Abstract
BACKGROUND Atherosclerotic plaque locations in the carotid bulb increasingly have been found to be associated with patterns of ischemic lesions and plaque progression. However, the occurrence of carotid bulb plaque is a complex process. We aimed to investigate plaque characteristics and geometric and hemodynamic parameters among patients with body and apical plaques of the carotid bulb and to identify the mechanism of bulb plaque formation and location. METHODS Consecutive patients with single carotid bulb stenosis (50-99%) were enrolled retrospectively. Patients were divided into body and apical plaque groups based on plaque location. Plaque location and characteristics were identified and measured on high-resolution vessel wall magnetic resonance imaging. Geometric parameters were derived from time-of-flight magnetic resonance imaging. Computational fluid dynamics simulations were performed to quantify wall shear stress (WSS) and four associated WSS-based metrics on the plaque side, on the non-plaque side, and in different parts of the lesion. Plaque characteristics and geometric and hemodynamic parameters were compared, and their associations with the plaque location were determined. RESULTS Seventy patients were recruited (41 body plaques and 29 apical plaques). WSSplaque values were lower than WSSnon-plaque values for all plaques (median [interquartile range], 12.59 [9.83-22.14] vs. 17.27 [11.63-27.63] Pa, p = 0.001). In a multivariate binary logistic regression, the tortuosity of the stenosed region, the magnitudes of the mean relative residence time, and the minimum transverse WSS in the proximal part of the lesion were the key factors independently associated with plaque location (p = 0.022, 0.013, and 0.012, respectively). CONCLUSIONS Plaque formation was associated with the local flow pattern, and the tortuosity and proximal-specific hemodynamics were significantly associated with plaque location in the carotid bulb.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the expression and localization of metabotropic glutamate receptors 7 and 8 (mGluR7/8) in rat superior cervical ganglion (SCG) and their changes in response to chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH). METHODS We detected the expressions of mGluR7 and mGluR8 in the SCG of 8-week-old male SD rats using immunohistochemistry and characterized their distribution with immunofluorescence staining. The expression of mGluR7 and mGluR8 in the cytoplasm and nucleus was detected using Western blotting. A 6-week CIH rat model was established by exposure to intermittent hypoxia (6% oxygen for 30 s followed by normoxia for 4 min) for 8 h daily, and the changes in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure were measured. The effect of CIH on expression levels of mGluR7 and mGluR8 in the SCG was analyzed using Western blotting. RESULTS Positive expressions of mGluR7 and mGluR8 were detected in rat SCG. mGluR7 was distributed in the neurons and small fluorescent (SIF) cells with positive staining in both the cytoplasm and nuclei, but not expressed in satellite glial cells (SGCs), nerve fibers or blood vessels; mGluR8 was localized in the cytoplasm of neurons and SIF cells, but not expressed in SGCs, nerve fibers, or blood vessels. Western blotting of the nuclear and cytoplasmic fractions of rat SCG further confirmed that mGluR7 was expressed in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus, while mGluR8 exists only in the cytoplasm. Exposure to CIH significantly increased systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure of the rats (all P < 0.001) and augmented the protein expressions of mGluR7 and mGluR8 in the SCG (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION mGluR7 and mGluR8 are present in rat SCG but with different localization patterns. CIH increases blood pressure of rats and enhanced protein expressions of mGluR7 and mGluR8 in rat SCG.

