Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Recent clinical studies have shown that serum high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels are correlated with acute pancreatitis (AP) severity. We aimed to investigate the role of HDL in pancreatic necrosis in AP. EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH ApoA-I is the main constitution and function component of HDL. The roles of healthy human-derived HDL and apoA-I mimic peptide D4F were demonstrated in AP models in vivo and in vitro. Constitutive Apoa1 genetic inhibition on AP severity, especially pancreatic necrosis was assessed in both caerulein and sodium taurocholate induced mouse AP models. In addition, constitutive (Casp1-/-) and acinar cell conditional (Pdx1CreNlrp3Δ/Δ and Pdx1CreGsdmdΔ/Δ) mice were used to explore the effects of HDL on acinar cell pyroptosis in AP. KEY RESULTS Apoa1 knockout dramatically aggravated pancreatic necrosis. Human-derived HDL protected against acinar cell death in vivo and in vitro. We found that mimic peptide D4F also protected against AP very well. Constitutive Casp1 or acinar cell-conditional Nlrp3 and Gsdmd genetic inhibition could counteract the protective effects of HDL, implying HDL may exert beneficial effects on AP through inhibiting acinar cell pyroptosis. CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS This work demonstrates the protective role of HDL and apoA-I in AP pathology, potentially driven by the inhibition of NLRP3 inflammasome signaling and acinar cell pyroptosis. Mimic peptides have promise as specific therapies for AP.

Abstract
Lowering the Schottky barrier at the metal-semiconductor interface remains a stern challenge in the field of field-effect transistors. Herein, an in-depth investigation was conducted to explore the formation mechanism of the Schottky barrier via interlayer distance and external electric field, utilizing the first-principles approach. Attributed to the vertical asymmetric structure of B2P6, ohmic contact forms at the interface of a graphene/B2P6(001) heterostructure, and an n-type Schottky contact with a Schottky barrier of 0.51 eV forms at the interface of a graphene/B2P6(001̄) heterostructure. Furthermore, the Schottky barrier height and the contact type can be changed by adjusting the interlayer spacing or applying an electric field along the Z direction. A high carrier concentration of 4.65 × 1013 cm-2 is obtained in the graphene/B2P6(001) heterostructure when an external electric field of 0.05 V Å-1 is applied. Verifiably, alterations in the energy band structure are attributed to the redistribution of charges at the interface. The new findings indicate that GR/B2P6 heterostructures are a key candidate for next-generation Schottky field-effect transistor development.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of nerve injury in rats by neurobehavioral experiments, in order to provide a model and idea for further clarification of the traumatic brain injury mechanism under explosion exposure. Methods: From May 2021 to August 2022, 160 SPF male rats were randomly divided into four groups, including control group, 60 kPa group (low intensity group), 90 kPa group (medium intensity group) and 120 kPa group (high intensity group). The blast induced traumatic brain injury (bTBI) model of rats was established by using the shock tube platform to simulate the shock wave parameters of the explosion overpressure of 60 kPa, 90 kPa and 120 kPa. Acute observation was carried out after 24 h and 7 d of explosive exposure, and chronic recovery observation was carried out after 28 d and 90 d. The time effect of shock wave brain injury in different situations was discussed by open field, light dark test, active avoidance test. Finally, the results of brain injury in rats were detected by pathological tissue staining. Results: After 24 h explosion exposure, compared with the control group, the rest time of rats in low and high intensity groups increased, the total movement distance decreased, and the number of visits to the camera obscura decreased, with statistical significance (P<0.05). After 7 days of exposure, compared with the control group, the rest time of rats in high intensity group increased, and the number of visits to the obscura decreased, with statistical significance (P<0.05). After 28 and 90 days of exposure, compared with the control group, there were no significant differences in rest time, total exercise distance and times of visiting the camera obscura in all intensity groups (P>0.05). After 24 h of explosive exposure, compared with the control group, the cell morphology of rats in each intensity group was normal, and no inflammatory cell infiltration was observed. Conclusion: In the acute phase (24 h) of blast exposure, rats have no desire to explore the outside world, and shock wave exposure may damage the neurological function of rats.

Abstract
The characteristics and main factors of causes of haze in Zhoukou in January 2022 were analyzed. Six air pollutants, water-soluble ions, elements, OC, EC, and other parameters in fine particulate matter were monitored and analyzed using a set of online high-time-resolution instruments in an urban area. The results showed that the secondary inorganic aerosols(SNA), carbonaceous aerosols(CA, including organic carbon OC and inorganic carbon EC), and reconstructed crustal materials(CM, such as Al2O3, SiO2, CaO, and Fe2O3, etc.) were the three main components, accounting for 61.3%, 24.3%, and 9.72% in PM2.5, respectively. The concentrations of SNA, CA, CM, and SOA were increased, accompanied with higher AQI. The sulfur oxidation rate(SOR) and nitrogen oxidation rate(NOR) in January were 0.53 and 0.46, respectively. The growth rates[μg·(m3·h)] of sulfate and nitrate were 0.027(-5.89-9.47, range) and 0.051(-23.1-12.4), respectively. During the haze period, the growth rates of sulfate and nitrate were 0.13 μg·(m3·h)-1and 0.24 μg·(m3·h)-1, which were 4.8 and 4.7 times higher than the average value of January, respectively. Although the sulfur oxidation rate was greater than the nitrogen oxidation rate, the growth rate of nitrate was approximately 1.8 times that of sulfate owing to the difference in the concentration of gaseous precursors and the influence of relative humidity. The growth rates of nitrate in SNA were significantly higher than those of sulfate on heavily polluted days. The values of SOR, NOR, and concentrations of SNA and SOA during higher AQI and humidity periods were higher than those in lower AQI and humidity periods. The Ox(NO2+O3) decreased with the increase in relative humidity. The SOA was higher at nighttime, increasing faster with the humidity than that in daytime. Under the situation of lower temperature, higher humidity, and lower wind speed, the emission of gaseous precursors of SNA requires further attention in Zhoukou in winter. Advanced control strategies of emissions of SO2 and NO2, such as mobile sources and coal-burning sources, could reduce the peak of haze in winter efficiently.

Abstract
The size of plant lateral organs is determined by well-coordinated cell proliferation and cell expansion. Here, we report that miR159, an evolutionarily conserved microRNA, plays an essential role in regulating cell division in rose (Rosa hybrida) petals by modulating cytokinin catabolism. We uncover that Cytokinin Oxidase/Dehydrogenase6 (CKX6) is a target of miR159 in petals. Knocking down miR159 levels results in the accumulation of CKX6 transcripts and earlier cytokinin clearance, leading to a shortened cell division period and smaller petals. Conversely, knocking down CKX6 causes cytokinin accumulation and a prolonged developmental cell division period, mimicking the effects of exogenous cytokinin application. MYB73, a R2R3-type MYB transcription repressor, recruits a co-repressor (TOPLESS) and a histone deacetylase (HDA19) to form a suppression complex, which regulates MIR159 expression by modulating histone H3 lysine 9 acetylation levels at the MIR159 promoter. Our work sheds light on mechanisms for ensuring the correct timing of the exit from the cell division phase and thus organ size regulation by controlling cytokinin catabolism.

Abstract
Second-harmonic generation (SHG) response and birefringence are crucial properties for linear and nonlinear optical (NLO) materials, while it is difficult to further optimize these two key properties by using a single traditional functional building block (FBB) in one compound. Herein, a novel IO4 5- unit is identified, which possesses a square-planar configuration and two stereochemically active lone-pairs (SCALPs). By combining IO4 5- and IO3 - units, the first examples of mixed-valent polyiodates featuring an unprecedented bowl-shaped I5 O12 - polymerized unit, namely (NH4 )2 (I5 O12 )(IO3 ) and K1.03 (NH4 )0.97 (I5 O12 )(IO3 ), are successfully synthesized. Excitingly, both crystals exhibit strong SHG responses (16 × KDP and 19.5 × KDP @1064 nm) as well as giant birefringence (∆nexp = 0.431 and 0.405 @546 nm). Detailed structure-property analyses reveal that the parallel aligned planar IO4 5- units induce the properly aligned high-density SCALPs, leading to strong SHG response and giant birefringence for both materials. This work not only provides two new potential NLO and birefringent crystals, but also discovers a novel promising FBB (IO4 5- ) for developing high-performance linear and nonlinear optical materials.

