Abstract
The first measurement at the LHC of charge-dependent directed flow (v_{1}) relative to the spectator plane is presented for Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. Results are reported for charged hadrons and D^{0} mesons for the transverse momentum intervals p_{T}>0.2 GeV/c and 3<p_{T}<6 GeV/c in the 5%-40% and 10%-40% centrality classes, respectively. The difference between the positively and negatively charged hadron v_{1} has a positive slope as a function of pseudorapidity η, dΔv_{1}/dη=[1.68±0.49(stat)±0.41(syst)]×10^{-4}. The same measurement for D^{0} and D[over ¯]^{0} mesons yields a positive value dΔv_{1}/dη=[4.9±1.7(stat)±0.6(syst)]×10^{-1}, which is about 3 orders of magnitude larger than the one of the charged hadrons. These measurements can provide new insights into the effects of the strong electromagnetic field and the initial tilt of matter created in noncentral heavy ion collisions on the dynamics of light (u, d, and s) and heavy (c) quarks. The large difference between the observed Δv_{1} of charged hadrons and D^{0} mesons may reflect different sensitivity of the charm and light quarks to the early time dynamics of a heavy ion collision. These observations challenge some recent theoretical calculations, which predicted a negative and an order of magnitude smaller value of dΔv_{1}/dη for both light flavor and charmed hadrons.

Abstract
The first evidence of spin alignment of vector mesons (K^{*0} and ϕ) in heavy-ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is reported. The spin density matrix element ρ_{00} is measured at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy (sqrt[s_{NN}]) of 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector. ρ_{00} values are found to be less than 1/3 (1/3 implies no spin alignment) at low transverse momentum (p_{T}<2 GeV/c) for K^{*0} and ϕ at a level of 3σ and 2σ, respectively. No significant spin alignment is observed for the K_{S}^{0} meson (spin=0) in Pb-Pb collisions and for the vector mesons in pp collisions. The measured spin alignment is unexpectedly large but qualitatively consistent with the expectation from models which attribute it to a polarization of quarks in the presence of angular momentum in heavy-ion collisions and a subsequent hadronization by the process of recombination.

Abstract
No previous studies have evaluated the potential combined effects of acute exercise and acute hypoxia exposure on memory function, which was the purpose of this study. Twenty-five participants (Mage = 21.2 years) completed two laboratory visits in a counterbalanced order, involving 1) acute exercise (a 20-min bout of moderate-intensity exercise) and then 30 min of exposure to hypoxia (FIO2 = 0.12), and 2) exposure to hypoxia alone (FIO2 = 0.12) for 30 min. Following this, participants completed a cued-recall and memory interference task (AB/AC paradigm), assessing cued-recall memory (recall 1 and recall 2) and memory interference (proactive and retroactive interference). For cued-recall memory, we observed a significant main effect for condition, with Exercise + Hypoxia condition having significantly greater cued-recall performance than Hypoxia alone. Memory interference did not differ as a function of the experimental condition. This experiment demonstrates that engaging in an acute bout of exercise prior to acute hypoxia exposure had an additive effect in enhancing cued-recall memory performance.

Abstract
Background:EULAR/ACR 2019 SLE Classification Criteria were validated in an international cohort.Objectives:To evaluate performance characteristics of SLE classification systems in sex, race/ethnicity, and disease duration subsets.Methods:Sensitivity and specificity of the EULAR/ACR 2019, SLICC 2012 and ACR 1982/1997 criteria were evaluated in the validation cohort.Results:The cohort consisted of female (n=1098), male (n=172), Asian (n=118), Black (n=68), Hispanic (n=124) and White (n=941) patients; and patients with an SLE duration of 1-3 years (n=196), 3-5 years (n=157), and ≥5 years (n=879). Among patients with 1-3 years disease duration, the EULAR/ACR criteria had better sensitivity than the ACR criteria (97% (95%CI 92-99%) vs 81% (95%CI 72-88%). The new criteria performed well in men (sensitivity 93%, specificity 96%) and women (sensitivity 97%, specificity 94%). Abstract
Antibiotics are mandatory components of semen extenders for the control of bacterial contamination and growth. The increasing rate of worldwide resistance to conventional antibiotics in semen preservation media requires the development of new antimicrobial alternatives. This review provides an update on this topic and also highlights the improvement of hygiene in Artificial Insemination centers in order to prevent the development of bacterial resistance. Ideas are shared on future diagnostic tools for bacterial contamination in Artificial Breeding. Finally, new methods to remove or reduce bacteria in semen will be discussed.

