Abstract
Reactor neutrino experiments play a crucial role in advancing our knowledge of neutrinos. In this Letter, the evolution of the flux and spectrum as a function of the reactor isotopic content is reported in terms of the inverse-beta-decay yield at Daya Bay with 1958 days of data and improved systematic uncertainties. These measurements are compared with two signature model predictions: the Huber-Mueller model based on the conversion method and the SM2018 model based on the summation method. The measured average flux and spectrum, as well as the flux evolution with the ^{239}Pu isotopic fraction, are inconsistent with the predictions of the Huber-Mueller model. In contrast, the SM2018 model is shown to agree with the average flux and its evolution but fails to describe the energy spectrum. Altering the predicted inverse-beta-decay spectrum from ^{239}Pu fission does not improve the agreement with the measurement for either model. The models can be brought into better agreement with the measurements if either the predicted spectrum due to ^{235}U fission is changed or the predicted ^{235}U, ^{238}U, ^{239}Pu, and ^{241}Pu spectra are changed in equal measure.

Abstract
Although the treatment of patients with burns combined with inhalation injury has achieved great success, from the perspective of epidemiology, inhalation injury is still the most common cause of death in mass burns. Such patients often suffered burns of large total body surface area, which is difficult to treat, with airway management as one of the core links. Physical airway clearance technique (ACT) acts on a patient's respiratory system by physical means, to discharge secretions and foreign bodies in the airway, achieve airway clearance, and improve gas exchange. In addition, the technique can prevent or alleviate many complications, thereby improving the clinical outcome of patients with inhalation injury. This article reviews the application of physical ACT in the field of inhalation injury, and to provide decision-making basis for clinical medical staff to choose physical ACT corresponding to the patient's condition.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the expression levels of differentiation cluster 47 (CD47), signal regulatory protein α (SIRP-α), proto-oncogene (MYC) and proliferating cell associated antigen (Ki67) proteins in peripheral blood circulating tumor cells (CTC) from patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and their predictive efficiency for tumor recurrence. Methods: The data of 82 patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma who were confirmed by histopathology and were in remission after chemotherapy in the Hematology Department of Linyi People's Hospital from January 2018 to January 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 44 males and 38 females, and aged from 50 to 75 (63.8±4.6) years. The patients were divided into recurrent group (n=36) and non-recurrent group (n=46) according to their recurrence within 1 year after remission. The fasting peripheral venous blood samples (4 ml) from patients in the morning were collected, and the CTC were isolated. The expression levels of CD47, SIRP-α, MYC and Ki67 proteins in CTC were detected by Western blotting. The correlations between CD47 expression level and SIRP-α, MYC and Ki67 expression levels were analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis. The predictive efficiency of CD47, SIRP-α, MYC and Ki67 expression levels on tumor recurrence was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, and the areas under the curve (AUC) were calculated. Results: The expression levels of CD47, SIRP-α, MYC and Ki67 in recurrent group were 2.24±0.23, 1.17±0.12, 1.98±0.20 and 2.63±0.27, while those in non-recurrent group were 2.04±0.21, 1.31±0.13, 1.53±0.16 and 2.24±0.25. The expression levels of CD47, MYC and Ki67 in the recurrent group were higher than those in the non-recurrent group, while the expression levels of SIRP-α were lower than those in the non-recurrent group (all P<0.001). In 82 patients, the expression levels of CD47, SIRP-α, MYC and Ki67 were 2.13±0.22, 1.25±0.13, 1.73±0.18 and 2.41±0.26, respectively. The expression level of CD47 was negatively correlated with the expression level of SIRP-α (r=-0.308, P=0.005), but positively correlated with the expression level of MYC and Ki67 (r=0.484 and 0.332, P=0.012 and 0.003). The sensitivity of CD47, SIRP-α, MYC and Ki67 expression levels in predicting recurrence of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was 66.7%, 72.2%, 72.2% and 66.7%, with the specificity of 67.4%, 71.7%, 67.4% and 71.7%, and AUC (95%CI) of 0.694 (0.582-0.791), 0.693 (0582-0.790), 0.714 (0.603-0.808) and 0.709 (0.598-0.804), respectively. The sensitivity of the combined detection of the above four indicators was 83.3%, with the specificity of 78.3% and the AUC (95%CI) of 0.864 (0.771-0.930), which was higher than those of the individual detection of each indicator (all P<0.05). Conclusions: The expression level of CD47 was negatively correlated with the expression level of SIRP-α, but positively correlated with the expression level of MYC and Ki67. The expression levels of CD47, SIRP-α, MYC and Ki67 have certain predictive value for tumor recurrence in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and the predictive efficiency of combined detection is higher than single indicator detection.