Abstract
Objective: To describe the prevalence of psychological distress and to analyze its influencing factors among Chinese children and adolescents aged 9-18 years in 2019. Methods: Data was from the 2019 Chinese National Survey on Students' Constitution and Health, and 148 892 children and adolescents were included. Psychological distress was measured using the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10): scores ≤19 were defined as no psychological distress, scores between 20-24 were defined as mild psychological distress, scores between 25-29 were defined as moderate psychological distress, and scores ≥30 were defined as severe psychological distress (moderate to severe psychological distress were defined as high psychological distress). The ANOVA, t test, and χ2 test were used to compare the differences in K10 scores and high psychological distress rates among children and adolescents with different characteristics. The ANOVA and trend χ2 test were used to analyze the trends. Modified-Poisson regression models were used to determine influencing factors of high psychological distress. Results: The K10 scores for Chinese children and adolescents aged 9-18 years in 2019 was 21.5±9.2, and their rate of high psychological distress was 31.6%. The rates of high psychological distress among children and adolescents aged 9-12, 13-15, and 16-18 years were 22.3%, 35.9%, and 38.8%. K10 scores and rates of high psychological distress showed an increasing trend as age increased (trends test all P<0.001). K10 scores and rates of high psychological distress were higher among children and adolescents who were older, female, rural, in areas with medium to low GDP per capita level, and with lower parental education (all P<0.001). Multifactorial modified-Poisson regression analysis showed that children and adolescents aged 13-15 years, 16-18 years, female, rural, and in areas with low to moderate GDP per capita level were at higher risk of high psychological distress (all P<0.05), with aOR (95%CI) of 1.55 (1.52-1.58), 1.66 (1.63-1.69), 1.07 (1.05-1.09), 1.02 (1.01-1.04), 1.10 (1.07-1.12). Children and adolescents in areas with medium to high GDP per capita level, whose father had a secondary or high school degree, whose father had a college degree or above, whose mother had a secondary or high school degree, and whose mother had a college degree or above were at lower risk of high psychological distress (all P<0.05), with aOR (95%CI) of 0.96 (0.94-0.98), 0.92 (0.90-0.93), 0.84 (0.82-0.86), 0.95 (0.93-0.97), 0.86 (0.83-0.88). Conclusions: The prevalence of psychological distress was high among Chinese children and adolescents aged 9-18 years in 2019, which is a vital problem. Mental health interventions need to be implemented among children and adolescents that were older, girls, rural, live in areas with lower economic levels, and whose parents have a lower education level.

Abstract
RATIONALE T. marneffei is opportunistic and dimorphic fungus, which can cause systemic mycosis in human beings. It's being difficult to obtain histopathological or microbiological evidence in T. marneffei infection. We reported a rare non-HIV case of T. marneffei infection of bronchopulmonary and mediastinal lymph nodes which was diagnosed by EBUS-TBNA combined with mNGS. The high titer of anti-IFN-γ autoantibodies in serum was probably the cause of T. marneffei infection, which has yet to be fully known. PATIENT CONCERNS A 56-year-old Chinese man presented with a 5-month history of intermittent low or high fever and dry cough, followed by fatigue, night sweating, and chest pain when coughing. A large hilar lesion in the left lung and multiple mediastinal lymph node enlargements were found on his chest CT scan. DIAGNOSES The patient received EBUS-TBNA of hilar tissue and lymph node biopsy for mNGS at the second Ultrasonic bronchoscopy. No fungal hyphae or spores were found in the histopathology. There were high sequencing reads of T. marneffei in samples of lymph node fluid and bronchogenesis tissue detected by mNGS. His plasma anti-IFN-γ autoantibodies level was positive with a high titer at 1:2500↑. INTERVENTION The patient went through atrial fibrillation at the first dose of amphotericin B liposomes and treated with voriconazole later. OUTCOMES His fever, cough and dyspnea quickly disappeared since the fourth day of treatment. After six months, there was not any focus in his chest CT scans. But his plasma anti-IFN-γ autoantibodies remained unchanged. LESSONS Complementing the traditional laboratory and bronchoscopy, mNGS combined with EBUS-TBNA facilitate rapid and precise diagnosis of bronchopulmonary mediastinal lymph nodes T. marneffei infection. Clinicians should be aware of anti-INF-γ autoantibodies in opportunistic infections of non-HIV patients.

Abstract
A water-soluble polysaccharide (GFP) was isolated from Grateloupia filicina and fractionated using a DEAE Sepharose Fast Flow column to evaluate immunostimulatory activity. Carbohydrates (62.0%-68.4%) and sulfates (29.3%-34.3%) were the major components of GFP and its fractions (GFP-1 and GFP-2), with relatively lower levels of proteins (4.5%-15.4%) and uronic acid (1.4%-3.9%). The average molecular weight (Mw ) for GFP and its fractions was calculated between 98.2%-243.7 kDa. The polysaccharides were composed of galactose (62.1%-87.2%), glucose (4.5%-33.2%), xylose (3.1%-5.3%), mannose (1.4%-2.2%), rhamnose (1.2%-2.0%), and arabinose (0.9%-1.7%) units connected through →3)-Galp-(1→, →4)-Galp-(1→, →2)-Galp-(1→, →6)-Galp-(1→, →3,4)-Galp -(1→, →3,6)-Galp-(1→, →4,6)-Galp-(1→, →3,4,6)-Galp-(1→, →2,3)-Galp-(1→, →2,4)-Galp-(1→, →4)-Glcp-(1→, →6)-Glcp-(1→ and →4,6)-Glcp-(1→residues. The isolated polysaccharides effectively induced RAW264.7 murine macrophages by releasing nitric oxide (NO) and various cytokines via nuclear factor kappa light chain enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB) and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathways. Further, the expression of toll-like receptor-2 (TLR-2) and TLR-4 in RAW264.7 cells indicated their activation through TLR-2 and TLR-4 binding receptors. Among the polysaccharides, GFP-1 highly stimulated the activation of RAW264.7 cells, which was mainly constituted of (→1) terminal-D-galactopyranosyl, (1→3)-linked-ᴅ-galactopyranosyl, (1→4)-linked-ᴅ-galactopyranosyl and (1→3,4) -linked-ᴅ-galactopyranosyl residues. These findings demonstrate that GFP-1 from G. filicina are effective at stimulating the immune system and this warrants further investigation to determine potential biomedical applications.

Abstract
Epidermal microfluidic devices are continuously being developed for efficient sweat collection and sweat rate detection. However, most microfluidic designs ignore the use of airtight/adhesive substrate will block the natural perspiration of the covered sweat pores, which will seriously affect normal sweat production and long-term wearable comfort. Herein, we present a Janus textile-embedded microfluidic sensor platform with high breathability and directional sweat permeability for synchronous sweat rate and total electrolyte concentration detection. The device consists of a hollowed-out serpentine microchannel with interdigital electrodes and Janus textile. The dual-mode signal of the sweat rate (0.2-4.0 μL min-1) and total ionic charge concentration (10-200 mmol L-1) can be obtained synchronously by decoupling conductance step signals generated when sweat flows through alternating interdigitated spokes at equal intervals in the microchannel. Meanwhile, the hollowed-out microchannel structure significantly reduces the coverage area of the sensor on the skin, and the Janus textile-embedded device ensures a comfortable skin/device interface (fewer sweat pores are blocked) and improves breathability (503.15 g m-2 d-1) and sweat permeability (directional liquid transportation) during long-term monitoring. This device is washable and reusable, which shows the potential to integrate with clothing and smart textile, and thus facilitate the practicality of wearable sweat sensors for personalized healthcare.