Abstract
Skin infections are major threats to human health, causing ∼500 incidences per 10 000 person-year. In patients with diabetes mellitus, particularly, skin infections are often accompanied by a slow healing process, amputation, and even death. Timely diagnosis of skin infection strains and on-site therapy are vital in human health and safety. Herein, a double-layered "test-to-treat" pad is developed for the visual monitoring and selective treatment of drug-sensitive (DS)/drug-resistant (DR) bacterial infections. The inner layer (using carrageenan hydrogel as a scaffold) is loaded with bacteria indicators and an acid-responsive drug (Fe-carbenicillin frameworks) for infection detection and DS bacteria inactivation. The outer layer is a mechanoluminescence material (ML, CaZnOS:Mn2+) and visible-light responsive photocatalyst (Pt@TiO2) incorporated elastic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). On the basis of the colorimetric sensing result (yellow for DS-bacterial infection and red for DR-bacterial infection), a suitable antibacterial strategy is guided and then performed. Two available bactericidal routes provided by double pad layers reflect the advantage. The controllable and effective killing of DR bacteria is realized by in situ generated reactive oxygen species (ROSs) from the combination of Pt@TiO2 and ML under mechanical force, avoiding physical light sources and alleviating off-target side effects of ROS in biomedical therapy. As a proof-of-concept, the "test-to-treat" pad is applied as a wearable wound dressing for sensing and selectively dealing with DS/DR bacterial infections in vitro and in vivo. This multifunctional design effectively reduces antibiotic abuse and accelerates wound healing, providing an innovative and promising Band-Aid strategy in point-of-care diagnosis and therapy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Highly predictive markers of drug treatment outcomes of tuberous sclerosis complex-related epilepsy are a key unmet clinical need. The objective of this study was to identify meaningful clinical and radiomic predictors of outcomes of epilepsy drug treatment in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 105 children with tuberous sclerosis complex-related epilepsy were enrolled in this retrospective study. The pretreatment baseline predictors that were used to predict drug treatment outcomes included patient demographic and clinical information, gene data, electroencephalogram data, and radiomic features that were extracted from pretreatment MR imaging scans. The Spearman correlation coefficient and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator were calculated to select the most relevant features for the drug treatment outcome to build a comprehensive model with radiomic and clinical features for clinical application. RESULTS Four MR imaging-based radiomic features and 5 key clinical features were selected to predict the drug treatment outcome. Good discriminative performances were achieved in testing cohorts (area under the curve = 0.85, accuracy = 80.0%, sensitivity = 0.75, and specificity = 0.83) for the epilepsy drug treatment outcome. The model of radiomic and clinical features resulted in favorable calibration curves in all cohorts. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggested that the radiomic and clinical features model may predict the epilepsy drug treatment outcome. Age of onset, infantile spasms, antiseizure medication numbers, epileptiform discharge in left parieto-occipital area of electroencephalography, and gene mutation type are the key clinical factors to predict the epilepsy drug treatment outcome. The texture and first-order statistic features are the most valuable radiomic features for predicting drug treatment outcomes.

Abstract
On-chip polarization control is in high demand for novel integrated photonic applications such as polarization division multiplexing and quantum communications. However, due to the sensitive scaling of the device dimension with wavelength and the visible-light absorption properties, traditional passive silicon photonic devices with asymmetric waveguide structures cannot achieve polarization control at visible wavelengths. In this paper, a new polarization-splitting mechanism based on energy distributions of the fundamental polarized modes in the r-TiO2 ridge waveguide is investigated. The bending loss for different bending radii and the optical coupling properties of the fundamental modes in different r-TiO2 ridge waveguide configurations are analyzed. In particular, a polarization splitter with a high extinction ratio operating at visible wavelengths based on directional couplers (DCs) in the r-TiO2 ridge waveguide is proposed. Polarization-selective filters based on micro-ring resonators (MRRs) with resonances of only TE or TM polarizations are designed and operated. Our results show that polarization-splitters for visible wavelengths with a high extinction ratio in DC or MRR configurations can be achieved with a simple r-TiO2 ridge waveguide structure.

Abstract
China is rich in antimony, boron, and vanadium mineral resources, which have been detected in environmental water bodies and drinking water. During the revision process of the "Standards for Drinking Water Quality (GB5749-2006)", research and evaluation are focused on three indicators: antimony, boron and vanadium. Vanadium is added and the limit value of boron is adjusted. This study reviews and discusses the technical contents related to the revision of the antimony, boron and vanadium, including the environmental presence levels, exposure status, health effects, and the revision of the standard limits of these three indicators. Suggestions are also made for the implementation of this standard.