Abstract
Objective: The direction and intensity of population aging on the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in China from 1990 to 2019 were analyzed, and the burden of NCDs in 2050 was predicted. Methods: The disease-specific disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years of life lost (YLLs), and years lived with disability (YLDs) in the Chinese population from 1990 to 2019 were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Study. The differences in indicators from 1990 to 2019 were attributed to the contribution of age structure, population size, and all other causes. The Bayesian age-time-cohort models were used to predict DALYs from NCDs to 2050. Results: The absolute level of DALYs caused by NCDs increased by 7.460 million from 1990 to 2019, and the age structure contributed 186.0% (95% Uncertainty Intervals (UIs): 178.4%-193.6%), population size contributed 77.0% (95% UIs: 69.5%-80.8%), all other causes contributed -163.0% (95% UIs:-163.1%- -159.3%). DALYs caused by NCDs consist of 2.527 million YLLs and 4.934 million YLDs, in which the contribution of age structure to YLLs and YLDs was 414.6% (95% UIs: 396.2%-432.5%) and 69.1% (95% UIs: 66.7%-71.4%), respectively. From 2019 to 2050, the diseases with increased DALYs due to changes in age structure are cardiovascular diseases, neoplasms, chronic respiratory diseases, neurological disorders, sense organ diseases, diabetes and kidney diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, digestive diseases, mental disorders, and skin and subcutaneous diseases in descending order. Conclusions: From 1990 to 2019, except for skin and subcutaneous diseases, the burden of other NCDs attributable to population aging increased, mainly due to disability. By 2050, the burden of NCDsattributable to population aging will continue to rise.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Perianal fistulas, characterised as granulomatous inflammation of fistulas around the anal canal, are associated with significant morbidity resulting in a negative impact on quality of life and a tremendous burden to the healthcare system. Treatment of anal fistulas usually consists of anal surgery; however, results of closure rates are not satisfactory especially with complex perianal fistulas, after which many patients may suffer from anal incontinence. Recently, the administration of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) has shown promising efficacy. Herein, we aim to explore whether MSCs are effective for complex perianal fistulas and if they have either short-term, medium-term, long-term or over-long-term efficacy. Additionally, we want to elucidate whether factors such as drug dosage, MSC source, cell type, and disease aetiology influence treatment efficacy. We searched four online databases and analysed data based on information within the clinical trials registry. The outcomes of eligible trials were analysed with Review Manager 5.4.1. Relative risk and related 95% confidence interval were calculated to compare the effect between the MSCs and control groups. In addition, the Cochrane risk of bias tool was applied to evaluate the bias risk of eligible studies. Meta-analyses showed that therapy with MSCs was superior to conventional treatment for complex perianal fistulas in short-, long- and over-long-term follow-up phases. However, there was no statistical difference in treatment efficacy in the medium term between the two methods. Subgroup meta-analyses showed factors including cell type, cell source and cell dosage were superior compared to the control, but there was no significant difference between different experimental groups of those factors. Besides, local MSCs therapy has shown more promising results for fistulas as a result of Crohn's Disease (CD). Although we tend to maintain that MSCs therapy is effective for cryptoglandular fistulas equally, more studies are needed to confirm this conclusion in the future. SHORT CONCLUSION MSCs Transplantation could be a new therapeutic method for complex perianal fistulas of both cryptoglandular and CD origin showing high efficacy in the short-term to over-long-term phases, as well as high efficacy in sustained healing. The difference in cell types, cell sources and cell dosages did not influence MSCs' efficacy.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the treatment and maternal and fetal outcomes of pregnant women with aortic dissection (AD). Methods: The clinical data of 11 pregnant women with AD treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from January 1st, 2011 to August 1st, 2022 were collected, and their clinical characteristics, treatment plans and maternal and fetal outcomes were analyzed retrospectively. Results: (1) Clinical characteristics: the age of onset of 11 pregnant women with AD was (30±5) years old, and the week of pregnancy of onset was (31.4±8.0) weeks. Clinical manifestations: the main symptoms were sudden onset of chest and back pain or low back pain. Type of AD: 8 cases of Stanford type A, and 3 cases of type B. The aortic width was (42±11) mm. Diagnostic methods: the diagnosis of AD was confirmed by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), computed tomography angiography (CTA) or enhanced CT examination, among which 4 cases were confirmed by CTA examination, 4 cases by TTE examination, and 3 cases by enhanced CT examination. Laboratory results: white blood cell count was (15.4±8.7) ×109/L, neutrophil count was (13.5±8.5) ×109/L, the median D-dimer level was 2.7 mg/L (2.1-9.2 mg/L), and