Abstract
Daytime HONO photolysis is an important source of atmospheric hydroxyl radicals (OH). Knowledge of HONO formation chemistry under typical haze conditions, however, is still limited. In the Multiphase chemistry experiment in Fogs and Aerosols in the North China Plain in 2018, we investigated the wintertime HONO formation and its atmospheric implications at a rural site Gucheng. Three different episodes based on atmospheric aerosol loading levels were classified: clean periods (CPs), moderately polluted periods (MPPs) and severely polluted periods (SPPs). Correlation analysis revealed that HONO formation via heterogeneous conversion of NO2 was more efficient on aerosol surfaces than on ground, highlighting the important role of aerosols in promoting HONO formation. Daytime HONO budget analysis indicated a large missing source (with an average production rate of 0.66 ± 0.26, 0.97 ± 0.47 and 1.45 ± 0.55 ppbV/hr for CPs, MPPs and SPPs, respectively), which strongly correlated with photo-enhanced reactions (NO2 heterogeneous reaction and particulate nitrate photolysis). Average OH formation derived from HONO photolysis reached up to (0.92 ± 0.71), (1.75 ± 1.26) and (1.82 ± 1.47) ppbV/hr in CPs, MPPs and SPPs respectively, much higher than that from O3 photolysis (i.e., (0.004 ± 0.004), (0.006 ± 0.007) and (0.0035 ± 0.0034) ppbV/hr). Such high OH production rates could markedly regulate the atmospheric oxidation capacity and hence promote the formation of secondary aerosols and pollutants.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Though exercise during pregnancy can yield important maternal benefits, most pregnant women in China do less aerobic exercise than is currently recommended. This qualitative study aimed to explore the perceptions and experiences of physical exercise among pregnant women and to identify perceived barriers to and facilitators of exercise participation. METHODS Purposive sampling was used to recruit 40 pregnant women attending prenatal visits at an obstetrics outpatient department of a tertiary general hospital in Southern China. Individual semi-structured telephone interviews were conducted with the verbatim transcripts analyzed through content analysis. RESULTS Three main themes emerged from the data: perceptions and patterns of exercise; concerns and hesitations about participating in exercise; and determinants of adoption and maintenance of exercise participation. Though pregnant women recognised their need for physical exercise instruction, their demands remained unmet due to a combination of factors such as lack of knowledge, confidence, and support, and concerns about safety. DISCUSSION The findings of this study suggest that the provision of tailored exercise programs for pregnant women, which include education, reassurance, motivational strategies, and lay and professional support, may help improve knowledge, allay concerns, boost confidence, and bolster support when doing physical exercise.

Abstract
Two new mixed-anion cerium iodates, namely, Ce(IO3)3F and Ce(IO3)2(NO3), have been rationally designed through the integration of hybrid anionic functional building blocks (FBBs). The structure of Ce(IO3)3F features a novel [Ce(IO3)3F] bilayer, and the material exhibits large birefringence (0.225 @546 nm). The structure of Ce(IO3)2(NO3) features [Ce3(IO3)6]3+ triple layers that are further linked by planar NO3- units. Ce(IO3)2(NO3) shows a moderate SHG response (1 × KDP) and a high laser-induced damage threshold value (22 × AgGaS2). This work demonstrates that the rich coordination geometries of cerium cations facilitate tuning of the structures of related compounds through modulating anionic FBBs.

Abstract
In this study, we identify a novel class of second-order nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals, non-π-conjugated piperazine (H10C4N2, PIP) metal halides, represented by two centimeter-sized, noncentrosymmetric organic-inorganic metal halides (OIMHs), namely H12C4N2CdI4 (P212121) and H11C4N2CdI3 (Cc). H12C4N2CdI4 is the first to be prepared, and its structure contains a CdI4 tetrahedron, which led to a poor NLO performance, including a weak and non-phase-matchable second harmonic generation (SHG) response of 0.5 × KH2PO4 (KDP), a small birefringence of 0.047 @1064 nm and a narrow bandgap of 3.86 eV. Moreover, H12C4N2CdI4 is regarded as the model compound, and we further obtain H11C4N2CdI3via the replacement of CdI4 with a highly polarizable CdNI3 tetrahedron, which results in a sharp enhancement of SHG response and birefringence. H11C4N2CdI3 exhibits a promising NLO performance including 6 × KDP, 4.10 eV, Δn = 0.074 @1064 nm and phase matchability, indicating that it is the first OIMH to simultaneously exhibit strong SHG response (>5 × KDP) and a wide bandgap (>4.0 eV). Our work presents a novel direction for designing high-performance NLO crystals based on organic-inorganic halides and provides important insights into the role of the hybridized tetrahedron in enhancing the SHG response and birefringence.

Abstract
Huperzia crispata is a traditional Chinese herb plant and has attracted special attention in recent years for its products Hup A can serve as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (AChEI). Although the chloroplast (cp) genome of H. crispata has been studied, there are no reports regarding the Huperzia mitochondrial (mt) genome since the previously reported H. squarrosa has been revised as Phlegmariurus squarrosus. The mt genome of H. crispata was sequenced using a combination of long-read nanopore and Illumina sequencing platforms. The entire H. crispata mt genome was assembled in a circular with a length of 412,594 bp and a total of 91 genes, including 45 tRNAs, 6 rRNAs, 37 protein-coding genes (PCGs), and 3 pseudogenes. Notably, the rps8 gene was present in P. squarrosus and a pseudogene rps8 was presented in H. crispata, which was lacking in most of Pteridophyta and Gymnospermae. Intron-encoded maturase (mat-atp9i85 and mat-cobi787) genes were present in H. crispata and P. squarrosus, but lost in other examined lycophytes, ferns, and Gymnospermae plants. Collinearity analysis showed that the mt genome of H. crispata and P. squarrossus is highly conservative compared to other ferns. Relative synonymous codon usage (RSCU) analysis showed that the amino acids most frequently found were phenylalanine (Phe) (4.77%), isoleucine (Ile) (4.71%), lysine (Lys) (4.26%), while arginine (Arg) (0.32%), and histidine (His) (0.42%) were rarely found. Simple sequence repeats (SSR) analysis revealed that a total of 114 SSRs were identified in the mt genome of H. crispata and account for 0.35% of the whole mt genome. Monomer repeats were the majority types of SSRs and represent 91.89% of the total SSRs. In addition, a total of 1948 interspersed repeats (158 forward, 147 palindromic, and 5 reverse repeats) with a length ranging from 30 bp to 14,945 bp were identified in the H. crispata mt genome and the 30-39-bp repeats were the most abundant type. Gene transfer analysis indicated that a total of 12 homologous fragments were discovered between the cp and mt genomes of H. crispata, accounting for 0.93% and 2.48% of the total cp and mt genomes, respectively. The phylogenetic trees revealed that H. crispata was the sister of P. squarrosus. The Ka/Ks analysis results suggested that most PCGs, except atp6 gene, were subject to purification selection during evolution. Our study provides extensive information on the features of the H. crispata mt genome and will help unravel evolutionary relationships, and molecular identification within lycophytes.

Abstract
In this study, a cell-free tissue-engineered tracheal substitute was developed, which is based on a 3D-printed polycaprolactone scaffold coated with a gelatin-methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel, with transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β) and stromal cell-derived factor-1α (SDF-1) sequentially embedded, to facilitate cell recruitment and differentiation toward chondrocyte-phenotype. TGF-β was loaded onto polydopamine particles, and then encapsulated into the GelMA together with SDF-1, and called G/S/P@T, which was used to coat 3D-printed PCL scaffold to form the tracheal substitute. A rapid release of SDF-1 was observed during the first week, followed by a slow and sustained release of TGF-β for approximately four weeks. The tracheal substitute significantly promoted the recruitment of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) or human bronchial epithelial cells in vitro, and enhanced the ability of MSCs to differentiate towards chondrocyte phenotype. Implantation of the tissue-engineered tracheal substitute with a rabbit tracheal anterior defect model improved regeneration of airway epithelium, recruitment of endogenous MSCs and expression of markers of chondrocytes at the tracheal defect site. Moreover, the tracheal substitute maintained airway opening for 4 weeks in a tracheal full circumferential defect model with airway epithelium coverage at the defect sites without granulation tissue accumulation in the tracheal lumen or underneath. The promising results suggest that this simple, cell-free tissue-engineered tracheal substitute can be used directly after tracheal defect removal and should be further developed towards clinical application.

