglycerol-independent protein kinase C isoform, and shown that the tumor-promoting activity of thapsigargin may be due to its activation of protein kinase B and subsequent promotion of cell survival.

Abstract
The role of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PI3,4,5P(3)) and Btk in signalling by the collagen receptor glycoprotein VI was investigated. PI3,4,5P(3) was increased in platelets from mice deficient in the SH2 domain-containing inositol 5-phosphatase (SHIP), in response to collagen related peptide (CRP). Tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of phospholipase Cgamma2 (PLCgamma2) were unaltered in SHIP(-/-) platelets, whereas Btk was heavily tyrosine phosphorylated under basal conditions and maximally phosphorylated by low concentrations of CRP. There was an increase in basal Ca(2+), maximal expression of P-selectin, and potentiation of Ca(2+) and aminophospholipid exposure to CRP in SHIP(-/-) platelets in the presence of Ca(2+) (1 mM). Microinjection of PI3,4, 5P(3) into megakaryocytes caused a 3-fold increase in Ca(2+) in response to CRP, which was absent in X-linked immunodeficiency (Xid) mice, which have a mutation in the PH domain of Btk. There was a corresponding partial reduction in the sustained level of intracellular Ca(2+) in response to CRP in Xid mice but no change in PLC activity. These results demonstrate a novel pathway of Ca(2+) entry that involves PI3,4,5P(3) and Btk, and which is independent of increased PLC activity.

Abstract
In 1997, 30% of the persons going into early retirement because of occupational disability and received pensions were psychosomatically ill. An additional large number of retirees suffered from untreatable pain such as chronic low back pain, some of them might as well have a chronic somatoform pain disorder. The article describes frequent psychosomatic diseases like somatization disorder, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome with respect to their pathophysiology and psychological aspects as well as therapeutic advancements. It is postulated that an interdisciplinary access to these patients early in the course of their illness involving both somatic medical and psychiatric competence is the most promising means to tackle this enormous medical and health protection problem.

Abstract
Enteroviruses of the Picornaviridae and primarily coxsackieviruses of group B (CVB) can be detected in humans and various experimental murine models of acute myocarditis and chronic heart muscle diseases indicating enterovirus persistence in the myocardium. Persistent myocardial infection is characterized by restricted viral replication and gene expression in myocytes capable of sustaining chronic inflammation. Viral cytotoxicity was found to be crucial for organ pathology both during acute and persistent infection. In-situ hybridization experiments at the cellular and subcellular level have demonstrated that virus replication is associated with severe structural changes of the cardiomyocyte cytoarchitecture at any stage of the disease. In tissue culture experiments and transgenic mice, it was shown that restricted replication and gene expression of the virus are capable of inducing myocytopathic effects. Investigations at the molecular level revealed that interference of coxsackievirus replication with the cellular metabolism is mediated by cleavage of host cell proteins by virus-encoded proteinases. Notably, there is also evidence that enteroviruses are able to activate specific cellular signal transduction pathways in the course of infection, thus promoting enteroviral replication. In summary, these data indicate that mutual influences of virus replication and subsequent modifications of the host cell metabolism are crucial for cardiac injury and dysfunction during acute and chronic disease.

Abstract
Various growth factors such as epidermal growth factor and keratinocyte growth factor have been reported to promote wound closure and epidermal regeneration. In the present study epidermis reconstructed on de-epidermized dermis was used to investigate the effects of epidermal growth factor and keratinocyte growth factor on keratinocyte proliferation, migration and differentiation. Our results show that epidermal growth factor supplemented cultures share many of the features which are observed during regeneration of wounded epidermis: a thickening of the entire epidermis, an enhanced rate of proliferation and migration, and an increase in keratin 6, keratin 16, skin-derived antileukoproteinase, involucrin and transglutaminase 1 expression. The increase in transglutaminase 1 protein is accompanied by an increase in the amount of active transglutaminase 1 enzyme. Surprisingly no increase in keratin 17 is observed. Prolonging the culture period for more than two weeks results in rapid senescence and aging of the cultures. In contrast, keratinocyte growth factor supplemented cultures have a tissue architecture that is similar to healthy native epidermis and remains unchanged for at least 4 weeks of air-exposure. The rate of proliferation and the expression of keratins 6, 16 and 17, skin-derived antileukoproteinase, involucrin and transglutaminase 1 is similar to that found in healthy epidermis and furthermore keratinocyte migration does not occur. When the culture medium is supplemented with a combination of keratinocyte growth factor and a low concentration of epidermal growth factor, skin-derived antileukoproteinase, involucrin and keratins 6, 16 and 17 expression is similar to that found in cultures supplemented with keratinocyte growth factor alone and in healthy epidermis. Only high transglutaminase 1 expression remains similar to that observed in cultures supplemented with epidermal growth factor alone. Our results show that the regulation of keratinocyte growth, migration and differentiation depends on the availability of these growth factors. Epidermal growth factor may play a dominant early role in wound healing by stimulating keratinocyte proliferation and migration while keratinocyte growth factor may play a role later in the repair process by stabilizing epidermal turnover and barrier function.