the median fibrin degradation products level was 12.0 mg/L (5.4-36.1 mg/L). (2) Treatments: all 11 patients were admitted to hospital in emergency. Before operation, the departments of cardiac surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics and anesthesiology cooperated to develop individualized treatment plan. Aortic surgery was performed in 11 pregnant women with AD. In 6 of them, pregnancy termination was performed at the same time as aortic surgery, and aortic surgery was performed after cesarean section. Four cases of pregnancy termination and aortic operation were performed by stages, including aortic operation after cesarean section in 2 cases, and cesarean section after aortic operation in 2 cases. One case (12+6 weeks of gestation) had spontaneous abortion on the day after aortic surgery. The gestational age of the 11 patients on pregnancy termination was (32.9±7.4) weeks. Aorta surgical methods: 7 patients received under extracorporeal circulation ascending aorta replacement ± aortic valve replacement ± coronary artery transplantation (or coronary artery bypass transplantation)± left and right coronary Cabrol + total arch replacement (or aortic arch replacement)± stent implantation, 1 patient received under extracorporeal circulation aortic root replacement, and 3 patients underwent aortic endoluminal isolation. (3) Maternal and fetal outcomes: among the 11 pregnant women with AD, 9 (9/11) survived, 2 (2/11) died with lower limb ischemia before the onset of the disease. A total of 10 newborns were born in 9 pregnant women after delivery (1 of them was twins), and the 2 cases were spontaneous abortion after aortic surgery in the first trimester (12+6 weeks) and fetal death after hysterotomy in the second trimester (26+3 weeks), respectively. Among the 10 surviving neonates, 3 were full-term infants and 7 were premature infants. The birth weight of newborn was (2 651±784) g. Respiratory distress syndrome was found in 6 cases. The newborns were followed up for (5.6±3.6) years after birth, and the infants developed well during the follow-up period. Conclusions: Pregnancy complicated with AD is dangerous, and chest and back pain is the main clinical manifestation of this disease. With early identification and selection of appropriate diagnostic methods, multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment, mother and children could obtain good outcomes.

Abstract
We present a new determination of the smallest neutrino mixing angle θ_{13} and the mass-squared difference Δm_{32}^{2} using a final sample of 5.55×10^{6} inverse beta-decay (IBD) candidates with the final-state neutron captured on gadolinium. This sample is selected from the complete dataset obtained by the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment in 3158 days of operation. Compared to the previous Daya Bay results, selection of IBD candidates has been optimized, energy calibration refined, and treatment of backgrounds further improved. The resulting oscillation parameters are sin^{2}2θ_{13}=0.0851±0.0024, Δm_{32}^{2}=(2.466±0.060)×10^{-3} eV^{2} for the normal mass ordering or Δm_{32}^{2}=-(2.571±0.060)×10^{-3} eV^{2} for the inverted mass ordering.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the current situation of long working hours exposure of couriers in Zhejiang Province, and to analyze the influence of long working hours exposure levels on their occupational stress and depression symptoms, and provide a basis for promoting the physical and mental health of couriers. Methods: From September to December 2021 , 1159 couriers from Zhejiang Express Transport Companies were selected as respondents by cluster sampling, and their basic information were collected. The occupational stress and depression symptoms of the couriers were assessed using the Core Occupational Stress Scale (COSS) and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). The effects of long work hours (>48 h per week) on the occupational stress and depression symptoms of the couriers were analyzed. Results: The average age of 1159 courier in Zhejiang Province was (33.24±8.42) years, the average weekly working hours were (63.21±18.77) h, and 75.15% (871/1159) were long-term workers. The detection rates of occupational stress and depression symptoms in courier were 32.44% (376/1159) and 32.53% (377/1159), respectively. There were significant differences in the detection rates of occupational stress and depression symptoms among couriers with different ages, educational background, marital status, monthly average income, length of service, position or post, shift status, drinking status, and average weekly working hours (P <0.05). The adjusted logistic regression analysis showed that, after adjusting for the influence of confounding factors such as age, educational background, marital status, monthly average income, length of service, position or post, shift status and drinking status, compared with the weekly working hours ≤48 h, weekly working hours of 63-77 h, 78-92 h, ≥93 h were the risk factors for occupational stress (OR=1.547, 95%CI: 1.019-2.350; OR=1.886, 95%CI: 1.184-3.006; OR=2.338, 95%CI: 1.188-4.062) and depression symptoms (OR=1.897, 95%CI: 1.258-2.860; OR=2.041, 95%CI: 1.290-3.230; OR=4.978, 95%CI: 2.551-9.715) of couriers (P<0.05) . Conclusion: Long working hours could increase the risk of occupational stress and depression symptoms among couriers. It is necessary to arrange working hours reasonably to reduce the occurrence of occupational stress and depression symptoms of couriers.