Abstract
The Chinese tapertail anchovy, Coilia nasus, is a socioeconomically important anadromous fish that migrates from near ocean waters to freshwater to spawn every spring. The analysis of genomic architecture and information of C. nasus were hindered by the previously released versions of reference genomes with gaps. Here, we report the assembly of a chromosome-level gap-free genome of C. nasus by incorporating high-coverage and accurate long-read sequence data with multiple assembly strategies. All 24 chromosomes were assembled without gaps, representing the highest completeness and assembly quality. We assembled the genome with a size of 851.67 Mb and used BUSCO to estimate the completeness of the assembly as 92.5%. Using a combination of de novo prediction, protein homology and RNA-seq annotation, 21,900 genes were functionally annotated, representing 99.68% of the total predicted protein-coding genes. The availability of gap-free reference genomes for C. nasus will provide the opportunity for understanding genome structure and function, and will also lay a solid foundation for further management and conservation of this important species.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the present situation, efficacy and safety of immunotherapy in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM). Methods: The data of 39 patients with MPM in two centers from 2016 to 2021 were collected and the efficacy and safety were evaluated. According to the application of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), these patients, whose median clinical follow-up amounting to 18.97 months, were divided into immunotherapy group (19 cases) and control group (20 cases). Kaplan-Meier method and Log-rank test were used for the survival analysis. Results: The objective response rate (ORR) and the disease control rate (DCR) in the immunotherapy group is 21.05% and 79.0% respectively, compared with 10.0% and 55.0% in the control group; and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The median overall survival (OS) in the immunotherapy group was significantly longer than that in the control group (14.53 months vs 7.07 months, P=0.015), but there was no significant difference in the median progression free survival (PFS) between two groups (4.80 months vs 2.03 months, P=0.062). Single factor survival analysis showed that the nature of pleural effusion, pathological subtype and the efficacy of immunotherapy were related to both PFS and OS of the patients with MPM (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in immunotherapy group was 89.5% (17 out of 19 cases), and the most common adverse event was hematological toxicity (9 cases), followed by nausea and vomiting (7 cases), fatigue (6 cases) and skin damage (6 cases). Five patients had immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) related adverse reactions with grade 1-2. Conclusions: Patients with MPM have begun to receive immunotherapy in more than 2-line mainly combined chemotherapy in the real world, and the median treatment line is 2-line. Either combined with chemotherapy or anti-angiogenesis therapy, ICI inhibitors have significant efficacy, controllable adverse events and good clinical value.

Abstract
Background Spinal motoneurons may become hyperexcitable after a stroke. Knowledge about motoneuron hyperexcitability remains clinically important as it may contribute to a number of phenomena including spasticity, flexion synergies, and abnormal limb postures. Hyperexcitability seems to occur more often in muscles that flex the wrist and fingers (forearm flexors) compared to other upper limb muscles. The cause of hyperexcitability remains uncertain but may involve plastic changes in motoneurons and their axons. Aim To characterize intrinsic membrane properties of flexor carpi radialis (FCR) motor axons after stroke using nerve excitability testing. Methods Nerve excitability testing using threshold tracking techniques was applied to characterize FCR motor axon properties in persons who suffered a first-time unilateral cortical/subcortical stroke 23 to 308 days earlier. The median nerve was stimulated at the elbow bilaterally in 16 male stroke subjects (51.4 ± 2.9 y) with compound muscle action potentials recorded from the FCR. Nineteen age-matched males (52.7 ± 2.4 y) were also tested to serve as controls. Results Axon parameters after stroke were consistent with bilateral hyperpolarization of the resting potential. Nonparetic and paretic side axons were modeled by a 2.6-fold increase in pump currents (IPumpNI) together with an increase (38%-33%) in internodal leak conductance (GLkI) and a decrease (23%-29%) in internodal H conductance (Ih) relative to control axons. A decrease (14%) in Na+ channel inactivation rate (Aah) was also needed to fit the paretic axon recovery cycle. "Fanning out" of threshold electrotonus and the resting I/V slope (stroke limbs combined) correlated with blood potassium [K+] (R = -0.61 to 0.62, p< 0.01) and disability (R = -0.58 to 0.55, p < 0.05), but not with spasticity, grip strength, or maximal FCR activity. Conclusion In contrast to our expectations, FCR axons were not hyperexcitable after stroke. Rather, FCR axons were found to be hyperpolarized bilaterally post stroke, and this was associated with disability and [K+]. Reduced FCR axon excitability may represent a kind of bilateral trans-synaptic homeostatic mechanism that acts to minimize motoneuron hyperexcitability.