Abstract
Incomplete bone contact with threaded acetabular components is usually attributable to the tapered thread design and sclerotic bone, and might be the reason for early loosening. The self-tapping flat threads of the Hofer-Imhof cup allow accurate insertion without incarceration, even in sclerotic bone. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this threaded cup design based on digitized measurements of bone contact area, six Hofer-Imhof cups were implanted into three human cadavers. The bone contact area at the threads was digitally analyzed on cadaver-explanted cups cut into horizontal and coronal sections. In cups fixed with ideal form fit, bone contact was 31.6% (range 8-55%) at the threads and 28.5% (range 0-49%) between the threads on average. In cups with incomplete bone contact secondary to insufficient reaming, the bone contact area averaged 27.4% (range 10-44%) at the threads. In sclerotic bone, the highest bone contact at the threads was 69%. The threads were the first part of the cup to achieve primary bone contact. Factors contributing to poor contact were incomplete reaming, sections which passed through the incisura of the acetabulum, and incomplete contact with the medial aspect of the acetabulum. The aim was to achieve complete bone contact. Because of the higher contact areas observed in sclerotic bone, some sclerotic bone should remain after reaming.

Abstract
Efficient gene delivery to the skin is important for gene therapy of skin diseases and in-depth biologic studies of epidermis. In this report, we investigated three nonviral transfection systems for gene transfer in cultured human keratinocytes and organotypic cultures. SuperFect is a highly branched polycationic transfection reagent, PrimeFector a polycationic liposome compound, and the AVET (adenovirus-enhanced transferrin-mediated) system consists of a ternary complex of biotinylated chemically inactivated adenovirus noncovalently complexed with plasmid DNA and polylysine-transferrin. After AVET transfection of cultured keratinocytes with pCIbetagal, a CMV/beta-galactosidase reporter plasmid, 28.8% +/- 1.4% of the cells were stained blue. SuperFect was about 2-fold less efficient, whereas Primefector did not transfect keratinocytes. Similar results were obtained when transfection efficiencies were measured by enzyme assays. Addition of holotransferrin to the culture medium or replacement of polylysine-transferrin by polylysine in the ternary complex did not affect the transfection efficiency. Using AVET complexes without adenovirus, however, strongly diminished gene delivery. This indicates that the AVET complex is taken up by an adenovirus receptor. Separation of AVET/pCIbetagal transfected keratinocytes by adhesion to collagen IV into two fractions (rapidly and slowly adhering cells) showed that the latter were transfected at a 3-fold higher level. Therefore, it seems that putative stem cells adhering rapidly to collagen IV are not efficiently transfected by AVET. AVET-transfected keratinocytes derived from keratinocyte trans- glutaminase negative lamellar ichthyosis patients with a CMV-TGK expression plasmid showed that it is possible to reach a level of total enzyme activity similar to that found in cultured keratinocytes from normal individuals. In organotypic cultures from outer root sheath cells AVET transfection was not successful, which might be due to the presence of the cornified layer or inaccessibility of the adenovirus receptor. In summary, the AVET system provides a powerful tool for transient in vitro transfection of keratinocytes.