Abstract
A significant proportion of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) who undergo percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) suffer from physical and mental disorders which lead to the decline of sleep profile. Sleep disorders are highly prevalent in these patients. But the effect of sleep on the outcomes of post-PCI patients remains unclear. We aim to examine the individual and joint effects of sleep quality and sleep duration on the risk of adverse cardiovascular events in post-PCI patients. We included 314 participants who were diagnosed with a first CAD and underwent PCI with drug-eluting stents and followed up for a mean duration of 341 days to assess major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs). Sleep quality, based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, was categorized as good (a score of ≤7) or poor (>7). Sleep duration was categorized into three classes: ≤ 5, 6-8 (reference group) and ≥ 9 hours per day. The log-rank test and the Cox regression model were used for data analysis. MACEs occurred in 26 (8.3%) patients. Subjects whose sleep duration was ≤ 5 hours per day had a shorter time to MACEs than those whose sleep duration was 6-8 hours (p = 0.036). A significantly increased risk for MACEs was observed for participants with a ≤ 5 hours sleep duration (HR = 2.18, 95% CI = 1.02-4.64) after adjustment for demographic and clinical confounders. Associations between long sleep duration (≥ 9 hours), sleep quality, or their joint effect and MACEs were not found. This suggests the importance of considering sleep loss when developing strategies to improve health outcomes of PCI patients. And further researches are needed to examine the effects of different aspects of sleep quality on the prognosis of PCI patients and explore the reasons that lead to the decline of sleep profile.

Abstract
Groundnut or peanut (Arachis hypogaea) is a legume crop. Its seeds are rich in protein and oil. Aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH, EC: 1.2.1.3) is an important enzyme involved in detoxification of aldehyde and cellular reactive oxygen species, as well as in attenuation of lipid peroxidation-meditated cellular toxicity under stress conditions. However, few studies have been identified and analyzed about ALDH members in Arachis hypogaea. In the present study, 71 members of the ALDH superfamily (AhALDH) were identified using the reference genome obtained from the Phytozome database. A systematic analysis of the evolutionary relationship, motif, gene structure, cis-acting elements, collinearity, Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment, and expression patterns was conducted to understand the structure and function of AhALDHs. AhALDHs exhibited tissue-specific expression, and quantitative real-time PCR identified significant differences in the expression levels of AhALDH members under saline-alkali stress. The results revealed that some AhALDHs members could be involved in response to abiotic stress. Our findings on AhALDHs provide insights for further study.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Melatonin is a multipotent molecule that exists widely in animals and plants and plays an active regulatory role in abiotic stresses. The B3 superfamily is a ubiquitous transcription factor with a B3 functional domain in plants, which can respond temporally to abiotic stresses by activating defense compounds and plant hormones. Despite the fact that the B3 genes have been studied in a variety of plants, their role in soybean is still unknown. METHODS The regulation of melatonin on cold resistance of soybean and the response of B3 genes to cold stress were investigated by measuring biochemical indexes of soybean. Meanwhile, the genome-wide identification of B3 gene family was conducted in soybean, and B3 genes were analyzed based on phylogeny, motifs, gene structure, collinearity, and cis-regulatory elements analysis. RESULTS We found that cold stress-induced oxidative stress in soybean by producing excessive reactive oxygen species. However, exogenous melatonin treatment could increase the content of endogenous melatonin and other hormones, including IAA and ABA, and enhance the antioxidative system, such as POD activity, CAT activity, and GSH/GSSG, to scavenge ROS. Furthermore, the present study first revealed that melatonin could alleviate the response of soybean to cold stress by inducing the expression of B3 genes. In addition, we first identified 145 B3 genes in soybean that were unevenly distributed on 20 chromosomes. The B3 gene family was divided into 4 subgroups based on the phylogeny tree constructed with protein sequence and a variety of plant hormones and stress response cis-elements were discovered in the promoter region of the B3 genes, indicating that the B3 genes were involved in several aspects of the soybean stress response. Transcriptome analysis and results of qRT-PCR revealed that most GmB3 genes could be induced by cold, the expression of which was also regulated by melatonin. We also found that B3 genes responded to cold stress in plants by interacting with other transcription factors. DISCUSSION We found that melatonin regulates the response of soybean to cold stress by regulating the expression of the transcription factor B3 gene, and we identified 145 B3 genes in soybean. These findings further elucidate the potential role of the B3 gene family in soybean to resist low-temperature stress and provide valuable information for soybean functional genomics study.