Abstract
Anterior chamber paracentesis (ACP) is a commonly used ophthalmic technique with broad clinical applications. It plays an important role in the diagnosis of intraocular infections, vitreoretinal lymphoma, and other diseases. However, the current ACP methods used in clinical practice have some issues and potential risks. There is no unified standard for the procedural steps, environment, and perioperative management. Therefore, this article provides a systematic review of various methods and devices for ACP and briefly summarizes the current clinical ACP environment, perioperative management, and safety considerations. The aim of this review is to provide insights into the current status and future prospects of ACP, with the goal of optimizing the safety and efficacy of this technique.

Abstract
Chiral recognition is a crucial issue in the biomedical and pharmaceutical research communities. Due to the need for expensive equipment, reagents, and external energy, enantiomer identification is difficult to perform outside of a laboratory. Based on water evaporation-induced hydrovoltaic effect, a power-free sensing platform with sensitive chiral recognition capability is proposed for the discrimination of enantiomers. The chiral recognizer was bovine serum albumin (BSA), a naturally occurring protein. Using arginine (Arg) enantiomers as the sensing targets, the difference in enantioselectivity between l-Arg and d-Arg on a BSA-modified porous carbon substrate can be measured directly from the output voltage. By combining the cyclization reaction between NO and O-phenylenediamine (OPD), it has been discovered that the sensitivity and specificity of enantioselective identification can be significantly enhanced based on the surface charges. The limit of detection (LOD) could be as low as 76.0 nM. In addition, the proposed chips are extremely flexible and can function under deformation without sacrificing output performance. This self-powered chiral recognition chip paves a new path for the detection of chiral molecules at any time, any place, and it also has excellent potential for use in flexible wearable technology.

Abstract
With the rapid development of intensive aquaculture, the considerable release of nitrogenous organic compounds has become a serious threat to aquatic organisms. Currently, isolating autochthonous aerobic denitrifying bacteria (ADB) from aquaculture environments is essential for the biological elimination of nitrogenous pollutants. In this study, the enrichment of ADB from shrimp pond water and sediment samples was conducted under different shaking durations. The absolute abundance of total bacteria, nosZ-type, and the napA-type ADB was measured using qPCR. High-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA, nosZ, and napA genes was performed to reveal the community structure of bacteria and ADB, respectively. Our data revealed that absolute abundance and the community structure of the total bacteria, nosZ-type and napA-type ADB, were significantly altered under different shaking durations. Specifically, the order Pseudomonadales, possessing both nosZ and napA genes, was significantly enriched in water and sediment samples under both 12/12 and 24/0 shaking/static cycles. However, in water samples, compared to the 24/0 shaking/static cycles, the 12/12 shaking/static cycles could lead to a higher enrichment rate of aerobic denitrification bacteria indicated by the higher absolute abundance of bacteria and the higher accounting percentage of orders Oceanospirillales and Vibrionales. Moreover, although the order Pseudomonadales notably increased under the 12/12 of shake/static cycle compared to the 24/0 shaking/static cycle, considering the relative higher abundance of ADB in 24/0 shaking/static cycle, the enrichment of ADB in sediment may be efficient with the 24/0 shaking/static cycle.

Abstract
A low-cost flexible spectroscopic refractive index matching (SRIM) material with bandpass filtering properties without incidence angle and polarization dependence by randomly dispersing inorganic C a F 2 particles in organic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) materials was proposed in our previous study. Since the micron size of the dispersed particles is much larger than the visible wavelength, the calculation based on the commonly used finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method to simulate light propagation through the SRIM material is too bulky; however, on the other hand, the light tracing method based on Monte Carlo theory in our previous study cannot adequately explain the process. Therefore, a novel approximate calculation model, to the best of our knowledge, based on phase wavefront perturbation is proposed that can well explain the propagation of light through this SRIM sample material and can also be used to approximate the soft scattering of light through composite materials with small refractive index differences, such as translucent ceramics. The model simplifies the complex superposition of wavefront phase disturbances and the calculation of scattered light propagation in space. The scattered and nonscattered light ratios; the light intensity distribution after transmission through the spectroscopic material; and the influence of absorption attenuation of the PDMS organic material on the spectroscopic performance are also considered. The simulation results based on the model are in great agreement with the experimental results. This work is important to further improve the performance of SRIM materials.