Abstract
Auxin response factor (ARF) is an important transcription factor that regulates the expression of auxin-responsive genes by direct binding to their promoters, which play a central role in plant growth, development, and response to abiotic stresses. The availability of the entire Coix (Coix lacryma-jobi L.) genome sequence provides an opportunity to investigate the characteristics and evolutionary history of the ARF gene family in this medicine and food homology plant for the first time. In this study, a total of 27 ClARF genes were identified based on the genome-wide sequence of Coix. Twenty-four of the 27 ClARF genes were unevenly distributed on 8 chromosomes except Chr 4 and 10, and the remaining three genes (ClARF25-27) were not assigned to any chromosome. Most of the ClARF proteins were predicted to be localized to the nucleus, except ClARF24, which was localized to both the plasma membrane and nucleus. Twenty-seven ClARFs were clustered into six subgroups based on the phylogenetic analysis. Duplication analysis showed that segmental duplication, rather than tandem duplications promoting the expansion of the ClARF gene family. Synteny analysis showed that purifying selection might have been a primary driving force in the development of the ARF gene family in Coix and other investigated cereal plants. The prediction of the cis element of the promoter showed that 27 ClARF genes contain several stress response elements, suggesting that ClARFs might be involved in the abiotic stress response. Expression profile analysis shows that 27 ClARF genes were all expressed in the root, shoot, leaf, kernel, glume, and male flower of Coix with varying expression levels. Furthermore, qRT-PCR analyses revealed that the majority of ClARFs members were upregulated or downregulated in response to hormone treatment and abiotic stress. The current study expands our understanding of the functional roles of ClARFs in stress responses and provides basic information for the ClARF genes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The survival benefit of partial nephrectomy (PN) in pT3a RCC patients is controversial. Here we aimed to explore the potential benefit of PN for pT3aN0M0 renal cell carcinoma (RCC). MATERIAL AND METHODS Data of patients with pT3aN0M0 RCC who were diagnosed between 2010 and 2012 in the National Cancer Institute Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were retrospectively collected. Overall survival (OS) and cancer specific survival (CSS) were compared using a Cox proportional hazards model between PN and radical nephrectomy (RN) in pT3aN0M0 RCC. Propensity score (-adjusted, -stratified, -weighted, and -matched) analyses were performed to control for imbalances in individual risk factors. RESULTS A total of 1277 patients with pT3aN0M0 RCC were identified, of whom 200 patients were treated with PN and 1077 patients were RN. PN showed favorable OS and CSS in 0-4 cm pT3aN0M0 RCC (P < 0.05), and similar OS and CSS in 4-7 cm pT3aN0M0 RCC, compared with RN using un-adjusted analyses. The Propensity score analyses further demonstrated the survival benefit of PN compared with the RN in 0-4 cm pT3aN0M0 RCC (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS In this retrospective study, PN was associated with improved survival compared with RN in 0-4 cm pT3aN0M0 RCC. Moreover, survival was comparable between PN and RN in 4-7 cm pT3aN0M0 RCC. These data provided evidence that PN could be an alternative choice for T3aN0M0 RCC less than 7 cm. Particularly, patients with 0-4 cm pT3aN0M0 RCC might benefit from PN.

Abstract
Objective The classification and clinical usage of the different species of bead ginseng are often confused. Therefore, we conducted an integrated metabolomics and transcriptome analysis of three main species of Panax, including Panax japonicas, Panax pseudoginseng, and Panax pseudo-ginseng var. elegantior. Methods A broad metabolome and transcriptome analysis for three origins of bead ginseng plants was performed using UPLC-ESI-MS/MS, RNA sequencing and annotation, and bioinformatic analysis of transcriptome data. Results The levels of 830 metabolites were determined. A total of 291 differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) between Panax pseudo-ginseng var. elegantior and Panax japonicas (Group A), with 73 upregulated and 218 downregulated. A total of 331 DAMs (110 upregulated and 221 downregulated) were found between Panax pseudoginseng and Panax japonicas (group B). There were 160 DAMs (102 up-regulated and 58 down-regulated) between Panax pseudoginseng and Panax pseudo-ginseng var. elegantior (group C). In addition, RNA sequencing was performed in the above three ways. A total of 16,074 differential expression genes (DEGs) were detected between Group A, in which 7,723 genes were upregulated and 8,351 genes were downregulated by RNA sequencing. Similarly, 15,705 genes were differentially expressed between group B, in which 7,436 genes were upregulated and 8,269 genes were downregulated. However, only 1,294 genes were differentially expressed between group C, in which 531 genes were upregulated and 763 genes were downregulated. We performed differential gene analysis on three groups of samples according to the Venn diagram and found that 181 differential genes were present. A total of 3,698 and 2,834 unique genes were in groups A and B, while 130 unique genes were in group C. Conclusions This study provides metabolome and transcriptome information for three bead ginseng plants. The analysis of the metabolite content showed differences in the attributes of the three bead ginseng, contained mainly flavonoids, phenolic acids as well as terpenes.

Abstract
Proper disinfection treatment is the basic guarantee for safe utilisation of sewage. However, the commonly used disinfection methods are not suitable for nutrients containing reclaimed water. In this work, the microwave disinfection method assisted by a microwave-absorbing material in recycled water samples was investigated. Magnetic corn stalk biochar (MCSB), the microwave absorbing material, was prepared by high temperature carbonisation of corn stalk particles impregnated with ferrous sulfate. Escherichia coli and fecal coliforms were selected as target microorganisms to investigate the disinfection efficiency of MCSB assisted microwave radiation (MW/MCSB). The addition of microwave absorbing materials significantly improves the disinfection effect of water samples. Compared with the microwave radiation (MW) without MCSB, the bactericidal rate by using 107 CFU/L E. coli suspension increased from 63.5% to 100% at 480 W for 30 s after adding 4 g/L MCSB. Besides, the effects of MCSB dosage, microwave power, microwave radiation time, and initial bacterial concentration on disinfection efficiency were explored. Moreover, the bactericidal efficiency for actual sewage samples was also demonstrated by treating the effluent from septic tank sewage. The residual fecal coliforms in treated water samples met China's farmland irrigation water standard (GB 5084-2021). The result indicates that the proposed method of microwave disinfection strengthened by MCSB has a promising application prospect for reclaimed water disinfection.

Abstract
Alfalfa is an important forage crop. Yield and quality are frequently threatened by extreme environments such as drought and salt stress. As a component of the cell wall, lignin plays an important role in the abiotic stress response, the mechanisms of which have not been well clarified. In this study, we combined physiological, transcriptional, and metabolic analyses to reveal the changes in lignin content in alfalfa under mannitol-induced osmotic stress. Osmotic stress enhanced lignin accumulation by increasing G and S units, which was associated with increases in enzyme activities and decreases in 8 intermediate metabolites. Upon combined analysis of the transcriptome and metabolome, we identified five key structural genes and several coexpressed transcription factors, such as MYB and WRKY, which may play a core role in regulating lignin content and composition under osmotic stress. In addition, lignin synthesis was positively regulated by ABA but negatively regulated by ethylene under osmotic stress. These results provide new insight into the regulatory mechanism of lignin synthesis under abiotic stress.