Machine learning-based multimodal MRI texture analysis for assessing renal function and fibrosis in diabetic nephropathy: a retrospective study. Front Endocrinol (Lausanne) 2023; 14:1050078. [PMID: 37139339 PMCID: PMC10150993 DOI: 10.3389/fendo.2023.1050078] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Figures] [Journal Information] [Submit a Manuscript] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 10/12/2022] [Accepted: 02/28/2023] [Indexed: 05/05/2023] Open
Abstract
Introduction Diabetic nephropathy (DN) has become a major public health burden in China. A more stable method is needed to reflect the different stages of renal function impairment. We aimed to determine the possible practicability of machine learning (ML)-based multimodal MRI texture analysis (mMRI-TA) for assessing renal function in DN. Methods For this retrospective study, 70 patients (between 1 January 2013 and 1 January 2020) were included and randomly assigned to the training cohort (n1 = 49) and the testing cohort (n2 = 21). According to the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), patients were assigned into the normal renal function (normal-RF) group, the non-severe renal function impairment (non-sRI) group, and the severe renal function impairment (sRI) group. Based on the largest coronal image of T2WI, the speeded up robust features (SURF) algorithm was used for texture feature extraction. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and relief and recursive feature elimination (RFE) were applied to select the important features and then support vector machine (SVM), logistic regression (LR), and random forest (RF) algorithms were used for the model construction. The values of area under the curve (AUC) on receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were used to assess their performance. The robust T2WI model was selected to construct a multimodal MRI model by combining the measured BOLD (blood oxygenation level-dependent) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) values. Results The mMRI-TA model achieved robust and excellent performance in classifying the sRI group, non-sRI group, and normal-RF group, with an AUC of 0.978 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.963, 0.993), 0.852 (95% CI: 0.798, 0.902), and 0.972 (95% CI: 0.995, 1.000), respectively, in the training cohort and 0.961 (95% CI: 0.853, 1.000), 0.809 (95% CI: 0.600, 0.980), and 0.850 (95% CI: 0.638, 0.988), respectively, in the testing cohort. Discussion The model built from multimodal MRI on DN outperformed other models in assessing renal function and fibrosis. Compared to the single T2WI sequence, mMRI-TA can improve the performance in assessing renal function.

Genome-wide identification of the soybean cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase gene family and its diverse roles in response to multiple abiotic stress. FRONTIERS IN PLANT SCIENCE 2023; 14:1163219. Abstract
Cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase (CKX) irreversibly degrades cytokinin, regulates growth and development, and helps plants to respond to environmental stress. Although the CKX gene has been well characterized in various plants, its role in soybean remains elusive. Therefore, in this study, the evolutionary relationship, chromosomal location, gene structure, motifs, cis-regulatory elements, collinearity, and gene expression patterns of GmCKXs were analyzed using RNA-seq, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), and bioinformatics. We identified 18 GmCKX genes from the soybean genome and grouped them into five clades, each comprising members with similar gene structures and motifs. Cis-acting elements involved in hormones, resistance, and physiological metabolism were detected in the promoter regions of GmCKXs. Synteny analysis indicated that segmental duplication events contributed to the expansion of the soybean CKX family. The expression profiling of the GmCKXs genes using qRT-PCR showed tissue-specific expression patterns. The RNA-seq analysis also indicated that GmCKXs play an important role in response to salt and drought stresses at the seedling stage. The responses of the genes to salt, drought, synthetic cytokinin 6-benzyl aminopurine (6-BA), and the auxin indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) at the germination stage were further evaluated by qRT-PCR. Specifically, the GmCKX14 gene was downregulated in the roots and the radicles at the germination stage. The hormones 6-BA and IAA repressed the expression levels of GmCKX1, GmCKX6, and GmCKX9 genes but upregulated the expression levels of GmCKX10 and GmCKX18 genes. The three abiotic stresses also decreased the zeatin content in soybean radicle but enhanced the activity of the CKX enzymes. Conversely, the 6-BA and IAA treatments enhanced the CKX enzymes' activity but reduced the zeatin content in the radicles. This study, therefore, provides a reference for the functional analysis of GmCKXs in soybean in response to abiotic stresses.