Abstract
Hemodialysis patients exhibit anemia-related cerebral hyperperfusion and iron deposition (ID). However, the mechanisms underlying the pathology of cerebral ID are not clear. We investigated the role of cerebral blood flow (CBF) in the pathophysiology of cerebral ID in hemodialysis patients with anemia. This study recruited 33 hemodialysis patients with anemia and thirty-three healthy controls (HCs). All the subjects underwent quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) and arterial spin labeling (ASL) to measure ID and CBF in the cerebral nuclei. Furthermore, we evaluated lacunar infarction (LI), cerebral microbleeds, and total white matter hyperintensity volume (TWMHV). Hemodialysis patients with anemia showed significantly higher ID and CBF in some nuclei compared to the HCs after adjusting for age, sex, and total intracranial volume (TIV) [P < 0.05, false discovery rate (FDR) corrected]. CBF showed a positive correlation with ID in both patients and HCs after adjustments for age, gender, and TIV (P < 0.05, FDR corrected). Serum phosphorus, calcium, TWMHV, hypertension, and dialysis duration were independently associated with ID (P < 0.05). Hemoglobin, serum phosphorus, and LI were independently associated with CBF (P < 0.05). Mediation analysis demonstrated that CBF mediated the effects between hemoglobin and ID. Our study demonstrated that CBF mediated aberrant cerebral ID in hemodialysis patients with anemia.

Abstract
5-Demethylnobiletin (5DN) is an important ingredient of citrus extract that is rich in polymethoxyflavones (PMFs). In this study, we systemically investigated the preventive effects of 5DN on antibiotic-associated intestinal disturbances. Experimental mice were gavaged 0.2 mL per day of the antibiotic cocktail (12.5 g L-1 cefuroxime and 10 g L-1 levofloxacin) for 10 days, accompanied by dietary 0.05% 5DN for 10 and 20 days. The results showed that the combination of cefuroxime and levofloxacin caused swelling of the cecum and injury to the colon tissue. Meanwhile, the balance of intestinal oxidative stress and the barrier function of mice was also damaged by the antibiotics through upregulation of the relative mRNA levels of superoxide dismutase 3 (SOD3), quinine oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1) and glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1), and downregulation of the relative protein levels of tight junction proteins (TJs). Moreover, antibiotic exposure led to disorder of the gut microbiota, particularly increased harmful bacteria (Proteobacteria) and decreased beneficial bacteria (Bacteroideta). However, dietary 5DN could reduce antibiotic-associated intestinal damage, evidenced by the results that 5DN alleviated gut oxidative damage and attenuated intestinal barrier injury via increasing the expression of TJs including occludin and zonula occluden1 (ZO1). Additionally, dietary 5DN modulated the composition of the gut microbiota in antibiotic-treated mice by increasing the relative levels of beneficial bacteria, such as Dubosiella and Lactobacillus. Moreover, PMFs increased the contents of isobutyric acid and butyric acid, which were almost eliminated by antibiotic exposure. In conclusion, 5DN could alleviate antibiotic-related imbalance of intestinal oxidative stress, barrier function damage, intestinal flora disorders and the reduction of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which lays a foundation for exploring safer and more effective ways to prevent or mitigate antibiotic-associated intestinal damage.