Abstract
Golden buckwheat (Fagopyrum dibotrys, also known as F. acutatum) is a traditional edible herbal medicinal plant with a large number of secondary metabolites and is considered to be a source of therapeutic compounds. Different ecological environments have a significant impact on their compound content and medicinal effects. However, little is known about the interactions between soil physicochemical properties, the rhizosphere, endophytic fungal communities, and secondary metabolites in F. dibotrys. In this study, the rhizosphere soil and endophytic fungal communities of F. dibotrys in five different ecological regions in China were identified based on high-throughput sequencing methods. The correlations between soil physicochemical properties, active components (total saponins, total flavonoids, proanthocyanidin, and epicatechin), and endophytic and rhizosphere soil fungi of F. dibotrys were analyzed. The results showed that soil pH, soil N, OM, and P were significantly correlated with the active components of F. dibotrys. Among them, epicatechin, proanthocyanidin, and total saponins were significantly positively correlated with soil pH, while proanthocyanidin content was significantly positively correlated with STN, SAN, and OM in soil, and total flavone content was significantly positively correlated with P in soil. In soil microbes, Mortierella, Trechispora, Exophiala, Ascomycota_unclassified, Auricularia, Plectosphaerella, Mycena, Fungi_unclassified, Agaricomycetes_unclassified, Coprinellus, and Pseudaleuria were significantly related to key secondary metabolites of F. dibotrys. Diaporthe and Meripilaceae_unclassified were significantly related to key secondary metabolites in the rhizome. This study presents a new opportunity to deeply understand soil-plant-fungal symbioses and secondary metabolites in F. dibotrys, as well as provides a scientific basis for using biological fertilization strategies to improve the quality of F. dibotrys.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the value of Improved Mayo Endoscopic Score (IMES) for evaluation of treatment efficacy for active ulcerative colitis (UC). METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and endoscopic data of 103 patients diagnosed with active UC in Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital from January, 2015 to December, 2020. The severity of endoscopic lesions was determined by Mayo Endoscopic Score and the Ulcerative Colitis Endoscopic Index of Severity (UCEIS), and the area of the endoscopic lesions was evaluated based on the Montreal classification system. The IMES was established by combining the MES with the Montreal classification. RESULTS Univariate analysis suggested that young patients (<40 years old), patients with extensive disease type (E3), patients with high endoscopic scores (MES=3, UCEIS>4, and IMES>4), and patients receiving advanced drug therapy (with systemic hormones, immunosuppressants, immunomodulators, and biological agents, etc.) had lower clinical and endoscopic remission rates. COX survival analysis showed that IMES≤4 was an independent risk factor for clinical and endoscopic remission. ROC curve indicated that the predictive value of IMSE≤4 for clinical and endoscopic remission (AUC=0.7793 and 0.7095, respectively; P<0.01) was better than that of Montreal (AUC=0.7357 and 0.6847, respectively; P<0.01), MES=2 (AUC=0.6671 and 0.5929, respectively; P<0.01), and UCEIS≤4 (AUC=0.6823 and 0.6459, respectively; P<0.01); IMES=5 had a better predictive value for patients with active UC undergoing colectomy tham E3 and MES=3. CONCLUSION IMES has good value in evaluating treatment efficacy for active UC.

Abstract
Reduced cancer deaths have led to an increase in the number of cancer survivors and the risk of the second primary tumor. This study explored the surgical outcomes of patients with non-small cell lung cancer as the second primary tumor and the impact of previous extra-pulmonary malignancies. Patients' data were obtained from Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results database. The patients were divided into lung surgery and non-surgery groups. Propensity-score matching was used to balance potential confounders. Kaplan-Meier curves were generated to test the overall survival and lung-cancer-specific survival. Cox regression analysis was performed to calculate death risk. In total 3054 lung surgery and 1094 non-surgery patients with stage I-II non-small cell lung cancer as the second primary tumor were included. The surgery group showed longer overall survival (68 vs. 22 months) and lung cancer-specific survival (not reached vs. 37 months) than those of non-surgery groups (both P < 0.001). Patients with previous hormone-dependent malignancies had similar survival rates (overall survival: 22 vs. 20 months, P = 0.666; lung cancer-specific survival: 38 vs. 37 months, P = 0.292) as those with non-hormone dependent malignancies in the non-surgery group. Significantly longer overall survival (90 vs. 60 months, P = 0.001) was observed in patients with hormone-dependent malignancies in the surgery group; however, there was no difference in lung cancer-specific survival (P = 0.225). Competing risk analysis showed that for patients undergoing lung surgery, there was higher previous malignancy-induced mortality in patients with non-hormone dependent malignancies than in patients with hormone-dependent malignancies. However, there was no difference in lung cancer-induced mortality between the two groups. Patients who underwent lobectomy showed longer survival than those who underwent pneumonectomy and other resection types (89, 27.5 and 65 months, P < 0.001). In summary, lung surgery is beneficial for patients with stage I-II non-small cell lung cancer as the second primary tumor after hormone-dependent malignancy resection.

Abstract
Cobalt-mediated radical polymerization is noted for its great level of control over the polymerization of acrylic and vinyl esters monomers, even at high molar mass. Vitamin B12, a natural bionic enzyme cobalt complex, involves the conversion of organic halides to olefins through chain-growth polymerization. In this work, the notion of R-Co(III) free radical persistent free radical effect and vitamin B12 circulation were first reported for the perception of ultralow abundance of microRNA-21, a lung cancer biomarker. Indeed, most Co-containing catalytic reactions can occur under mild conditions due to their minimal bond dissociation of the C-Co bond, with blue light irradiation. Based on the intrinsic stability of the vitamin B12 framework and recycling of the catalyst, it is evident that this natural catalytic scheme has potential applications in medicinal chemistry and biomaterials. In addition, this strategy, combined with highly specific recognition probes and vitamin B12 circulation-mediated chain-growth polymerization, has a detection limit as low as 910 aM. Furthermore, it is sensitive for sensing in serum samples containing biomarkers and shows great potential for RNA selection and amplification sensing in clinical samples.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Rhus chinensis Mill. is a species of the genus Rhus belonging to the family Anacardiaceae. Its fruits used to treat/prevent liver related diseases (e.g., jaundice and hepatitis) in folk medicine. Otherwise, the effects and underlying mechanisms of the fruits on the prevention of isoniazid and rifampicin-caused liver injury have not been investigated. AIM OF THE STUDY To study the preventive effects and mechanisms of the Rhus chinensis Mill. fruits on isoniazid and rifampicin-caused liver injury. MATERIALS AND METHODS This experiment was based on rifampicin (75 mg/kg/day) and isoniazid (75 mg/kg/day)-induced liver damage model to explain the pharmacological effects of Rhus chinensis Mill. fruits. The prevention of the extract from Rhus chinensis Mill. fruits on isoniazid and rifampicin-caused liver injury were evaluated using biochemical parameters, histopathological analysis, and immunofluorescence technique. Apart from that, the potential molecular mechanisms were elucidated by analyzing the expression of such crucial proteins participated in oxidative stress, apoptosis, and bile acid transport. RESULTS The extract from Rhus chinensis Mill. fruits significantly reduced the levels of ALT, AST, TBIL, ALP and MDA. Besides, the extract, especially 800 mg/kg b.w., was remarkably decreased the content of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-1β, restored the levels of GSH and SOD. The results of Western blot also presented that the extract could activate the Nrf2 protein pathway and inhibit the expression of CYP2E1 to reduce oxidative stress. Meanwhile, the extract significantly up-regulated the expressions of BSEP and Mrp2 to regulate the transport of bile acid, and alleviated the cellular apoptosis via adjusting the expression of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins. CONCLUSIONS Rhus chinensis Mill. fruits can prevent the liver injury induced by isoniazid and rifampicin in mice through adjusting the expressions of multiple proteins in oxidative stress, apoptosis, and bile acid transport pathways. This paper may provide scientific basis for the fruits as a Chinese medicine to prevent/cure liver injury.

Abstract
The clinical success of orthopedic implants is closely related to their integration in the bone tissue promoted by rough device surfaces. The biological response of precursor cells to their artificial microenvironments plays a critical role in this process. In this study, we elucidated the relation between cell instructivity and surface microstructure of polycarbonate (PC)-based model substrates. The rough surface structure (hPC) with an average peak spacing (Sm) similar to the trabecular spacing of trabecular bone improved osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs), as compared to the smooth surface (sPC) and the surface with a moderate Sm value (mPC). The hPC substrate promoted the cell adhesion and assembling of F-actin and enhanced cell contractile force by upregulating phosphorylated myosin light chain (pMLC) expression. The increased cell contractile force led to YAP nuclear translocation and the elongation of cell nuclei, presenting higher levels of active form of Lamin A/C. The nuclear deformation alternated the histone modification profile, particularly the decrease of H3K27me3 and increase of H3K9ac on the promoter region of osteogenesis related genes (ALPL, RUNX2, and OCN). Mechanism study using inhibitors and siRNAs elucidated the role of YAP, integrin, F-actin, myosin, and nuclear membrane proteins in such a regulatory process of surface topography on stem cell fate. These mechanistical insights on the epigenetic level give a new perspective in understanding of the interaction of substrate and stem cells as well as provide valuable criteria for designing bioinstructive orthopedic implants.