Abstract
Background Hypertensive patients have a younger trend, and studies on the role of genetic factors in hypertension susceptibility have been inconsistent. Aldehyde dehydrogenases 2 (ALDH2) and apolipoprotein E (APOE) are involved in the pathophysiological processes of hypertension. To investigate the relationship of ALDH2 and APOE polymorphisms with hypertension in middle-aged (30-59 years old) and elderly (≥60 years old) persons. Methods Two thousand six hundred and ten hypertensive patients and 1921 controls were included (between 30 and 100 years old). The genotypes of common polymorphisms in APOE and ALDH2 genes (APOE rs429358, rs7412, and ALDH2 rs671) of the subjects were analyzed by polymerase-chain reaction (PCR)-microarray. Statistical analyses (Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney U-test, χ 2 test, and logistic regression analysis) were performed with SPSS v21.0. Results There were 4531 participants (66.60 ± 12.10 years old) in this study, including 3057 (67.5%) males and 1474 (32.5%) females. There were no significant differences in distributions of ALDH2 rs671, APOE rs429358/rs7412 genotypes and alleles between hypertensive patients and controls. Persons with ALDH2 rs671 G/A or A/A genotype were less likely to have hypertension (G/A+A/A vs G/G: gender-, age-, smoking-, and drinking-adjusted OR 0.885, 95% CI 0.785-0.997, P=0.045), while ALDH2 rs671 A/A+APOE rs429358 or rs7412 wild-type genotype may decrease the risk of hypertension. In middle-aged group, ALDH2 rs671 G/A+APOE rs429358 T/C carriers (adjusted OR 0.547, 95% CI 0.350-0.856, P=0.008), and ALDH2 rs671 A/A+APOE rs7412 C/C genotypes (adjusted OR 0.567, 95% CI 0.361-0.891, P=0.014) were less likely to have hypertension. In elderly group, APOE rs7412 T/T carriers were more likely to have hypertension (rs671 T/T vs C/C: adjusted OR 4.755, 95% CI 1.075-21.027, P=0.040; rs671 T/T vs C/C or C/T: adjusted OR 4.734, 95% CI 1.071-20.928, P=0.040). Conclusion Polymorphism-polymorphism interactions of ALDH2 rs671 and APOE rs429358/rs7412 may effect on hypertension susceptibility. Different genotypes comparison shows different roles in middle-aged and elderly people, respectively.

Abstract
Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSC) have shown promising potential in ameliorating brain injury, but the mechanism is unclear. We explore the role of NogoA/NgR/Rho pathway in mediating hUCMSC to improve neurobehavioral status and alleviate brain injury in hypoxia/ischemia-induced CP (cerebral palsy) rat model in order to promote the clinical application of stem cell therapy in CP. The injury model of HT22 cells was established after 3 h hypoxia, and then co-cultured with hUCMSC. The rat model of CP was established by ligation of the left common carotid artery for 2.5 h. Subsequently, hUCMSC was administered via the tail vein once a week for a total of four times. The neurobehavioral status of CP rats was determined by behavioral experiment, and the pathological brain injury was determined by pathological staining method. The mRNA and protein expressions of NogoA, NgR, RhoA, Rac1, and CDC42 in brain tissues of rats in all groups and cell groups were detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), Western blot, and immunofluorescence. The CP rats exhibited obvious motor function abnormalities and pathological damage. Compared with the control group, hUCMSC transplantation could significantly improve the neurobehavioral situation and attenuate brain pathological injury in CP rats. The relative expression of NogoA, NgR, RhoA mRNA, and protein in brain tissues of rats in the CP group was significantly higher than the rats in the sham and CP+hUCMSC group. The relative expression of Rac1, CDC42 mRNA, and protein in brain tissues of rats in the CP group was significantly lower than the rats in the sham and CP+hUCMSC group. The animal experiment results were consistent with the experimental trend of hypoxic injury of HT22 cells. This study confirmed that hUCMSC can efficiently improve neurobehavioral status and alleviate brain injury in hypoxia/ischemia-induced CP rat model and HT22 cell model through downregulating the NogoA/NgR/Rho pathway.