Abstract
Animal silk is usually considered to exist as a solid fiber with a highly ordered structure, formed by the hierarchical assembly starting from a single silk fibroin (SF) chain. However, this study showed that silk protein molecules existed in the form of a fractal network structure in aqueous solution, rather than as a single chain. This type of network was relatively rigid with low fractal dimension. Finite element analysis revealed that this network structure significantly helped in the stable storage of SF prior to the spinning process and in the rapid formation of a β-sheeted nanocrystalline and nematic texture during spinning. Further, the strong but brittle mechanical properties of Bombyx mori silk could also be well-explained through the fractal network model of silk fibroin. The strength was mainly derived from the dual network structure, consisting of nodes and β-sheet cross-links, whereas the brittleness could be attributed to the rigidity of the SF chains between these nodes and cross-links. In summary, this study presents insights from network topology for understanding the spinning process of natural silk and the structure-property relationship in silk materials.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The circle of Willis (CoW) plays a significant role in intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS). This study investigated the relationship between different types of CoW, atherosclerosis plaque features, and acute ischemic stroke (AIS). METHODS We investigated 97 participants with AIS or transient ischemic attacks (TIA) underwent pre- and post-contrast 3T vessel wall cardiovascular magnetic resonance within 7 days of the onset of symptoms. The culprit plaque characteristics (including enhancement grade, enhancement ratio, high signal in T1, irregularity of plaque surface, and normalized wall index), and vessel remodeling (including arterial remodeling ratio and positive remodeling) for lesions were evaluated. The anatomic structures of the anterior and the posterior sections of the CoW (A-CoW and P-CoW) were also evaluated. The plaque features were compared among them. The plaque features were also compared between AIS and TIA patients. Finally, univariate and multivariate regression analysis was performed to evaluate the independent risk factors for AIS. RESULT Patients with incomplete A-CoW showed a higher plaque enhancement ratio (P = 0.002), enhancement grade (P = 0.01), and normalized wall index (NWI) (P = 0.018) compared with the patients with complete A-CoW. A higher proportion of patients with incomplete symptomatic P-CoW demonstrated more culprit plaques with high T1 signals (HT1S) compared with those with complete P-CoW (P = 0.013). Incomplete A-CoW was associated with a higher enhancement grade of the culprit plaques [odds ratio (OR):3.84; 95% CI: 1.36-10.88, P = 0.011], after adjusting for clinical risk factors such as age, sex, smoking, hypertension, hyperlipemia, and diabetes mellitus. Incomplete symptomatic P-CoW was associated with a higher probability of HT1S (OR:3.88; 95% CI: 1.12-13.47, P = 0.033), after adjusting for clinical risk factors such as age, sex, smoking, hypertension, hyperlipemia, and diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, an irregularity of the plaque surface (OR: 6.24; 95% CI: 2.25-17.37, P < 0.001), and incomplete symptomatic P-CoW (OR: 8.03, 95% CI: 2.43-26.55, P = 0.001) were independently associated with AIS. CONCLUSIONS This study demonstrated that incomplete A-CoW was associated with enhancement grade of the culprit plaque, and incomplete symptomatic side P-CoW was associated with the presence of HT1S of culprit plaque. Furthermore, an irregularity of plaque surface and incomplete symptomatic side P-CoW were associated with AIS.

Abstract
Regulation of perovskite growth plays a critical role in the development of high-performance optoelectronic devices. However, judicious control of the grain growth for perovskite light emitting diodes is elusive due to its multiple requirements in terms of morphology, composition, and defect. Herein, we demonstrate a supramolecular dynamic coordination strategy to regulate perovskite crystallization. The combined use of crown ether and sodium trifluoroacetate can coordinate with A site and B site cations in ABX3 perovskite, respectively. The formation of supramolecular structure retard perovskite nucleation, while the transformation of supramolecular intermediate structure enables the release of components for slow perovskite growth. This judicious control enables a segmented growth, inducing the growth of insular nanocrystal consist of low-dimensional structure. Light emitting diode based on this perovskite film eventually brings a peak external quantum efficiency up to 23.9%, ranking among the highest efficiency achieved. The homogeneous nano-island structure also enables high-efficiency large area (1 cm2) device up to 21.6%, and a record high value of 13.6% for highly semi-transparent ones.