Abstract
The vascular cambium is the main secondary meristem in plants that produces secondary phloem (outside) and xylem (inside) on opposing sides of the cambium. The phytohormone ethylene has been implicated in vascular cambium activity, but the regulatory network underlying ethylene-mediated cambial activity remains to be elucidated. Here, we found that PETAL MOVEMENT-RELATED PROTEIN1 (RhPMP1), an ethylene-inducible HOMEODOMAIN-LEUCINE ZIPPER I transcription factor in woody plant rose (Rosa hybrida), regulates local auxin biosynthesis and auxin transport to maintain cambial activity. Knockdown of RhPMP1 resulted in smaller midveins and reduced auxin content, while RhPMP1 overexpression resulted in larger midveins and increased auxin levels compared with the wild-type plants. Furthermore, we revealed that Indole-3-pyruvate monooxygenase YUCCA 10 (RhYUC10) and Auxin transporter-like protein 2 (RhAUX2), encoding an auxin biosynthetic enzyme and an auxin influx carrier, respectively, are direct downstream targets of RhPMP1. In summary, our results suggest that ethylene promotes an auxin maximum in the cambium adjacent to the xylem to maintain cambial activity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although sugar-sweetened beverage consumption has become an important and widespread concern, there are few studies on the association between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption frequency and muscle strength in Chinese adolescents. The objective of this study was to analyze the association between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption frequency and muscle strength in Chinese adolescents. METHODS A stratified whole-group sampling method was used to survey 25,893 adolescents aged 13-15 years old in China for sugar-sweetened beverage consumption frequency and muscle strength for grip strength and standing long jump. The subjects' basic information, body mass index (BMI), and covariates were investigated. The association between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption frequency and muscle strength was analyzed by multivariate logisitc regression analysis. RESULTS The proportions of Chinese adolescents who consumed sugar-sweetened beverage ≥ 3 times/week, 1-2 times/week, and < 1 time/week were 12.23%, 52.79%, and 34.98%, respectively. The differences in sugar-sweetened beverage consumption frequency were statistically significant when compared across gender, parental education, duration of physical activity, snacks, and mode of commuting to school (χ2 values = 228.570, 51.422, 275.552, 3165.656, 10.988, P < 0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that overall Chinese adolescents with sugary drinks 1-2 times/week (OR = 1.207, 95% CI:1.132-1.287) and sugary drinks ≥ 3 times/week (OR = 1.771, 95% CI:1.611-1.947) were associated with lower muscle strength compared to sugary drinks < 1 time/week showed a positive association (P < 0.01). The same trend was found for boys and girls. CONCLUSION Chinese adolescents' sugar-sweetened beverage consumption is common, and high-frequency sugar-sweetened beverage consumption is associated with lower muscle strength. In the future, we should control the use of sugar-sweetened beverages and increase muscular strength training in Chinese adolescents to promote healthy growth.

Ultraviolet B radiation induces oxidative stress and apoptosis in human lens epithelium cells by activating NF-κB signaling to down-regulate sodium vitamin C transporter 2 (SVCT2) expression. Abstract
Ultraviolet B (UVB) exposure is reported to cause cataract formation by inducing excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) and apoptosis in human lens epithelial cells (HLECs). Sodium-dependent Vitamin C transports-2 (SVCT2) is a ascorbic acid (AsA) transporter for that can protect cells and tissues from oxidative stress. Here, we focus on the functional characterization and mechanism analysis of SVCT2 in UVB-treated HLECs. The results showed a significant reduction of SVCT2 expression in HLECs treated with UVB. SVCT2 abated apoptosis and Bax expression and increased Bcl-2 expression. Moreover, SVCT2 decreased ROS accumulation and MDA level, but increased the activities of antioxidant enzymes (SOD and GSH-PX). NF-κB inhibitor (PDTC) alleviated ROS production and apoptosis, and promoted SVCT2 expression in UVB-treated HLECs. Additionally, ROS inhibitor (NAC) suppressed oxidative stress, apoptosis, and induced SVCT2 expression in UVB-treated HLECs, while these effects were significantly abated due to the activation of NF-κB signaling. Furthermore, SVCT2 facilitated 14C-AsA absorption in UVB-treated HLECs. Together, our findings demonstrated that UVB exposure-induced ROS generation, which further activated NF-κB signaling to down-regulate SVCT2 expression in HLECs. Then, downregulated SVCT2 promoted ROS accumulation and induced apoptosis by decreasing AsA uptake. Our data reveal a novel NF-κB/SVCT2/AsA regulatory pathway and suggest the therapeutic potential of SVCT2 in UVB-induced cataract.

Abstract
Black carbon (BC) has a significantly negative impact on air quality, climate and human health. Here we investigated the sources and health effects of BC in urban area of the Pearl River Delta (PRD) based on online data measured by Aerodyne soot particle high-resolution time of flight aerosol mass spectrometer (SP-AMS). In urban PRD, BC particles mainly came from vehicle emissions especially heavy-duty vehicle exhausts (contributing 42.9 % of total BC mass concentration), long-range transport (27.6 %), and aged biomass combustion emissions (22.3 %). Indicated by source analysis using simultaneous aethalometer data, BC associated with local secondary oxidation and transport may also be originated from fossil fuel combustion, especially traffic sources in urban and surrounding areas. Size-resolved BC mass concentrations provided by SP-AMS, for the first time to our best knowledge, were used to calculate BC deposition in the human respiratory tract (HRT) of different populations (children, adults, and the elderly) by the Multiple-Path Particle Dosimetry (MPPD) model. We found that submicron BC was deposited more in the pulmonary (P) region (49.0-53.2 % of the total BC deposition dose), while less in the tracheobronchial (TB, 35.6-37.4 %) and head (HA, 10.7-13.9 %) regions. Adults suffered the highest BC deposition (1.19 μg day-1) than the elderly (1.09 μg day-1) and children (0.25 μg day-1). BC deposition rate was greater at night (especially 18:00-24:00) than during the daytime. The maximum deposition in the HRT was found for BC particles around 100 nm, mainly in deeper respiratory regions (TB and P), which may cause more serious health effects. Adults and the elderly group are confronted with the notable carcinogenic risk of BC in the urban PRD, up to 29 times higher than the threshold. Our study emphasizes the need to control BC pollution in the urban area, especially nighttime vehicle emissions.

Abstract
Black carbon (BC) plays an important role in the climate system because of its strong warming effect, yet the magnitude of this effect is highly uncertain owing to the complex mixing state of aerosols. Here we build a unified theoretical framework to describe BC's mixing states, linking dynamic processes to BC coating thickness distribution, and show its self-similarity for sites in diverse environments. The size distribution of BC-containing particles is found to follow a universal law and is independent of BC core size. A new mixing state module is established based on this finding and successfully applied in global and regional models, which increases the accuracy of aerosol climate effect estimations. Our theoretical framework links observations with model simulations in both mixing state description and light absorption quantification.

