Abstract
The structure of bromidochloridobis[2-(dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl]tin(IV), [SnBr0.65Cl1.35(C9H12N)2], contains two 2-(Me2NCH2)C6H4 units bonded to a Sn atom which lies on a twofold axis. The compound exhibits substitutional disorder of the halide atoms bonded to the Sn, with 1.35 occupancy for Cl and 0.65 for Br; it is isomorphous with the corresponding dichloride. The Sn atom is hexacoordinated with a (C,N)2SnX2 (X = Cl/Br) distorted octahedral core as a result of the strong intramolecular N→Sn coordination trans to the Sn—X bonds (N1—Sn1—X1 = 165.8°). As a result of the intermolecular contacts, viz. H⋯X and H⋯benzene interactions, the molecules are arranged in a three-dimensional supramolecular manner in the crystal structure.

Abstract
The title compound, [Sn(2)(C(9)H(12)N)(4)O(OH)(2)], consists of two [2-(Me(2)NCH(2))C(6)H(4)](2)SnOH units bridged by an O atom located on a twofold rotation axis. The unique Sn atom is six-coordinated with a (C,N)(2)SnO(2) octahedral core, as a result of the strong intramolecular N-->Sn dative coordination trans to the Sn-O bonds [N-Sn-O = 170.24 (12) and 167.83 (10) degrees ]. Owing to the presence of intermolecular H...phenyl contacts, the molecules are arranged in a ladder-like structure.

Abstract
Cleavage of the Se-Se bond in [2-{O(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)](2)Se(2) (1) and [2-{MeN(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)](2)Se(2) (2) by treatment with SO(2)Cl(2), bromine or iodine (1 : 1 molar ratio) yielded [2-{O(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)]SeX [X = Cl (3), Br (4), I (5)] and [2-{MeN(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)]SeI (6). The compounds were characterized in solution by NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C, 15N, 77Se, 2D experiments). The solid-state molecular structures of 1-3, 4.HBr, 5 and 6 were established by single crystal X-ray diffraction. In all cases T-shaped coordination geometries, i.e. (C,N)SeSe (1, 2), (C,N)SeX (3, 5, 6; X = halogen) or CSeBr(2) (4.HBr), were found. Supramolecular associations in crystals based on hydrogen contacts are discussed.

Abstract
R2Bi-BiR2 [1; R = 2,6-(Me2NCH2)2C6H3], a dibismuthane that exists in different forms in the crystalline state, reacts in air with the formation of the peroxide [R(2)Bi]2(O2) (2) and partial oxidation of the pendant (dimethylamino)methyl groups, yielding the mononuclear bismuth complex R'R' 'Bi (3) [R' = 2-(Me2NCH2)-6-{Me2N(O)CH2}C6H3; R' ' = 2-(Me2NCH2)-6-{O(O)C}C6H3].

Abstract
Dinuclear three-coordinate Au(I) complex [Au2{(Ph2Sb)2O}3](ClO4)2 1 displays an interesting phosphorescent behavior in which a large Stokes' shift is observed. Ab initio calculations show that the main distortion for the first triplet excited state, which is responsible for the luminescence behavior of complex 1, is a Jahn-Teller distortion for only one of the Au(I) centers together with a gold-gold distance shortening. This behavior could be extrapolated to other phosphorescent dinuclear three-coordinate Au(I) complexes.

Abstract
Dichloro and chloromethyl Ga(III) complexes of general formulae [XClGa-eta2-{R2P(E)NP(E'R'2-E,E'}](X = Cl, R, R'= Ph, E, E'= O (1), S (2), Se (3); R = Ph, R'= OEt, E = O, E'= S (4); R = Me, R'= Ph, E, E'= S (5) and X = Me, E, E'= O (6), S (7), Se (8)) were synthesised by either metathesis reactions between GaCl3 and the potassium salt of the ligand (X = Cl) or by methane eliminations from in situ prepared GaMe2Cl and the protonated ligands LH (X = Me). Redistribution reaction of (3) in either CDCl3 or THF afforded the solvent-free tetracoordinate gallium spirocycle cation [Ga-{eta2-{Ph2P(Se)NP(Se)Ph2-Se,Se'})2]+ (9+). The molecular structures of complexes 2, 4, 5, 7 and 9(+) show non-planar gallacycle rings.