Abstract
Cas9 has made a wide range of genomic manipulation possible. However, its specificity continues to be a challenge. Non-canonical gRNAs and new engineered variants of Cas9 have been developed to improve specificity, but at the cost of the on-target activity. DNA unwinding is a checkpoint before cleavage by Cas9, and was shown to be made more sensitive to sequence mismatches by specificity-enhancing mutations in engineered Cas9s. Here we performed single-molecule FRET-based DNA unwinding experiments using various combinations of non-canonical gRNAs and different Cas9s. All engineered Cas9s were less promiscuous than wild type when canonical gRNA was used, but HypaCas9 had much-reduced on-target unwinding. Cas9-HF1 and eCas9 showed the best balance between low promiscuity and high on-target activity with canonical gRNA. When extended gRNAs with one or two non-matching guanines added to the 5' end were used, Sniper1-Cas9 showed the lowest promiscuity while maintaining high on-target activity. Truncated gRNA generally reduced unwinding and adding a non-matching guanine to the 5' end of gRNA influenced unwinding in a sequence-context dependent manner. Our results are consistent with cell-based cleavage data and provide a mechanistic understanding of how various Cas9/gRNA combinations perform in genome engineering.

Abstract
Antibiotic agents such as gentamicin represent essential components of semen extenders in order to reduce bacterial contamination. But antibiotic resistance increases and AI centers start utilizing antibiotic agents which are more potent. Therefore, a shift to preventing bacterial contamination has to take place. In this study, we could demonstrate that hygiene is a tool capable of reducing bacterial load. In order to analyze 1434 extended semen samples and nine specially established hygienic critical control points (HCCPs, n = 828), 92 quality control audits have been carried out in a time period from 2012 until 2019 in 28 European AI centers. The results show the process of introducing a basic hygienic standard in audit 1 (2012/2013) and 2 (2014/2015) and the resulting achievements by means of improved hygienic conditions in audit 3 (2016/2017) and 4 (2018/2019). Within the scope of audit 1, 19% of the semen samples were contaminated with bacteria (cutoff ≥100 colony-forming units/mL). Audit 2 showed a bacterial load of 13.6% whereas during audit 3 and 4 very low bacterial contamination rates were recorded (4.5 and 5.5%, respectively). In the same manner, analysis of hygiene at different CCPs during semen production showed a decrease in all average HCCP-scores (score 1-6) comparing audit 4 to 1. By regression analysis we could show a significant audit-dependent association of the bacterial contamination in semen samples and hygiene of HCCPs. Furthermore, analysis of the odds ratio (OR) reveals that the bacterial contamination of certain HCCPs poses an increased risk of receiving bacterially contaminated semen samples (filling machine: OR = 3.02, P = 0.06; extender: OR = 8.97, P < 0.001; inner face of dilution tank lids: OR = 3.14, P = 0.09). Around 60% of the variance of the bacterial contamination in semen samples could be explained by hygienic conditions at different control points and their interaction with audit period and AI center. Antimicrobial agents are essential to protect human and animal health but excessive or inappropriate use can lead to the emergence of resistant bacteria. As shown in our study, hygiene management can significantly reduce bacterial contamination and is therefore capable of preventing antibiotic resistance.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The International Council of Nurses supports the development of International Classification for Nursing Practice® (ICNP®) catalogues to support the construction of electronic health records and evidence-based practice. Such a catalogue is needed for inpatient falls. METHODS The ICNP®-Based Inpatient Fall-Prevention Catalogue ('The Catalogue') was developed following the six steps recommended by the International Council of Nurses: (1) identifying inpatient falls as a priority, (2) gathering relevant concepts from 10 international guidelines and comparing locally defined sets of fall-prevention terms, (3) mapping the concepts to the ICNP® terminology, (4) identifying new concepts, (5) conducting a clinical face validation with a 12-member panel and finalizing The Catalogue and (6) setting a strategy for dissemination. The high-level structure of the International Classification for Patient Safety was used as a theoretical framework. RESULTS Eighteen nursing care elements and 141 terms were identified. A local vocabulary set had 89 terms (63.1%) that all corresponded to the identified terms. The exact and post-coordination mapping rates to the ICNP® were 75% and 40.6% for assessment/diagnosis/outcomes and interventions, respectively. The 54 new terms corresponded to 52 primitive concepts. An external review of The Catalogue showed that it had adequate understandability and validity. However, one-third of assessments/diagnoses/outcomes and one-fourth of interventions were not found in a tertiary hospital practice. CONCLUSION A fall-prevention catalogue has been developed based on evidence and a theoretical framework and also clinically validated. IMPLICATION FOR NURSING AND HEALTH POLICY The Catalogue is a standardized interface terminology and content subset in any electronic health records system that can directly deliver evidence on fall prevention. It can also be used as an informatics tool to aggregate, analyse, interpret and compare nursing data worldwide.