Abstract
RATIONALE Neuroactive steroids, including the potent anticonvulsants ganaxolone (3alpha-hydroxy-3beta-methyl-5alpha-pregnan-20-one) and Co 2-1068 (3beta-(4acetyl-phenyl)ethynyl-3alpha,21-dihydroxy-5beta+ ++-20-one-21-hemisuccinate), have recently been shown to protect against cocaine-induced seizures. OBJECTIVES The purpose of the present experiments was to determine whether ganaxolone and Co 2-1068 attenuate acute behavioral effects of cocaine unrelated to seizures. METHODS In the first experiment, the locomotor effects of Co 2-1068 (10-100 mg/ kg), pentobarbital (10-100 mg/kg) and haloperidol (0.03-0.3 mg/kg), alone or in combination with cocaine (5.6-30 mg/kg), were determined in mice. In the second experiment, the effects on sucrose intake of ganaxolone (4-16 mg/kg), Co 2-1068 (8-64 mg/kg), pentobarbital (4-32 mg/kg), and haloperidol (0.04-0.4 mg/kg), alone or in combination with cocaine (4-16 mg/kg), were determined in rats. RESULTS Cocaine caused a dose-related increase in locomotor activity in mice, whereas Co 2-1068, pentobarbital and haloperidol caused dose-related decreases. The dopamine antagonist haloperidol, at a dose that had no effect on activity by itself, but not Co 2-1068 or pentobarbital, attenuated the cocaine-induced increase in locomotor activity. Cocaine, ganaxolone, Co 2-1068, and haloperidol produced dose-related decreases in sucrose intake in rats; the effects of pentobarbital on sucrose intake were variable. As with locomotor effects, haloperidol attenuated the cocaine-induced decrease in sucrose intake. In addition, cocaine-induced decreases in sucrose intake were attenuated by ganaxolone and Co 2-1068. Pentobarbital had no statistically significant effect on the cocaine dose-response function. CONCLUSIONS These results suggest that the interaction of neuroactive steroids with cocaine extends to pharmacologic actions beyond anticonvulsant efficacy, but that the blockade of behavioral effects of cocaine by neuroactive steroids does not apply to all acute behaviors.

Abstract
The bacterial extract OM-89 used for the prevention and treatment of recurrent urinary tract infections constitutes an effective immunostimulant in vitro and in vivo. Here we demonstrate that OM-89 shows mitogenic properties towards murine spleen cell cultures from LPS responder and non-responder mice. In macrophages the extract induces the translocation of NF-kappaB into the cell nucleus and RNI (radical nitrogen intermediates) release, which could be attributed to single fractions of the extract. Our findings on the in vitro immunostimulatory effect of OM-89, as well as its immunogenic and adjuvant properties, are of importance for understanding its therapeutic efficacy as demonstrated in clinical studies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Are expecting parents prepared to change their lifestyle to benefit their unborn child? Do they see a need for more knowledge and competence to be good parents? What are the key expectations with respect to pregnancy, delivery conditions, and infant health care? To answer these questions, a study presented them to expecting and young parents in Germany. METHODS 123 delivery units were selected to represent the 1120 delivery facilities of Germany identified in 1997 from all accessible sources. 109 participated, and of 7862 distributed questionnaires 5900 (75%) were filled-in completely by parents. RESULTS Most parents (73%) expect information about pregnancy, birth and child health care in any instance. 25% would request information but only in problem situations. Preferred topics were prevention of diseases of the mother and her child (97%), intra-uterine development, preparation for delivery as well as breastfeeding, and nutrition of the infant (90% each). Although books had been the most frequent source of information, pediatricians, midwives, and gynecologists received the highest scores for satisfaction with their advice. The majority of expecting and new parents wished to get personal advice. For the choice of the delivery place, 59% had consulted friends and relatives, 43% their gynecologist. The most important criteria for their decision were high medical standards (95%), the hospital's attitude towards breast feeding and rooming-in (94% each), as well as the availability of neonatal care (89%). Also of prime interest were mother-child-contact immediately after delivery (99%), and well-rested personnel (96%). CONCLUSIONS Across social classes, most expecting and new parents see a need of a broad spectrum of topics in health information and education related to pregnancy, delivery and the expected infant. As far as delivery is concerned, most expect a perfect combination of modern medical care and safety on the one hand, and the undisturbed humane experience of the birth on the other.

Abstract
GOALS OF THE STUDY To analyse the short term results of 21 non cemented meniscal-bearing total ankle arthroplasties. MATERIAL AND METHODS [corrected] 21 ankle arthroplaties were performed in 21 patients with a mean age of 63.5 years. Diagnoses include primary and post-traumatic osteoarthritis. Our mean follow-up is 21 months. RESULTS We evaluated the patients with the Koefod ankle score. We present only the results of the patients whose follow-up exceed one year. Eleven patients had an excellent result, seven a good and two a medium result. One case was a failure and needed an arthrodesus. DISCUSSION The non-cemented meniscal-bearing ankle prosthesis leads to good relieve of pain and good function but fair improvement of the mobility. These first results are encouraging but definitive conclusions cannot be drawn yet.