Abstract
The cyclostibane R(4)Sb(4)(1)(R = 2-(Me(2)NCH(2))C(6)H(4)) was synthesized by reduction of RSbCl(2) with Mg in THF or with Na in liquid NH(3). The reaction of 1 with [W(CO)(5)(THF)] gives the stibinidene complex RSb[W(CO)(5)](2)(2). RSbCl(2) and (RSbCl)(2)E [E = O (6), E = S (8)] react with KOH or Na(2)S in toluene/water to give the heterocycles (RSbE)(n)[E = O, n= 3 (3); E = S, n= 2 (4)]. The chalcogeno-bridged compounds of the type (RSbCl)(2)E [E = O (6), E = S (8)] were synthesized by reaction of RSbCl(2) with KOH or Na(2)S in toluene/water, but also by reaction of RSbCl(2) with the heterocycles (RSbE)(n). The compounds (RSbI)(2)O (7) and (RSbBr)(2)S (9) were prepared via halogen-exchange reactions between (RSbCl)(2)E and NaI (E = O) or KBr (E = S) or by reactions between RSbI(2) and KOH or RSbBr(2) and Na(2)S. The reaction of cyclo-(RSbS)(2) with W(CO)(5)(THF) in THF results in trapping of the cis isomer in cyclo-(RSbS)(2)[W(CO)(5)](5). The solution behaviour of the compounds was investigated by (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopy. The molecular structures of compounds 1-7 and 9 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Abstract
The Cu(I) complexes, (Ph3P)2CuL (L = [S2PMe2]-, [OSPR2]- (R = Me, Ph), [(XPR2)(YPR'2)N]- (X, Y, R, R' = O, O, Ph, Ph; O, S, Ph, Ph; O, S, OEt, Ph; S, S, Me, Me)) and Cu(II) complexes, CuL2 (L = [(XPR2)(YPR'2)N]- (X, Y, R, R' = O, O, Ph, Ph; O, S, Ph, Ph)), have been prepared. The Cu(I) derivatives were characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and in two cases by X-ray crystallography. (Ph3P)2Cu[S2PMe2] (1) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P212121 (No. 19) with cell parameters a = 9.782(2), b = 17.808(4), c = 20.216(4) Å, V = 3521(6) Å3 and Z = 4, and (Ph3P)2Cu[(OPPh2)2N] (4) in the triclinic space group P[Formula: see text] (No. 2) with cell parameters a = 9.8079(2), b = 12.9141(3), c = 22.5666(5) Å, α = 75.714(2), β = 79.465(2), γ = 68.2770(8)°, V = 2559.9(1) Å3 and Z = 2. In both cases the phosphorus ligands are bidentate, thus resulting in monomeric molecules that contain tetrahedral CuP2S2 and CuP2O2 cores. The molecular structures of two of the Cu(II) derivatives were also determined. Cu[(OPPh2)2N]2 (8) and Cu[(OPPh2)(SPPh2)N]2 (9) crystallize in the triclinic space group P[Formula: see text] (No. 2) with cell parameters a = 8.887(2), b = 10.739(2), c = 12.477(3) Å, α = 77.61(3), β = 76.15(5), γ = 79.46(3)°, V = 1118.3(4) Å3 and Z = 1 for 8, and a = 9.626(2), b = 14.151(3), c = 24.752(5) Å, α = 88.23(3), β = 79.93(3), γ = 89.77(3)°, V = 3181(1) Å3 and Z = 3 for 9. The molecule of Cu[(OPPh2)2N]2 (8) has a planar CuO4 core, while in Cu[(OPPh2)(SPPh2)N]2 (9) both planar and tetrahedral copper cores are observed in a ratio of 1:2.Key words: structure, copper, thiophosphinates, oxo- and thio-imidodiphosphinates