Abstract
Photonic crystals are commonly implemented in media with periodically varying optical properties. Photonic crystals enable exquisite control of light propagation in integrated optical circuits, and also emulate advanced physical concepts. However, common photonic crystals are unfit for in-operando on/off controls. We overcome this limitation and demonstrate a broadly tunable two-dimensional photonic crystal for surface plasmon polaritons. Our platform consists of a continuous graphene monolayer integrated in a back-gated platform with nano-structured gate insulators. Infrared nano-imaging reveals the formation of a photonic bandgap and strong modulation of the local plasmonic density of states that can be turned on/off or gradually tuned by the applied gate voltage. We also implement an artificial domain wall which supports highly confined one-dimensional plasmonic modes. Our electrostatically-tunable photonic crystals are derived from standard metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor technology and pave a way for practical on-chip light manipulation. Traditional photonic crystals consist of periodic media with a pre-defined optical response. Here, the authors combine nanostructured back-gate insulators with a continuous layer of graphene to demonstrate an electrically tunable two-dimensional photonic crystal suitable for controlling the propagation of surface plasmon polaritons.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Approximately 10–25% of ischemic strokes are of unknown origin. Determining their potential association with subclinical atrial fibrillation (SCAF) is important for proper secondary prevention. We investigated whether SCAF can be predicted by assessing the atrial substrate with signal-averaged electrocardiography (SAECG).
Methods
Between April 2015 and February 2018, we recruited 125 consecutive patients with embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) and 125 patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) patients as control. All participants underwent P wave SAECG at baseline and ESUS patients were followed up with ECG and Holter ECG, at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months after discharge, and every 12 months thereafter.
Results
In the ESUS group (69 males, 68.4±12.1 years), 32 (25.6%) patients were diagnosed with SCAF during follow-up. There were no significant differences between both groups in terms of P wave duration [PWD] (ESUS vs. AF, P=0.321). PWD demonstrated a significant predictive efficacy for SCAF detection during follow-up (C-index of standard PWD=0.657, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.552–0.761, P=0.008).
Stroke recurrence occurred in 22 patients (17.6%) and was significantly associated with PWD but not SCAF (odds ratio 2.756, 95% CI 1.061–7.161, P=0.037).
Conclusion
PWD, an ECG biomarker associated with atrial substrate directly contributes to AF and ESUS, is useful for predicting SCAF. The potential for using this simple ECG biomarker for screening for SCAF amongst ESUS patients merits further exploration.

The thumb has a crucial role in the hand due to its position with regard to the fingers. The CMC-1 joint enables an extraordinary range of motion, since its geometry allows for opposition. The former joint may often succumb to osteoarthritis because a great range of motion in combination with large forces, small contact areas, and thorough usage are always present. Joint replacement is challenged by the great range of motion based on the necessary joint stability and the demand for sufficient pain reduction. This review highlights the anatomy of the CMC-1 joint with regard to joint preplacement solutions.