Abstract
Ferroelectric materials bring new opportunities for self-powdered photodetectors, taking advantage of their anomalous bulk photovoltaic effect. However, ferroelectric-based photodetectors suffer from relatively poor responsivity and detectivity due to obstacles of low electrical conductivity and low photoelectric conversion ability. The present work proposes a strategy based on heterovalent ion Ce-doping into BaTiO3 (Ce-BTO) that gives rise to a good room temperature conductivity combined with a significant PTCR (positive temperature coefficient of resistivity) effect. By utilizing a Ce-BTO PTCR semiconductor, a high-performance self-powered photodetector ITO/Ce-BTO/Ag is fabricated, demonstrating a polarity-switchable photoresponse with the change of wavelength due to the competition between hot electrons induced by the Ag plasmonic effect and electron-hole pairs separated by a Schottky barrier. Moreover, benefiting from the reduced bandgap and the introduced impurity states, good responsivity (9.85 × 10-5 A/W) and detectivity (1.25 × 1010 Jones) as well as fast response/recovery time (83/47 ms) is achieved under 450 nm illumination. Finally, four representative logic gates ("OR", "AND", "NOR", and "NAND") are demonstrated with one photodetector via the bipolar photoresponse. This work opens an avenue to promote the application of PTCR semiconductors in optoelectronics, offering a conceivable means toward high-performance self-powered photodetectors.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Talaromyces marneffei (T. marneffei), a dimorphic fungus, causes local or disseminated infection in humans. We aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics, prognostic factors, and survival outcomes of patients with T. marneffei infection and compare the differences between human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive and HIV-negative subgroups. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 241 patients with T. marneffei infection at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University between January 2012 and January 2022. The overall population was stratified into HIV-positive (n = 98) and HIV-negative (n = 143) groups according to HIV status. Kaplan-Meier analysis and multivariate Cox regression models were used to determine the prognostic factors for overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). RESULTS With a median follow-up time of 58.9 months, 120 patients (49.8%) experienced disease progression and 85 patients (70.8%) died. The 5-year rates of OS and PFS were 61.4% (95% CI 55.0-68.6%) and 47.8% (95% CI 41.5-55.1%), respectively. As an independent factor, patients who were HIV positive had better PFS (HR 0.50, 95% CI 0.31-0.82; p < 0.01) than patients who were HIV negative. Compared with patients who were HIV positive, patients who were HIV negative were older and had more probabilities of underlying diseases, chest involvement, bone destruction, and higher count of neutrophils (all p < 0.05). Hemoglobin (PFS: HR 0.62; 95% CI 0.39-1.00; p < 0.05; OS: HR 0.45; 95% CI 0.22-0.89; p = 0.02) and lymphocyte count (PFS: HR 0.06; 95% CI 0.01-0.26; p < 0.01; OS: HR 0.08; 95% CI 0.01-0.40; p < 0.01) were independent prognostic factors for PFS and OS in patients who were HIV negative. CONCLUSIONS Patients with T. marneffei infection have a poor prognosis. Patients who are HIV positive and HIV negative have relatively independent clinical characteristics. Multiple organ involvement and disease progression are more common in patients who are HIV negative.

Abstract
Posterior capsule opacification (PCO) is a serious complication after cataract surgery. Diabetes could increase the occurrence of PCO, but the mechanism is still unclear. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) derived from diabetic aqueous humor in PCO process. Intraoperatively-derived aqueous humor sEVs from patients with diabetic related cataract (DRC) promoted the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and metastasis of human lens epithelial cells (LECs). Via mouse PCO surgical model and DiI labeled fluorescence detection of sEVs, the sEVs derived from vascular endothelium were discovered directly contacting with LECs. Furthermore, we demonstrated that high-glucose-cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) -derived sEVs facilitated EMT process of HLE-B3 using co-culture model in vitro. MiRNA-seq data and GEO datasets analysis revealed that miR-1246 was essential in EMT process with diabetes. The miR-1246 was highly expressed in diabetic aqueous humor sEVs and high-glucose-treated vascular-endothelial-cell-derived sEVs. Moreover, miR-1246 promoted the metastasis and EMT process of HLE-B3 cells by directly targeting GSK-3β. Inhibiting miR-1246 could negatively regulated EMT. This finding might serve as a potential therapy for diabetic PCO.

Abstract
The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-related nuclease 9 (Cas9) system enables precise, simple editing of genes in many animals and plants. However, this system has not been applied to rose (Rosa hybrida) due to the genomic complexity and lack of an efficient transformation technology for this plant. Here, we established a platform for screening single-guide RNAs (sgRNAs) with high editing efficiency for CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing in rose using suspension cells. We used the Arabidopsis thaliana U6-29 promoter, which showed high activity for driving sgRNA expression, to modify the CRISPR/Cas9 system. We used our highly efficient optimized CRISPR/Cas9 system to successfully edit RhEIN2, encoding an indispensable component of the ethylene signaling pathway, resulting in ethylene insensitivity in rose. Our optimized CRISPR/Cas9 system provides a powerful toolbox for functional genomics, molecular breeding, and synthetic biology in rose.

Abstract
CFP2 is a sulfated polysaccharide isolated from Codium fragile that shows excellent immunomodulatory activity. To reduce the side effects of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), CFP2 was used as a macromolecular carrier to react with carboxymethyl-5-fluorouracil (C-5-FU) to form CFP2-C-5-FU, which further reacted with folic acid (FA) via an ester bond to form novel conjugates (CFP2-C-5-FU-FA). CFP2-C-5-FU-FA was confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis. In vitro drug release results showed that the cumulative release rate of C-5-FU was 49.9% in phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) after 96 h, which was much higher than that of the other groups, indicating that CFP2-C-5-FU-FA showed controlled drug release behavior. CFP2-C-5-FU-FA also exhibited enhanced apoptosis and cellular uptake in vitro. Further, intravenous administration of CFP2-C-5-FU-FA in an HCT-116 cell-bearing xenograft mouse showed that the conjugates were safe and effective drug delivery systems. These results suggest that folate-targeted conjugates can be used effectively for efficient chemotherapy of colorectal cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Orbital lymphoma is one of the most common adult orbital malignancies, accounting for approximately 10% of all orbital tumors. This study aimed to analyze the effects of surgical resection and orbital iodine-125 brachytherapy implantation for orbital lymphoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS This was a retrospective study. Clinical data of 10 patients were collected from October 2016 to November 2018 and followed up to March 2022. Patients underwent the primary surgery for maximal safe removal of the tumor. After a pathologic diagnosis of a primary orbital lymphoma was established, iodine-125 seed tubes were designed based on the tumor size and invasion range, and direct vision was placed into the nasolacrimal canal or/and under the orbital periosteum around the resection cavity during the secondary surgery. Then, follow-up data, including the general situation, ocular condition, and tumor recurrence, were recorded. RESULTS Of the 10 patients, the pathologic diagnoses included extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (6 cases), small lymphocytic lymphoma (1 case), mantle cell lymphoma (2 cases), and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (1 case). The number of seeds implanted ranged from 16 to 40. The follow-up period ranged between 40 and 65 months. All patients in this study were alive and well had tumors that were completely controlled. No tumor recurrences or metastases occurred. Three patients had dry eye syndrome and two patients had abnormal facial sensation. No patient had radiodermatitis involving the skin around the eye, and no patient had radiation-related ophthalmopathy. CONCLUSIONS Based on preliminary observations, iodine-125 brachytherapy implantation appeared to be a reasonable alternative to external irradiation for orbital lymphoma.

Abstract
Preeclampsia (PE) seriously affects pregnant women and fetuses' health and causes maternal near-misses. CD81 has been confirmed to be a novel PE biomarker with great potential. Herein, a hypersensitive dichromatic biosensor based on the plasmonic enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (plasmonic ELISA) is proposed initially for the application of CD81 in early screening for PE. In this work, a novel chromogenic substrate [(HAuCl4)-(N-methylpyrrolidone)-(Na3C6H5O7)] is designed based on the H2O2 dual catalysis reduction pathway of Au ions. The two reduction pathways of Au ions are controlled by H2O2 which ensures that the synthesis and growth of AuNPs are sensitive to H2O2. The amount of H2O2 correlates with the concentration of CD81 and directs the production of different-sized AuNPs in this sensor. Blue solutions are generated when analytes are present. When analytes are absent, solutions turn red. Therefore, due to different absorption peaks in red and blue, bimodal detection can be performed, and then two detection signals can be generated, one on signal at 550 nm and another off signal at 600 nm. This method exhibits a linear response to the logarithmic CD81 concentrations in the range of 0.1-1000 pg mL-1 with detection limits of 86 fg mL-1 and 152 fg mL-1 at two wavelengths. The false positive rate is low due to the nonspecific coloration caused by serum, which produces a more intense color contrast. The results indicate that the proposed dichromatic sensor could be used as a visual sensing platform for the direct detection of CD81 in biological samples and demonstrate its potential in preeclampsia diagnosis.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the perceived exercise benefits and barriers and their association with physical activity time in Chinese Han children and adolescents aged 9-18 years. Methods: Data were extracted from the 2019 Chinese National Survey on Students' Constitution and Health and a total of 163 656 children and adolescents aged 9-18 years in Han ethnic group were included in the analysis. Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to compare the perceived exercise benefits score, perceived exercise barriers score and perceived exercise benefits to barriers ratio in the children and adolescents with different demographic characteristics and physical activity time. The differences in physical activity time in subgroups were compared with χ2 tests. log-binomial regression model was used to evaluate the association between physical activity time and perceived exercise benefits and barriers. Results: The M (Q1,Q3) of the perceived exercise benefits score, perceived exercise barriers score, and perceived exercise benefits to barriers ratio in the children and adolescents were 4.11 (3.78, 4.78), 2.70 (2.10, 3.20) and 1.55 (1.22, 2.07), respectively. Children and adolescents living in urban area, boys, those at younger age and those with physical activity time ≥1 hour had higher perceived exercise benefits score and perceived exercise benefits to barriers ratio, but lower perceived exercise barriers score (all P<0.001). The prevalence of physical activity time ≥1 hour was 41.4% in the children and adolescents. In the log-binomial model with two variables of perceived exercise benefits score and perceived exercise barriers score, for each 1-point increase in the perceived exercise benefits, the possibility of physical activity time ≥1 hour increased by 11% (OR=1.11, 95%CI: 1.10-1.12), and for each 1-point increase in the perceived exercise barriers, the possibility of physical activity time ≥1 hour decreased by 15% (OR=0.85, 95%CI: 0.84-0.85). In the log-binomial model with variable of perceived exercise benefits to barriers ratio, for each 1-point increase in the perceived exercise benefits to barriers ratio, the possibility of physical activity time ≥1 hour increased by 12% (OR=1.12, 95%CI: 1.11-1.12). Conclusion: The perceived exercise benefits and barriers are significantly associated with physical activity time in children and adolescents in China.