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the effect of selective bronchial occlusion (SBO) in the treatment of intractable pneumothorax. Methods: A total of 86 patients with refractory pneumothorax treated with SBO in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021 were included in this study. The basic information, diagnosis and treatment of the patients were collected and analyzed based on their inpatient records. Results: The age of the subjects was (62±11) years old, and 83 cases (96.5%) were male. The first time SBO cure rate was 30.2% (26/86). The effective rate of the first time SBO treatment was 38.4% (33/86), and the final cure rate of SBO was 59.3% (51/86). The total cure rate of SBO combined with other therapies was 73.3% (63/86). The median time [M (Q1, Q3)] from the first plugging to the complete cessation of air leakage in SBO cured patients was 6.5 (3, 7) days, which was shorter than that in the final extubation patients after SBO [11 (7, 19) days] (H=30.24, P<0.001). The median [M (Q1, Q3)] length of hospital stay of the first SBO cured patients was 19 (14, 25) days, which was shorter than that of all patients [28 (19, 37) days] (H=12.89, P=0.002). The median [M (Q1, Q3)] hospitalization expenses of patients with first SBO cure, effective SBO treatment and ineffective SBO treatment were 23 187 (18 906, 27 798), 41 580 (29 388, 50 762) and 38 462 (27 542, 51 720) yuan, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (H=18.58, P<0.001). The incidence of complications after SBO was 7.59% (11/145). Conclusion: SBO has good efficacy and relative high safety in the treatment of intractable pneumothorax.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of endovascular treatment (EVT) in patients with secondary coma following acute basilar artery occlusion (comatose patients) and to identify the impact of the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score on medical decisions. METHODS Patients from the Endovascular Treatment for Acute Basilar Artery Occlusion study were divided into comatose and noncomatose cohorts. The primary outcome was favorable functional independence (modified Rankin Scale [mRS] scores 0-3). The safety outcome was 90-day mortality. Subgroup analysis was performed to identify populations best suited for EVT. Multivariate logistic regression was used to identify independent predictive factors of clinical outcomes. RESULTS Comatose patients who underwent EVT had more favorable functional outcomes and lower mortality compared with those who underwent standard medical treatment (functional outcomes: 15.98% vs 4.17%; mortality: 62.72% vs 82.29%). Moreover, EVT was associated with better outcomes in the cohort with GCS scores of 6-8 (mRS scores 0-3, 25.33% and mortality, 41.33%) than in the cohort with GCS scores of 3-5. Multivariate analysis indicated that EVT was an independent factor for favorable functional outcomes (adjusted OR 8.921, 95% CI 2.330-34.158) and mortality (adjusted OR 0.189, 95% CI 0.092-0.411) in comatose patients. The initial GCS score was an independent factor for favorable functional outcomes (adjusted OR 1.402, 95% CI 1.115-1.763) and mortality (adjusted OR 0.613, 95% CI 0.499-0.752) in comatose patients with EVT. CONCLUSIONS EVT significantly improved the prognosis of comatose patients, and patients with GCS scores of 6-8 were found to benefit more from EVT than those with GCS scores of 3-5. The initial GCS score was an independent predictive factor for prognosis in comatose patients.

Abstract
Heterozygous variants in the hepatocyte nuclear factor 1a (HNF1a) cause MODY3 (maturity-onset diabetes of the young, type 3). In this study, we found a case of novel HNF1a p.Gln125* (HNF1a-Q125ter) variant clinically. However, the molecular mechanism linking the new HNF1a variant to impaired islet β-cell function remains unclear. Firstly, a similar HNF1a-Q125ter variant in zebrafish (hnf1a+/−) was generated by CRISPR/Cas9. We further crossed hnf1a+/− with several zebrafish reporter lines to investigate pancreatic β-cell function. Next, we introduced HNF1a-Q125ter and HNF1a shRNA plasmids into the Ins-1 cell line and elucidated the molecular mechanism. hnf1a+/− zebrafish significantly decreased the β-cell number, insulin expression, and secretion. Moreover, β cells in hnf1a+/− dilated ER lumen and increased the levels of ER stress markers. Similar ER-stress phenomena were observed in an HNF1a-Q125ter-transfected Ins-1 cell. Follow-up investigations demonstrated that HNF1a-Q125ter induced ER stress through activating the PERK/eIF2a/ATF4 signaling pathway. Our study found a novel loss-of-function HNF1a-Q125ter variant which induced β-cell dysfunction by activating ER stress via the PERK/eIF2a/ATF4 signaling pathway.