Abstract
Several guidelines recommend specific treatments for endoscopes, procedures of quarantine for endoscopes, or additional treatments for the endoscope washer disinfector (EWD) in suspected or confirmed cases of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) or variant CJD (vCJD) but vary in many details. This study therefore reviewed guidelines on reprocessing flexible endoscopes after use in patients with suspected or confirmed prion disease. In addition, a literature search was performed in Medline on prion, CJD, vCJD, chemical inactivation, transmission healthcare, epidemiology healthcare, concentration tissue human and endoscope. Thus far, no case of CJD or vCJD transmitted by flexible endoscope has been reported. In animals it has been shown that oral uptake of 0.1-5 g of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE)-infected brain homogenate is necessary for transmission. The maximum prion concentration in other tissues (e.g., terminal ileum) is at least 100-fold lower. Automated cleaning of endoscopes alone results in very low total residual protein ≤5.6 mg per duodenoscopes. Recommendations vary between countries, sometimes with additional cleaning, use of alkaline cleaners, no use of cleaners with fixative properties, use of disinfectants without fixative properties or single-use disinfectants. Sodium hydroxide (1 M) and sodium hypochlorite (10,000 and 25,000 mg/L) are very effective in preventing transmission via contaminated wires implanted into animal brains, but their relevance for endoscopes is questionable. Based on circumstantial evidence, it is proposed to consider validated reprocessing as appropriate in the case of delayed suspected prion disease when immediate bedside cleaning, routine use of alkaline cleaners, no fixative agents anywhere prior to disinfection and single use brushes and cleaning solutions can be assured.

Abstract
Reducing the number of spermatozoa per artificial insemination (AI) dose and managing semen in ways to ensure greater quality at the same time represents current challenges with sperm processing in pig AI centers. Based on a multi-year comparative analysis of process steps in different pig AI centers, and complementary experimental studies under standardized laboratory conditions, current process standards for the preservation of boar semen have been updated and new ones developed. Currently, these standards represent an integral part of the quality assurance of 29 European pig AI centers in ten different organizations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Improvement of hygiene management and guidelines for prudent use of antibiotics have become key issues. Furthermore, new quality control tools have been implemented in the processing and transport of boar semen: e.g. refractometry as an easy-to-use tool to estimate extender osmolarity and 'mobile sensing' apps for continuous monitoring of various environmental parameters. Moreover, based on a series of experiments under laboratory and field conditions, guidelines for optimizing the dilution process, and time and temperature management during boar semen processing, have been developed and implemented. Similarly, recommendations for the handling of semen doses during storage have been renewed. Over the years, the efficiency of the quality assurance system has been reflected by a decrease of bacterial contamination and a concomitant increase in the quality of semen doses. In conclusion, science-based quality assurance is an effective way to improve the production performance in pig AI centers, resulting in high quality and economically-priced semen for pig producers. Increasing knowledge of sperm physiology together with computational and technical innovations will continue to develop and modify quality assurance concepts in the future.

Abstract
In this study a prognosis model is developed that predicts sperm quality characteristics based on external factors such as barn climate conditions, seasonality, semen collection frequency, age and breed of artificial insemination (AI) boars. For this a k-fold cross validation framework is used to test the prediction accuracy of a wide range of regression models that are based on different functional forms (linear, log-linear) and estimation techniques (ordinary least squares, seemingly unrelated regression, two-stage least squares estimation and three-stage least squares estimation). The dataset includes 241 boars from three barns within one boar stud located in Southern Germany, consisting of 7455 ejaculates collected during one year. The winner model predicts sperm motility with little error (Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE): 4.35%), but is of limited use to predict sperm output (MAPE: 23.92%) and especially morphologically abnormal spermatozoa (MAPE: 44.67%). An estimation of marginal effects shows, that once confounding variables are controlled for, the considered barn climate variables do not have a measurable effect on sperm quality. Other factors have a more significant effect on sperm quality, like morphology-motility linkages, sperm concentration, interval between semen collections and to a lesser extent age and breed of the AI boar.

Abstract
The use of CRISPR-Cas9 as a therapeutic reagent is hampered by its off-target effects. Although rationally designed S. pyogenes Cas9 (SpCas9) variants that display higher specificities than the wild-type SpCas9 protein are available, these attenuated Cas9 variants are often poorly efficient in human cells. Here, we develop a directed evolution approach in E. coli to obtain Sniper-Cas9, which shows high specificities without killing on-target activities in human cells. Unlike other engineered Cas9 variants, Sniper-Cas9 shows WT-level on-target activities with extended or truncated sgRNAs with further reduced off-target activities and works well in a preassembled ribonucleoprotein (RNP) format to allow DNA-free genome editing.