Abstract
The cerebral cortex plays an important role in human and other animal adaptation to unpredictable terrain changes, but little was known about the functional network among the cortical areas during this process. To address the question, we trained 6 rats with blocked vision to walk bipedally on a treadmill with a random uneven area. Whole-brain electroencephalography signals were recorded by 32-channel implanted electrodes. Afterward, we scan the signals from all rats using time windows and quantify the functional connectivity within each window using the phase-lag index. Finally, machine learning algorithms were used to verify the possibility of dynamic network analysis in detecting the locomotion state of rats. We found that the functional connectivity level was higher in the preparation phase compared to the walking phase. In addition, the cortex pays more attention to the control of hind limbs with higher requirements for muscle activity. The level of functional connectivity was lower where the terrain ahead can be predicted. Functional connectivity bursts after the rat accidentally made contact with uneven terrain, while in subsequent movement, it was significantly lower than normal walking. In addition, the classification results show that using the phase-lag index of multiple gait phases as a feature can effectively detect the locomotion states of rat during walking. These results highlight the role of the cortex in the adaptation of animals to unexpected terrain and may help advance motor control studies and the design of neuroprostheses.

Abstract
Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is caused by a pathologic and destructive response of the organism as a result of the interaction between donor immunocompetent T lymphocytes and the recipient tisular antigens1. Graft-versus-host disease is considered a serious complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The skin, oral cavity and lungs are commonly affected organs. Among these complications bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome is a serious complication, which even can be life-threatening. Therefore, this research aims to do a clinical observation on the safety and efficacy of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of bronchiolitis obliterans after allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Fifteen patients were included in this study, who received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Among these patients, both of them were treated with azithromycin, montelukast, glucocorticoid and pirfenidone. Two of them did not receive second line anti-rejection treatment due to economic reasons, and three of them were treated with mesenchymal stem cells. These bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome-related symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness and wheezing have improved. Two of them died due to bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome related complications such as respiratory failure. Two of them not only improve the symptoms but also increased the FEV1/FVC, who were treated with mesenchymal stem cells. The comprehensive treatment regimen containing imatinib and ruxolitinib is safe and effective and mesenchymal stem cell is a promising treatment option to improve the prognosis of post-HSCT BOS.

Abstract
Convenient and sensitive detection of biomolecules is of utmost importance in the field of early disease screening. In this study, a Rose Bengal-Mediated photoinduced atom transfer radical polymerization (photoATRP) method was used to achieve highly sensitive detection of target DNA (tDNA). The tDNA was specifically recognized using PNA with terminal modified sulfhydryl groups, and the initiator α-bromophenylacetic acid (BPAA) was attached to the electrode surface via a phosphate-Zr4+-carboxylate acid structure. Under the excitation of blue light, rose bengal (RB) acts as a photocatalyst, β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) as an electron donor, and ferrocenylmethyl methacrylate (FMMA) as a monomer to activate the photoATRP reaction and generate a large number of electroactive polymer chains on the electrode surface. Under optimal conditions, the method can be used for the quantitative analysis of tDNA in the concentration range of 1-105 fM (R2 = 0.994) with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.115 fM. This metal-free mediated photoATRP biosensor, with low cost and environmental friendliness, has great potential in the field of highly sensitive biomolecule detection.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Sensitization to human leukocyte antigen (HLA) creates an immunological barrier to intestinal transplantation (ITx). Current desensitization therapies are limited and ineffective in the most highly sensitized patients. A co-transplanted whole liver transplant can protect a kidney, heart, or intestinal allograft from antibody-mediated injury. Whether an auxiliary partial liver allograft provides effective protection for highly sensitized intestinal transplant recipients is unknown. METHODS Two patients with strong HLA donor-specific antibody at high titer against their deceased donors underwent combined auxiliary partial liver and ITx across a positive cross-match. The left lateral lobes from the combined-graft recipients and the right liver lobes from the deceased donors were transplanted as a domino procedure to other four patients. RESULTS Two combined-graft recipients have had an uneventful postoperative course without major complications at a 12- and 24-month follow-up, respectively. Intestinal graft function has been excellent with no evidence of humoral or cellular rejection. While a positive cross-match turned negative, titers of donor-specific HLA antibodies gradually declined over time after transplant. The left liver lobes procured from the combined-graft recipients were successfully transplanted into two pediatric patients (age 1.9, 2.4 years) and the right lobes from two deceased donors were successfully transplanted into two adult patients. All transplant procedures went well, without post-operative complications related to the splitting technique. CONCLUSION Our results indicate that an auxiliary liver transplant can effectively protect a co-transplanted intestinal allograft against rejection and suggest that this combined procedure may serve as a useful therapeutic adjunct for a highly sensitized intestinal transplant candidate.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the prevalence trend of malnutrition among Chinese Han children and adolescents aged 7-18 years from 2010 to 2019. Methods: Based on the data from the Chinese National Surveys on Students' Constitution and Health in 2010, 2014 and 2019, about 215 102, 214 268 and 212 713 Han students aged 7-18 years were included in this study. According to the National Screening Standard for Malnutrition of School-age Children and Adolescents, the detection rate of malnutrition among Chinese Han children and adolescents aged 7-18 was calculated, and the prevalence trend of malnutrition from 2010 to 2019 was analyzed. Results: In 2019, the detection rate of malnutrition among Chinese Han students aged 7-18 years was 8.64% (18 381/212 713), of which the rate of growth retardation, moderate-to-severe wasting and mild wasting was 0.50% (1 062/212 713), 3.25% (6 914/212 713) and 4.89% (10 405/212 713), respectively. In 2019, the detection rate of malnutrition in these boys was higher than that of girls (9.97% vs. 7.31%), and the detection rate in rural areas was higher than that in cities (9.30% vs. 7.98%). The detection rates were 9.74% (5 252/53 916), 8.17% (4 408/53 937), 7.29% (3 885/53 310), and 9.38% (4 836/51 550) in 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18 years groups, and 8.14% (6 563/80 618), 7.61% (4 237/55 694) and 9.92% (7 581/76 401) in the eastern, central, and western regions. Malnutrition among students in China was mainly caused by mild wasting, and the detection rate of growth retardation accounted for only 5.78% (1 062/18 381). Malnutrition was mostly concentrated in the southwest region, and the rate was relatively low in eastern provinces. In three surveys from 2010 to 2019, the detection rate of malnutrition among Han students aged 7-18 in China decreased gradually, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Among them, the detection rates in western rural areas decreased significantly, as well as the gap between urban and rural areas. Compared with that in 2014, the detection rate of malnutrition in Shandong, Hunan, Qinghai and Hainan provinces in 2019 decreased significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion: In 2019, the malnutrition of Chinese children and adolescents aged 7-18 years is dominated by wasting malnutrition. The detection rate shows a downward trend from 2010 to 2019, with regional differences.