Abstract
Biomass burning (BB) is an important contributor to the air pollution in Southeast Asia (SEA), but the emission sources remain great uncertainty. In this study, PM2.5 samples were collected from an urban (Chiang Mai University, CMU) and a rural (Nong Tao village, NT) site in Chiang Mai, Thailand from February to April (high BB season, HBB) and from June to September (low BB season, LBB) in 2018. Source apportionment of carbonaceous aerosols was carried out by Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) method incorporating the radiocarbon (14C) and organic markers (e.g., dehydrated sugars, aromatic acids, etc.). Thereby, carbonaceous aerosols were divided into the fossil-derived elemental carbon (ECf), BB-derived EC (ECbb), fossil-derived primary and secondary organic carbon (POCf, SOCf), BB-derived OC (OCbb) and the remaining OC (OCnf, other). The fractions of ECbb generally prevailed over ECf throughout the year. OCbb was the dominant contributor to total carbon with a clear seasonal trend (65.5 ± 5.8 % at CMU and 79.9 ± 7.6 % at NT in HBB, and 39.1 ± 7.9 % and 42.8 ± 4.6 % in LBB). The distribution of POCf showed a spatial difference with a higher contribution at CMU, while SOCf displayed a temporal variation with a greater fraction in LBB. OCnf, other was originated from biogenic secondary aerosols, cooking emissions and bioaerosols as resolved by the principal component analysis with multiple liner regression model. The OCnf, other contributed within a narrow range of 6.6 %-14.4 %, despite 34.9 ± 7.9 % at NT in LBB. Our results highlight the dominance of BB-derived fractions in carbonaceous aerosols in HBB, and call the attention to the higher production of SOC in LBB.

Abstract
A liquid crystal (LC) lenticular lens array with auxiliary electrodes is proposed. The introduction of the auxiliary electrodes helps to obtain an LC lens array (LCLA) with relatively large aperture without complex structures. When the LCLA is in the focusing state, the voltage of auxiliary electrodes is less than that of edge electrodes, and the generated electric field in the LCLA can penetrate into the LC layer. Therefore, the ideal phase profile is obtained with a relatively thin LC layer thickness. Experimental results show that the LCLA has the characteristics of high optical power and low operation voltage. Based on the proposed LCLA, a multi-view 2D/3D switchable display is realized. In the experiment, a series of parallax images is obtained by rotating the sample to replace the convergence shooting method for 3D imaging. Compared with other 2D/3D switchable display devices, the multi-view 2D/3D switchable display based on the LCLA is characterized by being thin and compact, and displaying no moiré pattern.

Abstract
This Letter reports the first measurement of high-energy reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay, with nearly 9000 inverse beta decay candidates in the prompt energy region of 8-12 MeV observed over 1958 days of data collection. A multivariate analysis is used to separate 2500 signal events from background statistically. The hypothesis of no reactor antineutrinos with neutrino energy above 10 MeV is rejected with a significance of 6.2 standard deviations. A 29% antineutrino flux deficit in the prompt energy region of 8-11 MeV is observed compared to a recent model prediction. We provide the unfolded antineutrino spectrum above 7 MeV as a data-based reference for other experiments. This result provides the first direct observation of the production of antineutrinos from several high-Q_{β} isotopes in commercial reactors.

Investigation on knowledge level about rational use of antimicrobial drugs among pharmacists in medical institutions in Shanxi province, China. Public Health 2022; 209:67-72. [PMID: 35839623 DOI: 10.1016/j.puhe.2022.05.020] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 10/29/2021] [Revised: 05/03/2022] [Accepted: 05/26/2022] [Indexed: 10/17/2022]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the pharmacist's knowledge about rational use of antimicrobials in Shanxi of China, so as to find out the problems and provide support for the management of antimicrobials. METHODS A questionnaire survey was conducted, which included the basic information of the respondents, the basic knowledge about antimicrobial management and the related knowledge about antimicrobial drugs. SPSS 25.0 was used for statistical analysis. RESULTS A total of 462 pharmacists were investigated. The average score of the knowledge related to rational use of antimicrobials was 10.49 ± 4.05. It showed that the hospital type, grade, pharmacist's education, professional title and years of experience had effect on the pharmacist's knowledge level about antimicrobial drugs (P < 0.05). Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that hospital grade and pharmacist's education were the main influencing factors (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Pharmacists have insufficient knowledge about the rational use of antibacterial drugs. It is essential to strengthen the training in management regulations and application of antibacterial drugs.