Abstract
SummaryThe efficacy of three different protein C activity assays and of protein C antigen determination for the diagnosis of protein C deficiency was studied in 13 protein C deficient patients (11 with type I, 2 with type II deficiency) and in 51 presumably nondeficient patients (control group), both groups being on oral anticoagulant (OAC) treatment. For protein C activity measurement (1) the assay according to Francis (slightly modified) with thrombin activation and measurement of activated protein C in the aPTT system, (2) an assay using Protac activation and chromogenic substrate (Protac-CS) and (3) an assay using Protac activation and the aPTT system (Protac-PTT) were used. Protein C antigen was determined by Laurcll immunoelec-trophoresis. The three activity assays gave different results, with the highest values obtained by the Protac-CS assay and the lowest values by the Protac-PTT assay. The Francis assay gave intermediate results.Protein C activity and antigen values were significantly lower in protein C deficient patients compared to the control group. Protein C activity tests had a higher discriminative power than the antigen determination. After taking into account the intensity of treatment, by the Francis assay all deficient and non-deficient patients were correctly classified, by the Protac-CS and the Protac-PTT assay 2 and 4 patients, respectively, were misclas-sified and by the antigen assay 8 patients were misclassified. Calculation of the ratios of protein C activity to factor II activity was of high discriminative power.We conclude that for diagnosis of protein C deficiency protein C activity tests are superior to antigen determination not only in type II but also in type I deficient patients. Certain statistical procedures can further improve the discrimination between deficient and non-deficient patients.

Abstract
Abstract
While the role of adipocyte, one of the major components of the breast microenvironment, has been well documented in breast cancer progression, the preadipocytes function to favor early-stage breast cancer progression at the molecular level is not fully elucidated. To delineate the role of human preadipocyte (hPreAd) on breast cancer progression, we investigated a cross-talk between human breast dutal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and hPreAd in in vivo culture and in vivo tumor model. On Co-culture system with DCIS cell line MCF10DCIS.com and primary hPreAd, proliferation, migration and invasion of MCF10DCIS.com was promoted by hPreAd. Conditioned medium (CM) of hPreAd activated signaling molecules (AKT1, ERK1/2, mTOR, FAK and STAT3) in MCF10DCIS.com. hPreAd expressed fibroblast specific protein 1 (FSP1) and alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMC), and increased IL-6 secretion by co-culture or MCF10DCIS.com CM, whereas adipocyte differentiation of hPreAd was suppressed by co-culture. A neutralizing antibody (NAb) of IL-6 or IL-6 receptor suppressed the MCF10DCIS.com proliferation and migration enhanced by co-culture of hPreAd. In xenograft tumor model, tumor growth of MCF10DCIS.com was enhanced by co-injection with hPreAd. IL-6 NAb had minimal effect in xenografts with MCF10DCIS.com alone; however, in models co-administered with hPreAd, IL-6 NAb had more potent effects on tumor inhibition. Taken together, our study suggests that IL-6-mediated cross-talk between preadipocyte and breast DCIS can exert the breast cancer progression at early-stage. Deciphering the cellular and molecular mechanisms behind the preadipocyte-breast DCIS crosstalk might provide new targets for improving diagnosis/prognosis and for the design of innovative therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
The processing of ejaculates is a fundamental step for the fertilizing capacity of boar spermatozoa. The aim of the present study was to identify factors that affect quality of boar semen doses. The production process during 1 day of semen processing in 26 European boar studs was monitored. In each boar stud, nine to 19 randomly selected ejaculates from 372 Pietrain boars were analyzed for sperm motility, acrosome and plasma membrane integrity, mitochondrial activity and thermo-resistance (TRT). Each ejaculate was monitored for production time and temperature for each step in semen processing using the special programmed software SEQU (version 1.7, Minitüb, Tiefenbach, Germany). The dilution of ejaculates with a short-term extender was completed in one step in 10 AI centers (n = 135 ejaculates), in two steps in 11 AI centers (n = 158 ejaculates) and in three steps in five AI centers (n = 79 ejaculates). Results indicated there was a greater semen quality with one-step isothermal dilution compared with the multi-step dilution of AI semen doses (total motility TRT d7: 71.1 ± 19.2%, 64.6 ± 20.0%, 47.1 ± 27.1%; one-step compared with two-step compared with the three-step dilution; P < .05). There was a marked advantage when using the one-step isothermal dilution regarding time management, preservation suitability, stability and stress resistance. One-step dilution caused significant lower holding times of raw ejaculates and reduced the possible risk of making mistakes due to a lower number of processing steps. These results lead to refined recommendations for boar semen processing.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hereditary factors are involved in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD). However, AD-related gene variations are significantly different across ethnicities. AIM To identify mutations and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in barrier- or immune-related genes from Korean patients with AD and compare the variations with those observed in nonatopic healthy controls (HCs), and to use novel reverse blot hybridization assay (REBA) for AD-related gene variants. METHODS We carried out REBA to simultaneously detect variations in genes related to barrier or immune function, namely, FLG, SPINK5, KLK7, DEFB1, TNFα, KDR, FCER1A, IL4, IL5,IL5RA, IL9, IL10, IL12, IL12R, IL13 and IL18, from Korean patients with AD, and compared the variation to that in nonatopic healthy controls. RESULTS The homozygous mutants of KLK7 and SPINK5-2475, and the heterozygous mutants of FLG 3321delA, SPINK5-1156, DEFB1, KDR, IL5RA, IL9 and IL12RB1 were significantly more frequent in AD. It has been predicted that the larger the number of gene variants, the higher the odds ratio of AD prevalence; however, we did not find any significant correlation between the number of gene variants and AD severity. CONCLUSION Using REBA, we identified more genetic variants that can predict AD occurrence. We also verified that REBA can be used to easily and accurately detect multiple AD-related gene variants simultaneously. In addition, we identified a correlation between KLK7 mutation and AD in Koreans, which is the first such report, to our knowledge.