Abstract
Exploring and designing two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials for armor-piercing protection has become a research focus. Here, by molecular dynamics simulation, we revealed that the ultralight monolayer covalent organic framework (COF), one kind of novel 2D crystalline polymer, possesses superior impact-resistant capability under high-velocity impact. The calculated specific penetration energy is much higher than that of other traditional impact-resistant materials, such as steel, poly(methyl methacrylate), Kevlar, etc. It was found that the hexagonal nanopores integrated by polymer chains have large deformation compatibility resulting from flexible torsion and stretching, which can remarkably contribute to the energy dissipation. In addition, the deformable nanopores can effectively restrain the crack propagation, enable COF to resist multiple impacts. This work uncovers the extreme dynamic responses of COF under high-velocity impact and provides theoretical guidance for designing superstrong 2D polymer-based crystalline nanomaterials.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To develop and validate a nomogram to detect improved knee pain in osteoarthritis (OA) by integrating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomics signature of subchondral bone and clinical characteristics. METHODS Participants were selected from the Vitamin D Effects on Osteoarthritis (VIDEO) study. The primary outcome was 20% improvement of knee pain score over 2 years in participants administrated either vitamin D or placebo. Radiomics features of subchondral bone and clinical characteristics from 216 participants were extracted and analyzed. The participants were randomly split into the training and validation cohorts at a ratio of 8:2. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to select features and generate radiomics signatures. The optimal radiomics signature and clinical indicators were fitted into a nomogram using multivariable logistic regression model. RESULTS The nomogram showed favorable discrimination performance [AUCtraining, 0.79 (95% CI: 0.72-0.79), AUCvalidation, 0.83 (95% CI: 0.70-0.96)] as well as a good calibration. Additional contributing value of fusion radiomics signature to the nomogram was statistically significant (NRI, 0.23; IDI, 0.14, P < 0.001 in training cohort and NRI, 0.29; IDI, 0.18, P < 0.05 in validating cohort). Decision curve analysis confirmed the clinical usefulness of nomogram. CONCLUSION The radiomics-based nomogram comprising the MR radiomics signature and clinical variables achieves a favorable predictive efficacy and accuracy in differentiating improvement in knee pain among OA patients. This proof-of-concept study provides a promising way to predict clinically meaningful outcomes.

Abstract
In this work, a novel dual Z-scheme Bi2WO6/g-C3N4/black phosphorus quantum dots (Bi2WO6/g-C3N4/BPQDs) composites were fabricated and utilized towards photocatalytic degradation of bisphenol A (BPA) under visible-light irradiation. Optimizing the content of g-C3N4 and BPQDs in Bi2WO6/g-C3N4/BPQDs composites to a suitable mass ratio can enhance the visible-light harvesting capacity and increase the charge separation efficiency and the transfer rate of excited-state electrons and holes, resulting in much higher photocatalytic activity for BPA degradation (95.6%, at 20 mg/L in 120 min) than that of Bi2WO6 (63.7%), g-C3N4 (25.0%), BPQDs (8.5%), and Bi2WO6/g-C3N4 (79.6%), respectively. Radical trapping experiments indicated that photogenerated holes (h+) and superoxide radicals (•O2-) played crucial roles in photocatalytic BPA degradation. Further, the possible degradation pathway and photocatalytic mechanism was proposed by analyzing the BPA intermediates. This work also demonstrated that the Bi2WO6/g-C3N4/BPQDs as effective photocatalysts was stable and have promising potential to remove environmental contaminants from real water samples.

Abstract
With the booming of worldwide agriculture intensification, brucellosis, one of the most neglected zoonotic diseases, has become an increasing challenge for global public health. Although the transmission patterns of human brucellosis (HB) have been studied in many regions, the dynamic transfer processes of risk and its driving factors remain poorly understood, especially in the context of agricultural intensification. This study attempted to explore the risk transfer of HB between the exact epidemic areas and the neighboring or distant low-risk areas to explain the impact of livestock agriculture intensification and foodborne infections on the transmission of HB in Shaanxi Province as a case study. We adopted multiple approaches, including test-based methods, model-based methods, and a geographical detector to detect the spatial-temporal dynamic changes of high-risk epidemic areas of HB at the county scale. We also quantitatively estimated how the related factors drove the risk transfer of the disease. Results confirmed the risk transfer pattern of HB with an expansion from north to south in Shaanxi Province and identified two primary transfer routes. In particular, in the traditional epidemic areas of the Shaanbei plateau, the farm agglomeration effect can significantly increase the risk of HB. Meanwhile, retail outlets for milk and dairy products were partially responsible for the foodborne infections of HB in the emerging epidemic areas of Xi'an. This study not only contributed helpful insights to support HB control and prevention in the rapid transition of livestock agriculture but also provided possible directions for further research on foodborne HB infections in urbanized areas.