Abstract
Quantifying gross primary production (GPP) remains a major challenge in global carbon cycle research. Spaceborne monitoring of solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF), an integrative photosynthetic signal of molecular origin, can assist in terrestrial GPP monitoring. However, the extent to which SIF tracks spatiotemporal variations in GPP remains unresolved. Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2)'s SIF data acquisition and fine spatial resolution permit direct validation against ground and airborne observations. Empirical orthogonal function analysis shows consistent spatiotemporal correspondence between OCO-2 SIF and GPP globally. A linear SIF-GPP relationship is also obtained at eddy-flux sites covering diverse biomes, setting the stage for future investigations of the robustness of such a relationship across more biomes. Our findings support the central importance of high-quality satellite SIF for studying terrestrial carbon cycle dynamics.

Abstract
SummaryObjectives: To analyze the attitude of physicians towards alerting in CPOE systems in different hospitals in different countries, addressing various organizational and technical settings and the view of physicians not currently using a CPOE.Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative and qualitative questionnaire survey. We invited 2,600 physicians in eleven hospitals from nine countries to participate. Eight of the hospitals had different CPOE systems in use, and three of the participating hospitals were not using a CPOE system.Results: 1,018 physicians participated. The general attitude of the physicians towards CPOE alerting is positive and is found to be mostly independent of the country, the specific organizational settings in the hospitals and their personal experience with CPOE systems. Both quantitative and qualitative results show that the majority of the physicians, both CPOE-users and non-users, appreciate the benefits of alerting in CPOE systems on medication safety. However, alerting should be better adapted to the clinical context and make use of more sophisticated ways to present alert information. The vast majority of physicians agree that additional information regarding interactions is useful on demand. Around half of the respondents see possible alert overload as a major problem; in this regard, physicians in hospitals with sophisticated alerting strategies show partly better attitude scores.Conclusions: Our results indicate that the way alerting information is presented to the physicians may play a role in their general attitude towards alerting, and that hospitals with a sophisticated alerting strategy with less interruptive alerts tend towards more positive attitudes. This aspect needs to be further investigated in future studies.

Abstract
Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund: Die Spiegeltherapie stellt bei der Behandlung von Hemiparesen nach Schlaganfall bei Erwachsenen eine effektive Therapieform zur Verbesserung motorischer Funktionen dar. Aufgrund der vorliegenden Evidenz bei Erwachsenen und den Wirkmechanismen dieser Therapieform kann vermutet werden, dass sie auch bei der Behandlung eines Kindes mit Hemiparese positive Effekte hervorrufen kann.
Ziel: Die Studie diente der Evaluation möglicher Effekte von Spiegeltherapie auf die motorische Funktionsfähigkeit des betroffenen Arms bei einem Kind mit Hemiparese. Zusätzlich wurde auch die praktische Umsetzung betrachtet.
Methode: Die Probandin (weiblich, 7 Jahre) der kontrollierten Einzelfallstudie im A-B-Design führte die Spiegeltherapie über einen Zeitraum von 4 Wochen lang 3-mal täglich für 10 Minuten aus. Es wurden sowohl uni- als auch bilaterale Bewegungen integriert. Die primäre Fragestellung betraf das Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA). Zur Verlaufskontrolle erfolgte 2-mal wöchentlich der Box-and-Block-Test. Daneben kamen Skalen zur Erfassung der Motivations- und Konzentrationsfähigkeit während der Spiegeltherapie zum Einsatz.
Ergebnisse: Die Probandin zeigte bei allen eingesetzten Assessments positive Veränderungen. Der Posttest des AHA wies eine deutliche Verbesserung auf.
Schlussfolgerung: Es besteht Grund zur Annahme, dass Spiegeltherapie bei Kindern mit Hemiparese eine effektive Behandlungsmaßnahme darstellt. Für evidenzbasierte Aussagen bedarf es weiterer und umfangreicherer Studien.

Abstract
By analogy with the natural product chelerythrine, which has been identified as an inhibitor of both acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), we prepared a small series of 8-hydroxy-2,7-naphthyridin-2-ium salts. Spectroscopic analyses allowed us to elucidate the zwitterionic nature of 2,7-naphthyridin-1(7H)-ones, the neutral state of 8-hydroxy-2,7-naphthyridin-2-ium salts. Among the tested compounds, we identified dual inhibitors of AChE and BChE as well as an inhibitor showing a preferential inhibition of AChE over BChE. By in vitro characterization in combination with docking studies, we were able to identify structural features that influence the biological activity of 8-hydroxy-2,7-naphthyridin-2-ium salts.

Abstract
Objectives The aim of the current study was to analyse the effects of posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) deficiency on forces of the posterolateral corner structure and on tibiofemoral (TF) and patellofemoral (PF) contact force under dynamic-loading conditions. Methods A subject-specific knee model was validated using a passive flexion experiment, electromyography data, muscle activation, and previous experimental studies. The simulation was performed on the musculoskeletal models with and without PCL deficiency using a novel force-dependent kinematics method under gait- and squat-loading conditions, followed by probabilistic analysis for material uncertain to be considered. Results Comparison of predicted passive flexion, posterior drawer kinematics and muscle activation with experimental measurements showed good agreement. Forces of the posterolateral corner structure, and TF and PF contact forces increased with PCL deficiency under gait- and squat-loading conditions. The rate of increase in PF contact force was the greatest during the squat-loading condition. The TF contact forces increased on both medial and lateral compartments during gait-loading conditions. However, during the squat-loading condition, the medial TF contact force tended to increase, while the lateral TF contact forces decreased. The posterolateral corner structure, which showed the greatest increase in force with deficiency of PCL under both gait- and squat-loading conditions, was the popliteus tendon (PT). Abstract
Background: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy is a frequent side-effect of drugs that are used in the treatment of cancer. Affected individuals can suffer from motor, sensory or autonomy nerve damage. Further medication is used for the treatment of CIPN which can cause further side-effects. Patients should be offered physical therapy treatment to relieve the symptoms. Objective: The aim of this article is to give an overview of available literature investigating physical therapy in CIPN in pediatric oncology. Methods: To determine relevant literature, a systematic review was conducted in the databases CINAHL, The Cochrane Library, ERIC, MEDPILOT, PEDro, PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO, PubMed and DIMDI. Besides the methodological quality of the identified literature is supposed to be reviewed. Results: There is no current literature regarding the subject of this article, so no evaluation of the quality could be carried out. Although several publications concerning adults could be identified and transfer could be established for pediatrics. Conclusion: Acupuncture appeared to be effective in the treatment of CIPN in adults. Good results appeared especially regarding pain. Sensorimotor training, balance training, electrotherapy and alternative methods like Reiki and Yoga showed good results for patients symptoms. These treatment methods give a future prospect how CIPN in children can be treated successfully - but further pediatric research is necessary.
